Tet Trung Thu 2014
So, this past weekend was Tet Trung Thu (Mid-Autumn Festival). My new temple and youth group family, GDPT Chanh Kien, hosted a Mid-Autumn Festival for all the little children in the neighborhood on Saturday, where they got to enjoy playing games, such as, Tug-a-War and candy-picking. The kids later enjoyed entertainments, such as Lion Dancing and a Vietnamese Traditional Dance performed members of my youth group, including me. Each child got take home a free moon cake and a lantern after the festival.
The next day, my youth group's Vietnamese Traditional Dance team and I, performed at another Mid-Autumn Festival in the neighborhood, at the City Heights Public Library. This wasn't just another performance but it was a competition against other dance teams. The other dance team that competed, was a group of children dancing hip-hop to Michael Jackson. After our performance, we thought that we didn't performed as well as we did the night before at our temple, due to the fact that we were missing 2 other dancers due to work and that we had a lot of mistakes during the performance. When it was time to announce the result of the competition, much to our surprise, we had gotten 1st Place and won $500!!! :D It was the one of the best weekend that anyone could have asked for.
WONDERFUL JOB GDPT CHANH KIEN'S THIEU NU!!!! <3
