Just me, myself, and I

Well, for the first time ever, I will be spending the holidays alone, just me, myself, and I, despite having plans to the contrary. Would that it were otherwise, but you know, thems the brakes, right? What self pity I will indulge in will be found at the bottom of a few drinks, safely consumed in my own home, while fending off the overzelous attentions of my fuzzy horde. I'm sure there will be some, tis the season after all, but...it could be worse. Which I guess is the whole point of it all, right? It could be worse. Any first world citizen, no matter what, could always plummet a lot farther down on the "things that suck hard core" scale, so, just because life isn't fucking peachy keen doesn't mean it's truly as bad as this ol' globe's got. As they say in theater, the show will go on.

We're at it again

No shit.

Sometimes, even if you do learn, you don't learn the right lessons or all that there was to learn, so you get to repeat your fuck ups, again and again and again. Aren't you lucky? I'd be envious or jealous or some dumb shit like that, but I'm busy fucking shit up again on my own. There's only so much fucking up that one body can handle at a time.

Literally, I feel sick. My stomach is a mess, I keep crying. Emotionally I canfeelmyself trying to push away and pull closer, at the same time. I can even diagram how I get here:

As with every relationship, it starts off SO strong - getting behind at work because we were spendingthatmuch time talking, blow thru more than 1000 texts in days, compliments, jokes, and "god I can't wait to see you again" from both sides.

It always happens, that taper off. Both sides come to their senses a little with the "Oh shit, I have to like, work," conversations are reduced to fewer sentences, lol's take over.

I start to feel like I'm a bother. Even statements that I'm not don't convince me that I'm not.

Conversations continue to reduce.

I start to go crazy, feel myself sliding closer to that escape hatch. Feel un. Feel like I can't talk about it to the one person that I should because, oh yeah, we weren't supposed to get emotionally attached and neither of us want a relationship anyway...

I fade farther away. Cry more. Un times 10.

PAPER CHAIN PROJECT

- For every day you go without self harming or purging, add a colourful link to the paper chain - If you relapse, just add a white link to to the chain and carry on the chain without any disruption - Over time the paper chain will grow in length and you can see your progress, and see that even if you do relapse, the are still days you go without hurting yourself. The colourful links. - Over time and through your recovery watch the amount of coloured links begin to increase, and the amount of white links begin to decrease. - If you feel like hurting yourself, look at the paper chain and realise just how far you’ve made it, and realise that if you’ve resisted before you can do it again :)

For environmental reasons, we are moving more toward a “Sharing Economy.” Thus far, I have not been swept up in this movement. In some ways, sharing makes sense. I appreciate the idea behind Zipcar and have had great success with AirBnB. But I’m probably one of a few people who hate hotels....

Things don't change

I want to HIT him, push him, scream at him, yell at him, then crumble to the ground, cry on him and do naughty things to him, while he tells me everything will be ok.

But it won't be ok, it's never ok.

Things are the same, will stay the same, and when I say to him "It's not like we're going to date, get married, have kids. We never were" and all he can say is "I know," there is no "everything will be ok," there's only "it is what it is" while my brain screams out "but what IS it?!"

That's when I just have to keep telling myself "Don't go back, you can never go back."
