I remember when it was a big shared sentiment in the queer community that "sex =/= gender =/= pronouns =/= physical appearance or expression" and. I feel like everyone even other trans people have forgotten about all that except the first part. and in many cases people forget the whole thing entirely

you guys need to be kinder to people you don’t find attractive. it’s getting ridiculous.

i’m fat, intersex, and disabled. so many times if i hung out with someone, their outfit gets complimented but not mine (even if i that person literally picked out my outfit so its not a matter of me just not having a good fashion taste). so many times have people treated other people around me kind but their attitude changes immediately if they have the misfortune to interact with me. i don’t do anything to warant this besides looking different. i get treated like i’m not there or not human. it sucks.

i know this affects more than just fat intersex disabled people. trans people, people of color, women in general, but especially those who have any of these traits or even just don’t wear makeup. dehumanization can be subtle. but we notice❤️

There is so much discourse online that can be boiled down to malicious bullshit with the goal to devide communities.

I want to hold everyone's hand here and say, if someone on here says something that specifically targets another queer group that person should not be entertained. This goes for discourse regarding gender identity, labels and self expression, race, feminism and so on.

We do not need to play minority Olympics, everyone has their own individual experiences and arguing which amorphous group got it "the worst" Is nothing but reductive.

This is why so many parents think "gentle parenting" doesn't work.

To them, "gentle parenting" means abusing them constantly then stopping for a week.

Abuse, especially from someone who they're required to live with, fully dependent on, and prohibited from defending themselves against, causes lifelong trauma. The trauma doesn't vanish when it stops being convenient. Your goal from the beginning was to traumatize them and hope the trauma would make them obedient. Now that you realize that their trauma isn't manifesting in a way that benefits you, you want it to disappear on your command.

Also, everything you listed could be a disability trait. And you never taught them how to cope with their disability. You only taught them to mask in order to avoid punishment.

Also the pattern I've seen is that they go from abusive behavior to... zero boundaries, call it gentle parenting, and dismiss the whole thing as if they actually tried a parenting technique rather than straight up neglecting their kids for a week just to prove a point.

And like I genuinely am loath to negatively discuss women’s bodies online and I think the way that famous women’s bodies are up for discussion online and in the press is upsetting and dehumanising and I feel a lot of compassion for women who are struggling with eating disorders and body image issues in the public eye however the fucking mass weight loss happening to all famous women either through eating disorders or weight loss medication cannot just go uncommented on. Nearly every single famous woman got skeletal overnight and it is so incredibly worrying both for them and for what it signals to other women and girls about how they should look.
