College Community Career visits Texas State
On July 26th, CollegeCommunityCareer’s aspiring college students and future Bobcats, Andrea & Francisco visited the Beautiful City of San Marcos.
After walking the 4th largest campus in Texas, CCC’s students learned the ins-and-outs of the Texas State experience including the ACT/SAT requirements, campus history, facts, and chants. Too, all while learning how to survive walking Bobcat Country.

Today on July 22nd 2016, College Community Career Students give back to the community at Northwest Assistance Ministries’, Treasure of the Heart.
Compudopt (Computer Adopt) Workshop: College Community Career students learning and engage in a hands on workshop that teaches them the complexities of computer IP address mathematics, binary numbers, bits, logic gates.
On every Wednesday of this summer, 2016, College Community Career has had the privilege and honor to be Volunteer’s at Richmond’s: Boy’s and Girls Club. This past Wednesday on July 13th CCC initiated a web of interactive workshops that helped the students develop and discover their goals as well as things to know for both 2-year and 4-year colleges.
Boys and Girls Club Kid’s starting the web that symbolizes the invisible string that often connects people together, and promotes both team work and accountability.
Everyone has a tie on to team attribution and the “invisible” strings that connect us all.
Office Takeover!!
Here, College Community Career students hard at work in CCC’s hosted Essay Workshop for its rising Senior’s.
...And just across the way some of CCC’s rising Junior’s are siting in on College Community Career’s interactive Bootcamp and Workshop that teaches them skills & techniques to prepare and learn about the SAT and ACT.
CCC meets Schlumberger
So Schlumberger isn’t some famous great hamburger, in actuality it’s a great Engineering Company. On July 13th of this summer, 2016, some of College Community Career’s potential engineer’s got a chance to explore Schlumberger’s Engineering Company and some of the behind the scenes work that included hands on workshops for the students.
Day at The Musem
Ben Stiller wasn’t around to give a tour at Houston Museum of Natural Science - Sugarland but the students of CCC still got a great experience. After the tour they were able to sit and engage with the manager of the museum to learn the perks and everything it took to work within a museum.
CCC visits The Port of Houston
Recently, College Community Career had the luxury and opportunity of visiting with the Port of Houston.
When you think of a port of any kind you automatically presume simply traveling, shipping, a shore, or even an airport. Though in actuality it’s all of those things plus some. Exploring the fields within the Port of Houston the students got to explore the careers of firefighters, Merit-Time transporters, Captains, and people within the oil and gas industry.

I love how CCC is like an older sibling/mentor that I wish I had when I was in High School

Motivate | Inspire | Educate | Optimize | Empathize | Impact
I live and thrive off of these principals to motivate, inspire, educate, optimize, empathize, and impact both others and myself.
As a senior in High School of Benjamin O. Davis Jr., I resided on a pedestal.Upon this pedestal I was massively involved in athletics, theater, yearbook, and a plentiful amount of organizations. My time and efforts were entirely consumed in my activities and I had no idea that I’d have the time of day for College Community Career.
But I’m honored to say that I made time for it, being a student-athlete in CCC, was extremely helpful. Being in the program gave me the time of day I didn’t have to sit down and single out the colleges I wanted to attend. My safety schools, and my dream schools. And I’m proud to say that I found a happy medium at Texas State University to start of my college experience. Overall I’m entirely grateful to have devoted my time and efforts in this program, despite missing practices and rehearsals. Being a student in this program opened up self-assuring factors within myself and many opportunities. As a Posse Semi-Finalist through CCC I knew that I had great potential to succeed.
From being in the College Community workshops, to being behind the scenes of the workshops and executing them has been a fun and dynamic experience thus far. Working behind the scenes with CCC as a Summer VISTA has increased my appreciation and value of the organization much more. Seeing and executing all of the extent measures the Org makes in order to provide information for the students and parents and for workshops, field trips, & activities has been eye opening. Not to mention, but totally mentioning, the volunteer work that’s planned and participated in, it’s been a humbling experience.
As stated before I live and thrive off of the principals to motivate, inspire, educate, optimize, empathize, and impact others. And working with CCC I feel as if I’m doing so, with the students the program works with. I’m proud to state and be one of the Individuals selected to be apart of The College Community Career Team.
But I’m NOT the only “I” in this Team, CCC Student and Summer Vista Victor Rodriguez had these things to say:
“I joined College Community Career as a Sophmore in high school and have been engaged ever since. I really owe the team a lot. They really helped me get into college. If it was not for CCC I woudn’t have had someone to educate me on the college application process, and deadlines that I would have never known of. All while being a great system of support.
Who knows if I would still even be going to college at Texas Tech University if it wasn’t for CCC. Working for CCC, I am able to return the favor and pay it forward. I am more than delighted to help students invest in themselves. It brings me joy to help mold our future leaders, and it is really fun. I have plenty to thank CCC for.”
