I am so excited to say that eight of my Genderqueer comics will be included in the upcoming anthology “The Secret Loves of Geeks” edited by Hope Nicholson! The gorgeous cover art is by Becky Cloonan, and the book will be coming out from Dark Horse in February 2018. Read more about the book on The Nerdist.
Here is the full version of my first comic for The Nib, which went up yesterday.

A comic about a thing I’ve been dealing with.
I’ve been in some state of either desperation, stress, fury, confusion or vibrating tension over politics since Nov 9th. I penciled this comic on the day of the inauguration, trying to fuel some of those feelings into a productive channel. Here are links for the headlines shown in the last nine panels- the Arizona Bill; the Washington State bill ; pipelines ; the tweet, I think is self explanatory; the New Hampshire Bill; Conway defends Trump ; Black men killed by police in 2016 ; Bomb threats to JCCs , and the Ohio ‘Heartbeat’ Bill.

I legitimately love the idea of flying whales, why, oh why did they not evolve to float? Or maybe zeppelins should come back into style. Just…whatever puts giant floating things in the skies.
More genderqueer comics~ I post a few of these per week on instagram and patreon backers get them in advance :) You can find all the previous ones on tumblr here, here, here, here, here, here and here.
Happy Winter Solstice! I have spent the past two weeks inking a comic about the rebirth of the sun on the shortest day of the year, which will be my contribution to the Tarot themed anthology @tabulaidemanthology (coming in 2017 :D !) Here are a few sneak peeks originally posted on instagram. Take care of yourselves tonight~
Ready to take action? Good! We only have until Dec. 19th when the members of the Electoral College meet to cast their votes. Our Attorneys General need to ACT NOW and we NEED TO MAKE THEM!
WHO TO CALL:
Contact your Attorney General immediately! And daily, if you can. Find their info here: http://www.naag.org/naag/attorneys-general/whos-my-ag.php. That will give you your state’s Attorney General’s name and main number. Call them and leave a message. Then, call some of their local offices! It’ll be easier to talk to actual people that way. Making connections with staff is important! To get those local office numbers, just Google your AG’s name and “offices.” Easy peasy!
WHAT TO SAY:
Hello, my name is __________ and I’m calling to request that Attorney General __________ challenge the ‘winner take all’ rule for allocating electoral votes. The ‘WTA’ system is NOT mandated by the Constitution and it’s time to challenge it. Please stand up to this unconstitutional inequality and represent the millions of voters who disenfranchised or effectively diluted by this unfair state rule. Thank you!
Done?
Good job! You’re the best!!
Next Steps:
We’re planning some actions that involve visiting the AGs offices in person; if you’re interested in getting involved, fill out this quick form!
Share this with everyone you know – via Twitter! Facebook! Email! Messenger pigeon! Just kidding on the last one; that would be bonkers! – and think of creative ways to make the Attorneys General pay attention! Stop by their offices! Organize a gathering! Make it happen!!

How to call your reps when you have social anxiety
When you struggle with your mental health on a daily basis, it can be hard to take action on the things that matter most to you. The mental barriers anxiety creates often appear insurmountable. But sometimes, when you really need to, you can break those barriers down. This week, with encouragement from some great people on the internet, I pushed against my anxiety and made some calls to members of our government. Here’s a comic about how you can do that, too. (Resources and transcript below.)
Motivational resources: There are a lot! Here are a few I really like:
Emily Ellsworth explains why calling is the most effective way to reach your congressperson.
Sharon Wong posted a great series of tweets that helped me manage my phone anxiety and make some calls.
Kelsey is tweeting pretty much daily with advice and reminders about calling representatives. I found this tweet an especially great reminder that calls aren’t nearly as big a deal as anxiety makes them out to be.
Informational resources: There are a lot of these, as well! These three are good places to start:
Find your representative at house.gov
Find your senators at senate.gov
Use the “We’re His Problem Now” scripts when calling (or write your own!)
