The Children of Lir for sulienapgwien
āAway from me, ye children of Lir, Henceforth the sport of the wild winds Until Lairgnen and Deoch come together, Until ye are on the north-west of Red Erin. "A sword of treachery is through the heart of Lir, Of Lir the mighty champion, Yet though I have driven a sword. My victory cuts me to the heart.ā

āYule Aestheticā The shortest day of the year is upon us this winter solstice, a time of reflection and looking forward to the upcoming year, shedding the negativity of the past and looking towards the future with hope.
Fairyland
This is the most peculiar gravestone that I stumbled upon at the Warriston Cemetery - it was lying on the ground, in the shade of an old birch tree heavy with razor strop mushrooms. I donāt see snakes represented very often on gravestones, so they caught my attention.. these are so beautifully intertwined. Iām not sure how to interpret their meaning - any suggestions? The āglobesā vaguely reminded me of fossil echinoids, believed to be snakes eggs in old folklore. The writing suggests that it could be more recent than Victorian times though..
