This means everything to me and a very specific type of lesbian
some days you're god's bastard child conceived to destroy the world
You cannot become a parent just because you want a baby that guy you made is gonna start having independent thoughts faster than you think he will
on Father’s Day, sitting in a restaurant with my parents and my brother, my mom commented idly that THIS was what she wanted when she & my dad started planning for kids almost 40 years ago. Not how cute a baby would be, not teaching a child to read or ride a bike, but THIS - a holiday meal with her two adult children who are grown and happy, living lives they enjoy. And I thought how lucky I am, that I have her. To know that my whole life was what she wanted and looked forward to, not just my infancy or childhood. To know that she was looking forward to knowing me, as a full and complete person.
Anyways those audiobooks
shits getting real
okay so the whole single mom by choice journey... okay wow.
so i'm still waiting for a few forms to be completed, have a visit with the people who my contact for adhd/autism stuff to get them to sign off on it. like I'm super nervous about that but have a visit soon. a part of me is scared that they'll immediately say i can't handle it, which is super discriminatory imo bc it's not like i need significant help in my day to day life, i manage 99.99% of stuff on my own (like there's a reminder text my mom sends at times and minor things). and so many autistic & adhd parents thrive?? it's not like i'm doubly disabled because of a dual diagnosis, it's just affects me in specific ways
+ they did diagnose me with chronic depression but I'm thinking it was bc 1. being undiagnosed, 2. birth control fucked me up, 3. the anti-depressants were making me more depressed (which is an ironic side-effect).
so i don't think that's it.
either way. i've checked with others on waiting times etc... and if things stop taking for fucking ever now... hopefully this time next year I'm in the IUI stage of the entire thing. like my dream due date would be june 2026... which you know, would be probable with that iui time. ofc it might not take at first but STILLLL
i'm so glad i decided to start the process this spring because of everything taking so much time.
what would be less fun is if the heart cardiogram comes out abnormal now lmao. bc that's also happening soon. the physical and 7 day ecg came back with fairly normal results with some SVT and irregular beats, but nothing concerning. so i'm guessing nothing will be going on with that
i'm so broody too so this is difficult. i'm dealing by selling a bunch of stuff and preparing my apartment to fit a baby lol
You’ve either read beast of the briar and you’re completely obsessed, or you haven’t read it
Like it’s not good. But omg am I obsessed with it and I don’t know why.
Book 3 ended on such a cliffhanger and the next book is out in September. Likeeeeeeeee
I guess the book is just an amalgamation of things I enjoy in books, and it’s not well written but omg I just need more
I’ve started watching The Boys. It’s the first series in a long time I’ve actually started and kept watching. Honestly, I’m watching for Claudia Domit. It’s flawed, but interesting. I wouldn’t watch if it was 20 episodes a season, but it works with 9/10.
But maybe I’d enjoy it even more with more episodes? Idk. Pros and cons there. I generally don’t like shows that has all that male energy, but it’s good enough. I’m intrigued.
Also I kind of want to read fic for it. That’s a big motivation
i will say, the worst thing that happened in fandom was when shipping just became “i ship this bc it’s gonna be real” and not just “i ship this bc i think it’s a fun dynamic to explore idc what the writers are doing that’s not my business”
Reading a book a day keeps the doctor away.
My summer reading is a lot of… fun books. Def gonna read all the Dark Olympus books.
These are also some of my TBR… plus
These three books are my “haven’t really started TBR” that I’ve brought with me
So yeah
Fuuuuun

HEARTBREAKING: coworker you had normal casual conversations with reveals their rancid political views one day and you can never look at them the same
thank fucking god I'm not 14 anymore
hey if you are 14-17 It does get better you are just in your caterpillar goop era
Also sometimes the goop era lasts a little longer than other people's goop
Reporting in just 6 weeks shy of 50 years-old: You will re-goop several times in your life, often emerging with different wings and maybe even different skills. You're gonna be okay.
Shipping isn't trying to explain why a relationship is actually canon. It's not even trying to explain why it should or could be canon. Shipping is saying "wouldn't it be funny if these two fucked" and everyone needs to remember that.
and sometimes it's "wouldn't it be fucked up if these two fucked"
I present:
What are dead man walking tornadoes? :O
it’s a multi-vortex tornado. i dont remember the tribe it originates from (i think it was cherokee), but there’s a native american legend…? saying? that goes “if you see a man in a tornado, you are about to die.”
the most infamous shot of a dead man walking tornado hit jarrell, texas in 1997
it did so much damage to the town it caused the scale that tornados are measured by, the fijita scale, undergo revisions, and it made anchoring buildings in the tornado alley region pretty much mandatory. (it took the entire town off the map. only those who had taken shelter outside of the town or in underground bunkers survived.)
two more examples of dead man walking tornadoes looking like a person are a tornado from 2011 that hit cullman, alabama
and a tornado from 1975 that hit xenia, ohio
Jesus H. Roosevelt Christ, that's terrifying on a whole new level.
Still feeling like people overlooked the implications of Harrows baptism in the pool scene...l mean she confesses her sins (as one does before taking on the sacrament) to lesbian Jesus and Gideon forgives her and submerges them both in salt water... freeing her from her original sin (200 dead kids and all)
Also you need to be baptized before the first communion (consuming the body of Christ) aka eating Gideon, to become a lyctor (receiving the holy spirit)...
