Quillard Reyus, commonly referred to as Quill, is a literary arts and literary history student at Casus College of International Arts. She is a secret prolific poet and author, working under the name 'R.D. Flayis'.
What is Quill Reyfus' physical appearance?
Quill is 4 feet 9 inches, or 144.78 centimeters - height due to her thyroid disorder. Her skin is a deep red tan with a cool undertone. Her hair is choppy, coming out in angular squares all over her head. She has a small, skinny build, likely due to poor hormone levels and chronic illness young in life. She has a normal skin type, smooth with no impurities. She has an ostomy bag attached to the lower left of her stomach. Her spine is curved to the right. She has scarring across the front of her chest from multiple heart surgeries and insertion of her pacemaker.
Prior to entering the Mirror World, her original hair colour was a deep burgundy. Her eyes were a slightly lighter burgundy.
After entering the Mirror World, parts of her choppy hair took on a creamy grey tone. The pupils of her eyes became small lines of scribbles, almost like text (☰).
What is Quill Reyfus' background and history?
Quill lived in Casus all of her known life, found wrapped in dirty cloths on the steps of Casus City Hall as an infant. She was found freezing cold with lots of ailments, and was held at the Campus College Hospital for several months while doctors monitored her health and did genetic testing. According to them, her DNA was unreadable and it was impossible to link her to any family in nearby vicinity, implying she simply appeared. Not much else is known about her.
Who is Quill Reyfus related to? Who is her family?
Quill's foster family was overseed for by Devon Gallagher, often referred to as Mr. Gallagher, a man who worked for Casus City Hall. Her foster brothers are Tobias "Tobe" Gillespie and Nasyha "Yhat" Zsuu. She never had a close relationship with Tobe, but clung to Yhat from the moment he entered the family. To this day, the two still live together and support one another. Yhat and Quill met when Yhat was five and Quill was three.
What sort of activities does Quill Reyfus like?
Quill loves writing stories and poetry, spending most of her free time and school time writing. Before anything else, she has her face stuffed in a new book or writing with her quill and ink, thinking of countless new ways to tell the stories in her head. One of her guilty pleasures is romance novels, but she is incredibly embarrassed of it because she considers them 'poor literature'.
Other than literature, Quill enjoys attending antique fairs, markets, and thrift stores for cute knickknacks and rare finds. Things such as fine dinnerware, porcelain dolls, small decorations pique her interest the most, and she will attend auctions just for them.
What kind of traits, ticks, or behaviours does Quill Reyfus exhibit?
Quill is a very serious, stoic, professional woman who likes to study. If something requires research, she is already looking into it. She has always been a dedicated academic, even receiving scholarships to attend Valmous Private School and Casus College.
She is a mute individual so she does not speak, hum, or make subtle noises. Despite being significantly deaf and not being affected by outside noise, she much prefers a less populated space where she won't be bothered. She can read lips, though not very well.
Quill tends to look down on people who are disrespectful or rude, despite not treating others that kindly. She has what is commonly referred to as 'Resting Bitch Face'. One would think she would dislike her brother, but she loves him dearly (because he isn't actually a bad guy).
What does Quill Reyfus want? What prevents her from achieving that goal?
Quill wants freedom. Since discovering The Mirror World, she feels chained to the duty of saving everyone. She puts everything into writing, reading, and literary arts so she won't have to think of the looming responsibilities. It feels like her life is dictated for her now that she read the Casus Vallis Historia, and can not find a moment of peace.
Quill is desperate to find love like she reads in romance novels, but does not think its attainable because of the work she has to do. Wanting love does not stop her from wanting independence. She is worried she will always be in her older brothers shadow.
How does Quill Reyfus interact with her surroundings?
To put it simply, Quill doesn't interact with anything. She does not go out of her way to participate in outside activities, preferring to stay on her own if she can help it. Her size makes it easy to avoid people and sneak out of things - she has used it many times in school to sneak out of assemblies, field trips, and Doluitistic mass.
If she is absolutely obligated to participate, she will be grumpy and uninterested. The only thing she loves to navigate is the Casus Library or Casus Museum, touching every artifact she is allowed to.
What do outsiders think of Quill Reyfus? How does she treat them?
Most people think she is a quiet, weird girl who has a hard time making friends. The most public perception she allows is going to Benny's Diner to visit one of her best friends, Dusk, and enjoy a coffee. No one bothers her, so she does not bother others. Despite her stoic and plain demeanor, she is an excellent tipper and loves to support small businesses.
Secretly, Quill is a very popular author and poet in literary circles under the name R.D. Flayis. Her fans adore her and her creativity, and some argue her work is what fueled internet fandom culture - despite her hating technology and the internet.
What do Quill Reyfus' friends think of her? How does she treat them?
Yhat: "Quill. Is. Everything to me. When I was first brought to the foster home I felt like I had no friends except Donovan, and he was so far away. Quill was young when we first met but we bonded immediately. I fed her, I watched her, and the whole family felt tight knit. Both of us learned how to read at the same time, because I didn't know English and she was just a baby. Eventually, she was teaching me how to do basic things. It was thanks to her I did well in school... I work every day to make sure she is happy. She is my little sister. Knowing she has to work so hard in The Mirror World scares me every day."
Gwen: "Such a sweetie pie! Well, maybe that's not right, but she is just such a cutie. I have no idea how Quill and Yhat get along because they are SOOO opposites, but their connection is so beautiful. I've tried to get close to Quill but she is so private, it's hard to get to her. The way to her heart is baked goods! I bring homemade cookies and desserts to her whenever I can, since she can't eat a lot of processed foods (Thank goodness! That stuff is gross!)."
Archie: "MY BESTIE!!!!!! I was only a year ahead of her in Valmous Private School despite her being, like, 3 years younger than me - she is a certified GENIUS! People say opposites attract and I think that is the truth with me and Quill! In school she was picked on a lot, and if Yhat wasn't around I was there to support her. She even helped me learn Sign Language! We talk aaaaalll the time - she isn't actually that quiet once you get to know her, she just doesn't speak vocally!"
Donnie: "Her and I get along really well. Probably because we are both quiet and enjoy the same things. Yhat, Quill and I were together a lot in Valmous Private School, but Quill skipped a few grades. Her genius was so neat to me... I always felt like a slow kid, but she showed me that I can be really smart. She helped me read my textbooks in school and went above and beyond to help me study. Even though she is so tiny, she is the most powerful woman I've ever met. She could kick all of our asses at magic..."
Dusk: "Ever since we were kids, I've dedicated my everything to protecting her. Once in our after school program I saw her getting pushed around, and I stood in front of the bullies and took all the hits for her. She seemed really appreciative, and ended up clinging to me a lot during those days. When we were reading together, she showed me a lot of fantasy books and drawings of royalty and their knights. It clicked - I could be her knight. I could protect her. Her brother does a piss poor job at it and lets her go around just doing whatever - it makes me sick! Now that we venture in The Mirror World, I am her true knight. I would kill for her. I would die for her."

╰┈➤[☀] Powers
How does Quill Reyfus' power manifest?
Upon tapping into the Mirror World, Quill Reyfus discovered her powers of Psionics, Light, and Energy. This power likely stems from her access of the Casus Vallis Historia and being the only one who can read its language.
How did Quill Reyfus discover the Mirror World?
Quill discovered the Mirror World after she read the Casus Vallis Historia in the library, though has been experiencing the Mirror World's effects of tremors and buzzing for as long as she's been alive; she does not know an existence without it. It is unknown why she is the most tapped in of all The Protectors.
Quill's magic is the strongest of the group, but often leaves her exhausted after use.
What influences Quill Reyfus to protect the public and go through The Mirror World?
Quill feels obligated to save people because of her innate abilities. Because she felt The Mirror World early on in her childhood, she has the most experience and thus must dedicate herself to learning more and keeping people safe. In a way, she doesn't have a choice.
Duskin Dae, commonly referred to as Dusk, is a physical education and nutrition student at Casus College of International Arts. He works as a personal trainer at the local gym, a multi-style sword fighting instructor in the fencing club at the college, and a waiter at Benny's Diner.
What is Dusk Dae's physical appearance?
Dusk is 5 feet 9 inches, or 175.26 centimeters. His skin is a light brown and white, most of his upper body affected by vitiligo. His hair is curly, but buzzed all the way down to the scalp. He has a buff, muscley build with thick biceps, calves, and pectorals, accentuated by the exercise and sword fighting he does. He has a normal skin type, relatively clear skin but with several reoccurring bruises. He has scarring on his chest from top surgery.
Prior to entering the Mirror World, his original hair colour was a reddish brown. His eyes were a dark brown.
After entering the Mirror World, the tips of his hair took on a blue-lavender tone. The pupils of his eyes became dark red droplets (𓄼).
What is Dusk Dae's background and history?
Unlike many of his friends, Dusk was born in Casus Vallis. He has left home very few times, only to visit his family in Zimbabwe or South Korea. Dusk was always a rowdy and excitable kid who got into trouble frequently - not because he was bad, but because he couldn't control his energy. Unlike his parents, both Dusk and Dawn were athletes from the moment they could walk, doing anything and everything they could to move. He also had the habit of picking up sticks and using them as swords, wanting to 'compete in battle' with anyone who was willing.
As a way to try and get Dusk's energy out, his father introduced him to his old drum set that he used to play before moving onto electronica, teaching him a few tricks. From there, Dusk grew to love percussion, finding a lot of peace while he played the drums. It also birthed his interest in double sword fighting, now focusing a lot of his efforts on working with two swords in his hands.
The family spent many happy years in Casus, enjoying the community and adopting the culture of Doluitism - though not Orthodox.
Unfortunately, a car accident left the family struggling severely while the kids were still young, with Gi going missing and Dawn losing her right leg. Dusk feels responsible for the accident, and now works tirelessly to support his family and peers, looking for his father along the way.
Who is Dusk Dae related to? Who is his family?
Dusk lived with his simple and quiet nuclear family, composed of his mother Medjine Calixte who used to work for Casus City Hall, father Gi Dae who was a music teacher at Valmous Private School, and younger sister Dawn Dae who attends Doluit High School and is very accomplished in Track & Field.
Both his parents lived in South Korea, with Gi living there all his life and Medjine moving from Zimbabwe for school. In their 20s they met in college as music students, realizing they had the same goal: to bring electronica alive through a unique sound. Together, they formed Crop Circle, a mid 70s-early 80s electronica k-pop band who gained surprising notoriety throughout Asia, quickly falling in love with the fame and one another. Like many things, their career was short and barely lasted 10 years, so when Medjine got pregnant with Dusk they decide to flee to a quiet place where no one would recognize them - Casus Vallis.
What sort of activities does Dusk Dae like?
Dusk is often seen in the fencing and sword fighting gym on Casus College property, at the 24h gym in Centretown, or drumming away in the college's music club The Speakeasy. Most of the things that occupy his time are fighting, exercise, and music - he does not pay attention to much else. If he isn't playing the music, he is listening to it, often putting on his record player and using it as workout material.
Because his parents main interest was in electronica, Dusk grew a resentment for it, listening to old soul and R&B as a kind of protest. Additionally, he has a lot of interest in how the body functions and nutrition's impact on people, often researching the risks of fad diets.
What kind of traits, ticks, or behaviours does Dusk Dae exhibit?
Dusk is stoic in work, and rowdy in play. He has always taken sports and martial arts seriously, but when work is behind him he is a chill and fun guy to be around. Despite his strictness in routine and health, Dusk likes to party now and then, sometimes going out with his friends - though it is rare for him to have a day off.
Dusk has a duty to protect his friends from the cruelty of the world, often acting as a 'white knight' to protect those in need. This can come out to a fault, especially when he helps people without asking.
His mindset on helping others is quite toxic, putting himself in the role of a knight and forgetting he is a normal man who can also be hurt.
It is important for Dusk to always be working, whether at the gym, or the fencing club, the Mirror World, The Speakeasy, or at Benny's Diner - he constantly needs to keep going to feel productive. Some think this is an internalized toxic masculinity he developed after dedicating himself to 'the way of the knight', not wanting to be seen as lazy or not good enough.
What does Dusk Dae want? What prevents him from achieving that goal?
Dusk more than anything else wants to be the knight, bodyguard, and caretaker of Quill Reyfus. Since they were children, he dedicated his heart and efforts into protecting Quill and making sure she grew up safe, calling her his 'priestess'. Because Quill was - and still is - sickly, Dusk worked extra hard to make sure she felt included and protected throughout their time as friends. After discovering the Mirror World, that responsibility grew tenfold, with Dusk taking his position as knight more seriously now that magic and mystery was involved.
Along with being a knight, Dusk wants to solve the disappearance of his father, who went missing immediately after crashing their car into a pole just within Casus grounds. There was no sign of him leaving the scene of the accident, but no one has found him or his body. Dusk believes he is still out there and works tirelessly to bring him home.
How does Dusk Dae interact with his surroundings?
Dusk is moderately respectful of the places he is in, always asking permission before doing something, and when accepted in other peoples space keeps in clean. Like many young adult men, the home he shares with his roommates is a bit of a mess, but is manageable and more of an 'organized chaos'.
While working in his clubs or jobs, he is extremely serious and keeps the space exactly how it should be, following extract instruction and orders. When he is free to his own devices, he will be more relaxed and not take care of the space's appearance.
What do outsiders think of Dusk Dae? How does he treat them?
Most people think Dusk is a polite, kind man. He is the 'help an old lady cross the street' or 'get a cat out of a tree' kind of guy when he has the means to do so. When in a serious situation, he can be scary, using all his strength to protect those around him, less so himself. He can be a frustrating combination of too serious and not serious enough, depending on the right situation.
Dusk works hard to make his public perception a good one, and the fact he has to try hard might make him not the best.
What do Dusk Dae's friends think of him? How does he treat them?
Yhat: "He kiiiiinda feels like a fake. Am I the only one that thinks he tries too hard to be a goody-goody? Always about 'work hard' this, 'be perfect' that, but does he ever take his own advice? Does he ever ask before he 'helps' someone? No, he is self centered and doesn't realize it. Doesn't see how his actions can hurt people sometimes. How I see it, he's a sore loser with a nice-guy suit,"
Gwen: "He's so great to be around! We are both similar in that we love to help the public, but he has a stricter method. He teaches me a lot about strengthening so I can last longer doing chores along the ranch, and we often act as 'guard duty' together in the Mirror World. If I had more time, I'd probably hang out with him some more!"
Archie: "Yay!! Dusk is amazing!!! When I first moved to Casus he made me feel so welcome. It's so much colder here, I felt like I didn't belong, I was so out of my element, but we were so similar that I clung to him like glue! AND he plays the drums! He is always checking up on everyone, making sure everyone eats a good meal, and is always there to listen."
Donnie: "Uh, I really don't know much about anyone, do I? The first time I met him is when Yhat pointed him out years ago and called him a 'piece of shit', but he seems like a normal guy to me. Sometimes he offers me advice about football, but I don't like to talk about sports so I leave the conversations pretty fast... I'm sure he is nice. I just have a hard time talking to people..."

╰┈➤[☀] Powers
How does Dusk Dae's power manifest?
Upon tapping into the Mirror World, Dusk Dae discovered his powers of Water, Rains, and Storms. This power likely stems from an accident he and his family were in during a rain storm, in which his father went missing.
How did Dusk Dae discover the Mirror World?
Dusk discovered the Mirror World very young, at age 8, though it was unknowingly. After the accident, he began to feel tremors and buzzing throughout Casus Vallis, but chalked it up to 'puberty'. Whenever he was around his childhood friend, Quill, he would feel sick and feel vibrations coming off her, but chalked it up to having a crush. It wasn't until he watched someone fall into a Mirror Pool and not come out that he realized the effects he experienced since childhood were from there. When he jumped in to save the stranger, he couldn't get back out, and was saved by Yhat.
What influences Dusk Dae to protect the public and go through The Mirror World?
The disappearance of his father fuels a lot of what he does, wanting to prevent other families from dissolving. The love and care he has for Quill is another aspect, going into the Mirror World mostly to watch over her. Protecting people, especially his priestess, is what fuels him.

Chronic Pain from Sports-Related Injury, Car Accident
Donovan Podeki, commonly referred to as Donovan or Donnie, is a botany student at Casus College of International Arts. He works for the Casus Farmers Association maintaining their greenhouse.
What is Donnie Podeki's physical appearance?
Donnie is 6 feet, or 182.88 centimeters. His skin is a pale cream with a cool undertone, covered in red splotches. His hair is thin and cut into a short, blunt bowlcut with an undercut. He has a heavyset body with very large arms, accentuated by his reluctant placement on the football team. He has a dry skin type, covered in severe rosacea, several spider angiomas, and cherry angiomas. He has several stretch marks on the underside of his stomach, inside of his arms, inside and outside of his thighs, and his lower back. He has several old scars along his legs and arms from football over the years, and wandering through the forest.
Prior to entering the Mirror World, his original hair colour was a simple brown. His eyes were light brown.
After entering the Mirror World, the entire centre of his hair took on a bright hot pink, stretching from the back of his head to his bangs. The pupils of his eyes became dark brown flowers (✿), referencing his love for nature and flora.
What is Donnie Podeki's background and history?
Born in Chicago, Illinois, Donnie was born to a pretty simple nuclear family. The first three years of his life were spent with the small but prolific Polish-Jewish community, but when his father's career as a professional football player tanked, the family decided to move to a quiet and simple neighborhood away from the city. Donnie was always a quiet kid, having a hard time talking to his classmates or making lasting connections. Most of his youth was spent wandering around the W.W. Forest behind his house, picking random plants and taking the time to learn about each and every one of them. Despite his obvious love for flora and nature, his father pushed him into football and other heavy sports because of his naturally large stature and size. As a result, Donnie is a reluctant football star and has been since middle school, all to make his father happy. In college, Donnie is able to study Botany as he always wanted, but still plays for the Casus College Redhawks, the lead football team.
Who is Donnie Podeki related to? Who is his family?
Donnie is part of a nuclear family with his mother Bernadette, a stay-at-home mom with a small business making jewelry, father Oscar, who works as a football coach at Doluit High School, younger sibling Edgar, a student at Doluit High School, and an older sister who lives outside of Casus, Frances, who works as a family practitioner in Vancouver, British Columbia. From the outside, the family looks normal and simple, but on the inside it is a very stressful and difficult environment to be in. Oscar is bitter over the failure of his career, Bernadette is stressed about maintaining a buisness and taking care of a child, and Edgar is struggling with their academics due to the shutdown of Valmous Private School. Donnie no longer lives at home, but feels bad for leaving his sibling alone with their parents.
What sort of activities does Donnie Podeki like?
Donnie's main interest will always be flora. He loves to spend time in forests, farms, fields, and the Farmers Association greenhouse. When he first moved to Casus at three years old, the first memories he made was wandering through the nature in Casus. Because he was so young in Chicago, he didn't have the chance to experience nature there, but living in a valley with unique and vibrant plant life invigorated him.
Other than observing flora, Donnie loves hand held video game consoles, especially farming simulators, often sitting with his face in a Bimtembo DX in between his classes. Alongside that, he loves cartoons commonly meant for children, watching reruns of older episodes of The Giggle Gang to pass the time.
What kind of traits, ticks, or behaviours does Donnie Podeki exhibit?
Donnie is a very shy and quiet man, often hiding in the sidelines and staying out of the limelight as much as he can. Unlike his other peers, Donnie keeps to himself and prefers to study, work, and play alone. It is difficult for him to make eye contact with people, and he is more likely to hide behind his friends when meeting a new person. This can especially be detrimental when playing football, because he is often too nervous to push people over, mingle with teammates, or talk to the rival team.
It is more common for Donnie to let his friends speak for him - or speak over him - because he does not find his words any useful to a conversation. As a dyslexic individual, Donnie has a lot of trouble reading his textbooks or writing basic descriptions on the plants he studies, preferring to draw them in detail and write simple key words.
When doing the things he enjoys, Donnie will sometimes talk to himself, or draw little doodles as his main method of stimming. He also scratches at the palms of his hands when he is nervous.
What does Donnie Podeki want? What prevents him from achieving that goal?
Donnie wants to travel the world studying flora, living on the road and surviving off the land. He is partway through this goal, working for and living on Farmers Association property, tending to the greenhouse. Unfortunately because his family lives so close in town, and he has to impress his father at every turn, he feels stuck in the world of sports and athleticism.
He also wants to be more independent and brave, not wanting to rely on his friends for basic help. His own anxiety gets in the way of that.
How does Donnie Podeki interact with his surroundings?
Donnie tries his best to make himself as small as possible - which is pretty difficult, considering his height and size. He will purposefully move out of the way of oncoming crowds so he does not have to bump into people. He also is extremely neat and tidy, almost to a fault, keeping his belongings pristine.
Because he was raised in a busy household, Donnie is used to loud environments and arguments, but because he grew up around that constantly, he does everything in his power to prevent loud noises and fighting amongst his friend group.
What do outsiders think of Donnie Podeki? How does he treat them?
Honestly, no one thinks of Donnie because he does everything not to be seen. Those who do notice him know he is a quiet guy who keeps to himself, thus people tend not to bother him. When he must interact with people, he is overly kind and patient, trying to show that he can be trusted and people shouldn't be afraid of him for his stature.
People who watch the college football games see him at his strongest, able to run long distances even while being tackled. They might also notice that he does not tackle other people, preferring to swerve out of the way. Some people see him as an amazing athlete, some people see him as a panicking loser.
What do Donnie Podeki's friends think of him? How does he treat them?
Yhat: "Best. Guy. Ever. This is the one guy I will always cherish. The only guy I 100% trust. In a small town full of cruel idiots, he is like a daisy in a field of weeds. When I got expelled in high school, he supported me even when I was a real piece of shit. He was the first person I met when I got to Casus. I don't remember much, but I remember his kindness - since then, I've always felt safe around him. Although, I'm usually the one protecting him, haha."
Gwen: "Such a lovely guy! But really quiet. I do my best to make him comfortable and encourage him to do things with the rest of the group, but he tends to keep to himself. The only person I see him hang out with regularly is Yhat, which surprises me every time - they're basically opposites!"
Archie: "He seems really great, but I think I'm a bit too excitable for him! He doesn't like when I play music around him or talk too loud, but I can't blame him since he seems like a really gentle guy. That's probably why he hasn't come to any of my shows - it gets reeeeaaaaallllyyyy loud in there. Despite that, he is a force to be reckoned with in the Mirror World - it's all panic and stress there, but he knows just what to do to help a crowd out."
Dusk: "I don't know much about him. We both participate in athletics which is pretty nice, but he seems reluctant to talk about it. The rest of the gang is much more social and communicative - he really only hangs out with Yhat and Quill. We never really interacted before college because he went to Valmous Private School with everyone else, but I was always curious about him."

How does Donnie Podeki's power manifest?
Upon tapping into the Mirror World, Donnie Podeki's discovered his powers of Flora, Nature, and Plant Life. This power likely stems from his interest and hyperfocus on studying flora throughout Casus Vallis and its irregularity in BC climate, and spending most of his time in forests, gardens, and farmlands.
How did Donnie Podeki discover the Mirror World?
Donnie discovered the Mirror World when he realized his friend and childhood crush, Yhat, was not as present as usual and was avoiding him. Too afraid of confrontation, he decided to follow Yhat after his work shift in secret. Donnie watched Yhat sneak into a blocked off area in a forest behind his family's house, and saw him jump into a reflective pool. Afraid for his safety, Donnie jumped in after him, but instead was chewed out by Yhat for exposing himself to danger.
What influences Donnie Podeki to protect the public and go through The Mirror World?
Donnie uses the Mirror World to become braver and overcome his anxieties around interacting with the public. One would think being faced with constant danger would freak him out more, but knowing he has to put on a brave face to save Reflections makes it easier on him.
The story of Casus Vallis takes place in the year 2003, and Gwen is 22 years old. This means she was born in 1981.
The first generation of My Little Pony came out in 1982, with the toys being in circulation from 1983-1992. This would mean Gwen was the prime age for the first generation My Little Ponies!
Harmony-Archibald Tissera, commonly referred to as Harmony or Archie, is a child prodigy virtuoso, composer, and music history student at Casus College of International Arts. They host a music club called The Speakeasy with their band, The Speakeasy Experience.
╰┈➤[≈] Description
What is Archie Tissera's physical appearance?
Archie is 5 feet 11 inches, or 180.34 centimeters. Their skin is a deep brown with a warm undertone. Their hair is coily and often done up in protective hair styles, but when natural has a curl pattern of 4a. They have a heavy and curvy build, their assets prominent. They have a dry skin type, accentuated by the climate of Casus Vallis. They have stretch marks on the lower portion of their belly, the outside of their thighs, under their arms, and on their chest.
Prior to entering the Mirror World, their original hair colour was a very dark brown, almost black. Their eyes were a very dark brown.
After entering the Mirror World, a clump of hair on the left of their forehead took on a vibrant blue tint. The pupils of their eyes became light brown quavers (♪). referencing their longtime love and dedication to music.
What is Archie Tissera's background and history?
Archie was born in Port of Spain, Trinidad in an affluent home and position. Being born to a mother who was a musician, both them and their twin were made to learn instruments early on in life. The twins were often brought out as a duo string act, attracting audiences throughout Trinidad - not only for their skill, but the novelty of their performance - Archie on the double bass, Symph on the viola. While Archie poured everything into perfecting the craft (under instruction from their mother), their sibling comparatively did not, often doing only what was necessary to make their mother happy. After entering high school, the siblings relationship was strained, often still seen as 'the twin musicians' and nothing else. While Archie enjoyed the attention for their music, Symph enjoyed the attention for their popularity, putting more focus on other instruments simply as a means of impressing people. It didn't sit right with Archie, and eventually they split apart completely, their duo becoming two solo acts. When Symph moved out of Casus with their friend to join a band, Archie was furious, wanting to be there with them but not wanting the fame to come along with it, holding a lot of secret resentment. Now Symph and their partner, Dmitri, are part of a band called B&C, for Mr. Banana and Mr. Corn, a musician-magician combo act. They became world-famous, with the public adoring their campy style and popular music. Since they blew up, the only music Archie resents is B&C.
Who is Archie Tissera related to? Who is their family?
Archie lives with their mother, Pethmi Tissera, and father, Lawrence Tissera. Both their mother and father work for Casus College of International Arts, their mother as a music theory professor and private violin tutor, their father as a carpentry and general construction professor. Before their careers at the college, Pethmi was an acclaimed violinist and ravanahatha expert, traveling around the world with her orchestra until she landed in Trinidad and Tobago, meeting a quiet and humble carpenter on the beach - who happened to be Lawrence. Pethmi never went back home to Sri Lanka, choosing to stay in Trinidad to be with her love.
They also have a twin sibling, Symphony-Archibald Tissera, commonly referred to as Symph, who lives outside of Casus to pursue their dreams as a pop star and magician.
What sort of activities does Archie Tissera like?
Above all else, Archie loves music. Playing music. Listening to music. Dancing to music. They specialize in the double bass and electric bass, but play a huge surplus of modern instruments - even if they haven't tried an instrument, they could easily pick it up! Their entire world revolves around everything that has to with music. As the host of the college music club, The Speakeasy, they have not only dedicated their education, but their free evenings to performing for the public.
When their focus isn't on music, Archie is shopping for excellent fashion finds they can refurbish or craft to something even better, or getting their nails done in gorgeous bright colours and art.
What kind of traits, ticks, or behaviours does Archie Tissera exhibit?
Archie is an excitable, joyous, and entertaining individual who loves being the centre of attention. When they aren't the centre of attention, they are highlighting other musicians or performers to make sure everyone gets a turn in the spotlight.
Aside from that, they tend to get distracted easily on little details, derailing a conversation or jumping from one activity to the next in a manner of minutes. Because of this, it is hard for them to complete tasks or creations (other than composing music) and there are many unfinished projects lying around their home.
Archie also has several vocal stims they present outwardly, including but not limited to whistling, humming, singing, and clicking their tongue. Weirdly enough, they don't like to sing in front of an audience unless necessary, because they consider singing to be their best stim and act of comfort.
What does Archie Tissera want? What prevents them from achieving that goal?
Archie wants to spread the beauty of music all throughout Casus, the country, and the world. They want to teach youth how sound can make people feel good and do good, but aren't necessary looking for the fame that comes along with it. Unlike their sibling, Archie wants to show music for the enjoyment, not the spotlight (even if they like attention a little bit!)
How does Archie Tissera interact with their surroundings?
Archie sometimes forgets to use their indoor voice, laughing loudly and talking about things at inappropriate times. This can lead to people being upset and considering them irresponsible. They try to combat this by being a great host at The Speakeasy, but it doesn't always translate well.
Raised in luxury, Archie is sometimes ignorant of people's upbringings, thinking everyone grew up with a pool, or went on vacations, but they are always willing to learn and are constantly trying to get better.
Archie tends to leave unfinished projects around places, so if you're lucky enough to visit their opulent home, their bedroom is a mess of activities, crafts, and used plates. They're a little messy, but try to keep up with it.
What do outsiders think of Archie Tissera? How do they treat them?
Those who know Archie know they are a beacon of entertainment and joy. The Speakeasy is often attended by not only college students, but people throughout Casus and just past town limits. Their fans are extremely supportive and spread the word as much as they can.
They are always a welcoming person, offering to be their guide or support immediately upon meeting a stranger. At times this can be off putting for outsiders, but most students appreciate the support.
Strangers might be surprised by their immediate joy and excitement at first, but most like their first impression. Some others think they are inappropriate and don't know how to take things seriously.
What do Archie Tissera's friends think of them? How do they treat them?
Yhat: "When I first met them, I thought they were just another pretty face. Then I really got to know them and see the excitement they spread. Wow, they have got some real skill in music and in battle! I have never met a person who can play so many instruments and use them to their biggest potential while in a fight, it's pretty fucking awesome. Plus, they're a partier just like me - usually I hate the guy who brings the guitar to parties, but they are the exception."
Gwen: "Such a warm soul, always making people laugh, sharing candies with their friends, giving amazing music recommendations for whatever genre you like - just amazing on all grounds. I was very new to Casus when we first met, and they invited me to one of their shows. It was a great introduction to the town, made me feel welcome, like there are still good people in this world. They are so nice to me, I always feel safe when I'm with them."
Donnie: "Uhh... I don't really know a lot about them. I don't get out much, I prefer to stay at home, but they're really popular with everyone and even have a band. I'm almost a little intimidated by how opposite we are. Though in the Mirror World, their power is staggering. Their lung capacity is unmatched, which I guess makes sense with the amount of instruments they play..."
Dusk: "Archie is one of my closest friends. When they first moved to Casus in high school, they encouraged me to focus more on percussion and getting my feelings out on a drum set. Honestly, I thought they were crazy at first, but I find myself tapping drumsticks on tables when I need to relax. When they asked me to be part of their band, I was stunned - I can't even read sheet music, but they saw my potential. They see potential in everyone. It's rare to find a person so dedicated to being your best self like Archie is,"

Archie discovered the Mirror World the most recently of the group, working closely with their friend and bandmate, Dusk. When he was late to a rehearsal, they were shocked and decided to follow him for a few days. Dusk eventually had to admit he was helping Yhat in the Mirror World, making Archie involved.
What influences Archie Tissera to protect the public and go through The Mirror World?
The Mirror World takes all the joy and energy out of the people who fall in. Gwendolyn Summertree, commonly referred to as Gwen or Gwendie, is a veterinary student at Casus College of International Arts, and runs a sanctuary and petting zoo on her aunts property.
╰┈➤[≈] Description
What is Gwen Summertree's physical appearance?
Gwen is 5 feet 4 inches, or 162.56 centimeters. Her skin is a light tan with very warm undertone, sunburns on her nose and cheeks. Her hair is thick, wavy, and layered with a lot of frizz and whisps. She has a curvy and muscley build, accentuated by her work in the fields. She has a normal skin type, decorated with dark brown freckles all over her forehead, cheeks, and nose. She has fractal scarring on her face over her right eye, left of her chin, and over her lip. The scarring goes down her right shoulder, curves mid back down her left hip, and all the way to the heel of her left foot. She has stretchmarks over her stomach from her pregnancy, and a cesarean scar along the underside of her belly.
Prior to entering the Mirror World, her original hair colour was brown, bleached as light as it could go. Her eyes were also brown, but lost pigment due being struck by lightning, turning them a bright blue.
After entering the Mirror World, her bangs took on a bright yellow. The pupils of her eyes became dark blue lightning bolts (⚡︎), referencing her power and past experience.
What is Gwen Summertree's background and history?
Gwen was born in Hiawatha Native Reserve, Ontario, moving to Toronto at a very young age when her father got a job working for the Government of Canada. All she knows is city life - concrete, big buildings, and smog are what truly remind her of home. Growing up she was a dedicated horse girl, looking at any media that involved horses and ponies. She dreamed of living in the countryside and owning farm animals, being a cowpoke just like the people in her favourite TV shows.` In high school she was a cheerleader and part of the student body, being very popular among her peers. She met her husband, Zenibaa, in school, being high school sweethearts throughout its entirety. Immediately after graduation they eloped and had a child, being a sickeningly sweet couple. After visiting some family in Hiawatha, an accident occurred on the way to Toronto, causing the passing of her husband. The trauma was excruciating on Gwen, and to get away from the memories and help her daughter grow up somewhere with nature they moved to Casus on a whim, knowing distant family lived there. Now she lives on a beautiful ranch taking care of her aunts horses and farm animals, raises her daughter, and trying to make the best of what she has.
Who is Gwen Summertree related to? Who is her family?
Gwen lives with her aunts, Andréa Laliberte and Biskane Summertree. The Summertree family has lived in British Columbia for generations, being indigenous to the area. A branch of Summertree's moved to Ontario about a hundred years ago, creating a blended indigenous family of Anishinaabe and Gitxsan peoples. She had never been to Casus, but is connected there very distantly.
Her late husband was Zenibaa Cardinal, her high school sweetheart and love of her life until his untimely passing at the age of 20.
Gwen also has a daughter named Judith-Namid, a three year old girl who is surprisingly stoic for her age.
What sort of activities does Gwendolyn Summertree like?
Gwen loves to party, finding a lot of her joy on the dancefloor. She isn't too focused on the inebration aspect of partying, mostly looking for excuses to show off her moves and outfits. These days she doesn't go out much, preferring to stay at home with her family and animals. She also likes to volunteer her time at organizations and nonprofits, making the lives of others better and more comfortable. Thought she isn't too good at it, she picked up the banjo as a way to pass the time and finds a lot of enjoyment in playing for her friends. When all her work on the ranch is done, she rides her horse Thistle around the town and surprising businesses or restaurants by arriving on horseback. Being around animals makes her the most comfortable, so she tends to sit with them in the stables or fields.
What kind of traits, ticks, or behaviours does Gwen Summertree exhibit?
Gwen is a tough, selfless, and sweet woman, always putting community first. She will always put herself in front of issues to try and soften the blow for anyone involved, even if it hurts her dearly.
She takes on so many duties and responsibilities to try and make up for the failures of her past, in a way helping the community as a form of punishment.
As fun and jovial as she is, she takes doing a good job very seriously. If there is a task, she will complete it and do it as perfectly as possible to make sure things run smoothly.
What does Gwen Summertree want? What prevents her from achieving that goal?
Gwen wants peace, to live for herself and her family. Moving to the country helped a little bit and having a way to save people in The Mirror World gave her a sense of purpose.
The thing that stops her the most is her own trauma regarding her late husband. Every day, she fears hurting her loved ones, or not being there to support them. If she is gone just one day to take care of herself, how will she know if everyone else is okay? The fear of not being perfect paralyzes her.
How does Gwen Summertree interact with her surroundings?
Gwen is always respectful of other peoples spaces and items, but has the tendency to be stronger than she thinks - this could mean bumping into someone and knocking them to the ground, or going to pick up a heavy box and easily slinging it over her shoulder. She sees beauty and life in every little object and person in the world, trying to see good in everything to keep her spirits up. She pets every willing animal she meets, cleans up other peoples messes, and volunteers her time to those in need. Sometimes her kindness is to a fault, often neglecting herself in order to support everyone else around her, even if it accidentally hurts her.
What do outsiders think of Gwen Summertree? How does she treat them?
Everyone in Casus knows Gwen is an absolute sweetheart, always helping her neighbours and local community. Cheap entries to the petting zoo, bringing food and materials to new residents of the town, and acting as an unofficial guide to the Casus History Museum - where her aunt Andréa works - she is the number one source of support in the whole valley. Despite her positivity, members of the Church of Doluit Deam do not appreciate the work she does, often seeing her as 'radical' and 'unruly', claiming the museum spreads misinformation and she is a perpetrator. There has been a lot of tension between the Summertree Family and those who practice Doluitism, and when Gwen moved to Casus, she was caught in the crossfire.
What do Gwen Summertree's friends think of her? How does she treat them?
Yhat: "What an absolute fucking gem! She has got to be the strongest person I know. She sacrifices so much to make sure her family and friends are safe, I wish I had an ounce of care she has. I'm lucky to have her as my best friend. Not only is she helpful, but damn does she know how to party! Surprises me every day that Judith is her daughter - she barely cracks a smile, while Gwen is all smiles!"
Archie: "Strong, loyal, fierce, amazing, beautiful... what isn't she? She is the person you go to for advice, to have a shoulder to cry on, to share stories and secrets. And the way she treats kids and animals; it's so obvious she pours her heart and soul into ensuring their happiness and comfort. I wonder if one day someone can do the same for her...maybe I could...? Nah, no way,"
Donnie: "Honestly, I don't know much about her. She is best friends with Yhat, so I see her often and we talk a little outside of acting as Protectors. She seems really nice and I'm happy to connect with her, but it kind of feels like she tries way too hard to make people happy? Does she really need my approval? Oh... that sounds so mean... forget I said anything,"
Dusk: "She is a great friend to have. In this little town it's hard to find someone who cares about health and protecting the public as I do, so we really mesh well both in the Mirror World and daily life. She doesn't work out like I do, but she can for sure rival me in an arm wrestling contest. All the hay bales she throws, the buckets and boxes she moves, the running around she does - she might end up stronger than me! If she joined me at the gym more..."

How does Gwen Summertree's power manifest?
Upon tapping into the Mirror World, Gwen Summertree discovered her powers of Electricity, Shocks, and Lightning. This power likely stems from the incident involving her late husband several years ago, in which she was electrocuted during a storm.
How did Gwen Summertree discover the Mirror World?
Gwen discovered the Mirror World after her friend, Yhat, asked to show her something. They both went to explore, but Gwen got stuck because she did not read the Casus Vallis Historia. What influences Gwen Summertree to protect the public and go through The Mirror World?
Keeping her family safe and away from dangers is and always will be her main goal. There are a lot of people who go missing in Casus, and now that she knows most end up in The Mirror World, she vows to close it off and prevent any more suffering. In a way, going to The Mirror World is an act of redemption and punishment for Gwen, since she feels responsible for her late husbands passing.

Nasyha Zsuu, commonly referred to as Yhat, is a sanitation worker at Casus College of International Arts. Originally he went to college for Visual Arts, though dropped out after his first year. In order to stay close to his peers, he picked up a job as a custodian.
What is Yhat Zsuu's physical appearance?
Yhat is 5 feet 6 inches, or 167.64 centimeters. His skin has an olive undertone, more cool brown. His hair is frizzy and curly, with the left side of his head shaved. The sclera of his eyes have a yellow-red hue to them due to chronic eye illness. He has a skinny build with a light amount of fat on his stomach. He has an oily skin type, making him prone to acne and ingrown hairs. He has very dark hairs on his arms, legs, mustache, and stomach.
Prior to entering the Mirror World, his original hair colour was a deep brown. His eyes were a deep brown.
After entering the Mirror World, his hair colour took on a vibrant green tint. The pupils of his eyes became green X's, likely referencing chemical waste. His tongue was also split down the middle when approached by a creature.
What is Yhat Zsuu's background and history?
Yhat lived in Casus most of his life, arriving to the town at the age of five. Though his exact arrival is unclear, Yhat was found in the W.W. Forest covered in dirt and malnourished. He only knew his first name and birthday, choosing his last name later in life. He was unable to speak English and struggled to trust adults, prone to violent outbursts and hiding in corners. It's assumed he was in the forest for a few days prior to being rescued and taken into a foster home.
Who is Yhat Zsuu related to? Who is his family?
Yhat's foster family was overseed for by Devon Gallagher, often referred to as Mr. Gallagher, a man who worked for Casus City Hall. His foster brother is Tobias "Tobe" Gillespie and his foster sister is Quillard "Quill" Reyfus. He does not communicate with Tobe anymore, but has a very close relationship with Quill, still living together and supporting once another. Yhat and Quill met when Yhat was five and Quill was three.
What sort of activities does Yhat Zsuu like?
Yhat enjoys art, especially in the spray painting medium. He has a huge area in his apartment dedicated to his art supplies, often spending time creating when he is at home. His main interest is in graffiti art, but carries around high quality pencils and sketchbooks with him everywhere he goes.
He enjoys cigarettes, cannabis, alcohol, illicit drugs and activities. He is often seen partying or hanging out around town, sometimes getting into fights.
When he isn't getting into trouble, he enjoys cooking meals for his friends.
What kind of traits, ticks, or behaviours does Yhat Zsuu exhibit?
Yhat is a brash guy, known for being stubborn, headstrong, and kind of a hardass. He likes things to be his way and have control of every situation he is in - whether to keep things easy or make himself feel safe.
As a child he struggled with maintaining friendships due to his unpredictability and anger. Despite this, he was quite academic until the middle of high school.
He doesn't keep very good hygiene practices, and tends to enjoy filth and grime a bit too much.
What does Yhat Zsuu want? What prevents him from achieving those goals?
Yhat craves control and stability, but often is the perpetrator of chaos. Despite his high academic prowess throughout middle school, he faced much hardship in his childhood and teenage years and lost sight of his future.
Halfway through high school, Yhat was caught participating in illicit activity on school grounds, causing his expulsion from Valmous Private School and the rapid decline of his academic life. Originally, he wanted to be a famous artist, creating beautiful murals in cities all around the world. Now, he just wants to be able to survive and help his loved ones along the way.
How does Yhat Zsuu interact with his surroundings?
Yhat does not care for things around him, often vandalizing and breaking public property. He enjoys being an overall menace to authority figures and is highly disrespectful any chance he gets. He is known for making graffiti art all throughout Casus, especially the college grounds. Because he is the head custodian, he considers the college to be his giant canvas, spray painting artwork late into the night and cleaning it up the next morning. He does not care for peoples items appropriately, often handing borrowed things back broken or dirty.
What do outsiders think of Yhat Zsuu? How does he treat them?
Yhat is very popular around Casus, both as a friend and a troublemaker. He is the one people go to when looking for substances, or where the next underground party is. He is also always being watched by the Casus Detective Agency, a group of men who dedicate themselves to keeping Casus safe, comfortable, and happy.
He treats the public mostly with disregard, not caring about hurting a strangers feelings - as long as he gets what he wants and where he needs to go. The only exception to that is with the people he truly cares about; his sister or friends especially. He would sacrifice everything to make sure they were okay.
What do Yhat Zsuu's friends think of him? How does he treat them?
Gwen: "He is actually pretty funny once you get to know him! We met at a club about a year ago, and have been hanging ever since. We both like to party, but I'm more into dancing than the actual partying. Not only is he really good at keeping a situation under control, he knows the right thing to do every time. Plus, he is so nice and caring to my daughter, which immediately showed me how kind he really is."
Archie: "He's pretty neat, albeit a little weird. He seems to really care about his friends and focus on them more than himself. Surprisingly considerate, he even comes to my shows from time to time! He is kind of reckless and I worry one day he will get himself hurt, but with the effort he puts into keeping his friends safe, I will do the same for him!"
Donnie: "He has been my best friend since we were children... I can't remember a time when we weren't together. He is the kindness, smartest, most genuine person you will ever meet. We had a falling out in high school when he was expelled, and he changed a lot since then.. However, I know his whole 'angry guy' thing is a facade - he does it to protect himself. He really is a big softy."
Dusk: "Ugh. He is such a piece of shit. He doesn't clean up after himself, he disrespects strangers, he does really gross things in public - I don't get what people see in him. I feel like I'm stuck with him since all my other friends like him. To be fair, he is pretty good at being a leader and eyeing a situation, but I'm not sure if I can handle his quips."

╰┈➤[☀] Powers
How does Yhat Zsuu's power manifest?
Upon tapping into the Mirror World, Yhat discovered his powers of Acids, Corrosion, and Mould. This power likely stems from his interests and hobbies tending to be unsafe and dirty, and his behaviour being overall toxic. Corrosive material is generated through the pores of his skin and palms of his hands. He is able to throw globs of waste, create toxic spores that burn from the inside, and eat away at many materials.
How did Yhat Zsuu discover the Mirror World?
Yhat discovered the Mirror World in his late teens after a bender at a party, falling through a Mirror Pool. The only reason he was able to come back home is because he read the Casus Vallis Historia with his sister, Quill. He was unaware that he was in another world and assumed he was 'tripping', and did not know it was more common for people to be stuck and unable to return home.
What influences Yhat Zsuu to protect the public and go through The Mirror World?
Yhat does not know who his birth family is, and greatly cherishes his time with his foster family. Mr. Gallagher opened his home to orphaned children in Casus, and that influenced Yhat to protect his loved ones just as he did. Despite his overall harsh behaviour, he doesn't want the entire town to experience hardship and puts himself in the forefront of danger knowing he can handle it better than most others.
The one part of the Mirror World that is most alike Casus Vallis, enough to even share its namesake; The Blunderlands. Unlike Casus Vallis however, the reflected beings flow through these forests freely. If they fall through the Mirror Pool in these lands, they remain here, thus many Reflections are acquainted with the area.
∘₊✧──────────────────✧₊∘
╰┈➤[1] Garbage Dam
A mangy mutt of a man built a dam of filth, trash, and dead wood, hoarding water on his property for himself. He lives in the middle of his dam, and chases off anyone who gets near.
╰┈➤[2] Dead Forest
Another piece of land with no live trees. In fact, most of the trees have been cut down for the dam nearby. It is more of a clearing these days.
╰┈➤[3] Spirit of The Columbidae
A Reflection with incredible power lives on these grounds, rumoured to travel between Casus Vallis and the Mirror World. A Spirits powers manifest within the Mirror World, and are able to leak into the real world. Reflections who accept the powers of the Mirror World no longer age, but those who are able to openly traverse between the worlds and gain a dedicated connection to both may be imbued with a Spirit of An Animal. Animals are known to be wary of the Mirror World. Though rare, if an animal makes their way through a Mirror Pool, they can connect with Reflections and the land itself, gaining powers of their own. The combination leads to beautiful magic.
The Spirit of The Columbidae, or the breed relating to doves and pigeons, has claimed the entire forest as their own. Just as pigeons were released into the cities despite being domesticated birds, The Spirit was let go on their own and made to care for themself with no experience.
╰┈➤[4] Corpse of The Doluit Deam
A giant set of bones. The real corpse of the Doluit Deam. When she sacrificed herself to protect Casus Vallis, her body fell into the Mirror World, falling through a pool of her own tears. Reflections pay their respects by crying at her feet or providing viscera from the Blood Pool and Flesh Harvest.
╰┈➤[5] Tree of Protection Destruction
A giant tree with flourishing, colourful leaves. Morphing in the bark is the face of a kind individual, offering support and services if the Reflections give them the offerings meant for the Doluit Deam. Most new Reflections are naive enough to do so, and upon providing the offerings are met with a painful demise - becoming the very trees that reside in the forest. Knowledgable Reflections know to ignore and step away. They are labelled as 'protective' because they stand right at the entrance of the Doluit Deam's corpse, but everyone knows their true goal is destruction.
╰┈➤[6] Untouched Campground
A campground with tents, picnic baskets, tables, and firepits. Everything sits like a family is present, but it is abandoned. A thick layer of moss and dust grows over every item in the clearing. Reflections don't get close to it, fearing who may be residing in secret.
╰┈➤[7] Fallen Castle (Mirror Pool)
A castle that once housed a monarch who ruled the Mirror World. Like how the Priestess looked over Casus Vallis, a ruler looked over everyone until Sacral overthrew them. The castle stands abandoned and open to the elements, large stone bricks and slabs crumbling throughout the whole area. Some rooms within the castle are intact, holding secrets of the Mirror World's inception.
╰┈➤[8] Ink Pond
A massive pond with black waters. It bubbles with mysterious gas and reeks with the stench of death. Much like Dead Man's Pond in Casus Vallis, the waters filter from the Doluit Deam's corpse, implying the waters are comprised with her decomposing innards.
╰┈➤[9] Rotten Cave
A cave where Ink Pond's water filters through. The cave drips with the same inky black fluid. Reflections don't enter it, too afraid of becoming one with it.
These lands also belong to Sacral, though is scarcely used. At a point in time, it housed followers of Sacral's doctrine. After they moved within the palace, it became a place of weapon testing when the war was forged between Sacral's Domain and The Refuge. Nowadays, the lands are desolate and empty, mostly scattered with creatures and unknown horrors. Several centuries before the followers and weapons testing, there were reflected beings that lived here, trying to do what they once did in their old home of Casus Vallis; farm and tend the land. The lands here are quite the opposite (as expected), often sucking all life out of any crops grown.
∘₊✧──────────────────✧₊∘
╰┈➤[1] The Isolated Cottage
A cottage surrounded by deep caverns. How does anyone get here? It doesn't seem to be housed...
╰┈➤[2] Dead Forest
All the trees have no leaves, and have warped faces embedded in the bark. Some hypothesize it is a Reflections graveyard and that is why the trees refuse to sprout buds.
╰┈➤[3] Collapsed Buildings
Once homes for farmers and followers, they now sit decrepit and abandoned. Sacral tested weaponry on the buildings to determine their effectiveness, quickly leaving the homes uninhabitable.
╰┈➤[4] Abandoned Farmland
Back when farmers used to try and grow crops, these were populated. The only truly successful plant that grew was potatoes considering their resiliency in any climate. Unfortunately, the farmers were chased out by Sacral's followers and left to rot.
╰┈➤[5] Weapon Testing
Where Sacral and his people would aim their weapons or place their bombs. Self explanatory.
╰┈➤[6] Looming Cliff
A giant cliff that hovers over the whole area. Attached to the rest of the mountain. Reflections used to climb it and search for ore, but now stands there and looks pretty.
A century ago, these lands used to be ruled by Sacral, who would trap the people who fell through the mirror pools and train them to fight for him. A few decades later, it was claimed by Noel, who acted as an underling to Sacral until he gained enough power for himself. After many tense battles, the land was claimed by residents who did not want to succumb to the horrors of the Mirror World, and has become a rare safe haven in these corrupt parts. The Reflections here have dedicated their lives to rescuing other Reflections from residing domains, and guiding them back home with the new help of The Protectors - a group of youth who can traverse between the worlds.
∘₊✧──────────────────✧₊∘
╰┈➤[1] Research Centre
Reflections reclaimed this science building and refurbished all the tech equipment within it, previously belonging to Noel. The building is used to study materials found throughout the Mirror World, search for other residents in need of rescue, finding a permanent solution to bringing people home, and preventing both Sacral and Noel's plans from succeeding.
╰┈➤[2] Weaponry
A series of cannons pointed at Noel's Domain, and ready to move in position to Sacral's incase of another outburst.
╰┈➤[3] Base of Operations
A series of tents and shelters where self-appointed warriors and mages plan their attacks and monitor the surrounding area. Often use sonar from the Research Centre. Have some more benefit being outside; better surveillance.
╰┈➤[4] Neverending Waterfall
A waterfall of murky, dirty anti-water, dropping all the way down the cavern. It has no apparent destination. Some Reflections have fallen in, never to be seen again. It's pretty hard to come back from a cavern.
╰┈➤[5] Clearance Centre
Where newcomers to the refuge are checked for weapons, tracking devices, or ulterior motives. Kind of like a quarantine prior to encountering the rest of the Reflections.
╰┈➤[6] Reclaimed Rings (Mirror Pool)
Sacral built the rings to hypnotize anyone who walked through. After the takeover, the powers that infected the trees were treated by powerful mages who gave the plants new life. They now bear fruit, able to feed residents in the refuge. Sacral has rebuilt his tree rings on his own property. A Mirror Pool sits between the rings, and though it is rare for someone to come through, it happens now and again.
╰┈➤[7] Spirit of The Fox Statue
The warrior who kept the Reflections of this space safe for generations. The statue was built in his honour for his sacrifice and courage standing up to the two domains.
╰┈➤[8] Support Centre
Where Reflections can receive medical treatment, especially those new to the Mirror World. New arrivals are debriefed on their situation, basically that they might never return home. They are fed, cleaned, and directed to their place of residence, ready to fight against the domains.
╰┈➤[9] Tents
Where many residents live. Being outside makes it easy to hear surrounding fights and dangers.
╰┈➤[10] Laboratory (Mirror Pool)
Noel's first point of contact upon his arrival in the Mirror World. Built an extravagant lab with much of his equipment from Casus Vallis. His ex-followers and defecting Reflections overtook the lab for themselves, now using it in extension with the Research Centre. It is unlikely for people to come through this Mirror Pool, likely because it is not easily accessible from Casus Vallis.
╰┈➤[11] Electrical Gate & Fence
A gate separating the refuge from the Spirit of The Fox's home. Not many Reflections are welcome in, despite the Spirit's supportive efforts in the past.
╰┈➤[12] Dry Marsh
Self explanatory. Some small puddles here and there, but mostly dried up. Tall grasses litter the property.
╰┈➤[13] Spirit of The Fox, Fen Worm
The Spirit of The Fox has not been seen for several decades, assumed to have hid himself in his cottage after helping Reflections claim this piece of land. It is not known if he still resides in Casus.
The first reigning leader - according to what history is found within the Mirror World's books, owns these lands. Sacral, known previously as Matthias Baekland, was once a scholar in the late 1800s attending Casus College of International Arts. Merely a month before his graduation, he fell into the Mirror World and never made it back out, the dread and agony of never succeeding eating at him for the rest of his life - and perhaps anti-life? Some people in the Mirror World will age if they refuse to accept the powers the Mirror World hands them. Sacral, losing himself quickly upon entering, did not age and resigned himself to the Mirror World and its elements. His long-term stay in this world has made him an unintentional leader, controlling the entirety of the Mirror World before Noel's arrival. In contrast with Noel's beliefs, Sacral wants to bring all people into the Mirror World, so that all may have powers and know the daily horrors of this space. The domain mostly stays quiet these days, as it is hard to access without power or a bridge, and no mirror pools are present on the property.
∘₊✧──────────────────✧₊∘
╰┈➤[1] Collapsed Barn
A barn that has fallen in on itself.
╰┈➤[2] Collapsed Silo
A silo that has fallen in on itself.
╰┈➤[3] Defectors Prison
Those who are captured from Noel's Domain, captured from the Mirror's Refuge, or go against Sacral's doctrine, are here. If one dares to oppose the beliefs, they are made to work on the property harvesting blood and flesh from the grounds. The blood and flesh is then used for unknown reasons - Sacral refuses to explain. Any unused blood and flesh is then eaten by the prisoners or used in rituals.
╰┈➤[4] Blood Pool
A pool of blood from an unknown source. Some believe it is the Doluit Deam's blood. It is unclear if this is the truth.
╰┈➤[5] Flesh Harvest
Land surrounding the Blood Pool from an unknown source. Some believe it is the Doluit Deam's flesh. It is unclear if this is the truth.
╰┈➤[6] Trees of Wisdom
If you are unlucky enough to travel through this way, you will walk through a forest of many faces and laughs. They will poke and prod at any being who enters. One must be smart enough to go in with questions for their journey and materials to provide, because going in empty handed and with no goal in mind are bound to the forest, becoming a laughing tree themselves.
╰┈➤[7] Spirit of The Bull, 'Fly' Trap
The Spirit of The Bull, name only known by very few, tends the land of the property. They care for the reflected plant life and use a giant carnivorous plant to protect themself.
╰┈➤[8] Sacral's Council
The high court of Sacral's followers live here. Used to be farms, but was overtaken by Sacral to obtain more land. The property is in shambles, but better inside the houses.
╰┈➤[9] Ring of Sorrows
A series of trees that can hypnotize people upon entry. Used to be located in the Mirror's Refuge, but was overthrown by independent Reflections. Sacral then got the efforts of The Spirit of The Bull to regrow the tree rings, now more dangerous than ever. There are many skeletons littering the area in front of Sacral's Palace.
╰┈➤[10] Dead Field
An open, dead field. There is nothing of note here, except that it overlooks the prison and the Ring of Sorrows.
╰┈➤[11] Dead Courtyard
A courtyard that was used in the past, now mostly laying dead and forgotten.
╰┈➤[12] Sacral's Palace
The Mirror World's longest surviving Reflection, Sacral, is at least 110 years old. He was the leading reign within the land and dealt with a harsh but true nature. Upon Noel's arrival, Sacral took him in as a desciple, but was quickly betrayed by him. Now, Sacral rules a quickly diminishing domain, trying to overtake what little land he has left. His palace is one of the few things that can not be reached by those within Noel's Domain. Large buildings in the shape of spikes protrude from the ground, making for terrifying pillars where Sacral and his followers teach their doctrine.
Those who fall into the Mirror World may be unlucky enough to end up in the domain of the most corrupt leader. Noel Sheen (also known as The Announcer by Reflections), once a terrible man who lived in Casus Vallis, is known for his cutthroat, degrading, and filthy methods of maintaining power. In Casus, he was a bum with a drug addiction and fascination with building new technology, and upon discovering the potential of the Mirror World and its energy, used it to fuel his experimentations. When that wasn't enough, he made the difficult decision to leave his crimes behind and delve into the reflective pool in his laboratory, never turning back. Despite being here for a "short" period of time (about 30 years), he has gained a prolific reputation and enough power to overtake much of the land. Noel's main goal is to unite the Mirror World and the Real World, wanting his crimes and chaos to be commonplace. He craves power. He craves control. And to do that, he will stop anyone in his path.
∘₊✧──────────────────✧₊∘
╰┈➤[1] Sacrificial Cavern
For those who dedicate their life to Noel and his mission, they are blessed with the opportunity to sacrifice their Reflection to the Doluit Deam (though, it is unconfirmed if Noel truly does his actions for Her Grace or not). Not only is it a place for holy sacrifice, but is a place for those who dare to go against or disallow Noel's teachings. No one has come up from there, so it is assumed all who fall are dead.
╰┈➤[2] Sacrificial Cliff
Prior to being thrown in the cavern, the members of Noel's domain follow the rites of passage for the sacrifice. They will undergo a warm goodbye to their peers before being thrusted into the unknown. If you're unlucky enough not to be granted passage, you are simply ridiculed on the cliff before being kicked in.
╰┈➤[3] Concrete Lattice
A tall concrete fence that lines the whole college. It was built to provide distinction from Noel's grounds and that of commoners.
╰┈➤[4] College of Unification
Where Noel and the heads of his domain teach followers the power of his doctrine. Upon discovering the Mirror World, Noel began gathering people and sharing with them what advancements could be made with the biproducts. In his many years in Casus Vallis, he sent several people into the world of Reflections. In his time in the Mirror World, he convinced many Reflections to follow his lead. The College of Unification preaches of that with the power and abnormal science of the Mirror World, and the normalcy and advancements of the Real World, we can create true harmony (or chaos) - all people would be their own Reflections, their true selves, and reach pique magical performance. Noel acts as headmaster, considering it is his genius and use his technological findings that made the Mirror World more accessible to Casus Vallis. First, he must gather as many followers as he can. The more people on his side, the better.
╰┈➤[5] Gate to College
A tall, looming entrance that blocks people from entering the College of Unification. Only students, those of high authority, or those of some use to Noel may enter.
╰┈➤[6] Fountain of Doluit Deam
A fountain with a skull replicating the Doluit Deam's. It dispenses Mirror Fluid from it's eyes and mouth, to signify her sacrifice to ensure stability through the whole of Casus Vallis and the Mirror World.
╰┈➤[7] Market
The commoner Reflections will often sell their wares here; despite being a land of dismal magic, people still have to find a way to survive. This includes selling mirrored produce, clothing, weapons, tools, essentials, and many other necessities.
╰┈➤[8] Powers Nursery
For those who awaken their true power, they attend the Powers Nursery. Despite its name, it isn't a space exclusively for kids. It is there to nurse newcomers or new followers of Noel's practices and educate them on the basics of the world. They will learn to harness their inner power and use to to protect Noel or fight against those who oppose him.
╰┈➤[9] Office of Wires
A place of miscellaneous wires, tech, and lab testing equipment. Was once a place of use, now sits uncontrollable. At some point, Noel used it to study the effects of the Mirror World and the 'magic' it had, but those tests quickly turned volatile. The office now lays dormant, emanating a fearful energy. Anyone who has gone in there hasn't come out.
╰┈➤[10] Auditorium
A place where announcements and performances are held. It is quite like what people would see in Casus Vallis. It isn't used much, but sometimes if there is important domain-focused meetings.
╰┈➤[11] The Tumor
A rotten, veiny, pulsating mass of flesh that continues to survive. It sucks out the energy of The Shrine of Doluit Deam and Neighbourhood Head. It is said to be the only living piece of the Doluit Deam left, though it is up for debate.
╰┈➤[12] The Shrine of Doluit Deam (Mirror Pool)
In Casus Vallis, The Church of Doluit Deam holds religious practices. In the Mirror World, it is much darker - all offerings provided from the church in the real world will then provide strength and nourishment to The Tumor in the Mirror World. It has become a shrine to watch in amazement as The Tumor feeds on whatever is provided to it.
╰┈➤[13] Neighbourhood Head
When Noel is busy, all concerns are brought to the Neighbourhood Head. Much like City Hall on the Casus Vallis side, it acts as a place for finding your way around the area and educating you on its government. It also holds some Reflection-specific artefacts for the newcomers to learn.
╰┈➤[14] Acolyte Boarding
For Reflections who want to dedicate themselves to magics and theory, ways to uncover history, and find the way to unite worlds. Often compared to witches or mages.
╰┈➤[15] Newcomer Boarding
After newcomers and new followers graduate from the nursery, they come here. This is where they learn the basics of the Mirror World, it's assumed conception, and give their thanks to Doluit Deam.
╰┈➤[16] Mercenary Boarding
For Reflections who want to dedicate themselves to protecting Noel and relying on their physical magic. Often compared to soldiers or guards.
╰┈➤[17] Rotten Forest (Mirror Pool)
Rotten, decaying trees surrounding a Mirror Pool. Reflections that fall here can see the town pretty close by, but often go insane and instead wander the forest for ages before finally reaching civilization.
╰┈➤[18] School of Fighting
For Reflections who use their magic to channel into melee and weaponry. If you have experience with swords in the real world, you may use your power to accentuate the weapons.
╰┈➤[19] Colosseum
Grounds for Fighting, controlled by Noel. Reflections will offer themselves to fight against creatures imbued with magic. Sometimes, Reflections are forced to fight. Often ends in bloodshed. It is mostly a way for Noel to get sick entertainment.
╰┈➤[20] School of Magicks
For Reflections who use their magic in more grandiose ways, affecting the area around them more outwardly. Can still channel their powers into tools, but the magic will often shoot out from the tool.
╰┈➤[21] Factory of Creation
Reflections who have harnessed their power are asked to imbue whatever their main power is into creatures to prepare them for fighting. For example: if someone contains the power of ice, they will use ice to provide magic to the creatures, causing them to go mad and grow into true monsters.
╰┈➤[22] Monster Cavern
Where Reflections and Noel's followers find their creatures. Often it is animals that have fallen into a Mirror Pool and are shoved down here for collection later.
╰┈➤[23] Collapsed Factory (Mirror Pool)
Was once a factory much like the one in Casus Vallis - used wood from the Mirror World forests to create goods, furniture, and necessities. Unfortunately, the trees are mostly rotted and unfit for material, so the factory went mostly unused. It is one of the few buildings in the area that is a carbon copy of what is found in Casus.
The Mirror World is a dismal piece of land, completely isolated from the real world. It is stuck within its mountains and caverns, no way to escape without death. While Casus Vallis has a road to exit the town, there is no exiting this place. It is an island surrounded by deep, endless pits with countless bodies littering the bottom. The towns people of Casus Vallis do not know of this place, and if they do, they work really hard to pretend it does not exist or hide it from the rest of their community.
It isn't known when or how this place was formed, near impossible to determine its true history. It is a paranormal anomaly that can only be accessed from Casus Vallis' natural reflective ponds, commonly referred to as Mirror Pools. The Mirror World holds the reflections of townspeople in Casus Vallis, shadowy and empty souls wandering its streets.
If people are unlucky enough to end up in The Mirror World, they are stuck there, taking over their old reflections and living the rest of their existence channeling that empty soul. Their scleras go black, and they are faced with the harsh reality of never going back home. Most reflections have made peace with their placement, following one of the few leaders in the land.
Those who have studied the history of Casus Vallis are able to manipulate the powers that The Mirror World provides, and wholeheartedly accepting the pains of the land lend people an unspeakable power - no longer aging, unbelievable strength, and a bloodthirsty perspective.
The Mirror World changes people, usually for the worst. The biology and chemistry of the nature is impossible by the real worlds standards - examining objects shows that everything is made of antimatter, which hypothetically would make any matter completely annihilated. Antimatter should not survive contact with beings, but The Mirror World is a true reflection of the world.
Each subarea of The Mirror World is separated by deep cliffs, difficult to move through unless you can move between Mirror Pools. In this place, there is no peace, no harmony, and no comforts.
∘₊✧──────────────────✧₊∘
╰┈➤ The first map depicts the whole town, without labels, just to view its basic appearance.
╰┈➤ The second map depicts how each community in The Mirror World is separated. There may some intersecting, though it is difficult to do so.
╰┈➤ To read specific points on each sub group in the town, look below!
A dangerous and frightening forest. Each decade, the forest grows closer to the town and overtakes the farmlands, despite people trying to trim it down. It escalates up the mountain, shadowing the town and reminding residents of their small size. It holds many secrets and pieces of history, that new residents have no idea about. If you look closely, you might see mushrooms or plants moving in weird ways, as if avoiding humans.
∘₊✧──────────────────✧₊∘
╰┈➤[1] The Pit
A place where bad influences tend to hang out - a safe area where people can do drugs, drink freely, and blast annoyingly loud music. Covered in spray painted artwork, huge sticks positioned into makeshift statues, and trash littered all over the place. It borders on the Blunderlands Forest entrance, so most people are too nervous to approach, making it perfect for people to let loose and have fun.
╰┈➤[2] Abandoned Shed
Right on the edge of the forest, this is an unknown and suspicious shed. No one has went in for decades. Covered in weeds, vines, and tall grass. Even people with experience in the forest don't go anywhere near this shed.
╰┈➤[3] Glass Pond
A crystal clear pond with several beautiful fish, where the rocks carry a beautiful non-metallic luster. The waters filter from further into the forest from the Magma Doluit Deam, leaving it with a glittery shimmer. Sometimes, college students will swim and skinny dip, though residents push people not to go near it. Anything near the Blunderlands Forest is always risky to examine... but the water is eerily hypnotizing.
╰┈➤[4] Mountain Strip
A cliff with vertical rock, steep and intimidating. It has beautiful grooves that stretch all around the mountain. Before the forest escalated further into the farmlands, residents used to rock climb the strip, but now sits unused.
╰┈➤[5] Magma Doluit Deam
A statue depicting the leading religious diety of Casus, Doluit Deam. The Goddess' eyes drip with a metalic, shiny fluid, pouring into her hand and into the waters below, a beautiful waterfall with emotional implications. It was built several centuries ago and was worshiped by residents before the forest overgrew the area, with the water being used for several rituals. Now it is largely forgotten by residents, hidden within the forest and untouched for generations. The water is like a reflective mirror, filtering all throughout the town...
╰┈➤[6] Priestess Quentin's Castle
An abandoned castle, overgrown with weeds. Used to house the reigning Priestess of Casus Vallis, Priestess Quentin. Leading the land over the 19th century, she was said to have a personal connection to the Doluit Deam. Monarchy was introduced to Casus by settlers, and Priestess Quentin was a native villager who used her connections to rule the town peacefully. Histories don't know exactly how the Priestess passed, but some claim she was assassinated for her radical and progressive views. Almost immediately after her passing, the college was in works to be planned by a stranger.
╰┈➤[7] Priestess Clearing
Used to be a campground when the forest was not as scary. Before the woods overgrew the area, the campground was bustling. Now it is simply an empty clearing, with plant life refusing to grow. Casus history books claim that the Priestess and her knight often rested in this clearing, sharing romantic moments... though they were star-crossed lovers.
╰┈➤[8] Dead Man's Pond
A huge pool of water, murky and stinky. While Glass Pond is clear and safe to drink, Dead Man's Pond is full of filth and dead fish. Gas emanates from the waters, and any bugs that fly by die pretty quickly. The waters filter from the Magma Doluit Deam. Surprisingly, the only living creatures are frogs and toads, which do not follow a normal diet. Suspicious...
╰┈➤[9] Marshlands Cave
A cave where Dead Man's Pond's waters filter through. The cave drips with red, harsh-smelling fluid, and has the nickname 'Bleeding Cave' or 'Decomp Cave'. People don't like it because it stinks REAL bad in there, but there is a lot of plant life and creatures to explore.
╰┈➤[10] Marshlands
Filled with amphibians and filth, the Marshlands is largely avoided. Back in the late 1960s, a man and his lover were murdered on the land, their bodies decomposing into the marsh and only being found months later. People say his spirit still stalks the waters, so people don't get too close. The cave and marsh are closely connected, all the waters coming from the Magma Doluit Deam.
╰┈➤[11] Willow Residence
The home of Seth Willow. Nobody talks to him, nobody knows him. People who have seen him claim he doesn't age, and has lived there for decades. Don't get close to him.
Farmers - the community within Casus that keeps everyone and everything afloat. Without their agricultural efforts, Casus would have collapsed centuries ago. Many farmers in Casus are followers of the Doluit Deam, the goddess of the pained and agonized. Her tears and sacrifice have blessed the lands with lush and fruitful soil, making the crops always successful. Despite the support they bring to Casus, they are constantly at odds with The Valmous Properties and Family, who want to buy out their land to build a shopping mall and more houses. They already took the orchard and capitalized on its success, so the farmers are adamant about protecting their land, no matter how much money Valmous Family offers. Luckily, The Farmers Association and Summertree Family are great supports for one another, often working together on improving the lands and fostering healthy relationships.
∘₊✧──────────────────✧₊∘
╰┈➤[1] Sheen Residence and Properties
Once a flourishing area with farm animals, over the past decades the land has faced hardship. In the 1970s, a lowly farmer with an unfitting degree in engineering by the name of Noel Sheen tended the soil. While his garden was successful, his personality was left wanting, with Casus residents avoiding him like the plague. Coincidentally, around this time there were many cases of missing people, a lot of them being students. To this day, there is a steady amount of people going missing, despite Noel being missing for well over three decades. Now, the nephews of Noel Sheen live in the home, with the oldest brother, Andrew (Andy) Sheen, tending the farm.
╰┈➤[2] Old Barn (Mirror Pool)
An old, decrepit, abandoned barn that once held horses. It hasn't been used in several decades, with grass and vines growing across the walls. The door is caved in, and wild animals have claimed it as their own. In desperate need of a clean!
╰┈➤[3] Tomatoes
Tomato crops! Flourishing thanks to the wonders of Doluit Deam.
╰┈➤[4] Grapes
Grape crops! Flourishing thanks to the wonders of Doluit Deam.
╰┈➤[5] Alfalfa
Alfalfa crops! Flourishing thanks to the wonders of Doluit Deam.
╰┈➤[6] Olives
Olive crops! Flourishing thanks to the wonders of Doluit Deam.
╰┈➤[7] Water Tower
An extremely tall water tower. Used to maintain appropriate water pressure throughout Casus and its building. Because it is located in the valley of the mountainous region, the water pressure is quite weak for the cabins in the neighbouring suburbs, so they often rely on well water. The water tower was made as an afterthought, truthfully - the town is several years behind.
╰┈➤[8] Winona Florals, Gardens, and Landscapes
A lovely and peaceful woman named Winona-Amber Atherton is a dedicated florist and gardener, offering her services Casus-wide. She has been a pillar to the Farmers Association committee for decades, acting as a unofficial leader when protecting the farmers from The Valmous Family and The City Government. Some claim her strength and love for Casus is otherworldly...
