Finally made it to Universal
Because this program gave me some very amazing, lovely, hilarious friends with beautiful souls from around the country and around the globe. I love you all

Food and Wine family. bonus points if you can find me.
Mom visited me for a Mother-daughter date to Magic Kingdom. My favourite part of our Space Mountain photo is the random, terrified man in front of us.
My Food and Wine family.
After the attacks in Paris, France in November, the France pavilion at Epcot in Walt Disney World, Orlando, FL, was shown an extreme amount of love and support. Many cast members brought flowers and notes to the French Disney cast members. The Pavilion's Eiffel Tower was lit up in the colours of the French flag all week. But one thing happened that I will never forget. The night after the attacks, I was at Epcot as a "guest," coincidentally watching IllumiNations from the France Pavilion. Then, as soon as the firework show ended, all of the French cast members formed a circle outside of their Eiffel Tower, holding a French flag. In unison, they sang the French national anthem, holding hands, some of them crying. It was an insanely beautiful moment. I felt so sad for all of them, so far away from home, but also felt the strength of their support system: each other, and the many guests at Disney World who clapped and cheered for them that night, and offered comfort and hugs as well.

One of my chefs at work is also named Casey. Though he's a bit older and went to Culinary Institute of America, the best culinary school in the world. Well we switched name tags for about a week. I got lots of questions, to which I gave crafty (not really) answers. "If you're a chef, why are you a cashier?" "Gotta get into the business somehow!" "Which campus do you go to?" "The main one!" "What's your best dish?" "I actually made all of these waffles from scratch." (I was working in Belgium that day serving Belgian waffles) And Chef Casey got lots of comments on how much my university sucks at football.
WENT TO UNIVERSAL STUDIOS FOR THE FIRST TIME TO EXPERIENCE HORROR NIGHTS. It was TERRIFYING. There were people chasing us with chainsaws, jumping out at us, and stalking us. Horror houses modelled after some of my favourite scary movies (my guilty pleasure) such as Insidious. The best part had to be the dead Disney princesses lurking around. Universal always finds ways to "slam" Disney.
