PARENT: I got "rubber duck" for my child's "bath" and she loves it.
AUTISM RESPONSE: Rubber ducks and other rubber bath toys can accumulate mold on the inside because of small holes underneath where moisture becomes trapped. The mold often goes unnoticed because it's not visible from the outside.
CORRECT RESPONSE(?): That's nice, I am unaware of how mold could impact this situation.
I remember when I was younger, anytime I watched a movie where the characters have to kill a scary monster/alien, I always thought the act of killing it was intended to be part of the horror. Like thereās this amazing creature that weāve never seen before, and maybe under different circumstances we couldāve coexisted with it, but itās trying to attack you and you have to defend yourself, but by destroying it you also destroy the ability to ever understand it and thatās sad and is supposed to make you feel conflicted.
It was not until well into my adulthood that I realized most people do not have complicated feelings about movies where people have to kill a scary alien monster, nor is that necessarily meant to be part of the narrative (unless it very obviously is). They just want the scary thing to die because itās scary. I donāt have a real conclusion to this I just started thinking about it for some reason.

"it's just stress" oh thank god, it's just the silent killer that slowly kills you, perfectly harmless, no need to worry
how did you find out you had lupus? I think I do but Idk
multiple people over the course of 5-6 years told me that a lot of my autoimmune symptoms seemed like lupus (hair falling out, mouth/nasal sores when stressed/sick, photosensitivity, joint pain, skin issues) and i have family history of autoimmune diseases
late 2024 i had my first grand mal seizure and found out iād been having focal seizures for years that i mistook for migraines/anxiety. my bfs sister is a doctor and she said that i needed to ask for an anti nuclear test. i got referred to a research hospital and they took me really seriously and tested for different autoimmune and inflammatory markers
definitely make a list of symptoms and keep track of when/where they happen, take photos of any visible symptoms (skin flushing, swelling, hair loss, sores, Reynauds, etc) and if you can go to a research hospital, i suggest it. in my experience theyāve always taken me more seriously, and didnāt treat me like i was drug seeking.
unfortunately with lupus, there is no one test that can detect it and itās more a process of elimination. it presents so differently person to person and itās really stigmatized so you have to document everything. advocate for yourself but be open minded to the idea that itās something else
