Daelun sighs heavily. He decides to tell numerous half-truths. "We've got beaf. He once was part of a kpop boy band that directly rivaled a girl group I'm a huge fan of, and we met at a meet-and-greet, I called him the root of the problem of infantalization of kpop stars in the kpop industry, he's hated me since. I happen to know the girl group rivaling his boy band very closely, so I know how much of a dick that guy and his friends were just by hearing about them."

"I've heard stranger things occur, like apparently theres been a string of disappearances but get this every single one of them was on a wanted list for heinous shit of some kind, the only thing the police ever find is white hair that they cant trace and supposedly it goes missing after a while just poofs from their evidence bags". The girl says.

Though ha-eun cant really give him alone time she does put herself in the corner of the room to try and give daelun as much space as possible.

Daelun stares at a wall slightly upwards and diagonal from Ha-Eun's head, zoning out.

A little lid quickly slides open and shut placing two trays of food on a stand that jutted out when the tray was put through the process was quick enough that nothing could escape still, it was some cooked and preserved fish with some pie and some juice in canisters, there was a note on the side presumably written by celine that said "im so sorry daelun, i know you want out but we just cant risk it while your like that, there are security cams with audio attached which is how I know, it hurts me to see you like this but belive me I want you and everyone safe, oh in case your wondering knock three times on the side of the wall and a bathroom will open up, dont worry its not going to be just a steel toilet that flips out, but an actual bathroom".

Daelun grins wildly. He starts looking around for the cameras. If he can't have what he wants when he desperately needs it and no one in this house will listen to his needs, he might aswell be a little menace. Once he spots a camera, he rebounds off of the opposite wall in a jump to grab it with a fist and smash it to bits in his hand, making him bleed from glass shards. If Ha-Eun were to use her magic to seal the wounds up, skin would go over the glass putting it into Daelun's bloodstream and risking internal bleeding. No winning here. This isn't a win, Daelun knows this. It's something he has control over and something the others can't stop from happening.

Ha-eun looks wide and panicked and for a moment the sight of daelun injured snaps her back to human for just short enough time for her to say, "celine!, celine!. We have an emergency, open the fucking door right now!. What the fuck daelun?!". Like she looks legitimately scared and worried for him. "Shit shit shit, I can't lose another person i care about, I can't". Ha-eun keeps shifting been human and beastial form obviously panicking and starts frantically scratching at the door itself.

"It's just a bloody hand. You're panicking. The glass clogs up the holes enough for blood loss to be far less than fetal, I'll be fine."

"Not helping". Ha-eun manages to choke out through the panic.

Daelun doesn’t feel like ebtertaining right now. He leans his head back against the portal he sits in, focusing mental attention on the aching in his hand. He occasionally rubs a finger over a piece of glass to remind himself that the pain is real and that it is still there.

Ha-eun still hasnt snapped out of her mental state its more like her brain suddenly puts her on autopilot and then she does something different with her magic instead, well sorta. First she speeds up her hands to quickly pick out the glass, then she uses her magic to push out any remaining glass and finally heals it, she then goes to sit in the corner its a bit odd, its like ha-eun is moving on her own with nobody home. She doesn't even really register anything daelun says.

Daelun flinches back, feeling everything going on around the openings of each tiny little wound. He’s disapointed by her solution. Once all the glass is out, he uses one piece to bring up white lines on his arm, never puncturing skin. He does this descreatly enough that Ha-Eun has no way of noticing. She can’t heal the wounds she doesn’t know about. Daelun was pissed at being trapped. He would keep hurting himself until he could get out. It slipped Daelun’s mind, the need to tell Ha-Eun his plan.

“Why are the walls still up? You yelled to Celine to get them down minutes ago. Does your girlfriend care more about her mission as a hunter than the safety of her god-son?”

Ha-eun doesn't answer bur gives a look that does say, wouldn't put it past her. She is just annoyed about being stuck in the room as daelun is. Next thing they both know a couple metallic bracelets with different runes on them then one on the walls are pushed through the food drop tray on the side of the wall, theres a note. "Im sorry this took so long, but we needed to figure out a way to stabilize your demon forms first". -celine. Ha-eun puts it on, and suddenly shes back to human looking but she is still obviously still shooken and quite worried about daelun. "I guess that it negates all demon powers". Celine says quietly and unsuredly. And then hands the second bracelet to daelun.

Daelun kicks the bracelet away. "I naturally have a tail, remember? My hair is tinted purple due to my demonic heritage, I have fangs and claws because of my ancestors. I don't want to risk the pain of feeling my teeth fall out and my claws retract inwords into my fingers!" Daelun's pitch rises with his pupils becoming tighter slits. His tail raises as he speaks like an angered cat. He tries not to think about his tail bone falling off and wiggling around under his skin, or a good half of his hair, the purple strands, falling out into a gross mess.

"I dont think it works like that, i mean it uses magic not science more then likely it will just poof you into something stable without hurting you". Ha-eun says.

Daelun is still fearful of the bracelet. His imagination is too wild, acting on it's own as intrusive images and thoughts fill his mind. He backs further into his corner, away from the bracelet now kicked onto the ground. "Nope. Nope. Nope. Nope." Daelun mutters to himself, repeating that one word to himself until the topic can shift.

"Oh stop being a big baby". Ha-eun says before picking up the bracelet and slapping it on his wrist closed. And poof just like she said he looked human. No heidious transformation just part of him locked away. Though apparently his injuries he had left didnt heal. Finally celine opened the door. She did give ha-eun a disapproving look that said we're talking about this later. "Don't try to take the bracelet off, its locked to my finger print, so it won't come off anyway, and your very lucky that i am very good at first aide and most medical things, i had to learn cause explaining demon injuries to hospital workers wasnt really an option". Celine says.

Then celine gestures for them too follow her.

Daelun follows out of the room, seething silently. He only flips Ha-Eun off. What's the plan? Lock himself in his room and pick at his bracelet until he gets through the metal. Magic is only science no one can understand yet. If he keeps at it, with how physics work, he should be able to get through eventually. He refuses to talk to Ha-Eun again out of pure spite. Daelun starts heading for his bedroom.

"Hey celine did your magic bracelet things have to lock away my tats as well?, i don't exactly feel comfortable without them". Ha-eun calls.

"They lock away all demonic essence and compartmentalize it, their not meant to be comfortable, their meant to be practical". Celine says.

Ha-eun bristles at that. "And also you couldn't have gotten these to us earlier?". Ha-eun asks.

"I had to first translate ancient hunter text that haven't been translated in 1500 years, then I had to figure out the correct order to put them in, then I had to have them etched into the bracelets, it was a very time consuming process, not to mention i had to calm eunbi down and get her to bed. So im sorry if I couldn't get them to you in 30 minutes or less". Celine replied, annoyed.

Daelun's enhanced hearing listens in on the conversation Ha-Eun and Celine are having. Daelun's life with his parents had been... complicated. He'd grown up in an enviorment that had taught him that any sort of bickering or banter could lead to screaming matches. The boy had learned to not attempt to ignore them. The music could never be loud enough, and he'd keep getting pulled out of the worlds reading would pull him into. Over the years, Daelun had learned to just endure listening. He grows tense, still picking at his bracelet, now more apsent-mindedly. Maybe some pain could distract. He dislocates his thumb, slides off the bracelet and pops his bones back into place. He ignores the pain by continuously telling himself, in his own mind, that his hand is not his whole being, and thus why should he feel pain there? Not a single tear drops out due to this ideology. His body relaxes slightly at the feeling of his tail returning. He runs his tongue along his fangs. He brings his tail around to his hands, fidgeting with the end of his tail, running his claws along the fur and making contact with the skin underneath. At some point, he switches to gently tracing along his intricate patterns with a finger. It's all just to self-sooth, not distract, knowing he has no way to block out the sound of his two gaurdians throwing back and forth retorts that will be forgotten in the morning.

Ha-eun comes in later with a box of brownies "I brought you some chocolate...". Ha-eun pauses she looks like she wants to say something about daelun already going against the plan, but stops. "Their not a bribe, just so you know. Also your allowed to be pissed at us. But you should also know no ones actions tonight were done out of malice but concern, I did get celine never to use that room again". Ha-eun says. She is so exhausted from the night and while she knows she cant fix anything or make daelun feel better she knows she can try.

Daelun looks like a deer in headlights when the door swings open. His fur is slightly spiked. A hole is punched through the wall. He holds the sheet used to clean his reading glasses. "Sorry about the property damage. Annoying fly." He still makes sure to keep zero emotion in his tone, the tone Ha-Eun had to spend years learning and mastering during her demon days. He has a glare compared to almost no other, used simply as his resting face. "Leave the chocolates on the side table. Thanks for those." Daelun chooses not to mention that milk chocolate makes the back of his throat feel like it's fading away into acid, and that he finds every other sort of chocolate to be disgusting.

Ha-eun walks away he hears ha-euns sobs coming from the vent in his room a few hours later . Its the first time the icey facade illusion of the monster she tries to be is shattered and the tiny vulnerable shard of humanity is shown. Daelun can tell its coming from the direction of ha-euns quarters so its a moment she had meant to be private and celine isnt there to witness it.

Daelun teleports to be next to Celine, knowing even before he arrives that she is striding towards Ha-Eun's doorway. He quietly grabs Celine's wrist, gripping in a firm hold.

"Give her her privacy. No one wants to be seen during their monthly cry."

Daelun is confused when he sees Celine quirk an eyebrow in equal confusion.

"Plenty of folks ignore the small annoyences in life with ease. You can only ignore so much, so to avoid cracking in front of others, a lot of folks take one or two times in the month to bawl their eyes out in private, sobbing in a sort of way they never want anyone to witness them sobbing in. It's healthy. Don't go talk with Ha-Eun, give her some space. I know for certain I wouldn't want either of you walking in on me sobbing alone."

"Im sorry daelun, I panicked tonight and did something that should have never been done to you, and because of me you got hurt which is exactly what I was trying to prevent. I assure you as ha-eun said that room will never be used again, I thought i had learned how to deal with demon stuff from my time with rumi, but I see now I still have a long way to go". Celine said.

Daelun's eyes widen. He tries to ignore the fur spiking on his tail, tries to push down a growl. "First of all, there is no way to prevent anyone from hurting themself. Life is dangerous and people are stubborn. There are numerous ways to go as far as killing yourself in a room like the one you put me in. Second of all," Daelun's resting bitch face comes out in full force. His light smile and soft eyes are gone, replaced by hooded dead eyes and a borderline frown. "You used to put one of my Noonas in there? When she was my age? Younger, even?" Daelun is well aware of the effect his gaze can has. He's used it many times in the past. It always intimidates, wether he's trying to do so or not.

"No, we've never had anything like what happened tonight happen here before, but at the time if she had i would of, not because I dont care but because I want her to be safe. You have to understand back then I had no point of reference there is nothing on half human-half demon children i would of been alone figuring things entirely out on my own. Rumi was a quiet and well behaved child she never really threw fits or tried to break the rules, at first I thought it was because I was actually doing something right but I see now, the truth is she was too afraid to break them and that is my failure as a parent, and I admit I am still failing now, I will try to be better in the future and please do not repeat that little green's Muppets words back at me, its really cliche when people do that". Celine explained.

"You don't cage children." Daelun's eyes meet with the floor, refusing to look Celine in the eyes. "It seems like strong feelings trigger those transformations. Anxiety attacks, maybe. If you chain an angered dog to a fence post after calling it bad and handing it nothing but a scowl, that dog is going to strangle itself until it either is free to run it's emotions off or strangles itself trying. Next time I have a panic attack or some bullshit, and I start growing fur, let me out." Daelun takes a step into Celine's personal space and locks his gaze onto her's. "I know what's best for my body and mind. You will never know what I'm feeling in the moment. I'll know. If you want me the healthiest I can be, you need to give me mutual trust. I'm not a child. You and I are too different for you to make every choice for me."

"You're right daelun and im sorry for everything thats happened tonight". Celine said.

Content, Daelun doesn't express accepting her apology. He simply walks back to his room, curls up on his bed, and heads onto youtube to doomscroll.

Time skip.

Daelun is walking into the school celine had talked about earlier he sees kids in altered uniforms that reflect hints of their own personality to them but the uniforms underneath are still recognizable, there is still some cliques the preppy kids, the nerds. What might be the jocks but its a bit hard to tell since everyone is dressed simillary. Daelun had actually got to pick the classes he'd be interested in which would be bonus.

Daelun has an entierly different persona at school than home or public. He stays quiet, talking as little as possible. The most he’ll say is out of politeness. He usually waits for a group of extroverts or fellow introverts to come and adopt him. This method helps him stay neutral with everyone possible.

One of the kids who was hanging out with a group more to the edge of the crowd walks up to daelun, "hey, im guessing you're new here. Im ghost, they/them Pronouns. I know odd name but I thought it would be unique". Ghost reaches out their hand to daelun for a handshake.

”It’s not the worst name I’ve heard. I once met a kid who named themself the letter U.” Daelun gives the kid a firm and practiced handshake.

"Im guessing that got very confusing very fast, any idea if the kid was a fan of Rush Hour 3?, cause theres a scene you should see". Ghost said.

”No idea what that is. Pleasure to meet ya, the name’s Daelun, he/they pronouns.” He keeps his voice peppy, or at least what would be peppy for him.

After showing daelun the scene really quick they head to their first classes. Each classroom is set up more similar to how a college classroom is set up, to daeluns surprise romance is his homeroom literature teacher though the man is wearing a terrible disguise to try and hide his identity. "Alright class, the first book we are reading is the picture of Dorian Grey by Oscar wilde. a Gothic and philosophical tale about a young man who sells his soul for eternal youth, with a portrait of him aging and bearing the marks of his sins instead of his face, we will explore the themes and discuss wether any of you would take the deal, we will also have debates defending both sides, but for day 1, ill try to answer any questions you might have as well as asking them of you".

Daelun’s last english class had them reading and watching Marvel superheros, watching The Good Place and Our Flag Means Death, silly stuff like that. He was looking forward to reading The Odyssey in his first year of high school. This is going to take some getting used to. He tries his hardest to pay attention so he doesn’t fall behind.

Romance points to daelun and says, "daelun, what do you believe would drive someone to want the kind of deal Dorian Grey precures for himself?, is it simple vanity or is it the release from society's expectations that comes with being adored while being in the center of attention?, there are no wrong answers in this class, we're here to broaden our minds".

"For this school it depends on the teacher, for me, call me Mr.R. also would you mind defending your stance to the class?". Romance asks.

Daelun defends his stance with hard facts and the occasional agreeable opinion that reads as common sense.

A girl who has a popular girl cheerleader air about her stands up after daelun is done talking, and gives her own takes on the idea. "daelun made some pretty solid points, but at the end of the day vanity is a reflective mirror of whats already inside, you can be pushed by others expectations yes, but at the end of the day your actions are your own and your responsible for them".

Romance nods. "That is a solid rebuttal, class is almost over and i think we will take time to look at both sides later, daelun could you stay a minute after class, i just want to talk and your not in trouble". Romance says.

Daelun nods as to not interupt the lesson. This guy really had to point out his extended stay to the entire group? He couldn’t’ve just pulled him aside quickly before leaving? Whatever. Daelun clocked that fool as a demon quite abit a go. This should be a clean and easy fight.

After the class, romance take his disguise off. "As I said your not in trouble, and i dont want to fight. Originally I did hide here cause it just seemed like an easy spot to hide, but ive genuinely started to enjoy teaching, no i dont eat the students nor faculty, I do however feed on creeps that dont have kids here and stay in the parking lot a bit too long if you catch my drift, so all im asking is that you let me keep doing this job, in return i do my job here and dont make trouble, i really dont want to go back to the demon realm. My husband baby can handle all that royal business stuff, I just want a normal life". Romance explains.

Daelun taps his chin in consideration. " ..Fair. One condition. The school grounds are your demonic territory. Challenge any demon who tresspasses, and we've got a deal." He offers out a hand to shake

"I mean i was already going to do that but not because you told me too". Romance says neutrelly but also with a slight hint of sass.

"Oh shush. Have a nice rest of your day, Mr. R." Daelun walks out of the room calmly, hunching slightly from the feeling of his tail between part of his bag and his back. Off to lunch, hopefully.

While at the lunchroom, the food was much higher quality then a normal school cafeteria would be. Even too a ridiculous extent as evidence by ghost staring at a spoon full of caviear in front of their face. "I wish they would serve us normal food for once instead of whatever is this is". Ghost said, still eyeballing the spoon as if it personally offended them.

Daelun happily munches down on the caviear from a spoonful. The pearls are large and orange and pop in your mouth. Once he swallows, he says "You kidding me? At least they aren't serving mystery slop. Even then, the slop would probably just turn out to be lentils, or soggy chopped beaf, which are still pretty good."

"They could of at least gave us pizza or i dont know burgers, who feeds kids fish eggs". Ghost says jabbing the spoon into the air before taking a bite themselves.

"It tastes good! I'd eat this stuff out of my own free will. My mum took a collage program abroad in Venice and took me back with her 20 years later, introduced me to these little slices of baguette with cream cheese and these little roe pearls that she'd grab as a snack between classes each day. By the gods, I love this stuff."

"Well I cant argue that it doesn't taste good, cause it does". Ghost finally relents.

”Exactly! At least we don’t need to go through the hastle of packing a lunch.” Daelun munches on more roe as the silence grows uncomfortable

If he can't have what he wants when he desperately needs it and no one in this house will listen to his needs, he might aswell be a little menace. If Ha-Eun were to use her magic to seal the wounds up, skin would go over the glass putting it into Daelun's bloodstream and risking internal bleeding. No winning here. This isn't a win, Daelun knows this. It's something he has control over and something the others can't stop from happening.

She doesn't even really register anything daelun says.

It's all just to self-sooth, not distract, knowing he has no way to block out the sound of his two gaurdians throwing back and forth retorts that will be forgotten in the morning.

The music could never be loud enough, and he'd keep getting pulled out of the worlds reading would pull him into. Over the years, Daelun had learned to just endure listening. He grows tense, still picking at his bracelet, now more apsent-mindedly. Maybe some pain could distract. He dislocates his thumb, slides off the bracelet and pops his bones back into place. He ignores the pain by continuously telling himself, in his own mind, that his hand is not his whole being, and thus why should he feel pain there? Not a single tear drops out due to this ideology. His body relaxes slightly at the feeling of his tail returning. He runs his tongue along his fangs. He brings his tail around to his hands, fidgeting with the end of his tail, running his claws along the fur and making contact with the skin underneath. At some point, he switches to gently tracing along his intricate patterns with a finger. It's all just to self-sooth, not distract, knowing he has no way to block out the sound of his two gaurdians throwing back and forth retorts that will be forgotten in the morning.

Ha-eun comes in later with a box of brownies "I brought you some chocolate...". Ha-eun pauses she looks like she wants to say something about daelun already going against the plan, but stops. "Their not a bribe, just so you know. Also your allowed to be pissed at us. But you should also know no ones actions tonight were done out of malice but concern, I did get celine never to use that room again". Ha-eun says. She is so exhausted from the night and while she knows she cant fix anything or make daelun feel better she knows she can try.

Daelun looks like a deer in headlights when the door swings open. His fur is slightly spiked. A hole is punched through the wall. He holds the sheet used to clean his reading glasses. "Sorry about the property damage. Annoying fly." He still makes sure to keep zero emotion in his tone, the tone Ha-Eun had to spend years learning and mastering during her demon days. He has a glare compared to almost no other, used simply as his resting face. "Leave the chocolates on the side table. Thanks for those." Daelun chooses not to mention that milk chocolate makes the back of his throat feel like it's fading away into acid, and that he finds every other sort of chocolate to be disgusting.

Ha-eun walks away he hears ha-euns sobs coming from the vent in his room a few hours later . Its the first time the icey facade illusion of the monster she tries to be is shattered and the tiny vulnerable shard of humanity is shown. Daelun can tell its coming from the direction of ha-euns quarters so its a moment she had meant to be private and celine isnt there to witness it.

Daelun teleports to be next to Celine, knowing even before he arrives that she is striding towards Ha-Eun's doorway. He quietly grabs Celine's wrist, gripping in a firm hold.

"Give her her privacy. No one wants to be seen during their monthly cry."

Daelun is confused when he sees Celine quirk an eyebrow in equal confusion.

"Plenty of folks ignore the small annoyences in life with ease. You can only ignore so much, so to avoid cracking in front of others, a lot of folks take one or two times in the month to bawl their eyes out in private, sobbing in a sort of way they never want anyone to witness them sobbing in. It's healthy. Don't go talk with Ha-Eun, give her some space. I know for certain I wouldn't want either of you walking in on me sobbing alone."

"Im sorry daelun, I panicked tonight and did something that should have never been done to you, and because of me you got hurt which is exactly what I was trying to prevent. I assure you as ha-eun said that room will never be used again, I thought i had learned how to deal with demon stuff from my time with rumi, but I see now I still have a long way to go". Celine said.

Daelun's eyes widen. He tries to ignore the fur spiking on his tail, tries to push down a growl. "First of all, there is no way to prevent anyone from hurting themself. Life is dangerous and people are stubborn. There are numerous ways to go as far as killing yourself in a room like the one you put me in. Second of all," Daelun's resting bitch face comes out in full force. His light smile and soft eyes are gone, replaced by hooded dead eyes and a borderline frown. "You used to put one of my Noonas in there? When she was my age? Younger, even?" Daelun is well aware of the effect his gaze can has. He's used it many times in the past. It always intimidates, wether he's trying to do so or not.

"No, we've never had anything like what happened tonight happen here before, but at the time if she had i would of, not because I dont care but because I want her to be safe. You have to understand back then I had no point of reference there is nothing on half human-half demon children i would of been alone figuring things entirely out on my own. Rumi was a quiet and well behaved child she never really threw fits or tried to break the rules, at first I thought it was because I was actually doing something right but I see now, the truth is she was too afraid to break them and that is my failure as a parent, and I admit I am still failing now, I will try to be better in the future and please do not repeat that little green's Muppets words back at me, its really cliche when people do that". Celine explained.

"You don't cage children." Daelun's eyes meet with the floor, refusing to look Celine in the eyes. "It seems like strong feelings trigger those transformations. Anxiety attacks, maybe. If you chain an angered dog to a fence post after calling it bad and handing it nothing but a scowl, that dog is going to strangle itself until it either is free to run it's emotions off or strangles itself trying. Next time I have a panic attack or some bullshit, and I start growing fur, let me out." Daelun takes a step into Celine's personal space and locks his gaze onto her's. "I know what's best for my body and mind. You will never know what I'm feeling in the moment. I'll know. If you want me the healthiest I can be, you need to give me mutual trust. I'm not a child. You and I are too different for you to make every choice for me."

Content, Daelun doesn't express accepting her apology. He simply walks back to his room, curls up on his bed, and heads onto youtube to doomscroll.

Daelun is walking into the school celine had talked about earlier he sees kids in altered uniforms that reflect hints of their own personality to them but the uniforms underneath are still recognizable, there is still some cliques the preppy kids, the nerds. What might be the jocks but its a bit hard to tell since everyone is dressed simillary. Daelun had actually got to pick the classes he'd be interested in which would be bonus.

Daelun has an entierly different persona at school than home or public. He stays quiet, talking as little as possible. The most he’ll say is out of politeness. He usually waits for a group of extroverts or fellow introverts to come and adopt him. This method helps him stay neutral with everyone possible.

One of the kids who was hanging out with a group more to the edge of the crowd walks up to daelun, "hey, im guessing you're new here. Im ghost, they/them Pronouns. I know odd name but I thought it would be unique". Ghost reaches out their hand to daelun for a handshake.
