Recharging the spell: Earlier today, when talking to a new to me Medical professional I expressed that the ritual behavior and self-harm that I had done in my youth had more to do with gender dysphoria then the OCD that I have occasionally been diagnosed with.

I braced myself expecting for some pushback and instead she simply double-checked that she was using the right pronouns for me, told me that sounded like a reasonable assessment, and moved on.
