i find it eternally frustrating that we are completely accepting of things like "norn abuse" in creatures but cant handle a little bit of unethical shipping or a personal fixation on things like nanachi. neurotypical people really are that horrified that if they "like" something in fantasy they will go pursue it in the real world. its like most people have no real backbone at all. acceptability and legality == morality to them. they dont have foundations or principles not even a simple "i dont like causing pain in others so i shouldnt do this". just.. like.. something about the long dark shadow cast upon your soul for liking wild artwork of tomoko from watamote.

like yeah SUUUUREE you can gore peoples faces in a video game thats great for kids but people dont think thats going to lead you to the sh community or whatever. i think the issue is that we need spaces that arent dedicated to hedonism and moreso center personal expression and genuine passion for these subjects. artists tend to have really adequate outlets for this stuff so i think if its less about "getting off" and more about explaining every hyperautistic element of why/how you wanted to make a character get abused in your shortform comic we would be in a much better place.
