2. Kylo Ren, proposal to Rey
Nothing says "true love" more than a man who starts his love confession by telling the girl he likes she's not worth shit "except for him" because her parents were losers who sold her for drinking money, right? Rey was totally crying of happiness. Sure.

It took a great deal to get someone like Halbrand to move his goalpost. He stood firm on his plans, and his allegiances until there was no other choice but to make new arrangments. The first time, it was not until his master was pummeled to dust and all that was left in his wake were fields upon fields of death and rot and ruin. He shut his eyes, unable to hold down his grimace. His hands pressed against the porcelain table. He would not get involved, not anymore, he foolishly told himself. But this elf woman, this venomous viper who’d fallen right into his line of sight had other plans for him.
So determined and so terribly vengeful was the last remnant of a family line he’d all but slaughtered with his own hands. It amused him to think how clueless she was, standing there, her chin raised as she spoke, eager to lift him up from where he’d fallen so low. For once in his long life, he wanted to take the passive role. To lay low and aid the race of men as was his duty bestowed upon him by the Valar themselves.
But it was Galadriel after all, and Galadriel was not the kind of being one so easily put to the back of their mind. A part of him hated how he found her beautiful. Not beautiful in that plain way that all elves seemed to ensnare everyone’s sight as they passed by. She twisted his words to her favor effortlessly and somehow made her political scheming appear, not as some dirty self serving plight, but as something bright and hopeful as the sun that curled around her tresses.
Nearing the end of their conversation, shamefully he fought the urge to take a fistful of that perfect head of hair in his grasp, just for the chance to hear the faint whimpering sound that might escape passed her lips. For even daring to think she could move him around like some pawn.
“You used me. After I all but begged you to let me be.”
“I have just convinced Númenor to send five ships and five hundred men to aid your people and place a crown upon your head. Many might assume you used me.”
Valar spare him, he pleaded inwardly as he had not pleaded in over a thousand years. When her brows raised, daring him to snap at her again, he nearly faltered. Within the blue of her eyes, he found the flicker of a light that was almost haunting. Perhaps that was why he could hardly pry his attention away from her whenever she walked into the room. In those eyes, in the very strands of hair that fell down to her waist, there lingered the image of a home he always thought he’d never be worthy enough to return to again.
And yet, here she was, Galadriel of the Noldor, placing all her hope in him. And it had seemed, though he hadn’t dared to hope, that Ulmo himself had dragged her onto that raft with him. No, he couldn’t allow himself to entertain notions of fate. Once she knew the truth, she would not want to stay. Not with him. But, in that moment, he relented. Perhaps it was finally time for a new arrangement in his plans.

It's funny, he thinks, the passing of time. for a being born outside it and made to endure and preserve memories, time is both as intangible and liquid as the roaring ocean around them.
Sometimes Mairon thinks he can taste the seconds passing, like beads of salt from the seadrops around them that are stuck on the walls of his mouth. And other times it comes and goes, ebbs and flows without marking its waltz, like phantom steps in a dusty ballroom.

In those dark lonely hours, the constant heartbeat pounding in her head seems to be the only sound in the universe. It gives her an answer, one she does not want to hear.

Have yall considered that Galadriel was also unknowingly manipulating him? From the beginning, when she was unaware of his identity, she moved Halbrand like a chess piece for her own gain and did not care. She talked him into leaving with her to the southlands, which was essentially a death trap, but through it all, she was primarily focused on getting closer in her own persuit.
Like the Noldor she is, everything became about her end goal of killing this great foe, and she would never allow herself peace until that oath was fulfilled. She was so blinded by her own ambition that she couldn't see what was standing right in front of her.
Really, what antis of the ship seem to not understand is that Sauron and Galadriel fit the appeal of enemies to lovers so perfectly. They both are ruthless people when taken to their worst extremes. It doesn't matter whether he manipulates her or she manipulates him. That's part of the appeal!! They seem so diametrically opposed yet, in reality, they are almost reflections of each other in every way.
That's why he is so taken with her, why he seeks to offer her a position at his side when he's revealed himself. I do not agree with the idea that it would be seemingly impossible for him to love or become infatuated. He should not be emotionless or stripped of any nuance. That is not the Sauron the show has presented to us.
Many wish for his character to be more calculated and for it to be revealed that he had planned everything out from the beginning, so that any room to interpret his emotions in the first season as real become void. I do not think the writers would take this route, as it would essentially undo everything they've laid out and erase the small look they've given us into the main villains personality. He is no longer this formless flaming eye ball in the sky. Sauron now feels like someone you can hate and like someone you could love.
Charlie brought this to life so well, and should they continue to lean into his allure, I think they could bring his role to a really timeless place.

I got run over by a reindeer when I was a child. (yes, literally, dead serious. I was offering it lichen I had picked, reindeer + lichen = worse than the cookie-eating deer in Nara, japan. Kid ends up bowled over. I was in a full ski suit and there was snow, so no biggie. But it's a cool memory)
I got bitten in my flabby tummy by one of said deer on my first Japan trip. Apparently, animals get violent if I withhold foodstuffs for a second too long.
I have a pet duck, who is currently broody and hitting on everyone who looks like they might consider giving her babies.
