Biography:

Forrest always felt like he was a step or two behind his brother. It wasn’t something he blamed Jasper for anymore, but their childhood years were dominated by those feelings of resentment. Wherever Forrest wanted to be, it seemed Jasper was there and doing so much better than Forrest could hope to achieve. Forrest could never hope to the golden child, so he went in the other direction. If he couldn’t have a positive relationship with his parents, he was going to ensure it was negative. If he couldn’t shine on the football team like he wanted to, then he boycotted Jasper’s games to the fury of his parents and studied instead. He was dead set on being as different from his big brother as possible, but perhaps the biggest difference came when he turned eighteen, took the test and was told he was a submissive.

Forrest’s world came seemed to shatter. He couldn’t understand it. He was a tall guy, he was muscular, he wasn’t the stereotypical picture of a submissive at all. He’d been told ever since his growth spurt that he was going to be a dominant, and so he’d taken it as a foregone conclusion. Forrest started staying out late at night, drinking with friends, and sleeping around. He tried dominating some eager little subs, but the realisation that his heart wasn’t in it was enough to drive him to drink even more.

One night in Forrest’s last year of high school, he and some friends were once again drinking while underage. They were in a public park, when a few friends decided, drunkenly, that they would streak through the park. Forrest decided to head home instead, and would forever remain grateful that he’d made that decision. He learned the next day that his friends had been caught by the police and would likely be sentenced to slavery. That was a short, sharp shock to the system for Forrest and while his relationship with his parents and brother was going to take a lot of repair, Forrest was ready to buckle down and take life seriously.

He went to UBC Kelowna, a year after his brother had already graduated. While he was taking life more seriously, he hadn’t managed to figure out exactly what it was he wanted to do with his life. It was during this time that he met Gabriel, at one of the gyms on campus. Gabriel was asking for a spotter, and Forrest practically tripped over himself to offer his services. He denies to this day that he was that eager that fast, but he absolutely was. The pair were inseperable during their college lives together, and a month before graduation, Gabriel claimed Forrest.

Settling into the role of educator was something that Forrest loved. He wanted to help and guide as much as possible, and hopefully help people avoid slavery like he’d managed to do too. When a role in Jasper’s school came up, Forrest was hesitant. He didn’t want old feelings of resentment to resurface, but he knew this was the best chance to work in the career he loved and have a good relationship with his brother. After talking it through with Gabriel, they both agreed it was the best option for both of them.

1. Describe the moment you realized you wanted to be a teacher.

It was late into my first year of college, and I was really struggling. I didn’t know what I wanted to do or be, and it was starting to drag me down in other areas of my life too. My grades began to suffer, so did friendships. Even hook-ups started noticing my bad mood. So I finally talked to my guidance counsellor, and we went through option after option. It was around the seventh career possibility that I realised this guy was spending hours of his own time trying to help me and guide me, and it clicked. I wanted to help and teach, more than anything else.

2. What is your greatest professional achievement?

Helping someone like I was helped. This kid was so upset and we’d bonded a little in class, so he turned to me for help. Apparently I was the only adult he knew he was reasonably would help him. So I did. We met up a few times on campus, we talked through what he liked to do, what he might like to do in the future. And then a few years later, he contacted me to tell me he was starting an internship with NASA.

3. Describe the most difficult choice you’ve ever had to make. How did you make your decision? Do you regret it?

I don’t know that it counts as a choice, but I’m going for it. Deciding to give up on holding non-existant grudges against my family. They, or at least Jasper, did nothing to earn them and I’ve felt lighter and healthier ever since that day in high school. I’ve got better, if not great, relationships with my family now, and I could never regret a decision that led to that. I’m a better person for that decision, and a better relative.

BIOGRAPHY:

Sasha Nelson né Kovrov was born into a commune in rural Revelstoke, British Columbia. The Brothers and Sisters of Earth was not a commune of any religious or political stripe. It was just people who came together with like minded ideas about living in a simple way that respects the Earth and all the creatures that lived on her. Sasha himself was one of the only children born in the commune and as such was surrounded with and raised with absolute, abundant, and unconditional love. And as he grew and went out into the world he brought that love with him.

He was a wandering soul for most of his early bringing his desire to make the world a better place everywhere he travelled. He didn’t really connect with anyone not in a deep way. Though Kelly came the closest. She was vivacious, but also sad. Her husband and claim was a cold man. He even thought for a while that he would just take her and run. Give her chance to let her true spirit out. They carried on a passionate and loving affair, but somehow in his heart of hearts he knew it wasn’t meant to be. When Kelly became pregnant she decided that staying with her husband, who might have been cold, would be a good provider. Sasha agreed, feeling there was no way he could be a father. He was far from being ready to settle down. And so he left, but a piece of his heart remained there and the hole left behind was filled with thoughts of his child out there somewhere.

Without him really being aware of it knowing he had a child in the world focused him. Instead of random travelling, Sasha became an activist working for submissive rights, organic farming, and legalizing weed. He also decided to get his degree in counseling. He wanted to help people like Kelly before they ended up having to make terrible choices like she had. He certainly didn’t give up his activism though. It was when he was trying to get signatures to boycott the use of pesticides in UBC’s landscaping when he met the man who would completely change his life. The man who would finally get him to settle down. Jasper Nelson was handsome with the most beautiful eyes he’d ever seen in his life. Intense, but also kind. He was completely gone the moment they first spoke. They became boyfriends and eventually entered a claim.

They have settled at Cedar Creek, Jasper the Headmaster and himself the guidance counselor. He feels like his life is everything he ever wanted. He has a partner he completely loves and a job that helps him be the change he wants in the world. He still thinks about his child, though and hopes they are happy.

1. Describe the moment you realized you wanted to be a teacher. He decided that being a school counselor was the path for him after he met a young woman who had given up her own dreams of college and education to be in a claim that didn’t bring her happiness. He knew in his heart there had to be a better way to help students achieve their goals regardless of their mark, gender, sexuality, or socioeconomic situation.

2. What is your greatest professional achievement? Creating a special program at UBC for at risk homeless and housing insecure students for his thesis project. It helped a lot of kids stay in school and is still running to this day.

3. Describe the most difficult choice you’ve ever had to make. How did you make your decision? Do you regret it? It was both difficult and not. In the precise moment it was made it felt easy. I couldn’t be a dad. I wasn’t ready for the responsibility and didn’t feel ready to settle down. But as soon as I was gone leaving my child behind felt so hard. It was the right thing to do.  Kelly needed to carry the child and raise it in the best way she saw fit and I wasn’t going to dictate anything to her one way or the other. It just felt like I had an empty spot in my heart, though.

BIOGRAPHY: 

Ned (Levenstein) Miles, the middle child of his family, who suffered from ‘middle child syndrome’, both himself, and from his family. Being the second child, his parents were less ‘careful’ or ‘focused’ on him, and his older brother was the ‘golden boy’ of their house. He was the athlete, a good student, and was popular, even from a young age. Ned, on the other hand, had no coordination, and spent all his childhood with his nose in a book. Ned was always a very quiet, reserved child. He didn’t have a lot of friends, tended to keep to himself, and was much more interested in reading books, studying bugs, or star-gazing than sports, or play-wrestling.

While most boys his age, back in the day, would want BB guns, or toy soldiers, he asked for a magnifying glass, a bug kit, an ant farm, and a chemistry set. He loved space, and the stars, and, as a kid, hoped one day he would be an astronaut. In high school, he focused on chemistry and physics. He spent his summers at science camp, preparing for the school science fairs, and city science competitions. He was top of his class in high school in sciences and math, and was granted a scholarship to MIT in the 11th grade. He had to play ‘catch up’ through grade 12, while also being part of a research group at MIT, all before the age of 18. Ned turned 18 while at MIT, and was given the mark of submissive, not to his surprise. He had never really paid much attention to the D/s society, even though he was raised in a family that put it and athletics above all else. Instead, he focused on his schooling.

While walking down the boardwalk in Cambridge, nose buried in a physics journal, Ned bumped into someone, causing his glasses to hit the ground, followed by himself. That’s when he met Jason Miles; a personal trainer and health fanatic, who happened to have a masters in sports medicine and biology with a focus on anatomy. It led to them grabbing a hot dog, and becoming good friends. When Ned graduated, he had to find himself a Dominant, and didn’t really have any prospects. Jason offered to claim him, so he could actually continue his work as a scientist. After the claim, and over time, the two ended up falling in love. While they were judged a bit for the age difference between them, neither of them cared. A few years later, Ned was offered a job to teach physics in the Okanagan, with quite a pay raise, to get away from the city, and have a change of scene. The couple moved up to the Canadian valley, and have been there ever since.

1. Describe the moment you realized you wanted to be a teacher.

I was a peer tutor in high school and I remember the exact moment that I knew I wanted to do this as a career, if at all possible. I was helping a fellow student work through some basic math, he had dyscalculia, which is like dyslexia only instead of trouble with letters, he had trouble with numbers so it made it very difficult. I came up with a simple technique for him to use, a process to check his equations to make sure they were correct (or as correct as could be) and the first time he used it and got the answer correct? That look on his face? That was the exact moment. He was so happy and, oh man, my heart was full for a long time after that.

2. What is your greatest professional achievement?

My scholarship to MIT at 17. Not many 17 year olds in MIT at the time, let me tell you. It was quite the experience and it pushed me in all the right ways. Bettered me. That time of my life was amazing, I learned so much academically as well as socially working and interacting with older students and faculty. I feel I grew in leaps and bounds during that time but just getting the scholarship itself, it took a lot of hard work. A lot. Not something many 17 year olds can say I think and I don’t mean to sound like a braggart.

3. Describe the most difficult choice you’ve ever had to make. How did you make your decision? Do you regret it?

A difficult question, I’m going to have to say that choosing to take the MIT scholarship was the most difficult decision. Greatest professional achievement, though, so I’d say I don’t regret it in the least, especially since it was how I ended up meeting the love of my life. The reason it was difficult was that it meant getting behind in regular classes as well as more time away from my family, not easy for a 17 year old kid to decide but I knew it was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up in the end after making a list of the pros and cons and talking about it extensively with my mother and father.

Normally, we would ask that players wait two weeks after being accepted to apply for a Faculty Character. However, due to the fact that we have just begun and we need a couple of Faculty members to get started with, there will be special acceptances for Faculty characters that have been in the works since the roleplay’s conception. To make it fair to everyone, I will allow those of you who were accepted in our initial round of acceptances to apply for a Faculty member if desired; however, I would appreciate it if you would first message the Main to discuss which faculty member you’d like to apply for. 

Please note, we have pre-written bios for the majority of our faculty members. This is not to say you cannot create your own or re-work an existing bio, but it must all be approved through an Admin before applying. Also note that by applying for a Faculty member, you are committing to a certain amount of work that goes with it.
