@morso-di-morte from this meme
How things had turned out the way they did, Dino didn’t know. One second he was joking around with Hibari as usual, then the next thing he knew they were under attack.
He had hoped that no rival family would ever dare attack the school to get at Tsuna and his guardians, but of course nothing ever seemed to go their way when it came to wanting to keep peace.
As soon as the attack happened he threw a glance at Kyoya, knowing just by the glare in his eyes that he was ready to murder whoever it was that attacked his precious school. He took that as a sign that he could leave him alone while he evacuated the school of the innocent.
He was glad his men were always near by and with their help, in only half an hour, it was just Tsuna’s and his families left on the school grounds fighting to protect it. He entrusted Romario to take take of anyone and everything on the first two floors of the school while he quickly ran back to the roof by himself, a risky thing with how clumsy he tended to be without his men, but this was a serious situation that required risks to be taken to result in the least amount of damage.
Once he had made it back where he had left his student, he quickly went into action. Kyoya had been surrounded by at least five men, and he honestly wasn’t surprised that he was able to handle them well by himself, although he could tell he was growing tired. He knew with that, that he had made it back in time to save the boy.
A simple crack of his whip brought attention to him and the men easily split themselves up, knowing full well who he was, and that he would be a greater danger than a silly middle school kid who thought he was tough shit.
Dino couldn’t help but laugh a bit at their choice, the had honestly saved themselves from a brutal beating from the teen by picking a fight with him. Having the younger boy around was a lot like having one of his men around luckily, so he wasn’t falling all over the place and making himself an easy target in this fight.
It took less than ten minutes to take down the three men who had attempted to fight him. When he lifted his head up to look towards the wild child and see how he was holding up, figuring he would probably already be done with his targets now that they were only two. And he had been right, the boy had successfully taken down the two older men, but he had also let his guard down.
It was one of his worst habits that the blonde had been working on to change, dropping his guard once his initial victims had been taken down. It always left him open for any long range attacks, which was exactly what was about to happen.
How he hadn’t spotted the sniper earlier he didn’t know, but now he was aware of his presence and aware of the fact that he had Kyoya as his target. He quickly ran towards the teen and pushed him aside as he threw his whip towards the enemy. Pain shooting threw his chest the moment his whip smacked against the mans face.
He had felt the short glare the raven haired boy had thrown at him before he dashed to take out the sniper. He used that moment of absence of the other to let himself fall to his knees as he attempted to steady his breathing.
The pain he felt let him know that his lung had been pierced and breathing would not be a simple task anymore.
He didn’t know how long he had been trying to force himself to breath steadily when he suddenly heard his students voice. "Idiot horse. Quit playing. You've sustained worse injuries."
He did his best to smile his usual smile at the teen while he reached out to retrieve his whip from him, he was glad to know that he had picked it up after probably nearly killing the sniper. Judging by his tone of voice and choice of words, he wasn’t aware of the fact that he had been shot, and he’d keep it that way until he made it to the hospital.....if he made it to the hospital.
“You’re right haha. Sorry, just tired from all the running.” He spoke through heavy breaths as he slowly picked himself up, trying not to lose his balance from the blood loss, keeping the wound hidden as best as he could with his jacket.
She nodded slowly, a bit nervous about starting the lessons. What if she mispronounced something? That would be embarrassing…
“Okay…I don’t mind that.”
Dino smiled brightly at the mist guardian, hoping that it would help calm her nervs a bit. He knew she was very timid and rarely opened up, but if she wanted to continue in the mafia world, he knew she would have to get over that.
“Good! Let’s sit back where we were previously working on your math then.”

Although nearly everyone irked Hibari and his tolerance for the company of others was spectacularly low, Dino was only slightly more tolerable than the rest of his sorry acquaintances. Still, the bronco bored him when they weren’t fighting. Hibari had won their latest sparring match, but only because the other wasn’t using his full strength and the skylark could tell.
He could also tell that the blond was about to go into a tirade and lecture the teen about how he should think before he dives into a battle and how strategy was just as important, if not more so, as brute strength and determination.
They were words that bore little meaning to the disciplinarian and as such, in an effort to clearly display his disdain for the lecture, Hibari proceeded to fall asleep while the other yammered on and on.
In his sleep, he was then suddenly reminded of his youth and the soft touch of his mother’s slender fingers through his hair as they gently ran through his thick locks of ebony hair and the way her perfectly sculpted fingernails gently scratched at his scalp and turned him into a puddle in his mother’s arms every time.
It was a relaxing sensation and an oddly sweeter dream than he usually conjured up, so when he woke up to see Dino grinning at him like an absolute fool and felt his fingers gently threading through his hair like he was some sort of kitten at his side, his immediate instinct was to punch him right in the face to preserve as much of his dignity as he could.
@cavallonecielo
In an instant, his eyes narrowed, turning deadly while a smirk further tugged up at the corners of his lips.
He watched the “bucking bronco” pick himself up from the floor.
“Such bold words coming from someone who can’t even keep his “student” in line.” The Skylark bit out, calling himself the other’s student with sarcasm absolutely dripping from the word. He’d never acknowledge the man as his teacher. He had no need for such things.
“I never lose.” Though his own words were bold, there was a conviction in his voice that could have convinced even the heaviest of non-believers.
Dino couldn’t help but snicker at the others response. Hibari was like a wild animal that needed to be tamed, one of the hardest ones, but everything could be tamed in due time. What he’d been shown from the future was enough for him to know he succeds anyways no matter what the other believes.
“Hmmm I think you’re still pretty in check compared to how you used to be if you asked me.”
His smirk never faltered as he watched the other closely. If he continued pushing at the others buttons he would end up angering her to the point where he attempts to fight him yet again, which he wouldn’t mind if it meant putting him in his place again.
“I can think of a few times you’ve lost. You could fool anyone but me with that lie.”
“Ah…I’m not very busy.” Which was the truth…without Mukuro-sama, Chrome had little to do. She mostly just read in her spare time.
“I’m free tomorrow, and most of next week.”
“I’ll drop by when I can then, if you’d like we can even start a bit today?”
He wasn’t sure what exactly the girl had to do for the rest of the day, but he hoped she was free, mainly because helping her kept him away from dealing with any paper work that was probably waiting for him at his place.
“Unless they can serve to entertain me, I’ll sever all connections.”
Hibari grinned, but the curl of his lips was more feral than charming in any sense of the word.
The comment was aimed as a jab towards Dino and he meant every word of it. Should Dino cease to be amusing, Hibari would bite him to death and leave it at that. He’d never admit it, but he had a long way to go until then.
“Hmm and here I thought I had finally made myself as needed as Kusakabe. Good thing It’ll be a long time till you catch up to me isn’t it? I’ll be entertaining you for awhile longer.”
He might have been able to make some progress with forming a small bond with the teen, but still it seemed like he had a lot to teach the boy. His only hop was that when the teen finally did catch up to him was that he would still care somewhat about him like he did with Kusakabe.
The dark haired teen simply stared at the other, his cold grin falling from his face slightly. And here he thought Dino understood the mentality of the disciplinarian.
“I am not here to make friends. Those types of relationships only get in the way.”
“No, not friends, but connections are always in your favor.”
No, Hibari would never admit to needing friends or even wanting them. Connections to people who could put up a good fight, that was another thing, after all it was the only thing keeping the two of them close.
“It’s…very nice of you.” She had gotten a bit better at receiving kindness, though it was still rather foreign to her.
“We can start whenever you’d like….” Chrome wasn’t the type to impose and request something, especially in regards to an acquaintance.
“Well, lets compare our schedules and see when’s the next time we’re both free so we can meet then.”
Perhaps helping her learn italian would help her learn to open up a little more to the family and get her to progress as half of the Vongola Mist guardian and not worry about Mukuro as much.

Stormy eyes continued to regard the Italian with intense disdain though the blood that dripped from his broken nose proved satisfactory enough to not deal another strike. He had just been rudely awoken after all, and his will to fight was addled by sleep. Plus, Dino just wasn’t worth it currently as he babbled idiocies and made herbivorous comments.
This man knew better than to look down on him like that if he was going to be unable to defend himself should the beast lunge forward to take a bite. Hibari was no child– he had left that world a long time ago, or rather, he was never brought up in it. If only Dino could get that through his thick skull.
“You do not approach a wild animal unless you know you can outrun it. That was your mistake and it will never be my own.” His tone was veracious as his lean legs made strides toward the fallen bronco.
Dino couldn’t help but chuckle slightly at Kyoya’s reply. He knew well that he could ‘outrun’ him easily, sure he had his moments where he fell, but compared to the rest of the time he stood at a higher position than the boy in his made up food chain.
Though he would never say that to his face or he’d face the skylarks wrath.
A small smile formed on his face as he kept his eyes on the other as he slowly picked himself up from where he layed, careful in case he attempted to fight him.
“Very true Kyoya, I do hope you remember that when you attempt to fight a losing battle.”

@cavallonecielo
He watched Dino writhe on the floor as he clutched his nose all the while he scolded himself for letting his guard down so easily. Hibari was a light sleeper, after all, simply for the fact that he trained himself to always be on alert. The lightest touch usually woke him, but he couldn’t quite explain why he’d had such a delayed reaction after the idiot bronco ran his hands through his hair.
He was getting too comfortable, he decided as his steel gaze narrowed to a glare.
“Good. It’s a reminder to keep your hands to yourself unless you want them bitten off.”
Dino only blamed himself for letting his guard down when seeing the others calm face. He couldn’t help himself though, after all, despite everything he had been through, Hibari was still just a kid, or well teen. Seeing such a face would honestly make you forget just how deadly he could be.
He removed his hand from his nose and was not surprised to see blood staining his hand. He sighed softly after the pain subsided.
“Sorry Kyoya. Honestly, you would have done the same to a wild deadly animal.”
//school and work have come to bite me in the butt. Sorry for not being active this week. Will get to replies this weekend
Hibari sneered. How absolutely domestic and tender-hearted it was of the other to hope for such a thing.
“Unsatisfied with the state of our relationship?”
His response was sarcastic, but what more had Dino been expecting? Hibari hardly took the other seriously unless they were in the middle of a fight. He simply did not have the patience or desire for niceties and caring like that.
“Well, yeah in a way I guess.”
He knew he was being nothing but sarcastic, it was rare when Kyoya was anything other than sarcastic when it came to talking and getting along with people but he was pretty spot on with what he said.

Dino had been pacing back and forth lecturing the other, telling him the good and bad from their training just now. Of course Hibari had used his usual brute strength and determination to try to win, but that simply wasn’t going to work. He knew Hibari had it in him to be a lot stronger than just brute strength and if he got it through his head and actually listened he’d be able to kick Mukuros ass.
He was half way through explaining how it would help him when he heard a small snore, he quickly turned to look at him and a small smile crossed his face. The teen had fallen asleep against the tree trunk and he couldn’t help but crouch down in front of him and run his hand through his hair. It was the first time he had ever seen such a peaceful look on his face that wasn’t brought out by a small animal.
Not long after he began playing with the others hair was he suddenly greeted with a fist to his face. The proximety and full force behind it was great, and judging from the strong pain on his nose, it was broken. Great. He honestly should have known better than to have gotten to close and of course done such a thing.
“Ow ow ow!! Kyoya that hurt!!”
