Training & Development
For my HR class, we have to come up with a training course. The subject I've chosen is how to hire creative professionals for creative roles within an organization. I'm not just looking at hiring, I'm looking at the whole onboarding process for a creative professional (in this, even amateurs and people fresh out of art school are creative professionals) taking on a creative role.
If you are a creative professional who has been hired on for a creative position at any time in your career, or you know someone who is, PLEASE talk to me!
What I'm looking for are the following:
What did your recruiters/managers do early on that really made you excited for the role? What did they do that killed the buzz for you?
How were you recruited? How did you find out about a position? How did you get them to take notice of you?
What were your first 90 days like at your job?
What's a question you now wish you had asked during your interview?
What's something you wish you would have known about the company, or the industry overall, before applying or being recruited?
If you are no longer in that creative role, or that company, would you feel comfortable sharing the circumstances surrounding your departure or transfer?
You can make your own thread response here in this comments of this post, or email me at: [email protected] (Please share this with other creative professionals!!)
