*talking to myself as I wobble up the stairs* , you are sober and in control of the situation
âI wasnât sure youâd show up. But Iâm glad you did.â - Sam
âAfter the wifi fiasco, I was almost surprised you managed to work the phone,â she teased, tossing her purse onto the bar, âbut curiosity got the better of me. Why;d you ask?â
samxmerlotteâ
âNo, no I donât want a facebook,â Sam laughed softly. He wasnât exactly sure how to get what he wanted without tipping Gwen off completely. She wasnât dumb. He had to tread carefully. âWith all the stuff that goes on around here, all the supernatural things, well people talk right? I just figured people might know more or we might be able to get out ahead of some problems if we knew what was cominâ our way.âÂ
âIâm not sure youâd be able to find stuff like that with an easy Google, Iâd hope people intent on causing some trouble arenât just going to post âon my way to Bon Temps to fuck shit upâ on any social medias but then again, people are idiots,â she thought about it for a second, pursing her lips, âI guess youâd at least benefit from an intro class to at least let you search for articles and the like, Iâll even show you the good porn sites if youâre good.â Really, sheâd probably be able to create a better security net with Centurion but that was entirely out of his scope of skill.

âI guess you heard me enough to come out here anyhow,â Sam shrugged, a sly smirk tugging at his lips. âWell, I guess our last conversation got me to thinkinâ about a few things. Everybody seems to be usinâ it these days. Figured maybe I ought to learn a few things.âÂ
âYou want me to teach you the whole internet? Thatâs quite the undertaking,â She couldnât help but be a little suspicious, heâd been so adamant about not being connected up until this point. âIâm not making you a facebook, if thatâs what youâre asking. You can discover that hellhole on your own.â

âHey now, the phone works just fine,â he said with a gesture to the old phone behind the bar, âwell, youâre about the only person I know that has more than a basic understandinâ of the Internet around here,â Sam smiled, âcould use some help with a few things.â
âI mean, yea, youâd be able to call for help if needed but forget about call quality,â she laughed before pausing at his words, âinternet? Iâve had to resort to bringing my own hotspot and youâre asking about the internet? Have you finally cracked under the pressure?â

Aaron didnât like any of this. Someone had the power to find him after not just one or two but three burner phone discards. She was good. Damn good. The fact that the calvary hadnât come for him was the only glimmer of hope. He had no idea what the angle was or what game was being played but he had no real choice but to go. He had to find out why this was happening.
It felt too easy. Like it was all staged. At a diner. It was too public for Eric Byerâs liking. He wouldâve wanted to lure him somewhere remote. Somewhere they could just drop a drone in and wipe him out. No risk, no attention. Blame it on some hunting cabinâs propane tank going up. This was something else entirely. She was calm, casual. Just sitting eating. Not afraid of what he was or what he might do, at least not in a crowded diner.
âWhat do you want?â Aaron questioned as he sat down with her. There was no reason to call more attention to them. He spared a quick glance around but no one seemed to be paying them any mind. âWho do you work for?â
Gwen nodded at the waitress as she delivered an over-large plate of bacon, definitely not something offered on the menu but she'd managed to convince them, "you sure you don't want food first? Or are you the type that gets too nervous to eat? Because, full disclosure, this isn't the only thing I ordered though the bulk will be bacon." Diners were the only place where her entire diet didn't revolve around alcohol, but that's not to say there weren't other vices involved.
She made it through a couple of pieces of bacon all the while taking in his demeanor, she could assume much more than tell that he was wildly suspicious of her. That's where she liked people to be, to be fair, but this time it felt a little like she had too much of an upper hand. Besides, she wouldn't get any answers she wanted if she wasn't willing to give him a little. Just a taste. "I work for myself but often people will seek me out because I have a unique set of skills. Let's just say, hiding from me is really hard. Without giving my sources away, I bet you already have a short list of who might want you found."
Swiveling a little on her bar stool, she faced him more head on, leaning against the counter in a highly relaxed fashion, "so, I've read up on you and while I'm pretty smart, some of that stuff went straight over my head. When they say enhanced, are we talking Inspector Gadget situation or straight up Steve Rogers?" Her gaze lingered at the top of his head, her thoughts travelling slightly, "did the propeller come out of his hat or his head?"
