There are few as shameless as a cat in the sun.

I woke up at 2:30 A.M. and found my cat in the living room slurping up water from the Christmas tree stand.

"I can't sleep," I told him.

"It's no biggie," he answered. "We cats are known to be night owls. Hang out."

"Do the owls know about this?"

"Don't be an ass," he said. "It's just an expression."
