I’ve been loaning a collection of Thomas Ligotti stories to a man who often drives for one of my daily bus routes, no contact exchanged. The idea is that coincidence will introduce us again, and I’ll have my book back before his seasonal route concludes. I didn’t see him at all last week — this is because frequently I overslept (why I say often). The one morning I was able to hear from him on it, he had nothing but effusive praise, especially liking the stories I’d given particular recommendation towards. To think on this makes me happy. I enjoy the relationships of coincidence and happenstance.
