Jenny - Studio Killers
“Heh, you liking it?” He tilted his head a bit. “I always heard that the place was more interesting to visit than live on. This might be the worst time to live on it yet, with the refugees everywhere. Nothing wrong with them. Just makes the station crowded and gets everyone on edge.”
The redhead shrugged her shoulders while her hands moved to join the two piles of cards into a neat stack. Her stay was as enjoyable as it could be with the consciously ignored chaos that took place in the nearby systems and the fact that her life was probably, most definitely in danger, but it did not compare to her previous memories of visits to the Citadel. Those were a lot more fun.
“As much as one can with all that’s going on.” She gave a small smile, splitting the stack in half and riffling them into another neat stack. “But I agree. It is a lot better to visit than live on; you never run out of new adventures that way.”

The Librarians has the best lines ever, don’t fight me on this
“I hear an old combat cyborg runs this place.” Deunan said as she strolled along the walkway towards the door.
“he fought during the global conflict, not sure which side he was on, not that it really mattered by the end of it.” She continued to elaborate, indeed the war was hard fought, and by the end, it’s purpose had been lost, and it had seemed nothing more than just senseless violence.”I heard after the war ended, he settled down, started a family, and decided he wanted to open a cafe.”
It appeared that cyborgs were a lot more popular in Olympus that she’d initially assumed; a surprising but interesting fact. And the war was only something that knew from history books. The little that she knew of the war was enough to tell that it hadn’t been gruesome.
Eyes flicking from the building before them to Deunan, Kelly pursed her lips with a tiny nod, quite pleased that the cafe owner was able to find some happiness.
“Got any recommendations for my fancy spacey taste buds, then? Since you’re more familiar with this place than I am.”
lol, you should know who my main marvel character is, after all, I used to be pretty active on that blog ;)
[...I thought it was too simple BUT I ACTUALLY GUESSED RIGHT. HA.]
“Long time. Long enough it seems weird to think about how long it’s been… sometimes feels like I just got here, y’know?” Maybe because of how long it had been since he actually started feeling like he was living. He needed more of that.
“You?”
The sentiment wasn’t shared due to their differences in experiences, but Kelly nodded nonetheless, a sign that, despite that, she understood the turian’s reasoning.
“Only a few months. Nearly three,” she answered. “I’ve visited before, a long time ago, but I’ve never stayed this long.”
@cerberusly replied to your post: [favorite transformers character: i’m gonna…
[-insert obnoxious anime laugh- it was either rodimus or ironhide :P glad I was right!]
There’s so many transformers to choose from lol, you wouldn’t have been off by saying Ironhide.
[I was gonna guess Marvel too but I don’t think that one is as obvious as it seems :T]
hecaknute:
“Whoa, I really am behind the times.” You’d think if there was an alliance between all these races, Deunan would have seen some of them on earth, or at the very least HEARD of a few of them.
Even the Citadel was news to her.
And judging by the way Kelly was counting her fingers, she probably missed a few races as well.
“Cafe is right around this corner.” Deunan gestured, it was a small building, looked like it was being operated out of someone’s house, which indeed it was.
A fact that was surprising to Kelly though she refrained from saying a thing about it. There was absolutely no need to say something callous (intentionally or not) to crumble the fragile foundation of their friendship.
She went over the list of mentioned aliens in her head, willing herself to remember the few that she was sure she’d forgotten until Deunan spoke once more.
“Oh! It looks very homey.”
“Rules--gotta love to hate them,” she remarked with a quiet laugh. As necessary as they were, Kelly often thought of them as welcome challenges where games were concerned. But sometimes, they held one back with lots of deep thinking and strategizing. A logical explanation as to why she hardly picked up games like chess. Scrabble, on the other hand--a piece of cake. Different, but a lot easier.
Falling silent until her pile was arranged into a small, nice stack, she gently pushed it towards Tavian’s pile.
“How long have you been on the Citadel?”

Silla and Jacob showing off the guns!
Kelly rescues a kitten and tries to keep it a secret from the rest of the crew, only to be discovered by the person she least expects.
“Oh no…where did he go?"
Kelly was distressed. She had snuck a little kitten, whom she named ‘Bandit’ because he was all white except for his face (which was black), onto the Normandy. On their last shore leave, she had found him abandoned and couldn’t bare the thought of leaving him since he was so tiny.
She had succeeded in concealing him from everyone thus far, but now he was missing. The only one who knew of the kitten was Gardner, who happily made food for the little guy and affectionately called him 'Soot Face’, but when she went to ask him if he’d seen Bandit, he told her he hadn’t.
After almost an hour of searching, Kelly was nearly in tears. So many scenarios were going through her head. W-what if a cat hating crew-member launched him out the garbage chute?! Or-or-or he wandered into the storage room and got crushed?!!? I need to find him!
She was so frantic and lost in thought that she didn’t notice Gabby trying to get her attention and walked right into her.
"What? Oh, Gabby! I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to run into you…I’m a bit distracted.” she said, sheepishly.
“I could tell, Kells,” Gabby said with a chuckle, “I was trying to tell you that Joker was lookin’ for you and asked to go see him when you had the chance.”
“Oh, okay. I’ll go to him now. Thanks Gabbs.” nodding a goodbye, she headed to the bridge.
—————-
“Hey Joker. Gabby told me you wanted to see me. What’s u-” Purring. She heard purring. It didn’t sound like any of the usual humming noises on the ship. It was quiet yet clear. “Joker?” She approached his chair and in his lap was sitting none other than Bandit, who happily mew’d at her as Joker scratched him behind the ears.
“…Where did you find hi-”
“He wandered into here and jumped on my lap about an hour ago.”
“…How did you know that he is mi-”
“Come on Kelly, you really have to ask that?…and no I won’t tell the Commander.”
“…Thanks, Joker.” she smiled happily at him, giving him a peck on the cheek.
