Okay so, due to my akotsk scifi AU I am thinking about Star Trek: Deep Space 9 and I truly believe that Captain Sisko would be a great character inspiration for a King Baelor. Not just scifi Baelor but regular akotsk Baelor.

Captain Sisko is a good man, a truly good an honorable man thrust into his position after tragedy and war. He is trying to keep everything together as war looms over him and even becomes a real issue. He's a single father after the tragedy of losing his wife. He is divinely blessed and got his position partially because of it. Most of all, he had to do terrible things for the sake of winning a war and protecting the people under his care.

This monologue is perfect for a post 2nd Blackfyre Rebellion King Baelor. A man who had to sacrifice his honor and morals to get allies to win the war. To protect.

Captain Sisko has another quote, "It's easy to be a saint in paradise," which is something I fully believe would be something Baelor would say to any noble who never had to face war. Hell, probably even said it to other Targaryens, to himself, when thinking about Dunk and what he's had to do to live while Baelor was called honorable when all he's done is live in a castle. It's easy to be honorable when its never been tested.

okay so my thought was, modern AU, Maekar and his maekarlings are supposed to fly over to their family friends the Ashfords for Gwin's week-long birthday celebration and Egg is being a little shit about it, and manages to get Home Alone'd on purpose via tricking Daeron. Dunk thinks he's lost when he sees him running around in the city by himself and tries to help. Finally things get sorted out and his dear Uncle Baelor who was about to head out on a leisurely road trip anyway offers to take a little side detour to take Egg to Maekar, it'll take a day or two but what can ya do. Dunk is also coincidentally soon heading out that way for college reasons with his backpack and Greyhound ticket, but Baelor won't hear of this nice young man being stuck in a bus for days when he was so kind and went out of his way helping Egg, he's got room in the car after all. Shenanigans ensue.
