it’s actually really fascinating to me that
roses originally grew almost sideways, their thorns intended to be used as hooks to expand and spread, their petals were limited to five and their fragrance was overpowering. they attracted wildlife, creatures, birds, anything to them. their intent was to propagate like an idea.
humans then bred them to have more petals, to grow upright and therefore require excessive pruning just to remain upright, and then the thorns became largely superfluous
then, when those newly bred roses needed plucking and pruning, and humans pricked their fingers on the thorns, guess what happened?
the rose became this dual figure of bloom enticing and thorn rejecting, it became an idea of things that don’t add up, that bring you closer and cut you
when in reality, humans did this to themselves and in doing so, did this to the rose

Millet’s Wheelchair & Medical Fund!
This very special boy is Millet, an old English game bantam cockerel. He’s my mom’s chicken and she loves him a ton! He loves her back and used to sit on the porch and crow until she came out to hold him. He’d follow her around, find special treats, and demand to be cuddled and held by his momma.
Over a month ago, though, little Millet had to come inside when he became very wobbly and ill. We were terrified he had Marek’s disease- and while that isn’t 100% ruled out -we’re pretty sure it’s actually a nutritional deficiency.
We’ve been working with our vet to get him healthy and back on his feet, and while he’s gaining strength he’s been laying down for so long that he’s not really able to walk anymore.
I’ve created a sling and been doing exercises to help him learn to walk again, but it’s going to take more than that. I’m wanting to get him a wheelchair from an Australian company to aid in his recovery.
The wheelchair itself plus shipping isn’t too bad, but going to the vet has been financially exhausting and we could use some help! If you have some spare change and feel like dropping it in my paypal ([email protected]) or my cash app ($RexandQuail) that would be super in helping this special little dude get out and be a chicken again!

@yall I see ignoring this please dont. I get it its upseting, but this is IMPORTANT information that could SAVE our lives and our rights.
Also this boils down to stripping rights away from intersex and trans ppl from what I understand, meaning that we would no longer be protected under federal law. This is scary. Call your reps and get this shut down as soon as you can. We can beat this together. We need each other right now. Share this, spread this information.

call your local senator and representatives! websites like 5calls tell you your national representatives based on your location and if you use their mobile site, you can call those representatives through their site. they don’t yet have hb2796 on their site, but you can use their system regardless!
here is an example of something you can say: “My name is (your name) and I am a constituent in (your town/city/district). I strongly oppose house bill 2796, which aims to remove gender identity protections from civil rights legislation by forcibly clarifying “gender” or “sex” to indicate only a person’s assigned gender at birth. Transgender people require civil rights protections as a vulnerable part of our population, and it is extremely important to me that they receive those protections. Thank you for your time and attention.”
