Left alone with your brotherâs annoying friend, the night takes a turn you never saw coming.
warnings: mild drug use, sexually explicit content
You stare at your reflection in the tiny bathroom mirror, hands trembling slightly as you touch up the last of your makeup. The light above you flickers like itâs trying to piss you off on purpose.
Tonight was supposed to be simple: a night out at Club Pentagon with your brother Subong and his insufferable friend Namgyu. Instead, youâre here in Namgyuâs bathroom, listening to the muffled thump of bass through the wall and trying not to scream.
Your stomach twists with irritation. You wouldnât even be here if it werenât for Subong begging you to come. âItâll be fun, little sis,â heâd said, completely oblivious to how you and Namgyu mix like oil and water. You only agreed because you miss spending time with your brother, ever since he fell into Namgyuâs orbit of clubbing and getting high, you hardly see him sober. If tagging along means keeping an eye on Subong, youâll swallow your pride for one night.
You flinch when a fist hits the door, loud and impatient. âHurry the fuck up in there,â Namgyuâs voice barks from the other side. Heâs been pacing outside for the last ten minutes, making it impossible to get ready in peace. Your grip on the mascara wand tightens. Heat flares in your chest
âYou can wait, asshole,â you snap back, trying to keep your hand steady as you coat your lashes. âIâm almost done, so chill.â
âJesus, how much fucking makeup do you need?âHis tone drips with condescension. You can practically picture the smug smirk on his face as he leans against the wall, probably running a hand through his hair.
Your jaw clenches. Every interaction with Namgyu feels like nails on a chalkboard. Donât engage, you remind yourself. But itâs useless. He always knows how to get under your skin.
A bitter comeback flies out before you can stop it. âSome of us actually care how we look. Unlike you, I donât roll out of bed smelling like booze and call it a day.â
Thereâs a beat of silence, then a low chuckle. âSure, princess. Keep telling yourself that makeup hides your bitchy attitude.â Heâs practically purring with provocation now. âThough that dress is doing a lot of heavy lifting. Who are you trying to impress? Or are you just hoping to get laid to loosen up that uptight ass of yours?â
You freeze, blood rushing to your cheeks in a mix of embarrassment and rage. You spent way too long stressing over what to wear, settling on a sleek black mini-dress that hugs your curves just right, paired with knee-high boots. Itâs bold for you, a departure from your usual jeans, but you wanted to feel confident tonight. Now Namgyuâs twisted it into something cheap.
Face burning, you fling open the bathroom door so hard it bounces off the stopper with a bang. Namgyu stands there in the narrow hallway, one eyebrow arched over those dark, mocking eyes. Heâs dressed in his typical club attire: ripped black jeans, a fitted grey tee that rides up just enough to flash a bit of a toned stomach when he shifts, and a worn leather jacket. The silver chain at his neck catches the light. Flashy. Just like everything about him. Heâs the picture of casual arrogance, arms crossed as he looks you up and down with a curled lip.
âFuck you, Namgyu,â you hiss, shouldering past him. Your bare arm grazes against his leather jacket and you pull away as if burned. The living room is just a few steps away, the whole apartment is small and poorly furnished, clearly a bachelor pad. Empty beer cans and takeout boxes litter the coffee table, and the smell of smoke clings to the sagging couch cushions. You whirl around to face him, anger boiling over.
âIâm âtrying to impressâ no one. And donât you dare talk to me about being uptight,â you spit out. âMaybe if you werenât such a misogynistic piece of shit, youâd know the difference between dressing for yourself and dressing for male attention.â
Namgyu saunters out of the hallway after you, leaving the bathroom door to drift shut. He towers a few good inches over you and uses every bit of it, looming with a lazy grin. âSpare me the feminist lecture,â he says, rolling his eyes. âYou walk into my place looking like that and expect me not to comment? Iâm just being honest, babe.â
âIâm not your babe,â you snap, heart pounding in your chest. He infuriates you. The way he says things, like heâs entitled to judge you. You fold your arms across your chest, suddenly self-conscious under his gaze, which keeps flicking over you. The air between you crackles with hostility.
Namgyu steps closer, the smell of his cologne invading your space. You refuse to back up, even as your nerves jangle. His head tips slightly, gaze crawling from your boots to your face without an ounce of shame. âWhatever you say,â he murmurs, then smirks. âBy the way, you missed a spot.â He gestures vaguely at your face.
  You blink. âWhat?â
He makes a circular motion at his own cheek. âYour makeup. Itâs uneven or something. But hey, maybe no oneâll notice in the dark. Lightingâs pretty forgiving at the club.â
Humiliation slams into you. You spent extra time trying to get everything perfect, and heâs saying you look⌠wrong? Instinctively, your hand twitches toward your purse for a compact mirror, but you catch yourself. This is exactly what he wants, to make you doubt yourself. To get under your skin and make fun of your insecurities.
You lift your chin instead. âEat shit, Namgyu,â you growl, forcing your voice not to waver. âLike Iâd trust your opinion on anything women related. The last time I saw you, you were drooling over some girl wearing fishnets as pants.â
Namgyuâs grin sharpens. âYeah, I remember. She was hot as fuck. Hooked up after, no regrets.â He licks his bottom lip suggestively, and you nearly gag. âUnlike some people who are all bark, no bite.â
Your hands ball into fists at your sides. âThe hell is that supposed to mean?â
He shrugs one shoulder. âIt means you talk a big game about being independent and dressing for yourself, but I bet youâd never have the guts to do what she did. You judge her, but at least she knows how to have fun.â He gives you a once-over again, slower this time. âAll this effort just to scowl all night? What a waste.â
A hot, prickling sensation creeps up your neck. âDonât compare me to your flavor of the week,â you say tightly. âAnd Iâm not judging her, Iâm judging you. You treat women like theyâre disposable, Namgyu. Itâs disgusting.â
He laughs. A short, harsh sound. âBetter than treating them like saints and getting walked all over. Not that youâd understand. Youâre too busy acting like youâre above everyone to actually get laid.â
The words hit a nerve. You flinch before you can stop yourself. Acting like youâre above everyone⌠Is that how he sees you? As some stuck-up prude? Your face burns, this time not just from anger but a flicker of shame. You open your mouth, a retort on the tip of your tongue, when your phone buzzes loudly in your purse.
You exhale, tearing your glare away from Namgyuâs infuriating face to yank your phone out. Saved by the bell, you think, relief short-lived as you see the caller ID: Subong.
Namgyuâs eyes narrow at the phone in your hand. âThat him?â
Ignoring Namgyu for a moment, you answer, turning slightly away. âWhere are you? Weâve been waitingââ
Subongâs voice crackles through, loud enough that even Namgyu can likely hear the tinny sound. âHey, Iâm so sorry. Something came up with my girl. Sheâs having a meltdown over some shit, and I⌠I canât leave her like this. Iâm not gonna make it tonight.â
It takes a second for his words to register. You frown, pressing the phone harder to your ear. âWait, what? Youâre bailing?â
Namgyu comes closer, trying to catch whatâs being said. You feel him hovering at your shoulder, and you twist away further, heat simmering again.
âLook, I know it sucks,â Subong continues, sounding genuinely upset, âbut I have to sort this out with her. Sheâs threatening to break up and⌠fuck, Iâm sorry. I swear Iâll make it up to you. Both of you. I owe you one, okay?â
Youâre silent, a mixture of disappointment and panic swirling in your gut. If Subongâs not coming, that leaves you here⌠alone with Namgyu for the rest of the night. The plan had been to meet up and head to the club together. Now everything is falling apart.
Subongâs still talking, oblivious to your inner crisis. âYou two should still go! Have fun, drink on my tab. Namgyu can get you in VIP. Seriously, I feel like shit for cancelling last minute. Just⌠try not to kill each other, alright?â He attempts a weak chuckle.
You canât even fake a laugh. Your eyes dart to Namgyu, whoâs watching your face intently, arms still crossed. You know he can tell somethingâs wrong. âYeah,â you say into the phone, voice flat. âSure. Take care of her. Bye.â Without waiting for a response, you hang up.
The moment you lower your phone, Namgyu asks, âWhat happened? Whereâs Thanos?â
You suck in a deep breath. âHeâs not coming.â
Namgyu blinks. âWhat do you mean ânot comingâ?â
You slide your phone back into your purse with stiff movements. âI mean heâs ditching us. Girlfriend problems or whatever.â The bitterness in your tone is unmistakable. âSo itâs justââ
âJust us,â Namgyu finishes, his voice flat.
For a heartbeat, neither of you speaks. The reality settles in the cramped living room like a foul odor. You feel your night splintering into chaos. Thereâs no way in hell youâll go clubbing alone with Namgyu. Youâd rather swallow glass.
He must feel similarly because he immediately shakes his head. âWell, fuck that. Iâm not going to Pentagon with just you.âÂ
âGlad we agree,â you retort, fuming. âSo do us both a favor and drive me home. Now.â
Namgyuâs brows shoot up at your demand, and for a second you think he might actually do it. Instead, he strolls around you and collapses onto the couch. He fishes his phone from his pocket and tosses it onto the cluttered coffee table, then runs a hand over his face. âGod, what a waste of a nightâŚâ he mutters.
You remain standing, arms tightly crossed. The thump of club music you heard earlier is now gone, maybe it was just in your head. In the silence, you notice your own heart pounding. âNamgyu,â you say sharply. âHello? Did you hear me? I want to go home.â
He tilts his head back against the couch, eyes closing for a moment. His Adamâs apple bobs as he swallows, then he cracks one eye open to look at you. âAnd I want you to stop bitching, but we canât always get what we want, can we?â
You stare at him, incredulous. âWhat is your problem? My brother just screwed us over, and now youâre throwing a tantrum? If youâre not going out, fine. Just drive me back. Or call me a taxi, I donât care.â
Namgyu sighs dramatically. âWill you chill for one second?â He reaches into his jacket pocket and pulls out a thin, hand-rolled blunt. You recognize the distinct brown leaf wrapper. He probably prepped it for later at the club. With an irritated grunt, he pats his other pockets and then looks at you expectantly. âYou got a lighter?â
You fumble, thrown off by the random request. âSeriously? Youâre going to get high right now?â
He flashes you a sarcastic grin. âI was planning to later anyway. Might as well salvage something from this shitshow. Now, do you have a lighter or do I have to get up?â
Unbelievable. You dig in your purse on autopilot, your hands are shaking with frustration and some leftover adrenaline from the earlier fight. You find a pink lighter. Wordlessly, you toss it to Namgyu.
He catches it in one smooth motion. âThanks,â he says, voice thick with sarcasm, as if youâve done him a grand favor. Then he hesitates. His gaze flickers over you, less hostile now and more considering. âLook⌠Iâll take you home after this, okay? Ten minutes. Relax.â
You open your mouth to say something back. Something about how he should take you now, not after he gets high, but you bite it back. Heâs clearly not budging, and a taxi ride alone from this part of town doesnât thrill you. Namgyuâs apartment is in a sketchier part of the city, somewhere you wouldnât wander by yourself at night. He knows it too, you can tell by the way he watches you wrestle internally with your options. Damn it.
âFine,â you say curtly, moving to perch on the arm of a chair across from the couch. You make sure to smooth your dress down, aware of his eyes flicking to the exposed length of your thighs. âTen minutes. Thatâs it. Then youâre driving me home.â
He doesnât respond, already holding the blunt between his lips. He sparks the lighter. The tip of the blunt glows orange as he inhales deeply. Almost immediately, the pungent scent of weed fills the small living room. Earthy and a little sweet. It blends with the stale tobacco odor that clings to everything Namgyu owns.
You watch him through narrowed eyes. His lashes flutter shut as he holds the smoke in his lungs, head tipped back. For a brief moment, with his guard down, he looks almost peaceful. Strong features softened in the dim light, full lips parted as he finally exhaled a long stream of smoke toward the stained ceiling. The tension in his posture eases slightly.
Itâs the calmest youâve seen him all evening, maybe ever. Not that youâre looking, you tell yourself, but your gaze betrays you. Thereâs something morbidly fascinating about Namgyu in his element like this. The asshole whoâs been tormenting you all night is, for a few seconds, just a guy unwinding.
He catches you staring. Of course he does. Those dark eyes cut to you through the haze, and the corner of his mouth lifts. âWant a hit?â he asks, voice raspier after holding the smoke. He extends the blunt toward you between two fingers, the offer almost gentlemanly if not for the smirk.
  You blink, thrown off. âWhat?â
He waves the smoking blunt slightly. âDo you want a hit, (Y/N)? It might get that stick out of your ass for a bit.â Then he adds with a thoughtful expression, âUnless youâre too much of a good girl to indulge?â
His words are needling, but thereâs less venom behind them than before. More like heâs teasing. You glare at him all the same, ignoring the prickle of temptation. You donât often smoke weed, just a few times in college, and occasionally with Subong when he was desperate for company and you were desperate to understand what was pulling him away. Itâs not really your thing. Yet right now, your nerves are frayed and your night is ruined. Maybe a little escape would be welcome.
Namgyu raises an eyebrow at your silence. âThought so,â he says, about to retract the offer.
Something rebellious flares in you. Before you can think it through, you push off the chair and cross the space between you. âGive me that,â you mutter, plucking the blunt from his fingers.
A look of surprise flickers across his face, quickly masked by a cocky grin. âWell, well. Look whoâs full of surprises tonight.â
You ignore him and bring the blunt to your lips like youâve seen Subong do countless times. Inhale, deep but careful, you tell yourself. The moment you draw the smoke into your mouth and then down your throat, a harsh burn scratches at your lungs. You break into a cough, heat searing your chest, and quickly pass the blunt back to Namgyu as you cover your mouth.
Heâs laughing at you, of course. âSmooth,â he comments, but he shuffles over on the couch, patting the seat beside him. âSit down before you fall down, maybe.â
Your eyes water from the coughing fit and embarrassment. You want to snap at him, but the truth is your knees do feel a little wobbly. Partly from the coughing, partly from the adrenaline crash. Reluctantly, you sink down onto the far end of the couch. The cushions sag under your weight, tilting you slightly toward Namgyu.
He offers the blunt again, now that youâve recovered. âTry again. Slower this time. Donât hold it in so long if you canât handle it.â
You tense at his tone, but snatch the blunt anyway, determined to not look completely incompetent. Another drag, smaller this time. The smoke curls into your lungs and you let it out quickly, coughing only a little. The second attempt goes better, a tendril of warmth unfurls in your chest, spreading to your limbs.
Namgyu watches you with a lazy half-smile. âThere you go. Not so hard, huh?â
The sarcasm in his voice is mild now. You hand the blunt back, leaning into the couch as you exhale slowly. A strange calm begins to creep in, like your anger is a radio someone just dialed down. Itâs not gone, just not blaring in your ears so loudly.
âDonât get used to it,â you mumble. Youâre not sure if you mean the weed or sitting civilly with Namgyu on a couch sharing a smoke. Maybe both.
He chuckles, a low sound that vibrates through the quiet room. âTrust me, Iâm not. But I gotta admit, Iâm impressed. I figured youâd march out of here the second your brother bailed.â
âI thought about it,â you confess bluntly. The honesty surprises even you, but the filter between your brain and mouth feels like itâs loosening. âBut this neighborhood is sketchy and the buses are shit at night. So⌠Iâm kinda stuck with you.â
âLucky me,â Namgyu says dryly, but thereâs no bite to it. He takes another slow drag, then passes the blunt back. As your fingers brush his, you notice the rough calluses on his fingertips, probably from rolling so many joints or handling whatever other drugs he both deals and uses. For some reason, that detail sticks in your mind.
Silence settles as you take another hit. Itâs not exactly comfortable silence. There's too much history of animosity for that, but itâs less charged than before. The weedâs effects are subtle but growing. Your limbs feel looser, your head a touch light. The tension in your shoulders unknots itself. Even Namgyu seems more relaxed, sinking into the cushions, manspreading in that obnoxious way but at least not on full alert to start shit with you.
Your eyes drift over the coffee table: a couple of empty Soju bottles, a half-full ashtray, crumpled receipts. Among them, a small framed photo stands out, unexpected in the mess. Itâs of Subong and Namgyu from last summer, arms slung around each otherâs shoulders in front of Club Pentagonâs neon sign. Your brotherâs grinning wide, clearly buzzed, and Namgyu has the goofiest expression youâve ever seen on him, both middle fingers up at the camera. They look so⌠happy. Carefree idiots. You remember Subong showing you that photo, trying to convince you Namgyu wasnât that bad once you âgot to know him.â Youâd laughed in your brotherâs face then.
Now, with a slight haze settling in your mind, you find yourself pointing at the photo. âYou and my brother,â you say, âhow did that even start? You two donât exactly make sense as friends.â
Namgyuâs gaze follows your finger to the photo. He snorts. âMet at the club, how? He was a paying customer, I was the charming promoter. One thing led to another. Shots, girls, a little coke in the bathroom and bam, buds.â He says it like itâs the most natural thing in the world.
You frown. The mention of coke sends a ripple of worry through you, even in your relaxed state. âI wish heâd never met you,â you say quietly, almost to yourself.
Namgyu exhales smoke and laughs under his breath. âYou and me both, sometimes.â
That answer surprises you. You turn to look at him fully. âWhatâs that supposed to mean?â
He shrugs, tapping ash off the blunt into an empty can. âJust that your brotherâs a pain in my ass too, princess. I didnât sign up to be anyoneâs dealer-slash-babysitter. But he kept coming around, and, I dunno⌠he grows on you.â Namgyu rolls his eyes. âLike a fungus.â
Despite yourself, a tiny smile tugs at your lips. Itâs bizarre to hear him talk about Subong like that. Almost affectionately, in his own twisted way. Normally you only hear secondhand accounts from your brother or catch glimpses of them together when youâre picking Subong up after a bender. Youâve never bothered to wonder how Namgyu feels about any of it, or why he sticks around when even you know Subong treats him like crap sometimes.
âI know he looks down on you,â you blurt, the filter in your brain apparently completely gone now. âSubong⌠he talks like youâre just his fix.â You bite your lip. You hadnât meant to spill that, but itâs true. Youâve heard your brother on the phone bragging about how heâs got Namgyu âwrapped around his fingerâ for any party favor he needs. It always made you uneasy, like Namgyu was some rabid dog that could bite back any time.
Namgyu is silent for a moment, jaw tight. He doesnât meet your eyes. When he speaks, his tone is neutral, but a muscle twitches in his cheek. âHeâs not wrong. I mean, what do I do? I get him high. He gets me into VIP rooms with his trust fund friends who want product. Itâs mutual use, princess. Symbiotic, even. Save your judgment.â
Itâs weird. Normally his assholery hits you like darts, but right now, it almost sounds like heâs deflecting. You can sense a bitterness under the surface. Maybe even hurt? But before you can decide, he smirks and nods at the blunt in your hand. âYou gonna finish that or just hold it all night?â
Startled, you bring it to your lips and draw one last hit. The paper has burned down almost to the end. You cough softly as you exhale, and he plucks it from your fingers, stubbing it out in the ashtray.
Almost immediately, he pulls a pack of cigarettes from his jacket and lights one. âSeriously?â you groan, waving smoke away from your face. âMore?â
âNicotine boost,â he says, leaning back with the cigarette dangling from his lips. âAnd itâs my place, so yeah. Seriously.â He regards you through the thinning weed haze, blowing a stream of lighter smoke upward. âBut look at that, we actually shared something without biting each otherâs heads off. Miracle.â
You roll your eyes but canât deny it. The fight in you has dulled to embers. The weed has wrapped you in a peculiar tranquility, where everything, even sitting here with him, feels one step removed and softer at the edges. Your body is relaxed against the couch, limbs loose, head pleasantly buzzing. Even your anger has been gentled. Not gone, but gentled.
âDonât get used to it,â you repeat, but thereâs no heat in it. Your eyes drift over Namgyuâs profile as he smokes. He has one arm slung over the back of the couch now, not quite touching your shoulders but close enough you feel the warmth radiating from him. His t-shirt rides up a bit, revealing a bit of his stomach and the trail of a tattoo curling up from his hip. You catch yourself staring at the ink and quickly look away, focusing on the dirty coffee table again. Anything but him.
Namgyu notices anyway. He always notices. âSomething interesting?â he drawls.
âNope,â you say quickly. But then a bubble of curiosity, fueled by the weedâs uninhibiting effects, pushes you to speak. âWhatâs the tattoo of?â you nod vaguely at his waist.
He glances down as if heâs forgotten itâs there. âOh. This old thing?â He lifts the hem of his shirt a couple of inches, enough to give you a better look. Itâs a black-ink design slashing across his right hip: some kind of stylized dragon or snake, youâre not sure, curling towards his abs. The skin looks a little scarred in places, like it was done in haste or by someone learning. âJust stupid teenage choices,â he says dismissively, dropping the shirt. âDoesnât mean anything.â
You find yourself oddly disappointed at the lack of a story. Maybe you expected something more dramatic, like he got it in a gang or for a lost love. But of course he wonât give you that, even if it were true. Heâs always been a closed book.
Still, the brief glimpse of his skin has you unnerved. You hate to admit it, but Namgyu has always been attractive in a dangerous way. You noticed it against your will the first time Subong dragged you out to meet him. He was hot before he opened his mouth and ruined it with his personality. Heâs lean but strong, with those sharp cheekbones and perpetually messy black hair that just begs fingers to tame it. Not that youâve ever thought about doing that.
Nope, absolutely not. You shake your head, physically dismissing the thought. You blame the high for loosening your control. Heat rises in your cheeks again, but this time itâs not pure anger. Itâs something more confusing.
To fill the silence and your own awkwardness, you latch onto the first topic that drifts through your hazy mind. âSo⌠besides dealing and pissing people off, what do you do for fun?â
Namgyu chuckles, a puff of cigarette smoke escaping his lips. âWho says I piss people off for fun? Thatâs just a bonus.â He takes another drag, then stubs the cigarette out half-finished on the same ashtray. You wonder idly if heâs actually anxious. He usually smokes to look cool or out of boredom, but leaving one burning out is unusual. Maybe the conversation is making him restless too.
âIâm serious,â you insist, turning to face him a bit more. Your knee bumps into his thigh and you both pause at the contact. Neither of you moves away, though your pulse ticks up. âWhat do you do when youâre not at the club? Thereâs gotta be more to you than free drugs and a big ego.â
Namgyu laughs. âYou really wanna know?â
âI⌠yeah.â Do you? The sober part of you might not, but right now some curious part does. âUnless itâs going to bore me to death, sure.â
He runs his tongue over his teeth, considering. âAlright. Fun. Letâs see⌠I like music.â
You blink, not expecting something so normal. âMusic?â
âYeah, you know, those sounds people listen to for enjoyment,â he says sarcastically. âI DJ sometimes on off-nights at the club. Write some mixes. Not that youâd know, youâve never come when Iâm spinning.â
This is news. You recall Subong mentioning Namgyu messing with playlists occasionally, but you always assumed it was just him blasting bass-heavy crap. âWhat kind of music?â
âEDM, mostly. Trap, house⌠shit that gets girls shaking ass like the biggest sluts.â
He waggles his eyebrows comically, and you groan.
âOf course.â So much for depth, he made it sleazy again. Still, the idea of Namgyu focusing on something creative like mixing music is oddly humanizing.
He continues, âI also watch movies, play some games, normal shit.â Then he grins wickedly. âAnd fuck. Thatâs a hobby, right?â
You roll your eyes hard. âYou would count that as a hobby.â
He chuckles. âWhy not? Itâs fun. Good exercise too. And Iâm damn good at it.â
The arrogance in his voice is simultaneously irritating and strangely intriguing. You canât help but laugh. âOh really? Is that what all the girls say when theyâre done with you?â
âPretty much, yeah,â he says, casual as anything. âThough usually they canât talk right after, being exhausted and all.â
You make a gagging noise. âOh my God, shut up. Iâm gonna puke.â
He just smirks. âTruth hurts, princess. Donât blame me because youâve only been with boys who couldnât find the clit if it bit them.â
Your mouth falls open in shock. âExcuse me?â
He shrugs, totally unrepentant. âIâm just saying, youâre constantly bitching about shit. Maybe you need some good dick to sort you out.Â
You shoot him a glare. Heart thudding grossed out, but also unsettled by how much it gets to you.
Itâs not like you havenât had⌠well, youâve had an okay sex life. With your ex. It was fine. Fine, not mind-blowing, but fine. But Namgyu doesnât need to know any of that.
âYou have no idea what youâre talking about,â you snap, but thereâs less venom than usual. Possibly because youâre distinctly aware that your limbs are soft from the high and your comebacks are coming slower. âUnlike you, I donât base my self-worth on who Iâve slept with or how many notches are in my bedpost.â
Namgyuâs eyes gleam. âThat wasnât a denial.â
Shit. You scowl at him, lifting your chin defiantly. âMy sex life is none of your business, Namgyu.â
He raises his hands in mock surrender, though the grin stays. âAlright, alright. Touchy subject. I get it. Must be a dry spell.â
You almost lunge at him, but manage to restrain yourself, nails biting crescents into your palms. âGod, I hate you,â you mutter. The problem is heâs too perceptive even when high. Your reaction gave away more than you wanted. Now he looks like a cat whoâs cornered a mouse, delighted and toying.
âIf looks could kill, Iâd be six feet under,â he teases. He scoots a fraction closer; you feel the cushions shift, and suddenly your thigh is against his. A zap of awareness goes through you at the contact. Namgyu lowers his voice conspiratorially. âCâmon, tell me one thing. Whenâs the last time you got laid? Bet itâs been a while.â
You grit your teeth. âNone of your business,â you repeat, but heâs not wrong. Since your ex, you havenât exactly had the energy or trust to sleep with anyone else. Sure, there were a few dates, some drunken makeouts that went nowhere. Your standards climbed sky-high after being burned. The memory of catching your ex screwing his colleague on his couch while you stood there with a birthday cake still twists your gut.
A flicker of that hurt must show on your face, because Namgyuâs smirk fades a touch. âOh,â he says softly. âThat bad, huh?â
His tone holds something almost like understanding, and that strange gentleness is worse than his taunting. You donât want his pity or whatever this is. You cross your arms defensively. âDrop it. Iâm not joking.â
Namgyu tilts his head, studying you. Maybe itâs the low lamplight or the way your head is swimming, but you think his gaze softens for a split second. Then he kicks his feet up onto the coffee table, ankles crossed, affecting nonchalance. âAlright. No need to bite my head off. I was just curious. The tension on you is so thick.â
You huff, not sure if that was another insult or a weird observation. Possibly both. Heâs not entirely wrong. You've been on edge a lot these days, stressed from work, constantly worrying about Subong, and pissed off at life in general. But youâre not about to unpack that with Namgyu of all people.
âSo, your idea of fun is screwing and bragging about it,â you say, redirecting away from yourself. âWhat an exciting life you have.â
He laughs. âThereâs that sharp tongue. Careful, I might start thinking youâre fun to hang out with after all.â
That draws a genuine scoff from you. âIn your dreams.â
The high peeled back that usual filter in your brain, leaving things messier, more honest.
You find yourself saying things you normally wouldnât and surprisingly not regretting it instantly.
Namgyu stretches, raising his arms above his head until his joints crack. Your eyes unintentionally skim up the strip of skin revealed where his shirt lifts: a lean V-line diving below his belt, more of that tattoo peeking out. You swallow and force yourself to look away, pretending to pick at a stray thread on your dress.
He drops his arms and suddenly asks, âSo what about you? What do you do for fun, when youâre not judging me and Subong?â
The question is so unexpected you have to think. What do you do for fun nowadays? It feels like all you do is work, go home, occasionally drag your brother out of trouble, and repeat. How sad is that?
âI⌠read, sometimes,â you say lamely. âWatch Netflix. Hang out with friends.â Although youâve been distant with friends lately, canceling plans because youâre either too tired or anxious about leaving your mom alone. She's been a wreck since she discovered Subongâs habit.
Namgyu raises an eyebrow. âThatâs it? And you call me boring.â
âI didnât say you were boring, I said youâre a sleaze,â you correct, then sigh. âAnd yeah, I know. My lifeâs not exactly wild. Sorry it doesnât measure up to yours.â
He regards you, an unreadable expression on his face. âEver think maybe thatâs why you got cheated on?â
The comment is like a slap. You flinch as if struck, eyes widening. âWhat the fuck did you just say?â
He doesnât back down. âYour ex. He cheated, right? I heard something like that from Thanos. Maybe if you werenât so⌠I dunno, predictable, he wouldnât have gone looking elsewhere.â
Anger whooshes back in, dousing the mellow haze. A pressure builds behind your eyes, angry tears threatening. But you refuse to show that weakness. That wound is still raw beneath layers of scar tissue and here he is poking it casually.
âThatâs rich coming from you, Namgyu,â you manage to bite out, voice trembling despite your efforts. âYou barely know anything about me or that relationship. But sure, blame me for a manâs shitty choices. How very on-brand of you, you misogynistic prick.â
He actually has the decency to look a bit contrite, a crease forming between his brows. âHey, Iâm just stating facts. It sucks, but guys get bored if you donât keep things interesting.â
You shake your head in disbelief, a bitter laugh escaping. âRight, because itâs the womanâs job to be a circus act to hold a manâs attention. You really are a piece of work.â
Namgyu exhales slowly, irritation crossing his features. âTwist my words all you want, princess. Iâm trying to give you a fucking insight and youâre taking it personal.â
You glare daggers at him. âHow is it not personal? Youâre talking about my life, my relationship that you know nothing about.â Your voice rises, cracking. âYou donât know how hard I tried to make it work with him, what I put up with, how Iââ You cut yourself off, realizing you were about to spill far too much.
Namgyuâs face shifts, less cocky now, more attentive. âHow you what?â he prompts quietly.
Your heart thuds. The walls you usually keep so sturdily in place are wobbling, weakened by weed and emotion. Your chest is tight, you press a fist there as if it could hold the hurt in. âHow I never measured up,â you finish bitterly. âAt least, thatâs how it felt. No matter what I did, it wasnât enough for him. Not exciting enough, not sexy enough, notââ you gesture vaguely, âwhatever.â
The admission hangs in the air, and immediately you regret it. You hate that you admitted that to him of all people. You sink back, dragging a hand over your face. âFuck. I canât believe Iâm talking about this.â
Namgyu is quiet, surprisingly so. When you peek at him through your fingers, he isnât smirking. Heâs watching you with an expression you canât quite decipher. It almost looks like⌠understanding. Maybe even sympathy. But itâs gone too fast to tell, replaced by his usual half-grin, though it doesnât reach his eyes.
âWell, his loss,â he says casually, but thereâs a rough edge to it. âIf I had a girl like youââ
He stops abruptly, and your heart skips a beat. Did you hear that right? The air in the room suddenly feels charged again, but with something different from anger or annoyance. Namgyuâs looking away, jaw working as if heâs angry at himself.
Slowly, you find your voice. âIf you had a girl like me⌠what?â
He flicks his eyes back to you, then lets out a low laugh, shaking his head. âNah. Forget it. I was just talking out of my ass.â
Youâre not about to let that slide. Maybe itâs masochistic, but you press on, needing to know. âNo, tell me. If you had a girl like me, what?â
Namgyu meets your gaze directly now. Thereâs a heat in his eyes that wasnât there before, or maybe it was and youâre only now noticing it. It makes your breath catch.
âYou really want to know?â he asks quietly.
The way he says it makes your skin pebble with goosebumps. You nod, though youâre not entirely sure youâre prepared for his answer.
He leans in slightly, resting his forearm on his thigh, his body angled toward you. You can see the faint stubble along his jaw. When he speaks, his voice is low, deliberate.
âIf I had a girl like you, I sure as hell wouldnât leave her wanting,â he says. âNot for anything. Not attention⌠not respectâŚâ His eyes dip down your form and back up, igniting sparks under your skin. âAnd definitely not pleasure.â
The bluntness of that last word sends a hot flush through you. Your mouth goes dry. You should laugh it off or slap him or something, but youâre frozen, hanging on that husky tone. Heâs likely just fucking with you. He has to be. But it doesnât stop your pulse from thudding in your ears.
Namgyu smirks lightly at your speechless figure. âIâm just saying, princess, some guys actually know how to take care of a woman. Sounds like your ex wasnât one of them.â
You search his face for any sign heâs joking, that this is just a way to humiliate you further. But his expression is oddly serious despite the quirk of his lips. Thereâs something hungry in his eyes that wasnât there before, or maybe it was and youâre only now noticing it.
Namgyu reaches out, slowly, giving you time to stop him. He takes a lock of your hair between his fingers, rubbing it gently as if examining the texture. The gesture is surprisingly tender, and it sends a tingle across your scalp. âHe mustâve been a fucking idiot,â he murmurs, âto not want to taste you.â
Your breath catches. The words are obscene, but the way he says them, almost reverent and low, makes your thighs clench unconsciously. Heat floods your face, and youâre caught between mortification and sudden arousal. You should slap him for being so vulgar. You should laugh it off. You should do anything but stare at him with your lips parted and your body betraying you with a surge of desire.
But you do stare. And he stares back, that cocky mask dropping completely now. What remains is raw and unreadable except for one thing: lust. You recognize it because itâs mirrored in how your own belly flips and tightens.
âYou⌠youâre high,â you whisper, a weak attempt to break whatever spell is coiling around you both. âYou donât know what youâre saying.â
Namgyuâs fingers leave your hair to trail lightly down your cheek. You shiver. âI know exactly what Iâm saying,â he replies softly. âIâm saying your ex was a moron. And that maybe you shouldnât knock me until you try me.â
Your brain misfires. Did he justâ?
The world tilts as Namgyu shifts nearer, his face now inches from yours. You can see the subtle variation of brown in his irises and the way his throat moves as he swallows. The scent of him surrounds you. A mix of smoke, cheap aftershave, and something warm and male underneath. Itâs not unpleasant. In fact, itâs dizzying in a way that makes you feel even more lightheaded than the weed alone.
âYouâre out of your damn mind,â you finally manage to croak, but your voice lacks conviction. It comes out husky, almost needy, and you internally cringe at how weak it sounds.
âMaybe,â he breathes, eyes flicking to your lips. âBut the offer stands.â
Offer. The word sends a jolt through you. This is actually happening. Namgyu is offering. No, basically suggesting that heâll go down on you. To let you experience what youâve missed. The audacity, the arrogance, and yet⌠the thought makes your entire body flush hot.
Your rational mind screams at you to say no, to push him away. This is Namgyu. The man you loathe. Your brotherâs fuck-up friend. You shouldnât even consider this.
But then another part of you, possibly influenced by being high and definitely by the lingering frustration and curiosity of years, whispers: Why not?
Itâs just physical, right? Two people blowing off steam. It doesnât mean you suddenly like him. In fact, you could blame it on the weed and anger and everything colliding. And whoâs going to know? Subong bailed. Itâs just you two, alone in this apartment where secrets likely pile up with the dust.
You realize youâve been quiet for too long. Namgyu misreads it as reluctance or outright rejection. Slowly, he pulls back a few inches, clearing his throat. His hand drops from your face. âForget it,â he mutters, a defensive edge returning to his tone. âStupid idea.â
The loss of his warmth on your skin spurs you to action. Without fully knowing why, you reach out and grab his wrist before he can retreat completely. âWait.â
He stills, looking at you in surprise. You donât think youâve ever willingly touched him before. His skin is warm under your hand, his pulse skittering at the base of his arm. You gather your courage, pushing aside a lifetime of animosity just for this suspended moment.
âYouâre serious?â you ask softly, needing confirmation straight from him. âYouâd⌠do that? For me?â
Namgyuâs eyes flicker with something. Perhaps shock that youâre actually considering it. Then they darken, and he leans back into your space slightly, the tension between you coiling tight again. âI donât say shit I donât mean, princess. If you want itâŚâ His gaze travels down your body and up, lingering on the press of your breasts against your arms where youâre still tensely hugging your knees. âIâll give it to you. No strings attached. Think of it as⌠a favor.â
You nearly snort. A favor. Right. More like he wants to prove a point. But damned if you arenât tempted beyond reason now.
This is insane, the last lucid part of you interjects. You canât sleep with Namgyu. Thereâs literally no one worse to mess around with. This will complicate everything, and if your brother ever found outâ
But he wonât find out. Because youâll never tell him, and Namgyu certainly wonât either. It would ruin their friendship and probably cut off his best customer.
Itâll just be this once, a devil on your shoulder murmurs. An itch scratched. Then you can both pretend it never happened.
Your heart beats so loudly youâre sure he can hear it. You slowly release his wrist, only for him to take your hand in his, calloused thumb brushing the inside of your palm in an almost soothing motion. It sends tingles all the way up your arm.
âAnd you think you can actually get me off?â you say, trying to inject some challenge in your tone to mask how close you are to caving. âWhat, like all those other girls you brag about?â
He sees right through your bravado. âIâve never had any complaints in that department.â Then he adds, eyes locking with yours, âBut I guess youâll have to find out for yourself.â
Your breath hitches. The ballâs back in your court. Decide, heâs saying. Yes or no.
Time seems to slow. In the space of a few seconds, a cascade of thoughts and images flood your mind. You imagine what it might be like. Namgyuâs head between your thighs, that sharp tongue of his put to better use, his hands holding you down, your fingers in that messy hair. The idea is outrageous, terrifying, and incredibly arousing. Your core contracts and you realize with a start that youâre wet, just from the thought and the heated look heâs giving you.
You could say no. Stand up, call a cab, run away from this. But you know you wonât. Because youâre tired of always doing the right thing, tired of the what-ifs and missed experiences. Tired of holding yourself back out of fear or principle. You rationalize it swiftly. Itâs one night. Youâre both a little high, pent-up, and clearly attracted enough to entertain this. You can do this and still hate him tomorrow.
In fact, a part of you wants to do it because you hate him, like extracting a twisted revenge by using each otherâs bodies. Fuelled by all those emotions you keep bottled up. Release, in the purest form.
The words leave you in a soft exhale: âFuck it.â
Namgyuâs eyes widen a fraction. âYeah?â
You lick your lips and nod, your decision solidifying in the drum of your pulse. âYeah. Just⌠donât make me regret it, or I swearââ
He doesnât let you finish. In one swift movement, Namgyu closes the scant distance and kisses you.
Itâs like a spark hitting a fuse. The moment his lips crush against yours, every rational thought left in your brain incinerates. You gasp against his mouth, shocked by the suddenness, but he takes the opportunity to slide his tongue against yours, a bold, filthy stroke that draws a whimper from you.
Itâs not a gentle kiss. There's nothing gentle about Namgyu, apparently even now. Itâs bruising, aggressive, a clash of teeth and tongue as you respond with equal fervor. All the pent-up frustration, the years of mutual antagonism, it spills into the kiss, making it far hotter than it has any right to be. You pour your anger and confusion into biting at his lower lip, and he retaliates with a growl, one large hand coming up to cup the back of your head, tangling in your hair to hold you in place.
Your hands hover uncertainly. One grips his shoulder through his jacket, the leather cool and smooth under your fingers, while the other, almost of its own accord, slides up the hard plane of his chest. You feel his heart thudding nearly as hard as yours beneath your palm.
He tastes faintly of smoke and mint, and something sweet from the blunt. Itâs intoxicating. Or maybe thatâs just the lack of oxygen because heâs kissing you like he wants to devour you and youâre letting him.
A small, distant voice in your head screams that this is Namgyu youâre making out with, how can you stomach it? But that voice is drowned out by the roar of your blood and the heat coiling in your belly.
Namgyu nips at your bottom lip, eliciting a sharp inhale from you. He smirks against your mouth. âStill with me, princess?â
âShut up,â you breathe, then pull him back in, surprising both of you with your urgency. You slide your hands up around his neck, fingers curling in the hair at his nape. Itâs as soft as it looks, damp still from an earlier shower or product. You tug, and he makes a delicious sound low in his throat, deepening the kiss in retaliation until youâre dizzy.
At some point, he shifts, guiding you to lie back against the couch. You find yourself pressed into the worn cushions as Namgyu moves over you, one knee sliding between your thighs. Your dress hikes up your legs, and you couldnât care less at the moment. All you care about is the solid weight of him partially on top of you and the way his mouth has begun to wander from your lips to your jaw and down your neck.
He bites at the sensitive spot where your neck meets shoulder just hard enough to make you gasp. Then soothes it with a hot, open-mouthed kiss. Your back arches involuntarily, breasts pressing against his chest. He notices, of course, and a hand that had been gripping your waist slides up to the neckline of your dress.
âIs this okay?â he mutters against your skin, fingers teasing the strap.
Itâs almost sweet that he asked, like heâs checking in. Youâd be more touched if he didnât follow it up immediately with a typical Namgyu remark. âI mean, I assume you want more and not just a PG-13 makeout.â
You huff a breathless laugh, tilting your head back to give him better access as he kisses along your collarbone. âYes, dumbass. Itâs okay.â
âGood,â he growls, and with that, he yanks one strap of your dress down, then the other, not even bothering to find a zipper. The stretchy fabric gives way, and suddenly your bra is exposed. He wastes no time pulling the cup down to free one breast, his mouth descending on your nipple so quickly it forces a shocked cry from you.
Your hands fly to his shoulders, gripping as his tongue circles the sensitive peak, then closes his lips around it to suck. Your nerves are on fire. You can feel that sensation spearing straight down between your legs. You clamp your thighs around the knee heâs pressed against you, a reflexive attempt to ease the ache building there.
âFuck,â you whimper, the expletive drawn out into a moan as he gently bites your nipple. It sends a lightning bolt of pain-pleasure through you. He soothes it with another lap of his tongue, looking up at you through heavy-lidded eyes.
Your hand finds the side of his head, fingers threading in his hair again. Not to pull him away, but to hold him there, wordlessly urging him on. He obliges, giving attention to your other breast, tugging the dress and bra down enough to expose it as well. His big hand cups you, thumb strumming over the nipple not currently in his mouth.
Itâs almost too much. You feel your pulse between your thighs, your panties undoubtedly damp by now. You canât remember the last time youâve been this turned on. Scratch that, youâve never been quite this turned on. Maybe itâs the taboo nature of it, the hate-turned-lust, or just Namgyu actually being as skilled as he boasts. Whatever it is, it has you writhing under him, your hips instinctively grinding up against the pressure of his knee between your legs.
Namgyu notices your squirming. He releases your nipple with a wet pop, leaving both your breasts slick with his saliva and cool in the open air. The combined sensation of chilled air and heat from his mouth makes you shudder.
âSomeoneâs eager,â he taunts, but his voice is thick, belying his own arousal. He plants a hand on your thigh, just below the hem of your ruched-up skirt. The weight of his palm on your bare skin sends a thrill up your spine. âRelax. I told you Iâd take care of you, didnât I?â
You bite your lip, nodding, because words seem to have abandoned you. Thereâs an urge to snark back, to maintain some upper hand, but it melts away when his fingers inch higher, tracing light patterns on your inner thigh.
He nudges your thighs apart a bit more, sliding down until heâs kneeling on the floor between your legs, the couch cushions supporting your back. The sight of Namgyu on his knees for you is almost as heady as the feeling of his hands pushing your skirt fully up around your hips. He hooks his fingers into the sides of your panties and raises an eyebrow, silently asking permission.
It occurs to you, fleetingly, that this is it. Cross this line and nothing between you will ever be the same. But honestly, things were never good between you to begin with. At least this would be a different kind of tension.
And you want it. God, you want it so bad you can taste it.
You lift your hips slightly, granting him access. Thatâs all the answer he needs. In one swift motion, he drags your panties down your legs, tossing the scrap of fabric aside. You cringe internally at how wet they are. Evidence of just how affected you are by him. But if Namgyu notices, he doesnât tease for once. His focus is laser-sharp on the prize between your thighs.
The air against your damp, exposed core makes you shiver, but not as much as the look in Namgyuâs eyes when he settles his gaze there. Itâs a mix of hunger and smug male pride.
He licks his lips. âDamn, princess⌠youâre already dripping.â He says it almost reverently, his hands sliding up your thighs to gently push them further apart. You flush deeply at his words, instinctively trying to press your knees together to hide yourself, but he holds you firmly.
âDonât,â he murmurs, and the unexpected tenderness in that single word freezes you. âI want to see.â
Your cheeks are on fire, but you force yourself to drop your knees open again. Youâve never felt so vulnerable lying half-dressed on Namgyuâs couch, legs spread with his face hovering inches from your most private area. The one no man has ever given his full attention to. Your heart hammers at the thought that this is Namgyu about to do this. Namgyu, who you always said you hated. And yet, the anticipation coursing through you doesnât feel like hate at all.
He trails a finger down your slit, feather-light, and you jerk at the contact, a soft cry escaping. Youâre embarrassingly sensitive, all your nerve endings on high alert.
âEasy,â he coos, in a tone that might be mocking if it wasnât so throaty. His finger slides through your folds again, gathering wetness, then he brings it to his lips and sucks it off with a hum of satisfaction. âFuck⌠you taste good already.â
You bite back a whine. The sight of him tasting you like that sends a pulse of arousal through you, and you clench around nothing, hips canting upward involuntarily.
âPlease,â you hear yourself whisper. Itâs half an entreaty, half a demand.
Namgyu flashes you a grin, almost feral in the low light. âTold you, just had to ask nicely.â And with that, he ducks his head and finally, finally puts his mouth on you.
The first swipe of his tongue through your folds has you moaning outright. Itâs a slow, deliberate lick, from your entrance up to your clit, where he circles teasingly before doing it all over again. Your hand flies to your mouth, almost embarrassed at the sounds trying to escape you. The other grips the back of the couch above your head, bracing yourself as your body jolts with electricity at each lap of his tongue.
If he was smug before, heâs downright energized now. âThatâs it,â he murmurs against you, the vibration of his voice against your sensitive flesh making you gasp. âAlready making such pretty noises. And Iâve barely started.â
âDonâtâahâdonât get cocky,â you manage to pant, though it loses effect since itâs punctuated by a whimper when he sucks lightly on your clit. Your vision sparks. Pleasure bolts through you, and you instinctively clamp your thighs around his head.
Namgyu just chuckles, prying them back apart with firm hands. âNuh-uh, keep these open. Iâm not done with you.â
He latches his mouth around your clit and begins to suck in earnest, flicking his tongue over the swollen nub in rapid strokes. The world drops out from under you. You cry out, both hands flying to his head this time, fingers tangling in his hair and holding on for dear life.
âFuck! Namgyuââ you gasp. Itâs half curse, half plea. Your hips move of their own accord, grinding up against his face as he works you with a precision that leaves you reeling. He alternates between sucking and licking, occasionally dipping his tongue down to tease at your entrance, then back up to torment your clit again until youâre a writhing mess.
Pleasure coils tight in your belly, an insistent, molten heat growing with each passing second. You canât believe how fast heâs unraveling you, how your body responds to every flick of his tongue as if heâs played this instrument a thousand times.
Maybe he has, just not with you. The thought of all those other girls, faceless in his past, usually would provoke jealousy or disgust. But right now, youâre almost grateful heâs had practice, because heâs playing you like a maestro, and youâre hurtling towards a crescendo at breakneck speed.
âOh god,â you choke out. One of your hands claws at the cushion, the other gripping his hair almost painfully, but he only groans as if he likes it. The sound vibrates through your core, sending you closer to the edge.
Heat is surging inside you, muscles tensing. Your breaths come in short, ragged pants. Itâs never been like this, so overwhelming, so all-consuming. Your exâs fumbling attempts to get you off were like weak tremors compared to this earthquake building inside you.
Namgyu slides one hand up to intertwine with yours where you clutch the cushion, pinning it above your head. With his other, he teases your entrance with his index finger, circling lightly. âYouâre so wet,â he mutters, almost to himself. âThink you can take a finger?â
You nod frantically, not trusting your voice. Actually, you could probably take more than one given how aroused you are, but one is a fine start.
He eases a finger into you, slowly, watching your face for any discomfort. All you feel is relief, the fullness a welcome addition to the relentless stimulation of his mouth. You moan, loud and unabashed now, as he pumps the finger in and out a few times before adding a second without even needing to ask. Youâre more than ready.
The stretch is perfect enough to feel it, not enough to hurt. He finds a rhythm, curling his fingers to press against your front wall as he thrusts slowly. The combination of his fingers inside and his mouth on your clit has you hurtling toward that peak so fast itâs almost frightening.
Your legs are trembling on either side of his head. âNamgyuââ you gasp, looking down at him.
His eyes flick up to meet yours, and the heated haze in them pushes you closer to oblivion. He looks thoroughly in his element between your thighs, like he belongs there, and the realization that youâre letting him do this, loving that heâs doing this, sends your mind reeling.
âIâmââ you try to warn him, but coherence fails you as he redoubles his efforts, fingers curling just right inside you to hit a spot that makes you see stars, tongue flicking faster over your clit.
Itâs too much. You shatter with a cry, your climax crashing over you in a white-hot wave. Your thighs clamp around his head despite his earlier admonition, and you feel him groan against you in response, but he doesnât let up. He carries you through it, lapping at you as you spasm and arch off the couch. Your hand in his hair tightens, likely painfully, but he doesnât stop until youâre whimpering and pushing at his head, the overstimulation turning sharp.
He relents then, gently removing his fingers and placing a soft kiss on your inner thigh as your body continues to quake. You can hardly breathe, much less form a sentence. An intense flush covers you from face to chest, your skin damp with sweat. Youâre pretty sure you just saw heaven for a second there.
Namgyu sits back on his heels, wiping the glistening wetness from his chin with the back of his hand. He looks incredibly self-satisfied, the bastard. But you canât even summon the will to knock that smug grin off his face because youâre still floating.
When you finally manage to catch your breath, you croak out, âHoly shitâŚâ
He laughs, low and pleased. âIâll take that as a compliment.â
You manage a weak glare that probably looks more like awed gratitude than irritation. âDonâtâdonât you dare say âI told you so.ââ
He smirks. âWouldnât dream of it.â Then, to your surprise, he leans down and plants a soft kiss on your mound, almost⌠sweetly. Your heart skips at the gentleness of it. Maybe heâs more affected by this than heâs letting on.
Youâre more affected by him than youâd like to admit. Because as the haze of climax slowly clears, the reality sets in. You just came harder than ever in your life from Namgyuâs mouth. And now heâs looking up at you, hair disheveled from your fingers, lips swollen and glistening with your arousal, and heâs⌠beautiful. Ruggedly, sinfully beautiful. The thought shakes you.
He moves to stand, and in a daze, you sit up, legs still feeling like jelly. Your dress is still bunched around your waist, breasts exposed, and you start to pull it back up, suddenly self-conscious. But Namgyu stops you with a hand on your knee.
âDonât,â he murmurs, eyes dark. âIâm not done looking at you.â
The way he says it sends a flicker of renewed arousal through you. You should be spent, utterly satisfied. And you are, in one sense. But seeing the bulge straining against his jeans, knowing heâs hard and aching and that you can do something about it, stirs your own hunger back to life.
Heâs done this incredible thing for you, no one can say Namgyu doesnât give as good as he boasts. And now, surprisingly, you want to return the favor. Not out of obligation, but because the idea of making him unravel like you just did is suddenly very, very appealing.
Maybe itâs also because a part of you still wants to wipe that cocky grin off his face, and what better way than to have him at your mercy for a change?
You reach for him, fingers hooking into the waistband of his jeans. He raises an eyebrow as you tug him closer. âYour turn,â you say, voice still a bit shaky but gaining strength with each word.
Namgyu blinks. âWhat, you gonna suck my dick out of gratitude?â His tone is teasing, but thereâs a flicker of genuine surprise and desire in his eyes.
You flush. âGratitude? No. Consider it⌠payback.â You force a smirk. âUnless youâre all talk and no stamina?â
He laughs, a genuine warm sound that rumbles through his chest. âOh, Iâll show you stamina.â
But as he starts to undo his belt, you stop him, batting his hands away. âI got it.â
He lets you, curious, as you rise onto unsteady knees on the couch and push his leather jacket off his shoulders. He shrugs out of it and tosses it aside, then grabs the back of his t-shirt and yanks it off in one fluid motion, clearly eager to shed clothes. You drink in the sight revealed: lean muscle, a scatter of tattoos across his chest and arms and a few old scars. His skin is warm and smooth except for the roughness of scars and ink.
You realize youâre outright staring when he smirks. âLike what you see?â
You snap back, âShut up,â but it lacks bite because, yeah, you do like it. Too much. You place your hands on his bare chest, intent on pushing him to sit on the couch so you can straddle him or kneel or something, but heâs not easily guided.
Instead, Namgyu grabs your hips and flips positions with you, sinking onto the couch and pulling you into his lap in one swift move. You gasp, hands landing on his shoulders for balance. Your bare core is pressed against the rough fabric of his jeans and the hard bulge beneath, and even though your nerve endings are a bit sensitive from your orgasm, the friction makes you suck in a breath.
He groans softly, hands sliding up your thighs under your bunched dress. âFuck, youâre so wet⌠gonna ruin my jeans,â he mutters appreciatively.
âThen take them off,â you counter.
His eyes flash with heat. âAs you wish.â
You help, fingers fumbling only slightly as you undo his belt and pop the button on his jeans. The zipper is next, and as you pull it down, his erection strains against black boxer briefs, the tip already gleaming with a damp spot of pre-cum.
You feel a fresh wave of arousal at the sight and the realization: he got that worked up just from going down on you. The power in that is heady. You reach into the waistband of his briefs and wrap your hand around him, freeing his cock from its confines. He hisses as the cool air hits it.
Holy hell. Heâs big. Not in a way that seems impossible, but definitely enough to command attention. Long, with a slight curve, and girthier than you expected. Your mouth goes a bit dry, not with fear, but anticipation. A flicker of nerves, sure But mostly excitement at the challenge.
Namgyu watches you pump him slowly, eyes hooded. His chest rises and falls faster now. âEnjoying yourself?â he quips, but it comes out in a strained rasp.
You smile sweetly. âActually, yeah.â And to emphasize, you swirl your thumb over the slick head of his cock, spreading the pre-cum around. He inhales sharply, hips twitching.
âTwo can play that game,â he breathes, and suddenly he sits up and captures one of your still-bared breasts in his mouth again, teeth scraping your sensitive nipple unexpectedly. You cry out, pleasure laced with a bit of overstimulation pain, and arch against him. He soothes it with his tongue, then pulls back with a self-satisfied look.
âYou distract me, I distract you,â he says smugly.
  Your eyes narrow playfully. âFine.â
You slide off his lap to the floor, kneeling between his spread legs. The position reversal from earlier is not lost on either of you. He looks genuinely stunned for a second, maybe not having expected you to go this far. But he recovers with a grin.
âIf you wanted to get on your knees for me, all you had to do was ask,â he taunts.
âYou talk way too much,â you mutter.
âMake me shut up, then,â he challenges.
So you do. By wrapping your hand around the base of his cock and leaning forward to take the tip into your mouth. That shuts him up real fast.
âAh, fuckââ he curses, head tipping back as you swirl your tongue around the head, tasting the salt of him. His hand flies to your head, fingers tangling in your hair, not pushing, just holding, as if to convince himself this is real.
Encouraged by his reaction, you take him deeper, sliding your lips down his shaft as far as you can comfortably go. Heâs thick, stretching your mouth wide, and you hollow your cheeks, sucking hard as you pull back.
âJesus, (Y/N)âŚâ he groans. The sound of your name in that ragged tone sends a thrill through you. Usually he calls you princess or just hurls insults, but the way he says your actual name now, like a prayer or a curse, spurs you on.
You begin a steady rhythm, bobbing your head, taking him a little deeper each time until the tip nudges the back of your throat and you have to ease up. Your hand works in tandem, stroking what your mouth canât reach, and you use your other hand to gently cup his balls. He curses again, a litany of âshit, fuck, yeahâ spilling from his lips.
Namgyu is not quiet, he lets you know exactly how good it feels with those filthy words and deep, throaty groans that only make you wetter. He tries to watch you, propping himself on an elbow to gaze down, but one particularly hard suck makes his eyes roll back and he collapses against the couch with a strangled moan.
The taste of him and the musky scent envelops your senses. You never particularly enjoyed giving head with your ex. It always felt like a chore because he never reciprocated. But this⌠this feels powerful. Youâre driving Namgyu absolutely wild. Him, who always acted like nothing fazed him.
You hum around his length, and he actually whimpers, his grip on your hair tightening. âFuck, baby, you keep doing thatââ He cuts himself off, chest heaving.
The pet name slips out and surprises both of you. You feel his thigh muscles tense under your hand as if heâs bracing for you to tease him about it.
Instead, you double down, sucking even harder and then releasing him with a lewd pop to catch your breath, pumping him with your fist. âKeep talking like that and I might think you like me or something,â you tease breathlessly, licking a stripe up the underside of his cock.
Namgyu lets out a breathy chuckle, lifting his head to meet your eyes. âDonât get it twisted,â he pants, though his hand is petting your hair almost affectionately now. âI just really, really like your mouth.â
âTo think earlier you said I talked too much,â you quip, then lick around his head again, focusing on that sensitive spot just under the crown.
He swears, hips bucking a little. âShitâ okay, fine, shutting up.â
You smile, victorious, and take him back in, bobbing faster now. His breathing grows ragged, and you can tell heâs getting close. His thighs tremble on either side of you.
â(Y/N)⌠Iâm gonnaâŚâ He grits out, a warning.
You should pull back and finish him with your hand, or ask where he wants to come. But a streak of recklessness, or perhaps generosity, makes you want to take it all the way, consequences be damned. You want to taste him, to swallow his cockiness literally and figuratively.
So you donât slow. You keep going, slurping and sucking, pumping the base with a twist of your wrist the way some instinct tells you heâll like.
With a hoarse shout, Namgyu comes undone. He spills hot and salty into your mouth in spurts, and you do your best to swallow quickly, but some still trickles past your lips. You keep milking him until heâs empty, his body shuddering with aftershocks, a string of curses and your name tumbling from his lips.
Finally, you release him, wiping the back of your hand across your mouth, catching the bit that escaped. Namgyu is panting, head thrown back, one arm over his face. He looks thoroughly debauched and utterly spent.
Pride swells in your chest. You did that. Little Miss Uptight made the king of sleaze fall apart.
As the high of the moment begins to settle, an uncertain quiet envelops the room. You slowly rise from your knees, your own legs screaming from the position, and sit on the couch next to him. Youâre hyper-aware of your disheveled state. Dress still down around your waist, breasts out, hair a mess, lips swollen. Heâs not any better. Jeans open, shirt off, chest glistening with sweat.
Your mind races to process the sheer insanity of what just happened. A half hour ago, you were at each otherâs throats. And nowâŚ
Namgyu is the first to break the silence. He lifts his arm from his face, turning to look at you with an expression you canât quite read. Sated, yes, but thereâs something softer, almost perplexed in his eyes.
âThat,â he says slowly, voice rough from groaning, âwasâŚâ
You tense, wondering if heâs about to ruin it by saying something cruel or crass.
ââŚfucking amazing,â he finishes with a faint, almost incredulous laugh.
You let out a breath you didnât realize you were holding, then manage a smirk. âYeah, it was alright.â
He barks a laugh at your nonchalance. âAlright, she says. The way you were moaning, Iâd say it was a bit better than alright.â
Now that the deed is done, your reflexive banter returns to cover up the weird vulnerability creeping in. âDonât flatter yourself. I was thinking of someone else the whole time.â
He grins, rolling his head to face you fully. âLiar.â His hand comes up, and for a second you think he might touch your face. But he hesitates, then smirks and flicks your exposed nipple instead. âAnd cover up. Not that I mind the view, but youâll catch cold or some shit.â
You swat his hand away, cheeks heating, and quickly pull your bra and dress back up over your chest. âEver the gentleman,â you quip.
He zips up his jeans, not bothering with the belt yet. An awkward beat passes as you both adjust yourselves, reality slowly seeping back in. The air smells of sex and sweat and weed, a pungent reminder of what happened.
Your mind starts to chase implications: what now? Do you just⌠go home? Do you say thank you? God, that would be weird. This was transactional in a sense, but also not. It felt⌠personal, in ways youâre not prepared to face yet.
Namgyu clears his throat, seeming to sense your sudden tension. âSo,â he drawls, attempting nonchalance, âthis definitely beats going to the club, huh?â
A startled laugh escapes you. âYeah,â you admit, âthe club would have to be pretty damn special to top this.â
He flashes a lazy grin. âI mean, we could probably charge people to watch next time. Might make more than I do dealing in a night.â
You roll your eyes, but canât help a small smile. âIn your dreams, Namgyu.â
He waggles his eyebrows. âCould be fun. But fine, Iâll keep this private show just for me.â
The implication that there might be a next time hangs in the air. You should shut that down. This was a one-time lapse in judgment, right? Brought on by weed and weird circumstances. Tomorrow, youâll both go back to hating each other. Thatâs the safe assumption.
Yet, a treacherous part of you isnât entirely sure you want it to be a one-time thing. Not after discovering what lies beneath all that bickering, a chemistry so intense it scorched you both.
You stand up on slightly unsteady legs, smoothing your dress and searching for your discarded panties. You spot them half under the coffee table and bend to pick them up, wincing at the slight ache between your thighs. Namgyu definitely did a number on you.
As you step into your underwear and right yourself, Namgyu has also stood, pulling on his t-shirt again. You catch each otherâs eyes and then quickly look away, both of you seemingly unsure how to navigate this new terrain.
The awkwardness is starting to creep in. You hate it. After everything, returning to being strangers enemies feels wrong. But youâre not about to get all sappy and ask him what this means or any of that nonsense. Instead, you latch onto practical matters.
âYou still gonna drive me home?â you ask, your tone a bit more snappy than intended. Defense mechanism, fully engaged.
He runs a hand through his mussed hair, giving you a sideways look. âYeah⌠of course.â
He grabs his jacket and keys from where they ended up, while you retrieve your purse and phone which somehow got knocked to the floor in the fray.
As you slip on your heels that youâd kicked off at some point, you become hyper-aware of the silence. A million thoughts swirl in your head. What will it be like tomorrow? Next week? Can you really act like nothing happened? Do you want to?
Should you say something? Like, set a rule or
Before you can decide, Namgyu speaks up, his tone oddly serious. âHey.â He steps closer, standing in front of you. You clutch your purse strap, steeling yourself and meeting his gaze.
He actually looks a bit nervous, which is a new look on him. âAbout⌠all this,â he begins, gesturing vaguely at the couch and you. âWeâre cool, right?â
Itâs almost endearing, how unsure he sounds. You realize he might be worried youâre going to freak out or regret it and make things weird for Subong or something.
You force what you hope is a reassuring smirk. âAs cool as we ever were.â
He gives a small huff of laughter. âNot saying much. But yeah.â He scratches the back of his neck, an unusual bashfulness creeping in. âI mean⌠we donât have to tell him. Obviously.â
âOh god, no,â you say quickly, mortified at the very thought. âWe take this to our graves.â
âGood,â Namgyu says, though something in his face twitches. Disappointment? You canât tell. He recovers with a cocky grin. âThough if he ever found out, at least heâd know his sister isnât as uptight as she acts.â
You swat his arm, but lightly. âShut up.â
He laughs and heads to the door, pulling it open and gesturing for you to go ahead. âAfter you.â
Well, at least heâs not a total asshole post fucking, you think dryly. You step out into the hallway, the cool air a stark contrast to the heat inside that apartment. As you pass him, you feel his hand lightly brush your lower back in a way thatâs oddly protective, but it could have been accidental.
The walk down to his car is quiet. Your body feels heavy, sated, a pleasant hum in your veins. Namgyu unlocks his beat-up car with a click, and you slide into the passenger seat. He gets in the driverâs side and for a moment, you just sit there. The car smells faintly of him, plus a bit of weed. You wonder if the scent of sex clings to you both.
When he starts the engine, a music track comes on. Some EDM thing with a driving bass. He quickly turns the volume way down to a background thump. Neither of you seem inclined to blast music right now.
As he pulls out and heads toward your part of town, you find yourself stealing glances at his profile in the passing streetlights. He looks calm, maybe a bit tired. You suddenly recall the way he looked between your legs, concentrated and feral, and you flush, facing forward again.
Say something, you urge yourself. Anything to cut the tension. But small talk feels ridiculous after what youâve done.
In the end, itâs Namgyu who speaks, just as youâre almost halfway. âSo⌠your first time, huh?â
You almost choke. âWhâ excuse me?â
He clarifies, one hand on the wheel, the other draped casually out the open window. âGetting head. That was your first.â
âOh.â You bite your lip. âUh, yeah.â
He glances at you, a hint of a proud smirk on his lips. âGlad I could be of service.â
You manage a huff. âWay to ruin it, jerk.â
He frowns. âThatâs notââ He stops, sighs. âIâm just saying. Iâm glad it was me.â
That admission hangs in the air, far more intimate than the crude talk before. You turn your face to the window, hoping the darkness hides the way your cheeks burn yet again. Thereâs that softness from earlier creeping in, threatening to make this more than just a sleazy hook-up story.
âDonât let it get to your head,â you murmur, trying to keep your tone light. âJust because you gave me an orgasm or two doesnât mean weâre suddenly best friends or something.â
He is quiet for a moment, and you worry youâve offended him. But when you peek over, heâs smirking lightly. âOrgasm or two, huh? So I set a high bar. Whoever comes after meâs got their work cut out.â
Whoever comes after⌠The idea of someone else, someone not him touching you should be a comforting thought because obviously you wonât do this with him again. Youâll eventually meet a nice guy, have normal sex, maybe theyâll be generous lovers too. Thatâs what you want⌠right?
So why does picturing anyone else down there make you feel oddly⌠empty?
âYeah, well,â you say carefully, âmaybe no one will have to try. I might just swear off guys entirely after tonight. Retire at my peak.â
He actually looks almost insulted. âOh, come on. It wasnât that bad.â
You canât help it. You burst out laughing. âYou idiot. I meant the opposite.â
His grin returns. âI know. I just like hearing you say it.â
You shake your head, but a smile tugs your lips. âFine. Congratulations, Namgyu, youâve officially ruined me for other men. Happy?â
He taps the wheel in a little drum fill, clearly pleased. âVery.â
The rest of the drive is mostly quiet, but not painfully so. You both seem lost in thought. Soon, heâs pulling up to your house. Itâs late and the lights are off.
Namgyu parks and stops the engine. You hesitate, hand on the door handle. This might be the weirdest part yet, saying goodbye.
âSoâŚâ you begin awkwardly, turning to him. âThanks for the ride. And⌠uhâŚâ
He raises an eyebrow, a teasing glint in his eyes. âAnd⌠uhâŚ?â
You groan. âDonât make it weird.â
He chuckles. âAlright. I wonât say âit was a pleasureâ then, even though it was.â
You roll your eyes, but youâre smiling. âGood night, Namgyu.â
You push open the door and step out, eager to escape before anything more can be said to muddle your brain.
Just as youâre about to close the door, he calls your name. You lean down, looking at him questioningly through the open car door.
His face is partially in shadow from the streetlight, but you can see heâs serious. âDonât forget⌠still taking this to the grave, yeah?â
  You nod firmly. âAbsolutely.â
He nods back. But you think you catch a flash of something like regret in his eyes before he masks it. Maybe you imagined it.
Without another word, you close the door gently and head up the path to your house. You donât look back, but you hear his car start up and drive off as you reach your door.
Inside, the house is silent. You tiptoe to your room, not bothering with more than kicking off your heels and dropping your purse. You collapse on your bed, every muscle in your body relaxing into the mattress.
The nightâs events replay behind your eyelids. Already, it feels a bit like a dream or something you might have hallucinated. But the aches and tingles in your body are proof it was real.
As you drift off to sleep, one last thought goes through your mind: youâre definitely not telling Subong. But lying here, sated and warm, youâre also definitely not regretting a damn thing.
And that might be the most confusing part of all.
its so awesome that you can straight up write fanfiction in your head to help yourself fall asleep and it doesnt even have to be good or something anyone would ever want to read. even yourself
"This fic is literally just porn, why do you care about the quality of the editing" unfortunately, both my brain and my dick have strong opinions about verb tenses.

You grew up with Nam Gyu like a shadow in the hallway. He was always thereâshoulder to shoulder with your brother, dropping his shoes by the door, raiding the fridge like it was his own. You were the kid in oversized pajamas, trying to blend into the wall just to watch him. Too shy to speak. Too small to matter.
But you remember everything. The way he laughed too loud, cursed too often, smoked behind the shed even when your mom caught him and told him heâd âruin his lungs and your brotherâs future.â You remember the scabs on his knuckles. The choked grin he gave you when he caught you staring. The way heâd ruffle your hair and call you, âlil sis.â
You remember the day he stopped coming. No warning. No goodbye. One week he was there every day, and the next, your brother wouldnât say his name. Your parents said it in hushed voices. âHe got in with the wrong crowd,â your mom murmured. âDrugs. Guns. Heâs not welcome here anymore.â
You never saw himâŚnot until that night.
Youâre in college now. Still living at home. Still doing everything right. Your classes are going well. Your professors say youâre âgifted.â You paint portraits for extra cash, volunteer at the community center when youâre not studying. Youâre a good girl. Your mom tells her friends how proud she is. Your dad gives you curfews like youâre sixteen.
You still have your childhood room. Pink sheets. Sketches taped to the wall. A desk in the corner covered in soft, pretty things. You donât party. You donât sneak around. You donât lie.
Until you do.
Itâs late when your class ends. You stayed behind to finish a painting, left campus with paint on your fingers and your brain still half lost in the shade of someoneâs eyes. You donât even think twice when you pull into the convenience store down the street from your campus. Just want a snack. Something sweet before you drive home.
The bell jingles when you walk in. You head straight for the drinks cooler, tug it open with chilled fingertips. Youâre crouched by the candy shelf when you hear it. That voice. Rough and low and unmistakably familiar.
âThought that was you.â
You freeze. Slowly, you turnâand there he is. Nam Gyu. Standing by the counter like a ghost you summoned. Same hooded eyes, same sharp jaw, same dead-serious stare. Only now heâs older. Taller. Built like a man. Thereâs a scar above his eyebrow. Tattoos you donât remember. A cigarette tucked behind one ear.
He looks you up and down, slow. Unapologetic. You feel heat crawl down your neck. âYou got taller,â he says. Then a smirk, âFinally.â
You open your mouth. Nothing comes out. He steps closer. Not enough to touchâbut enough to make your chest tighten. You donât know what to say. He looks like a warning sign. A mistake your parents would lose their minds over. But your heart is pounding like heâs the best thing thatâs ever happened to you.
âStill got that same look on your face,â he murmurs.
âWhat look?â you manage, too quiet.
He tilts his head, eyes dark. âLike youâre about to beg me for something.â Your stomach flips. And just like that, your perfect little world starts to crack.
After that night at the convenience store, you told yourself it was nothing. A coincidence. A strange little flicker in your perfect routine. You didnât give him your number. You didnât ask to see him again. But then he showed up.
Outside the art building. Leaning on a low wall while you packed up your paints. He didnât say much, just took a long drag from his vape before blowing the strawberry scented smoke in your face. âJust thought Iâd say hi,â he said with a shrug, like he didnât already know your schedule.
Then he was waiting again a few days later. A different building. Same smirk. âYou always walk to your car alone?â You told yourself it was harmless. You told yourself you were being careful.
It kept happening. Youâd go to the cafe and find him there, nursing a coffee like he belonged. Youâd leave a gallery show and see his motorcycle parked across the street. You never invited him. But you stopped telling him to go.
Sometimes heâd offer you rides. Just to be nice, he said. Other times he justâŚlingered. Leaning against your passenger door, watching you with those tired, heavy lidded eyes. Always in that same hoodie. Always looking like he hadnât slept in weeks.
You told yourself you werenât flirting. You were just being polite. But your body always got warm when he was near. Your voice always went soft. You didnât tell your parents. You didnât tell your brother. You just let it happen.
It wasnât one big momentâit was a hundred little ones. A ride home that ended with him brushing your hair behind your ear. A compliment muttered under his breath that made your stomach twist. A lingering look when you leaned over the console, digging through your bag for gum.
One night, it was late. Youâd been driving around for no reason. He was smoking, windows cracked. Your legs were curled up under you in the passenger seat. And he said, quiet, âYou always this good, huh?â
You blinked. âGood?â
He nodded once. âDonât party. Donât lie. Donât fuck around.â
You felt that sentence in your spine.
A Few Weeks LaterâŚ
Youâre fucking him now.
On weekends. After class. In his car, in his bed, once in the bathroom at a shitty bar while music thumped outside. Youâre kissing him like you need it to breathe. Letting him spit in your mouth when he says, âGood girls donât take it like that.â
Heâs your secret. Your filthy little addiction.
He picks you up in his car after lectures. Has you ride with your skirt pushed up, panties in his glove box. He buys you drinks with his hand on your thigh under the table. Fucks you dumb and raw and makes you smile at your parents like nothing happened.
You keep him off your social media. Tell your friends heâs just someone from school. Tell your brother nothing.
You lie to everyone. But not to yourself. You like the way he bites your shoulder. You like the way he growls, âMine,â when you try to leave. You like the way he looks at you like heâd kill for you.
And that terrifies you. Because if your brother knewâif your parents knewâyouâd lose everything. And if Nam Gyu ever stops showing up again, youâre not sure youâll survive it this time.
Your parents left that morning for a weekend tripâanniversary, something fancy. They hugged you, kissed your forehead, reminded you not to let anyone over. You smiled. Promised. Said youâd be panting all weekend.
And now? Youâre on your knees in front of Nam Gyu while your favorite candle flickers on your desk. His pants are halfway down his thighs. Your lips are glossy with spit. Heâs got his thumb hooked into the corner of your mouth, dragging it down so you can watch your tongue roll over the head of his cock like he owns it.
âGod, baby,â he breathes, hand in your hair, rough and praising. âYour mouthâs the fuckinâ prettiest thing in this house.â
You whimper. He grins. The bedroom still looks like it did when you were sixteen. Pink bed sheets. Fairy lights. Your easel in the corner. Drawings on the wall.
Nam Gyu leans back against your pills like he belongs here. âFuck,â he mutters, âYouâd cry if your mom saw you like this, huh?â
You moan around him, cheeks flushed. He grips your jaw, pulls you off slow so strings of spit stretch between your ips and his tip. âOpen,â he says. You do.
He smirks, just about to say something elseâwhen the doorbell rings. You freeze. Both of you go still. Nam Gyu blinks, then frowns. âThe fuck is that?â
You grab your phone. A text is already lighting up the screen.
Brotherđž: you home? came to drop something by
Your heart drops into your stomach. âFuckâfuck, fuck fuck,â you scramble up off the floor, panic blooming your chest. âItâs my brother. Heâs here.â
Nam Gyuâs face goes flat. âI thought he didnât live here anymore.â
âHe doesnât! He justâhe visits, I donât know, pleaseââ youâre already pulling him up by the wrist, shoving at his chest. âHide.â
âHide where?â he hisses. You point to the bed. He gives you the dirtiest look. âYou want me to crawl under your fucking bedââ
But youâre already halfway to the door. âIâm stalling himâjust do it!â
He curses under his breathâbut drops to the floor and disappears under the frame, just as you yank the door open.
âHey!â you say, breathless. Too cheerful.
Your brother raises an eyebrow. âWhy are you out of breath?â
âUhâyoga. You know. Stretching.â
âYou donât do yoga.â
You laugh. âI do now!â He narrows his eyes. âI, um,â you step aside, heart pounding, âcome in. You said you brought something?â
He holds up a brown bag. âMom forgot her vitamin thing. Figured Iâd drop it off.â
You lead him into your room. Your knees are shaking. He takes one step inside. Looks around. Frowns. âWhyâs it smell like cologne in here?â
You blink. Your skin goes cold. âIâlit a candle,â you lie quickly. âItâs likeâŚcedarwood or something. Manly. Grounding.â
He doesnât look convinced. Takes another step inside. You can feel Nam Gyu under the bed. You donât dare peek. You can barely breathe.Â
Your brother sighs and drops the bag on your desk. âStill weird being in here. Place hasnât changed since we were kids.â
You give a weak laugh. âYeahâŚnostalgic.â
Then he crouched to pick something off the floorâright by the bedâand your stomach caves in. But itâs just a pencil. He straightens up. Smiles at you. âYou good though? You been okay lately?â
Your throat tightens, but you nod. âYeah. JustâŚbusy.â
âTell Mom and Dad I dropped by.â
âI will.â He leans over and ruffles your hair like youâre still twelve. Then he leaves. You donât move until the front door clicks shut.
A long moment of silence. You hear his car start. And thenâ âAre you fucking kidding meââ Nam Gyuâs voice, low and furious, as he drags himself out from under the bed. His hoodie is dusty, hair messed up. âYou made me hide like a goddamn teenagerââ
You throw yourself at him before he can even finish. âIâm sorryâI panickedââ His mouth crashes down on yours, fast and rough, and his hands are already shoving you toward the bed.
âYou owe me for that shit,â he growls into your mouth. âYou fuckinâ owe me.â
You nod, breathless, pulling at your clothes. He flips you onto your stomach. âNo lights. No moaning. Be a good little liar and keep quiet for me.â You bury your face in the pillow and prepare to let him ruin you.
Your face hits the pillow as Nam Gyu shoves you forward, hand planted firmly between your shoulder blades.Â
âGimme that fucking ass,â he growls behind you, voice dark and low with adrenaline. You can feel the floor dust on his jeansâfeel how hard he is through the fabric. âGot me hiding under your bed like some fucking side piece.â
âIâm sorry,â you breathe, cheek pressed into the sheets.
âYouâre sorry?â he laughsâsharp, mean. âYou let me suck your tits with a stuffed bear watching and youâre sorry?â
His fingers hook into the waistband of your shorts, yanking them down hard. He pauses. âYou werenât even wearing panties when you let me in.â
Your breath stutters. âIââ
He slaps your ass. Hard. âFucking knew it.â You cry out into the pillow, but he grabs a fistful of your hair and yanks your head back. âShhh,â he coos mockingly. âWhat would your brother think if he heard you like this? Bent over your bed. Wet as fuck. For the guy he used to call family.â
He lets your hair go and spits down between your thighs. One hand spreads you openâno teasing, no warningâand then his fingers are inside you, two thick and fast, curling up deep. âGoddamn,â he breathes. âStill so tight. You been keeping this little pussy just for me.â
You nod frantically, dropping into your pillow.
âI didnât hear you.â
âYesâyes, I haveâjust youââ
âGood fucking girl.â He pulls his fingers out and slaps your cunt with them, soaked and loud. Then you feel itâhis cock, hot and heavy, dragging through your slick. He nudges the head against your entrance, just enough to make you clench. âYou wanna get filled like a dirty little secret?â
âYesââ
âYou gonna keep lying to Mommy and Daddy about where you go at night?â
âYesââ He pushes in deep. Your back arches, mouth open in a silence cry. He doesnât stop. Doesnât let you breathe. Just ruts into you hard and fast, his hips slapping against your ass, skin on skin loud in the silence.
His hand clamps over your mouth. âDonât you dare making a fucking sound,â he hisses. âYou want them finding out youâre a whore now? Wanna explain to your brother how I stretch you out and fuck you dumb?â
You whimper under his palm. Your legs shake. He shifts his grip to your throat, pulling your upper body back against his chest. One hand choking you, the other slipping between your legs.
âYou feel that?â he grits, rubbing your clit fast. âThatâs me. Thatâs all me. Every inch of this sweet little cuntâs mine.â
Youâre spiraling. Coming so hard your body jerks in his hold. He fucks you thorugh itâgrowling, mean, filthy.
âFucking squeeze me like that again and Iâll make you suck me clean after.â You sob. He bites your shoulder. Sucks a mark into your skin so deep youâll see it for days. âTell me who you belong to.â
âYouâfuckâyouââ
âThatâs right.â
When Nam Gyu finally cums, itâs with a loud grunt, buried deep, your name spilling from his mouth like a threat and a prayer. He stays inside you for a secondâhands still on your hips, breath heavy against your ear.Â
Then he pulls out slow, the slick sound obscene. You collapse on the bed, boneless, face flushed and eyes glassy. He watches you. Watches his cum drip out of you onto your cute pink sheets. Watches your thighs tremble. Then he leans down, kisses your lower back, and mutters: âBet your brother wouldnât believe a sweet girl like you could take dick like that.â
Youâre still facedown on your bed. Cheek pressed to the sheets. Legs sprawled. Your breathing is uneven and your thighs are trembling. For a second, neither of you move.
Nam gyu just stands there, his jeans still half down, eyes fixed on the mess he made. Your pussy, swollen and leaking. His cum on your thighs. Your back rising and falling like you just ran a mile. âYou okay?â he asks finally, quietly.
You nod, a little dazed. âMmhm.â
He exhalesâthen zips himself up and pads toward your door, bare feet creaking on the old floorboards. âDonât move,â he calls over his shoulder. âIâll clean you up.â
A minute later, heâs backâwith a warm washcloth from the hall bathroom. His voice is different now, lower. Soothed. He kneels between your legs. The cloth is warm when it touches you. Gentle and careful.Â
You twitch. âEasy,â he murmurs, one hand on your thigh. âI got you.â
He wipes you cleanâslow circles, gentle dabs. No teasing. No filth. Just care. You feel him swipe the cloth through the mess between your legs, wiping up his cum, then toss it to the side. âI was too rough,â he says after a moment. Guilt peeking through.
You peek over your shoulder, cheek squished to the pillow. âI liked it.â
He huffs a breathâsmiles, barelyâand leans over to kiss your lower back. Soft. A little reverent. Then again. Higher this time. Between your shoulder blades.
You feel his hands under your arms, pulling you up slow, and before you can even fully sit, sheâs scooping you into his lap like youâre his. His girl. His baby âCâmon,â he mumbles into your hair. âShower.â
He carries you to the bathroom room, flicks the light on low. The old shower rattles a little as it starts up. You sit on the counter while he grabs your towel and favorite body wash. He kisses your knees while he waits for the water to heat.
And when youâre both finally inside, under the spray, he washes you like youâre something breakable. Soapy hands across your shoulders. Your back. Down your arms. His fingers slow on your belly, gentle between your legs. No filth now. Just love.
He lets you wear his hoodie after, even though itâs warm outside. And later, curled up in your bed with his arm under your head and his hoodie draped over your bare legs, he holds you so close you can feel his heartbeat in your spine.
âI missed you,â you whisper.
âI never left,â he murmurs. âYou just stopped looking.â
The windowâs cracked. The summer air slips in slow, thick and sweet, brushing over your skin. Crickets hum somewhere outside. Your childhood neighborhood, still the sameâstill safe. Still small.
Nam Gyuâs hoodie hangs loose on your body, sleeves bunched at your wrists. Your legs are bare beneath the covers, curled into his. His chest is warm against your back, arm heavy around your waist, holding you like he doesnât even know heâs doing it.
He takes another drag from his vape. The quiet click of it echoes in the stillness, then a curl of strawberry vapor drifts out the open window. âBabe,â he mumbles sleepily against your shoulder. âIâm gonna get you addicted to this shit.â
You smile faintly. âNo, youâre not.â
âYou already like it.â
âI like you.â
He huffs a breath. Doesnât say anything for a second. Just lets it hang there. Youâre quiet for a while. Long enough for your heart to settle, long enough that you think maybe heâs fallen asleep.
But then, you ask, âWhyâd you stop coming around?â Itâs soft, gentle. But it slices through the silence like a blade.
Heâs quiet for a long time. You donât push. You just wait. Eventually, he shifts behind youâpulls the covers tighter around the both of you. His vape clicks again. Then he exhales slowly, and says, âYour brother told me to.â
Your eyebrows furrow. âWhat?â
Nam Gyu lets the words come slow. âIt was right after that one summer,â he explains. âThe one where I started skipping school. Showing up with bruises and black eyes and shit.â He pauses. âYour parents got worried. Thought I was a bad influence. He didnât disagree.â
Your heart twists. âHe told me if I gave a fuck about you,â Nam Gyu says, no emotion in his voice. âIâd stay away. Said you didnât need some punk with a death wish hanging around the house anymore.â
You roll over to face him. He doesnât look at you. Just stares up at the ceiling, eyes half lidded, fingers tugging at a loose thread in your blanket. âI didnât want to scare you,â he mutters. âDidnât want you to see what I turned into.â
âYou didnât scare me,â you whisper.
âI do now.â You shake your head. He finally looks at you. His eyes are darker than usual. Not angry. Just hurt. Heavy.
âYou were so fucking little,â he mutters, almos to himself. âUsed to sit in the grass and draw with sidewalk chalk. Couldnât even look me in the eyes without blushing.â Your throat tightens.
âAnd then I got kicked out of school. Started running shit with guys who wouldnât think twice about putting a bullet in someoneâs back. Stopped being your brotherâs friend and started being a problem.â He holds his vape up to his lips but doesnât hit. âYou shouldn't even want me in this bed.â
âBut I do.â He looks at you. Really looks. And then he tucks your hair behind your ear. Leans forward, slow, like it hurts him, and presses the gentlest kiss to your forehead. âI know.â
Heâs still watching you. Eyes darker now. Not with lustâbut with something heavier. Something that makes your chest ache. His hand slides under the hem of your hoodieâbarely there, just resting on the small of your back. Thenâ âGet up here,â he murmurs. You stare up at him in confusion. He taps your thigh gently. âCâmere.â
You hesitate for half a second before shifting forward, crawling up his chest until your body lies flush against hisâchest to chest, cheek nestled into the dip between his collarbones. You feel his hand curve around your thigh to help you settle, the other resting flat between your shoulder blades.
His warmth sinks into you instantly. âSee?â he mumbles into your hair. âBetter.âÂ
You hum in agreement, eyes slipping closed. You feel his fingers tracing lazy circles on your back. One slow, endless loop at a time. It makes your whole body feel like itâs floating.
âI used to think about this,â he says softly, after a long pause. âBack when I stopped coming around. Used to imagine what itâd be likeâŚif I had got to see you one more time. If I got to lay with you in my arms.â
You donât say anything, just tuck your face deeper into his neck, like maybe if you hold him tighter, he wonât disappear again. His breath slows. He keeps talkingâquieter now, barely audible. âDidnât think Iâd ever get to touch you again. Let alone have you fall asleep on top of me like this.â
Your heart thuds hard against your ribcage. And then his arms tightenâjust slightly. Not possessive, or horny, not even jealous. Just holding. Just having. âSleep, baby,â he whispers. âIâm not going anywhere.â
You try to fight it. But your limbs go heavy. Your breathing softens. And eventually you drift off like thatâclinging to him. The only boy who ever made you feel both ruined and safe.
And when you woke up the next morning, he was gone. Not in a left you forever way. Just gone-gone. A scribbled note on your desk: had to run. be back later. lock the doorâgyu
You had class anyway. You showered, threw on your usual outfitâsomething cozy, something simpleâand tried not to spend the whole lecture replaying the feel of his hand gripping your hip while you moaned into his throat. When you get out of class, thereâs a text waiting for you.
When you get out of class, thereâs a text waiting for you.
bby boiđ§¸: party tonight
bby boiđ§¸: come
You pause. Youâre not a party girl. Youâre a homework and chamomile tea and skincare before bed kind of girl. But still, your heart skips.
You send back: youâll be there??
His response is instant.
bby boiđ§¸: obviously
bby boiđ§¸: iâll pick u up
You try on four different outfits before settling on a soft cream sweater and black leggings. Cute socks. Clean sneakers. A spritz of perfume behind your ears and a hint of gloss on your lips.
You hear his car outside. You grab your bag, check yourself in the mirror one more time, then head out. When you slide into the passenger seat, Nam Gyu looks you up and downâblinks once, then frowns. âWhy are you dressed like that?â
Your stomach twists and you freeze up. âWhat?â
He doesnât mean it mean. He just gestures vaguely. âAll girly.â
You bite your lip. Look down at your outfit. âI thought it was cute.â
He huffs a laugh through his nose. And thenâyou swear itâhis eyes soften. âIt is.â And then he drives.
The house party is loud. Music shaking the walls. People crowding the front lawn. The air smells like weed and stale beer and cheap perfume.
The second you step inside, it hits you all at onceâflashing lights, bodies packed shoulder to shoulder, girls dancing on tables, guys with bottles in their fists. Someone yells something unintelligible across the kitchen.
You flinch. Nam Gyu doesnât. He fits in here. Like he was made for it. The tattoos, the lazy confidence, the way his hand wraps around your wrist without thinking as he guides you through the crush of people.
He starts talking to a friend. Someone taller, louder. They laugh, talk about something you canât follow. A blunt gets passed. A girl slaps Nam Gyuâs arm playfully. You stay quiet. Pressed against his side. A pretty little shadow in a soft sweater, wide eyed and quiet. He doesnât let go of your hand, but he doesnât look at you, either.
You can feel the stares. From girls. From guys. You donât belong here and you know it. But you want to. Because heâs here. And you want to be where he is. Even if it means swallowing the knot in your throat and trying not to look like youâre trembling.
Youâre still glued to his side, barely saying a word, when he finally turns to look at you. You donât know what gives it away. Maybe the way your hand keeps fidgeting with the hem of your sleeve. Maybe the way you flinch every time someone brushes past too close. Maybe itâs how you havenât laughed once tonightânot even a fake little chuckle to make him feel good.
He leans down toward your ear, voice low. âCome with me.â
You nod immediately, clinging to his sleeve as he guides you out of the kitchen. Up a hallway, past a line for the bathroom, through a cracked open door into some random bedroom.
The second the door clicks shut behind you, the noise softens. You can breathe again. Nam Gyu turns to face you. Eyes sharp but not unkind. âYou wanna leave?â he asks, arms folding as he leans against the dresser.
Your eyes widen. âNo.â Youâre too quick to answer. Too eager.
His brow arches. âNo?â
âIââ you swallow. âI wanna stay. I justâŚâ
His head tilts. âYou just?â
âI wanna stay with you.â
That get a smile. Slow, crooked, dangerous. âYouâre not exactly blending in, baby.â
You blush. You look down at your shoes. âI know. Iâm not reallyâŚâ You trail off, unsure how to say it. Not cool. Not edgy. Not the kind of girl who smokes and dances on tables and makes guys stare.
He pushes off the dresser and walks up slowly. The floor creaks beneath his boots. When heâs in front of you, he reaches for the end of your sweater sleeve and tugs it between his fingers. âYou wanna drink with me?â
Your lashes flutter. âRight now?â
âYeah. right now. Or not. Up to you.â Youâre quiet, nibbling on your bottom lip. He leans in and murmurs, âYou donât have to, baby. If youâre not comfortable, Iâm not gonna make you.â
And maybe itâs how gentle his voice goes. Maybe itâs how patient he is, for once. But it makes something inside you crack open. âI justâŚâ You finally say it. Small and honest. âI just want you to like me.â
The moment hangs in the air like fog. His eyes flicker up to yours. He doesn't laugh. Doesn't tease. He just takes a breath and closes the distanceâhis hand slipping beneath your jaw to tilt your face toward his. âAre you kidding me?â he asks, voice rough. âYou think I donât like you?â
Your breath catches. âI show up to some stupid party full of assholes I hate just so I can see you in that sweater,â he mutters, thumb grazing your cheek. âYouâre the only reason Iâm not high off my ass right now.â
You blink up at him. Slowly. And he leans inâkisses the corner of your mouth. Not quite your lips. Not yet. Then he murmurs, âNow sit on the bed and tell me what kinda drink you want.âÂ
She looks up at him from where sheâs perched on the edge of the bed, her voice quiet under the bass still thudding from downstairs. âCan I go with you?â
He doesnât say yes. Doesnât say anything. Just grabs your wrist and pulls you in close, tucking her under his arm like sheâs already his and leading her back down to the chaos.
Itâs worse this time. Thereâs someone passed out hallway up the stairs. A couple making out in the hallway. The musicâs louder. Someoneâs lighting a blunt in the living room. But Nam Gyu doesnât let go of you, not even once.
In the kitchen, he shrugs his arm off you just long enough to grab a red cup, filling it up from a big bottle of something clear. He leans his weight into the counter lazily, one arm slung low around your waist againâpulling you back against him.
You go without a fight. Back flush against his broad chest. He takes a sip, smirking into the cup, and then lifts it toward your lips. âWanna taste?â
You hesitate, then nod. The second it hits your tongue, you choke. âOh my god,â you sputter, coughing into your sleeve. âThatâs awful!â
Nam Gyu lets out a low laugh against your shoulder, that kind of boyish snort he almost never shows. You feel it more than you hear itâthe way his chest shakes behind you, the curve of his smile pressing into the side of your neck. âI told you.â
âYou didnât tell me it tasted like nail polish remover.â
He just hums, taking another sip like itâs nothing. You wrinkle your nose, settling back against him, your head resting lightly against his shoulder. The musicâs changedâsomething heavier, the bass vibrating through the floorâand you canât help it. You start to sway a little. Barely. Just the tiniest movement.
But he feels it. His hand twitches against your hip. And then he coughs once. Clears his throat. You feel his body tense behind you. His voice sounds a little too casual when he talks to the two guys across from youâone of them saying something about a fight that broke out at the last party, something about who got banned from whose place. But Nam Gyu barely responds. His fingers are digging into your sides now. Harder.
âStop rubbing on my cock,â he mutters in your ear, his voice hoarse and quiet enough that no one else hears, âor Iâll fuck you right here in front of my friends.â
You freeze, it makes you hold your breath. And he just sips his drink like nothing happened. Like he didnât just say that with his lips brushing the shell of your ear, while your heartâs racing and your thighs are clenching and his arm is tightening around your waist. âYouâre so mean,â you whisper breathlessly.
He smiles into your hair. âYeah, but you like it.â
One of his friends glances over from where heâs grabbing another drink. âYo, Gyu,â he calls with a grin, âyou bringinâ her to to share or are you takinâ her straight to the backseat?â
Nam Gyu doesnât miss a seat. âBackseat,â he says, cool and sure. âGonna get my dick sucked before we leave.â
Your hands shoot up to cover your face, lips parted in shock. Youâre mortified. He said it like itâs nothing. Like youâre not right there in his arms, practically melting from embarrassment. âStop,â you whine, shoving lightly at his chest without looking at him. âYou canât just say thatââ
âWhy not?â he asks, way too smug. âThey should know how good you are for me.â
You make a tiny, wounded noise and try to twist away but he just laughs and hugs you tighter from behind. One hand slides up to tilt your chin, making you look at him with that pouty, red faced glare. He hums, âCute. Didnât say it wasnât true.â
His friends chuckle, amused but distracted. The musicâs loud. No one really cares. But heâs got you blushing so hard it hurts, hiding your face again in his hoodie as he kisses the side of your neck like youâre his and he wants everyone to know it.
The second the car door opens, itâs like a dam breaks. Nam Gyu pulls you in with both hands, climbing into the backseat, already crowding you against the seats. It smells like him in hereâhis cologne, his vape, the faintest trace of weedâand itâs warm, private, and dangerous.
âYou were so fuckinâ cute tonight,â he mutters, shoving your sweater up to your ribs, fingers skating over your bra, your waist, gripping like he wants to leave fingerprints. âWalkinâ around all shy in your little socks like you didnât know what the fuck you were doinâ to me.â
You gasp as you watch him unbutton his jeans, tugging them down just far enough for his cock to spring freeâalready hard, flushed dark, tip leaking. âGyuââ
âYou wanted this.â He cups your chin, thumb dragging over your bottom lip. âBeen squirming in my lap all night. You want me in your throat, baby?â You nod, eyes wide. âThen open up. Be a good fuckinâ girl for me.â
You drop to your knees on the floor of the car, wedged between his legs, the driverâs seat digging into your lower back. Your hands wrap around the base of his cock as you lean in, tongue licking a stripe from base to tip. He hisses through his teeth. âShitâlook at you,â he pants. âGood fucking girl.â
You swirl your tongue around the head and then take him in slowly, inch by inch, until your lips are brushing your fingers. Heâs thick. Heavy. The weight of him presses on your tongue, makes your eyes flutter. You moan.
âFuck. Donât tease. Take it.â You do. You pull off, spit thick and glossy between you, then open your mouth widerâletting him slide in deeper. He grabs your hair with one hand, the other bracing on the seat as he starts to thrust.
Itâs filthy. Wet. Your eyes start to water almost immediately as he pushes in too far, holding your head down until your nose is buried in the soft of his belly. You choke, gagâbut donât pull away. Your nails dig into his thighs.
âGod, babyâfuck yesâtake it, just like that,â he grits out. âLook at you. My pretty little slut, takinâ cock in the back of my car like you were made for it.â
You canât respond. You can only moan around him, eyes blurred, throat tight and aching. Spitâs running down your chin, soaking your sweater. Heâs panting now, hips jerking up faster. âYou gonna let me cum in that pretty mouth?â he groans. âHuh? You gonna swallow for me, sweetheart?â
You nod as best as you can with him deep in your throat, and thatâs all it takes. His breath stutters, his grip tightens. âFuck, shit, babyâswallow it. Take all of itââ
He spills down your throat with a rough groan, holding your head down while he pulses in your mouth. You whimper, obedient, swallowing everything, lips wrapped around him until he finally lets you go. You pull off with a gasp, coughing a little, tear streaked and flushed and ruined. And he just leans forward, pulls you into his lap, and kisses you slow. âMy perfect fuckinâ girl.â
Youâre still catching your breath when he reaches up with his sleeve and gently cradles your jaw with his fingers. âMessy girl,â he mutters, but thereâs no bite to it. He wipes at your mouth firstâslow, carefulâthen tips your chin to swipe at the smudged mascara trailing beneath your eyes.
You blink at him, dazed and pink-cheeked, and he smiles like he wants to kiss you again, like heâs proud of the ruin he made. âCâmon,â he murmurs. âLetâs get you in the front seat before someone calls the cops.â
It makes you giggle. He tucks himself back into his jeans, zips up, helps you climb over the center console. His hand never really leaves youâeither steadying your thigh, brushing your hair back, or resting on your knee as he starts the car.
The drive is quiet at first. Warm. The only sound is the hum of the engine and the soft music playing from the radio.
âMy parents come back tomorrow,â you whisper, watching the streetlights blur past.
He glances at you. âYeah?â
You nod, picking at the hem of your sweater. âMeans I probably wonât be able to see you as much.â
Nam Gyu exhales, his hand squeezing your knee silently. âI wonât abandon you, baby.â You glance over at him, brows slightly furrowed. He grins. âYouâre gonna sneak out like a good girl for me, right?â
You roll your eyes, but you nod. âYeah.â
âAtta girl.â HIs voice dips lowâsomething teasing and dark curling around the edges. âKeep beinâ good and Iâll make it worth your while.â
Your cheeks burn. Thereâs a pause for a second, then softer he speaks, âIf your brother knew, heâd literally kill me.â
You laugh under your breath. âYeah. I know.â
He chuckles, tapping the wheel with his thumb. âHe always was a hothead.â
Another stretch of silence, then you speak againâquieter this time. âIâm almost done with this semester.â
âYeah?â he hums. âProud of you.â
âI donât know if Iâm gonna go back.â
His head turns, eyes flicking toward you for a second. âWhy not? Youâre great at art.â
âI enjoy it. I do,â you say, staring out the window. âBut itâs starting to feel like a chore. Like itâs what they want. Not what I want.â
Nam Gyu doesnât speak right away. His fingers squeeze your knee again. âYou know you donât have to live for them, right?â
You glance over, surprised at the softness in his voice. Heâs still focused on the road, but his jawâs tight. âYou can figure out what you want. Doesnât have to be what they mapped out for you.â
You nod slowly. âI donât know what I want yet.â
âThatâs okay,â he murmurs. âWeâll figure it out.â
The words hang in the airâweâll. Like he means to stay. You look at him. The boy who wiped your mouth and kissed your ruined face. Who made you feel both destroyed and protected in the same breath. âOkay,â you whisper.
And when he parks outside your house, he doesnât kiss you againânot right away. He just brushes hair out of your face and says, âText me when youâre inside.â
âI will.â
âGood girl.â
Itâs been a few weeks since that night in his car, since he murmured âgood girlâ against your cheek like it meant something more than obedience. Maybe it did. Maybe it didnât. You havenât dared ask.
Since then, youâve been lying with more ease than you ever thought possible. âStudying at Miaâs.â âGroup project ran late.â âJust staying at school a little longer.â
Your parents donât question much, not nowânot with finals around the corner and your sketchpad always in hand. Youâve been too busy with your last assignments to sneak away like you want to. Youâve been too busy with your last assignments to sneak away like you want to, but Nam Gyu hasnât complained. Not once. He still texts you throughout the day: stupid memes, blurry gym selfies, a voice memo once where he told you âI miss your weird little laugh.â You keep replaying it when the ache of not seeing him gets too much.
For your final project, youâre supposed to do a single charcoal portrait: someone real, someone who stirs something in you. You chose him. You donât tell him, of course. Youâve been working on it in secret, staying up late when the house is quiet and everyoneâs asleep. His face is starting to emerge from the paperâsharp, shadowed. The slope of his brow, the mess of his hair. Your fingers stay smudged with graphite. Youâve ruined two pillowcases and a sweatshirt. You donât care.
Itâs almost done when your phone buzzes beside you.
bby boiđ§¸: come open ur window
Your heart stutters. Youâre in bed already, oversized shirt on and bare legs, a little flushed from how often youâve been thinking of him lately. You tiptoe across your room, crack the window open, and there he isâdark jacket, tousled hair, looking up at you like heâs done it a hundred times.
You help him climb in, trying not to laugh when he bumps his knee on your desk. âShh,â you whisper, biting your lip. âYouâre gonna wake up the whole house.â
He grins, breathless from the climb, and whispers back, âYou gotta get a ladder or something. Iâm getting too old for this.â
You snort softly and motion for him to sit, but his eyes are already scanning your roomâand they land on the sketchbook still open on your desk. He tilts his head. âWhatâs that?â
You freeze. âNothingââ But heâs already walking toward it. Youâre too slow to stop him. His hand hovers over the pageânot touching, not smudging. Just looking.
Itâs his face. Almost exactly. You even captured the little scar above his eyebrow. The way his mouth curves when heâs about to tease you. The soft shadows under his cheekbones. Itâs him, raw and unfiltered. Itâs him how you see him.
When he speaks, itâs quiet. âIs this for school?â
You nod, cheeks burning. âFinal. ItâsâŚitâs a portrait unit.â
Heâs silent for a long beat. Just staring. Thenâ âYou made me look better than I do in real life.â
You huff. âNo I didnât.â
He finally turns toward you. His voice is rough when he says, âThatâs how you see me?â
You nod again, smaller this time. He steps closer. His hand finds your cheek and his thumb brushes a charcoal smudge you didnât know was there. âYou make me look like someone worth something,â he murmurs. âNo oneâs ever done that before.â
And suddenly your room feels very small. The night very quiet. Your breath caught in your chest.
You whisper, âYou are.â His fingers tilt your chin up. And when he kisses you, itâs the softest itâs ever beenâlike heâs scared heâll break something if he presses too hard. Like heâs trying to memorize how this moment feels.
You sit cross-legged on your bed, legs warm under the covers, blanket draped across your lap. Nam Gyuâs stretched out beside you, propped against your headboard, jacket sleeves pushed up around his forearms and one leg hanging off the mattress. His hairâs still messy from the wind outside, and he smells faintly like smoke and detergent.
The windowâs cracked open behind you for air. A breeze curls in, bruising over your bare arms. He looks at you sideways. His voice holds a bit of a teasing tone. âYou gonna hide me forever?â
You smile, pulling your legs up to your chest. âWhy? You jealous?â
He scoffs, then shrugs, not denying it. âMaybe. Kinda pathetic, right?â
You giggle, and he leans his head back against your wall like heâs trying not to smile. The sound of your laugh is his favorite thing in the world and you have no idea.
âNo,â you admit softly. âIâm not trying to hide you. Iâm justâŚâ You trail off, picking at the edge of your blanket.
He doesnât push, just waits. You finally exhale, voice quieter. âIâm sure Iâll tell them eventually. JustâŚnot right now.â
He nods, like he understands. Like he does understand. Thereâs a long, gentle pause. And then, just above a whisper, you say, âI know why they donât like you anymore.â
His jaw twitches, but doesnât look away. Doesnât speak. You go on, nervous but honest. âI think itâll be hard to show them youâve changed. Especially with, you knowâŚyou being twenty-five. And my brotherâs ex-best friend.â
Nam Gyuâs gaze drops. His thumb starts tracing a crease in your sheets. âYeah.â
âTheyâll really have a hard time with it,â you add.
âI know.â His voice is so soft it barely reaches you. âBut I donât care about them.â You glance up at him. âI care about you,â he says, finally looking at you again. âThatâs it.â
Your heart aches. You try to hold his gaze, but your face heats up too fast, so you look back down at your lap, hiding a shy smile. He shifts closer, knocking your knee with his. âHey,â he whispers. You look up. âIâm not going anywhere,â he says. âIâll sneak through your window for as long as it takes.â
That makes you laugh again, soft and surprised. âYou better be careful, my dadâs got a gun.â
âIâm not scared of your dad.â
âYou should be,â you tease.
He grins at that, and for a few quiet minutes, you just sit there. Letting it be easy. Letting yourself enjoy him. Then he reaches out, brushing a lock of hair away from your face. âSoâŚyou drew me, huh?â
You groan, grabbing a pillow and half heartedly whacking him with it. âDonât make it weird!â
Your cheeks burn again. But you let yourself lean into his side, head resting on his shoulder, legs tangled under the blanket.
Outside the wind rustles the leaves. Inside, you whisper, âI really like you.â And he doesnât say it backânot yet. But he turns his head and kisses your forehead like he means something more than words ever could.
3 Years LaterâŚ
Youâre twenty-two now. Not the same girl who used to sneak out at night and crawl into the passenger seat of his beat-up car, trembling and giggling. Not the girl who kept him hidden like a sin. Youâve graduated, moved to Seoulâfar away from the suffocating small town and all its long memories. You rent a cozy little apartment above a flower shop, teach art at a nearby school, and on weekends, you lead pottery classes for older women who treat you like their daughter.
Youâre happy, or maybe just quiet. Itâs not the same thing, but itâs close enough. He stopped reaching out years ago. First, the replies came slower. Then his messages turned from blue to green. You checked his socialsâgone. He blocked you. No warning. JustâŚgone. It left a hole you havenât really filled.
Your new friend drags you out to this sleek little place tucked into a quiet alley near Itaewon. Good food, expensive drinks, soft jazz humming in the background. Itâs a far cry from the smoke filled house parties you used to cling to Nam Gyu in.
You eat. Laugh. Nurse your drink while your friend heads out early, waving goodbye with a wink and a joke about getting some sleep for once. And youâre left in the half dim lighting, swirling your cocktail with the straw, letting the music buzz low in your chest.
Thatâs when you feel it. A presence. Eyes. You look up. Nam Gyu. Standing near the door, dressed in black, sharp around the edgesâjust like always. But older. His hairâs a little longer, his build filled out. Thereâs a woman on his arm, clinging to him like a promise.
And yetâhis eyes are locked on you. For a moment, neither of you move. Then he says something to the girlâquiet and low. She nods and walks off without looking back. And he stays. Still staring.
You drop your eyes, suddenly cold all over, pretending you didnât see him. You focus on your drink, heart pounding in your ears. You should walk away. Leave. But itâs too late.
Heâs already walking toward you. He stops at your table, hands in his coat pockets, that same worn-in confidence in his stance. âYou grew up.â
You donât look at him. Not at first. Just blink, stare at the ice melting in your drink. But something in you snaps. You glance up slowly, eyes sharp, voice quiet. âYeah. Thatâs what happens when you ghost someone for three years. People change.â
And that hits him. You see it. The flicker in his jaw, the faint squint in his eyes. He pulls the empty chair out and sits without asking. Like he used to. Like no time passed at all.
âYouâre still mad.â
âIâm not mad.â You laugh bitterly. âIâm over it. I justâŚdidnât expect to see you here. In Seoul. With another girl on your arm.â
He leans back in the chair, eyes scanning your face like heâs trying to memorize it all over again. âDidnât think Iâd see you either. Youâre different.â
âSo are you.â You pause, then add, quieter, âI didnât think Iâd ever see you again.â And neither of you say itâbut itâs there. The silence. The grief. The thousand things that were left unsaid.
âYou should go.â Your voice is steady, but the hand gripping your glass is trembling slightly. You donât look at him. You canât. His presence is a weight across your skin, heavy and electric. âIâll forget I saw you,â you murmur. âJust go.â
Nam Gyu doesnât move. âThatâs not what you want.â
You swallow hard. Still not looking at him. Your thighs press together under the table on pure instinctâtight and tense. Youâre trying to stay composed, but he sees the way your knuckles pale where you hold your glass. âIâm serious.â
âSo am I.â He leans forward slightly. Drops his voice. âCome back to my place.â
You scoff, shaking your head once. âWhat about your girlfriend?â
He lets out a short, amused breath through his nose. âSheâs not my girlfriend.â Something shifts. Something cracks. Before you can talk yourself out of it, youâre standing. You donât look at him as you walk toward the door. He follows without a word.
The city blurs by outside the windows of the black car. You sit in the back seat beside him, silent. Tension coils in the narrow space between your bodies. His leg brushes yours and you donât move away.
By the time the elevator door opens to his floor, your heart is pounding in your ears. His apartment is nothing like what you imagined it to be. A luxury penthouse, floor to ceiling windows, expensive furniture. Dark, sleek, masculine.
You step inside slowly, heels clicking against the hardwood. You donât say anything at firstâjust walk to the edge of the living room where Seoul glitters beneath you like a galaxy.
âHow the hell do you afford this?â you ask, half to yourself.
Behind you, Nam Gyu shrugs off his coat. âI work. I donât blow it on drugs anymore. Turns out you save a lot of money when youâre not trying to kill yourself.â
You turn around, lips partingâbut the words catch in your throat. Heâs staring at you. Not just looking. Staring. Like he hasnât blinked since the second you stepped through the door. You glance down at your dress. Tight. Black, with thin sleeves resting on your shoulder. A slit up the thigh. It clings to all the right places. Your body has changed since he last saw you. Fuller. Softer. More woman than girl now.
You look back up at him. âWhat?â
He doesnât answer. He moves. Crosses the space between you in three strides. His hands are on your waist, gripping, pulling. His mouth finds yoursâhot, desperate, bruising. He kisses you like itâs been years. Like he hated every day he couldnât.
Your back hits the window. His hands push down your dress straps roughly, pulling them to your elbows. His mouth is on your jaw, your neck, your collarbone. âFuck,â he breathes against your skin, voice hoarse. âYouâfuck, you feel so good now.â
Your fingers are in his hair. His knees hit the hardwood. He doesnât even hesitate. Not when he sinks down in front of you, palms sliding up the backs of your calves, slow and reverent like heâs praying. Not when his eyes travel up your legs, over the soft swell of your thighs peeking through the slit in your dress. He palms themâbig, rough hands gripping tight.
âFuck,â he whispers, sounding absolutely wrecked. âYou got soââ He swallows. âYou grew up, baby.â His eyes flash up to yours, pupils blown wide. âCanât believe youâve been walking around like this. Looking like this. And Iâve beenââ he breaks off, licking his lips. âDreaming about this body for years.â
Your heart pounds. He pulls your dress up, bunches it around your hips. His hands slide up the backs of your thighs, gripping your ass, squeezing hardâgroaning like heâs in pain. His mouth finds the inside of your knee, trailing kisses up, slow and sloppy, as he mumbles against your skin.
âWant you so bad, fuckâlemme taste you please. Justâplease, baby, Iâll be so good.â
You stare down at himâthis tall, cocky, once detached manânow on his knees, lips at your inner thigh, begging. Begging to worship. âYouâre begging now?â you murmur, breathless.
He nods against your skin. âIâll beg all night. You want me to get on my hands and knees and crawl after you, I fucking will. Just let me have you. Let me taste you.â
You step out of your heels. Then out of your panties. He groans when they slide down your legs, eyes locked to the wet center like itâs the only thing on earth. Like itâs his.
And then heâs buried between your thighs. His tongue is hot and filthy, all open mouthed kisses and greedy flicks. He moans into youâloud, like he doesnât care who hears. Like he wants the whole goddamn city to know how good you taste. His hands hold your thighs apart, fingers pressing bruises into soft flesh. He eats like heâs drowning in you.
âFuck, youâre sweet,â he mumbles, lips slippery against your folds. âMissed this pussy. Dreamed about itââ
His tongue drags up and flattens over your clit. You gaspâhead falling back against the glass window, body trembling as he sucks, gentle and then hard. He groans like he feels it too, like your pleasure is his pleasure.
âYouâre perfect now,â he mutters, breathless. âFull and warm and fuckinâ mine.â
You whimper. âGyuâŚâ
He pulls back just long enough to look up at you. His chin is wet, lips shiny, eyes wild. âSay you missed me,â he growls.Â
âI missed you,â you whisper, shaking.
âSay this pussy missed me.â
Your voice breaks this time. âIt missed youâfuckââ And then he dives back in like heâs starving. Tongue flicking and curling and fucking into you until your knees buckle. You cry out, grinding down on his mouth, and he lets youâhands under your ass, guiding your hips, moaning as you ride his face.
Your thighs clench around his head. He doesnât stop. Not until youâre full on sobbing through your orgasm, shaking, slumped against the window. Your dress is a mess. Your hairâs a mess. Your legs wonât stop trembling.
Nam Gyu finally risesâslow, towering over you. He licks his lips, grinning. âNow,â he says, undoing his belt, voice like thunder. âIâm gonna fuck you in front of this window until every bastard in this city knows who you belong to.â
He towers over youâbelt undone, pants halfway down his thighs, cock flushed and aching. Itâs thick, heavy, twitching against his abs, and heâs panting just from looking at you. âPlease, please let me fuck you.â His voice is trembling.
Your breath catches. Heâs flushed, hair messy, pupils blown wide with want. Heâs not cocky anymore. Not right now. Heâs wretched before heâs even really touched you. âSay I can, baby. Say itâs mine.â He pleads with you.
You glance down at his cock, then back up, lips curled into the faintest smirk. âYou want it that bad?â
He nods quickly, hands coming up to cup your face. âSo bad. You donât even knowâIâve been dreaming about you, baby. Jerking off to the thought of your tits, your thighs, your voice. Iâd do anything. Anything. Let me show you.â
You lean in, brush your lips across his ear. âThen show me.â
He groans, loud, and spins you gently, pressing your front to the window. The glass is cold against your skin, but heâs already tugging your dress up, sliding it over your hips until itâs bunched around your waist.Â
You hear him behind you. Fumbling, panting, cursing under his breath like heâs in pain. âSo pretty,â he breathes, gripping your ass, spreading you open. âYour bodyâŚfuck, your bodyâs perfect. You were beautiful before, but nowââ He groans. âNow youâre a fuckinâ dream.â
You whimper when he grinds his cock between your thighs, dragging the length of it over your soaked center. He leans over you, pressing his chest to your back, voice hot and needy in your ear. âLet me in baby. Please. Let me fuck you. Let me make you mine again.â
âSay it,â you whisper, trembling.
He nuzzles your neck. âPlease, baby. I need it. Need to feel you again. Need to fuck you until you scream my name.â
You shift your hips back, guiding him to your entrance. âThen take it.â He sinks in with a gasp. His hands fly to your waistâgripping so tight, he might bruise. His hips roll forward, slow at first, savoring the heat, the stretch, the way you take every inch like you were made for him.
âFuck, fuck, you feel even better than I rememberedâtight, hot, wet. Youâre perfect. Youâre fucking perfect.â
You moan, pressing your palms to the window as his pace builds. Every thrust is deep, smooth, worshipful. Heâs fucking you like itâs the last time he ever willâlike heâs memorizing your body all over again.
The glass fogs beneath your hands. âLook at you,â he pants, thrusting harder. âBent over my window, letting me fuck you like a good girl. All these people down there, and youâre just taking it.â
You cry out when he hits that perfect spotâwhen his hands slide under your dress to grab at your tits, squeezing, groaning at the way they fill his palms. âYou got so soft,â he moans. âSo full. Your thighsâyour assâyour titsâfuck, I could die between them.â
His hips slam into you harder, needier, his voice dissolving into whimpers against your skin. âIâm gonna come,â he gasps. âIâm gonna fucking come. Say itâs mineâsay this pussyâs mineâplease.â
You tilt your head back, grinding against him, loving every filthy, desperate word. âItâs yours, Gyu. Itâs all yours.â Thatâs all it takes. He breaks. He comes with a guttural moan, hips snapping forward as he spills deep inside youâgrinding through it, panting, groaning, hands trembling where they told you.
He doesnât pull out. Just leans forward, pressing his forehead to your shoulder, whispering between shaky breaths. âI missed you. I missed you so fucking much. Donât make me go another day without this. Without you.â
You reach back, threading your fingers through his hair. âIâm not going anywhere,â you whisper.
âGood,â he murmurs. âBecause Iâm never letting you go again.â
The lights are dim, casting a soft golden glow across the tiles and the water. The deep porcelain tub stretches wide in his massive bathroomâsleek black counters, warm wood floors, and wall to wall windows that overlook the glittering city.
But right now, all you care about is him.Â
You sit across from each other, the water nearly up to your shoulders, the scent of sandalwood bubbles curling into the air between you. Your knees poke up from the water, glistening in the low light, and his hands rest lazily on his thighs, head tilted back against the edge of the tube.
He looks soft like this. Damp hair curling slightly at the ends, his strong chest rising and falling slowly. When you stretch your legs out and place your feet in his lap, he looks downâsmiles.
You wiggle your toes. Nam Gyu huffs a quiet laugh, one hand sliding along your shin. âYouâre such a brat.â
âSay it again,â you murmur, teasing.
He grins. âBrat.â
You stick your tongue out at him. He catches your ankle, presses a kiss just above the bone. Itâs stupidly gentle. So is the look in his eyes. âWhat?â you ask, your voice dipping quiet, almost embarrassed.
His shoulders shrug. âNothing. Youâre justâŚhere. In my bath. With your toes in my lap. I think I used to dream about this.â
Thatâs what does it. The question slips out before you can stop itâfast, unfiltered. âSo who was that girl, if sheâs not your girlfriend?â The words echo a bit too sharply in the steam filled room. Your eyes go wide. âShitâI didnât meanââ
âItâs fine,â he cuts in gently. âYou donât have to act like it didnât bother you.â
You look down at the water, heart racing, skin heating in more ways than one. âIt didnât bother me,â you say softly.
Nam Gyu gives a slow, amused sigh. âWe work together.â
You glance up. âWork together?â You make air quotes with your fingers, voice skeptical. It makes him smirk.
âYou wanna go through my phone?â he offers casually. âDeadass. You can scroll through the whole thing. You wonât find anything. No flirty texts. No hidden apps. Just boring ass group chats and my open tabs of porn with girls that look like you.â
You stare at him wide eyed. âWhat?â
âIâm not kidding,â he says, holding your gaze. âSame body type. Same thighs. Same tits. Same soft little belly. They all look like you. I havenât fucked anyone since you. Havenât wanted to.â
The words dangle in the air, leaving you speechless. He runs his hand up your calf, fingers trailing lazily along your skin. âItâs like I ruined myself,â he says with a small laugh. âNow nothing else works.â
You hold your breath. âGyuâŚâ
âI donât say that to pressure you,â he murmurs. âYou donât owe me anything. But I donât want you wondering where Iâve been or who Iâve been with. Itâs only ever been you.â
You slip your foot from his lap, crawling forward through the water, slow and shy. He watches you, still and waiting, until youâre between his legs, your chest pressed lightly to his, water lapping around your waists.
Your fingers slide up to his jaw. You tilt his face to you. âThank you for telling me,â you whisper.
His eyes flicker to your lips, then back to your eyes. âYou gonna kiss me now?â
You lean in, barely brushing your mouth over his. âMaybe.â
He grins, water dripping from his lashes. âI missed you so bad,â he breathes out. You kiss him. Long and deep. The kind that makes your toes curl beneath the bubbles.
His hands find your back, your waist, your thighs under the water. You pull back just an inch, catching your breath, whispering, âYou donât have to ruin yourself anymore.â He looks at you like heâs already been saved.
Youâre still curled into him, damp skin pressed against his chest, your nose tucked under his jaw. The bubbles have started to fade, leaving the water silky and warm around you both. His arms rest around you, hands drifting mindlessly over your hips, like he doesnât want to stop touching you for even a second.
You pull back just enough to look at him. Thereâs a smile curling at your lip. âSo youâre really gonna sit here and tell me,â you murmur, âthat you didnât fuck anyone else in the last three years.â
His brows lift. âThatâs what I said.â
You tilt your head. âNot even once?â
âJust me and my hand,â he says without shame.
Your mouth falls open a little. âWhat the fuck.â
He shrugs, totally unfazed. âI tried. Once. Didnât work.â
Your eyes narrow in disbelief. âDidnât work?â
âCouldnât get it up,â he says bluntly. âShe wasnât you.â
You blink at him, jaw slack. âWow. Really making me feel special over here.â
âYou should,â his eyes drag slowly down your face, your lips, your body beneath the water. âYou broke my dick. Congratulations.â
You snort, about to make some sarcastic commentâbut then his hand trails down your side andrests on your thigh, spreading gently. Not demanding, just waiting. You breathe in slowly. Then you slide out of his arms. His brow furrows. âWhat are youââ
âShhh,â you whisper, slipping lower in the water. His hands twitch like heâs about to reach for you, but then youâre disappearing beneath the surface.
The water distorts everything. His legs, the dimmed lights, the ripples against your arms as you ease forward and settle between his thighs. You press your palms to them gently, guiding him back as he leans against the tub wall.
You glance up, his figure blurred and glowing in golds and blues through the water, and then you wrap your fingers around his half hard cock, stroking slow. Above the water, he groans. His head falls back.
You close your lips around the tip. Heat pulses through the water and through your chest at once. You bob your head slowly, the pressure different down here, warmer, heavier. Your mouth moves with gentle suction, tongue tracing every inch of him you can fit.
You feel the way his hips twitch, his thighs flexing under your hands. You come up only for airâeyes meeting his as you gasp softly, mouth wet and pink and hungry. âYouâre really gonna kill me,â he pants.
âIâm making up for three years of you being tragically abstinent,â you tease, voice low and playful.
He grabs the sides of the tub, knuckles white. âYou think I wonât drown in this bathtub for you?â he growls.
You grin. Then you go back down. This time, you take him deeper. Let your throat relax, water bubbling softly around you as you move. His hand slips into your wet hair, not pulling, just holding. Like heâs grounding himself.
When you come up again, your lips are slick and swollen, and his whole body's shaking. âGet up here,â he groans, voice wrecked. âPlease.â
You blink slowly. Innocent, dangerous. âWhy?â
âI need to fuck you.â
You hum, dragging your nails along his thigh. âThought you liked my mouth?â
His hand wraps tight around your wrist. You think heâs going to pull you into his lap againâbut instead, heâs yanking you up, water sluicing down your body, your chest bare and glistening in the low bathroom light. âGet up here,â he growls. âNow.â
You step out of the tub slowly, dripping, tremblingâbut you donât get far. He doesnât wait. The second your foot hits the tile, he grabs your hips, towel falling away, and guides you down to the floor with him. We skin against wet skin. His back hits the side of the tub, and he grabs you right over his lap, one hand fisting your thigh, the other slicking down your waist, squeezing.
âYou gonna make me beg again?â he pants, eyes hungry and ruined.Â
You stare down at him, breath catching, chest heaving. âNo,â you whisper. âI want you to feel how much I missed you.â You reach down, guide him to your center, and sink down slow.
His mouth drops open. His eyes flutter shut. His head thuds back against the porcelain. âFuckâbabyââ
You roll your hips gently, slowly, letting him stretch you open, letting him feel every second of it. Heâs still wet from the tub, water pooling on the tile beneath you, your thighs soaked and gleaming as you ride him in slow, grounding waves.
He looks up at you like heâs never seen anything more perfect. His hands settle on your waist, fingers shaking, thumbs stroking your stomach. âYouâre unreal,â he murmurs. âYou feel unreal.â
You lean forward, bracing your hands on his shoulders and he leans in just enough to kiss youâsloppy, desperate, soaking wetâmoaning into your mouth as you move faster. âI missed you so much,â you gasp.
âI never stopped thinking about you,â he breathes. âNot once.â
And then youâre gasping, trembling, choking his name as your thighs shake and his grip turns bruisingâand he fucks up into you like heâs losing his mind, like heâs starving, like heâs going to die here if he doesnât make you come on his cock one more time.
Youâre both still dripping, steam rising from the bath behind you, your bodies tangled on the bathroom floorâno time, no space, just now. Just need.
Youâre both a messâsweaty, soaked, sprawled on the bathroom floor. Water drips from your hair, your thighs still trembling as you lean forward and rest your cheek against his chest. His heart is still pounding beneath your ear, fast and wild like it hasnât quite caught up yet.
Nam Gyu exhales, arms loosely draped around your back, and murmurs, âStay.â
You lift your head and look up at him, lips still parted from the kiss you just barely pulled away from. âI canât.â
âNooo,â he gorans, throwing his head back dramatically against the floor. âWhy not.â
You sit up slowly, reaching for a towel and dabbing at your skin. âBecause I have to go back to my place.â
âWhy,â he whines, dragging the world out like a child being denied dessert.
You raise your brows at him, smug. âYou can text me. I wonât block you.â A pause. âLike you did to me.â
He groans again, but this time itâs more shame than play. He covers his face with his hand. âLow blow.â
You stifle a giggle, drying off as you stand up. âYou deserved it.â
He peeks at you through his fingers. âSo we fuck and now youâre justâŚheading out?â He sits up, watching you with narrowed eyes, trying to look offended but the corner of his mouth is twitching. âWhat are you now, a fuckboy?â
You laugh, tossing the towel at his head. âPlease. My cat will literally kill me if I donât go home and feed him. Heâs feral.â
He catches the towel mid-air, chuckling under his breath as he watches you step around him, grabbing your dress. âYour catâs got an attitude,â he mutters.
âSo do I,â you say with a wink, slipping your dress back on. âMaybe thatâs why he likes me.â
Nam Gyu is still sitting on the floor, legs stretched out, towel in his lap, just watching you move. Like he still doesnât quite believe youâre here. Like heâs trying to memorize the curve of your back and the shape of your smile.
âDo you work tomorrow?â you ask, glancing at your reflection in the mirror, adjusting your hair.Â
He shrugs, like the question is beneath him. âIâll call in.â
You roll your eyes, but your gin is soft. âOkay, wellâonce you do that, call me. And weâll meet up. Okay?â
His eyes warm. He nods. âOkay.â
You lean down, press one last kiss to his lips, and whisper, âIâll see you soon.â
And as you head for the door, he calls after you, voice lazy and teasing: âTell your cat I said fuck you.â You laugh all the way to the elevator.
The night air is cool on your cheeks as you walk home alone, heels clicking against the pavement, your head still spinning from everything. From him. His mouth. His hands. The things he said. The way he looked at you like youâd swallowed the stars and spit out light. You smile. You donât mean toâbut it happens.
Your phone is warm in your hand, your fingers brushing over his most recent texts. Let me know you got home safe. i shouldâve made you stay. i already miss youâŚ
You tuck it away and swipe to call insteadâsomeone else. Your brother answers on the second ring.
âYo. Everything okay?â
âYeah,â you say, adjusting the strap of your purse. âI justâŚguess who I ran into tonight.â
He groans. âIf this is one of those âyouâll never believe who I saw at the grocery storeâ calls, I swear to Godââ
âItâs Nam Gyu.â
Silence. Then a sigh, long and familiar. âYouâre kidding.â
âNope.â
âWhere? And why?â he asks.
You pause. âOut. At this lounge. He was there with someone but then heâŚhe saw me. Came over.â
Your brother mutters something under his breath, probably cursing like he knows your mom doesnât like. âStay away from him,â he says. Not a suggestion. A command. âThereâs a reason Mom and Dad made him stop coming around back then. You remember that, right?â
You stop at the crosswalk, waiting for the light to change. Your heart beats a little slower than it did earlier. âI know. I justâŚâ You swallow. âHe seemedâŚdifferent. I donât know. Maybe heâs changed.â
Your brotherâs voice is flat. âYeah. I highly doubt that. People like that donât change.â
You shift your phone to the other ear, trying not to sound defensive. âMaybe youâre right.â
âJust be careful, okay? Seriously. That guyâs notâheâs not built for soft things.â
You donât say anything else. You just promise youâll call later, then hang up as your apartment comes into view. Once inside, your cat is already meowing at the door like you left him for dead. You scoop him up, kissing the top of his head as he purrs against your collarbone. âI know, I know. I was bad. Iâll feed you.â
You change out of your dress, wash the makeup off your face, pull on the ugliest, softest sleep shirt you own. You scroll through your texts again.
Gyuđ: you make the stupidest faces when ur about to cum
Gyuđ: in a good way btw
Gyuđ: text me when ur home
Gyuđ: text me when ur in bed
Gyuđ: text me even if ur not thinking about me. idc iâll take crumbs
You smile again. Just a little. And type:
you: iâm home. in bed. and thinking about you
you: but iâll text you in the morning, gyu. goodnightÂ
You donât expect him to replyâbut he does. Almost instantly.
Gyuđ: fuuuck. okay. goodnight baby
You sleep like shit. Even curled under your coziest blanket with your cat tucked behind your knees, all you can think about is the way Nam Gyu looked at you last nightâlike he wanted to memorize the shape of your body with his hands, like the ache in his voice was real when he said âplease.â
You wake up slow, eyes gritty, throat dry. A faint soreness between your legs and something heavier sitting right in your chest. Itâs a quiet morning. The city hasnât quite stirred yet. You make tea. Feed Tofu so he wonât scream at you. Sit cross legged on your couch with your sketchpad and try to lose yourself in a drawingâbut your lines are uneven. Unsteady. You flip to a blank page and try again, but halfway through you realize youâre drawing him.
Again.
Same strong brow. Same dark eyes. A mouth you could recognize by feel alone. You drop the pencil, lean back, and justâŚstare at the paper. You shouldnât miss him. You shouldnât. But you do. You pull your phone from the coffee table and scroll back to his last text from last night. You stare at it, thumb hovering. Then you start typing.
you: i think i missed you.
The read receipt pops up almost instantly. A bubble appears. Then it disappears. Then reappears.
Gyuđ: meet me at my club tonight. 7pm.
You: okay
You spend way too long picking out what to wear. Itâs stupid. Youâve already had your tongue down his throat and his hands between your thighs and you've literally ridden him on his bathroom floorâbut still. You want to look good.
You pull on a long black skirt with a small slit up the side. A soft, oversized cream sweaterâthat sweater, the one from years ago. The one he used to tease you about for being a blanket. You tuck it in just enough to show off your waist. High-top sneakers, a little scuffed. Hair down. Lips tinted rose.
You keep the makeup minimal. Soft, comfortable, like you. Your phone buzzes with the Uber notification. You give your cat one last kiss on the head. âDonât wait up,â you mumble.
The club is huge. Loud and packed. The music thrums like a heartbeat in the pavement beneath your feet. The line outside stretches down the block and curls around the corner. You suck in a breath, heart already skipping.
ThisâŚis definitely not your speed. But you keep your head down, stay in line, and when you finally reach the front, you dig through your bag for your IDâonly for the bouncer to nod at you and open the velvet rope. âGo ahead.â
You look at him confused. âWait, whatâ?â
But the guyâs already moved on to the next person. You step inside. The air hits you like a wall: warm, electric, pulsing with music, and sweat, and weed. Neon lights flicker from above, reflecting off mirrored walls and liquor bottles behind the long bar.
People are dancing, drinking, pressed together in corners and booths. Itâs chaos. Flashy and expensive. Like something out of someone elseâs life. You hover next to the bar, trying not to look too awkward. You pull out your phone and text: iâm here.
You chew your lip. Grip your purse. You feel like you donât belong, like youâre playing dress up. You wonder where he isâif heâs even here yet. If this was a mistake. Until you feel a hand curl gently around your waist. And hear that familiar voice, low and close to your ear. âOf course you wore that sweater.â
You turn, already smiling. Nam Gyuâs standing there in all blackâjeans that fit way too well, a dark t-shirt, and a subtle chain around his neck. He looks good. Too good. And heâs staring at you like youâre the only person in the room.
He leans in a little, fingers still at your waist. âYou want a drink?â
You hesitate. âUmâŚsomething light?â
He raises an eyebrow. âLight?â
âI have to function, Nam Gyu,â you tease, bumping his arm gently.
That gets a crooked grin out of him. âGot it. Girly. Weak. Possibly pink.â
You roll your eyes but donât let go of the smile tugging at your lips. âI trust you.â
He waves down the bartenderâdoesnât even have to wait. Just murmurs something low and quick, and the guy nods and starts mixing. You blink, impressed. âYou really own this place?â
He shrugs. âI helped start it. Now I run most of it.â
The drink slides into your hand moments later. Itâs pink. Fizzy. Garnished with a sugared rim and a twist of something citrusy. You raise an eyebrow. âThis better not make me black out.â
He laughs. âYouâll be fine.â
You take a sip. Itâs sweet, barely any alcohol, and honestlyâdelicious. âOkay, you win.â
âSay it again,â he murmurs, brushing a knuckle against your hip. âI win.â
You bump him again with your elbow. âDonât push it.â
Nam Gyu leads you through the maze of people like heâs done it a thousand times. And you guess he has. He knows this place like muscle memoryânodding at staff, sliding past corners and shadows and pulsing light until youâre climbing a narrow set of stairs tucked behind the DJ booth.
The noise dips once youâre up top. Not gone, but softened. The VIP lounge is sleek and expensive. Still crowded, still buzzingâbut the music doesnât rattle in your teeth up here. The lightingâs softer, the drinks fancier, the couches low and plush and wrapped in velvet.
You hover just inside the railing. You can see the whole club from here. The crowd below like moving constellations, all glitter and movement and rhythm. Itâs a little surreal. This whole night is.
Nam Gyu presses a warm hand to the small of your back. âYou okay?â
You nod, eyes still on the floor below. âItâs just a lot.â
âYouâre doing good.â His voice is warm, fond. âYou look good, too.â You glance at him, just to see if he means it. Heâs already looking. Already caught. You feel heat bloom at the base of your throat. âStill soft,â he murmurs, fingers brushing the edge of your sweater where it tucks into your waistband. âStill my girl in sneakers.â
Your breath catches. You donât say anything. You just take another sip of your drink and try not to melt under the way heâs watching you.
You take the last sip of your drink, lips brushing the sugared rim one final time. Nam Gyuâs watching youâhe hasnât stopped. Leaning back on the velvet couch, one arm stretched along the back behind you, the other draped over his thigh. Relaxed and cocky. Completely zeroed in on you.
He looks like he owns the room. He catches your glance and tips his head slightly. âWhat?â
You shrug, trying to play it cool. âYouâre staring.â
âCan you blame me?â
You look away, eyes drifting down to the crowd below. Bodies moving together like waves. Hands in the air, heads thrown back, lights slicing through the dark. Music thrumming through the floor, vibrating faintly beneath your shoes.
âStill not your scene?â he asks softly.
You rest your arms on the railing, trying not to fidget. âNot really.â
âBut youâre here.â
You bite your lip. âI said I missed you, didnât I?â
His breath catches. Itâs subtle, but you hear it. Feel it. That little hitch of surprise. Or maybe restraint. When you glance back, heâs already closer. Not touching. But closer. His voice dips. âYou know, if I were still twenty-five, I probably wouldâve pulled you into the bathroom by now.â
Your eyes widen. âYouâd pretend you didnât want it,â he continues, âbut youâd be dripping. Just like always.â
Your thighs clench under your skirt. You keep your face turned away, but he sees itâhe feels it. You shake your head, forcing a light laugh. âYouâre not twenty-five anymore. And Iâm not nineteen.â
âNo,â he says. âYouâre better now.â His hand brushes your legâbarely there. Just the edge of his pinky along your thigh, just above your knee. A touch so light it mightâve been imagined. You press your lips together, pulse ticking fast in your throat. He leans in again, mouth near your ear. âTell me you donât want me to kiss you right now.â
You donât answer. Not out loud. You just watch the floor below, the way the people dance like nothing else matters. Like theyâre made for it. And you try to pretend your heartâs not thudding out of rhythm every time Nam Gyu looks at you like that.
The second he unlocks the door to his office and lets you inside, you donât wait. You barely hear the click of it shutting before youâre pushing him back, slamming your mouth into his. His low grunt stutters in surprise, but he melts into it fastâtoo fastâhis hands already sliding down to your waist like heâs been touch starved.
âFuck, baby,â he mumbles between kisses, pulling at the hem of your sweater. âDidnât know you were gonna be the one attacking me tonight.â
You tug him toward the couch, straddling him without another word. His back hits the cushions with a soft thud, and youâre already grinding your hips down into his lap, your long skirt riding up with every roll.
He gasps. Then grins. âShit. Okay. What do you want me to do?â
Your fingers curl into his shoulder, eyes dark as sin. âNothing.â You smirk. âJust sit there and be good.â
His breath catches, then he nods fast, wide-eyed and helpless. âYes maâam.â
You swear you feel him throb beneath you when he says it. You reach down between you and unbuckle his belt slowly, fingers brushing over the hardness beneath. Heâs not just hardâheâs aching. You can tell by the way his head tips back, the way he groans when you palm him through his boxers. âFuck, youâre gonna kill me.â He mutters again.
You slip your hand under the waistband and wrap around him, warm and solid in your grip. His hips jerk. His fingers clench the edge of the couch. He doesnât even try to touch you backâjust watches you, desperate and ruined, as you work him slowly, teasing.
But then your phone vibrates on the table behind him. You donât look at it. But it keeps going. Buzz. Buzz.
Nam Gyu blinks up at you. âYou can get it, babyââ
You grab it and answer without checking the caller ID. âHello?â
Your brotherâs voice hits your ear, loud and clear. âHeyâdid you talk to the lawyer yet? They need the signature for Mom and Dadâs estate paperworkââ
Nam Gyu stiffens beneath you. Your free hand presses to his chest. Stay quiet, donât move.
You clear your throat and try to keep your voice steady. âYeah, I got the email, I just havenâtââ
You shift your hips, slowly. Nam Gyu gasps. âF-fuck.â
âWho was that?â your brother snaps. âIs someone with you?â
Your stomach drops. You answer too fast. âJust a friend.â
He goes quiet, then says, âYouâre with him, arenât you?â
You glance down at Nam Gyu. His jaw is clenched, brow furrowed. He doesnât say a word.
âI knew it. I knew you were lying the second you said you âran into him.â What the fuck is wrong with you?â
You swallow hard. âI donât need this right now.â
Your brotherâs voice cuts like a blade. âWhat do you think Mom and Dad would say? Is this your way of grieving? Sleeping with him? Letting him back in? Itâs fucked. You need to stop.â
You flinch, like his words reached through the phone and hit you. âDonât do that,â you whisper. âDonât throw them at me like that.â
Heâs relentless. âThen grow the fuck up. Sign the fucking papers. Get your life together. And donât come crying to me when he fucks it all up for you again.â
You stare down at Nam Gyu, your hand still curled tight into his shirt. His eyes are locked on yours, unreadable. He doesnât ask questions. Doesnât try to fix it. He just waits.
You hang up without saying another word. The silence in the office is heavyâtense, electric, raw. You press your hands to your thighs to steady yourself. Then you look him in the eyes, and sink down on his cock in one long, slow, devastating motion.
You fuck the anger out of yourself.
Hands braced on his chest, thighs tight around your hips, you ride Nam Gyu like you own him. Because in this momentâyou do.
He looks wrecked beneath you. Face flushed, lips swollen from all the begging heâs done. Hair sticking to his temples, chest heaving. The matching bra and pany set you wore just for him is long forgottenâhis greedy hands shoved the cups down, hands full of your tits, moaning about how perfect you are.
Though now, heâs bare beneath you. Arms pinned above his head, wristed held down by your strength, though he could easily break free. His cock buried deep inside you as you ride him hard and mean. âFuckâplease, baby,â he gasps. âI missed youâI missed thisâplease, let me touchââ
âShut the fuck up,â you snap, hips grinding down, your cunt clenching just to hear the way he chokes on a moan. âYou donât get to touch unless I say.â
âY-yes maâam,â he whimpers.
You lean forward, lips brushing his ear. âYou like being used, donât you?â
His whole body twitches. âGodâyesâI fucking love it.â
Your pace grows harsher, your breath ragged as you ride him harder. You feel how close he isâhis cock throbbing, his body straining beneath you. You let go of his wrists and grab his face instead, making him look at you. âYou gonna beg for it?â
He nods fast, completely gone. âPlease let me come, pleaseâpleaseâIâll do anythingâIâll worship youââ
Youâre right on the edge too, hips slapping against his, your body shaking. And thenâthe door to the office swings open.Â
âNam Gyu, Iâve been looking for youââ The voice cuts off. She freezes in the doorway. Her. The girl from dinner. Sheâs wide-eyed, staring.
Nam Gyu doesnât even flinch. âGet the fuck out!â
âJesusâsorryâ!â she blurts, scrambling backward and slamming the door behind her.Â
Silence. Your chest heaves, your palms still splayed across his chest. Youâre still seated on his cockâhim still pulsing, twitching, begging.
You slowly start grinding again. Nam Gyu gasps like heâs dying. His hands grab your waist, desperate and clumsy. âPlease. Please donât stop. Please. Iâll do anythingâjust let me come inside youâIâll die if you stopââ
You smirk, breathless. âEmbarrassed, baby?â
He groans. âI donât care. Let them all hear. I donât care. Just donât stop.â
And you fuck him againâmerciless and slowâwatching him unravel. You ride him until heâs coming undone beneath you, moaning your name like heâs worshiping it, spilling inside you with trembling thighs and bruised lips.
You both slowly start to get dressed, the sticky heat of your bodies cooling in the aftermath. He watches you as you fix your bra and skirt, soft and reverent, like he still canât believe he got to touch you yet again.
When youâre slipping your sweater back over your head, Nam Gyu clears his throat and goes, âCan I come over tonight?â
You hesitate. âI donât know, Gyu. If you know where I live and weâŚdonât work outâŚâ
His jaw flexes, but he nods. âI get it. I do. But I wonât do anything to make you uncomfortable. I swear. Iâll leave if you tell me to. Hell. Iâll sleep on the floor if you want me to.â
Your lips twitch with a reluctant smile. âOkay.â
The drive back to your place is quiet, but not awkward. His fingers rest gently on your knee the entire ride, like heâs grounding himself just by touching you.
When you pull up to your apartment, you glance over shyly. âItâs nothing like your fancy penthouse.â
Nam Gyu lets out a quiet laugh, reaching over to tuck a strand of hair behind your ear. âI used to live on the street, baby girl. Your place is heaven to me.â
You feel your stomach twist at the nickname, the sincerity in his voice, the softness that feels too real. He follows you inside.
A Few Weeks Later
The road stretches ahead in one long, gray ribbon, the sky overcast, heavy like your chest. You sit with your legs pulled up on the passenger seat, sweatshirt sleeves bunched around your fists, the silence between you and Nam Gyu comfortableâbut weighted.
He reaches out every once in a while to rest his hand on your thigh, his thumb brushing over the fabric of your jeans in slow, absent circles. Itâs been like that for most of the rideâquiet, steady touches. No music. Just the sound of the engine, the tires on the highway, and the occasional soft murmur between you.
After a while, he glances over. âSo why are they selling the house now?â
You swallow. âMy dad got really sick. About a year ago.â
His expression shifts immediatelyâbrows pulling together, eyes flickering over you.
âHe passed away six months ago,â you say, voice quiet. âMom lasted another three months. I think she just gave up.â
Heâs quiet for a long beat. âIâm sorry,â he says finally, his voice low and serious. âI didnât know.â
You shrug, staring out the window. âItâs fine. Itâs just beenâŚa lot. Trying to get everything settled. Especially with my brother.â
Nam Gyu glances at you again. âHeâs still giving you a hard time?â
You donât answer right away. Just lean your head back against the seat and sigh. âHeâs angry. About everything. And heâs always been overprotective. So when it comes to youâŚâ
âI donât care,â Nam Gyu cuts in gently. âLet him be pissed. Iâm not letting you do this alone.â
Your glance at him, heart clenching. âYou really didnât have to come.â
He just shrugs, eyes on the road. âYeah, I did.â
By the time you arrive, your stomachâs tied in knots. The house looks the same. Like itâs been frozen in time. The overgrown bushes. The chipped mailbox. The front door with the faded welcome mat your mom refused to replace. But it doesnât feel like home anymore.
You spot your brotherâs car in the driveway, along with the lawyerâs. The realtorâs already waiting on the front porch, arms folded, clipboard in hand.
Nam Gyu parks behind them and kills the engine. He glances at you. âYou okay?â
You nod, jaw set. âLetâs just get it over with.â
You step out of the car together, and the second you and Nam Gyu walk through the front door, you hear it: âYouâve gotta be fucking kidding me.â
You turn slowly, meeting his glare. Heâs standing in the living room with the lawyer and realtor, arms crossed, jaw clenched so tight his neck veins are visible.
You sigh. âJust let me sign the papers and weâll go.â
His eyes cut to Nam Gyu. âYou brought him here? Are you serious?â
âI said drop it,â you snap, already walking past him toward the kitchen where the documents are laid out. âWeâre not doing this right now.â
Nam Gyu stays close but quiet, his posture tense. He doesnât bite backâdoesnât give your brother the satisfaction of a fight. Not yet.
You take the pen the lawyer hands you and sign your name quickly, the sound of your heartbeat thudding in your ears.
Your brother scoffs. âThis is such a joke. You always do this. You let trash back into your life and pretend like itâs love.â
You slam the pen down. âI said weâre not doing this.â
He steps forward. âWhat do you think Mom and Dad would say if they could see you now?â
You open your mouth to respondâbut Nam Gyu steps in, voice sharp and low, âHey. Thatâs enough.â
Your brotherâs gaze cuts to him with a fresh wave of hatred. And youâyour hands are trembling slightly, but your face is steel. You just pick up your copy of the signed papers, turn to the realtor, and say flatly, âWeâre done here.â
You walk out without another word. Nam Gyu follows, slamming the front door behind him. Youâre halfway to the car when the fury claws up your throat like bile. You stop short, heart pounding. Then you spin on your heel.
Nam Gyu calls your name, but youâre already storming back into the house. Your brotherâs standing in the living room with his arms crossed, smug like he won whatever argument this was supposed to be.
âStop making their death about you,â you snap, voice trembling out of anger. âYou have done nothing but make this whole process awful for me. Iâve handled everything while you sat in a different country and judged from afar.â
âOh, please,â your brother scoffs, rolling his eyes. âYou didnât even show up to the funeral. Who are you to talk about grief?â
Your breath catches. Behind you, you hear the soft click of the front door as Nam Gyu steps back inside. He doesnât say a wordâjust rests a steadying hand on your shoulder, grounding you.Â
But youâre shaking. âI hate you,â you whisper at first. Then louder, âI fucking hate you.â
Your brotherâs jaw clenches. âTake the money from the house,â you say, venom in every word, âand donât ever fucking call me again.â
Thereâs a moment of silenceâso quiet you can hear your own heartbeat. And then he laughs. Cold and cruel. âOh, I see. Gonna run off to Nam Gyu now?â he sneers. âLet him make you feel special again, right? Until you have one minor disagreement and he beats you like he did his ex?â
The world lurches sideways. Your ears ring. You blink at him, stunned. Frozen. You didnât mishear him. You couldnât have.
You feel Nam Gyu stiffen behind youâbut he doesnât move. Doesnât deny it. Doesnât say a single word. Your brother smirks. âYeah. Bet he didnât tell you that part, huh?â
Your mouth opens. But no sound comes out. The only thing you can feel is the blood roaring in your ears, and the warm, heavy pressure of Nam Gyuâs hand still steady on your shoulder.
You turn to him, jaw tight. âLetâs go.â
Nam Gyu doesnât argue. Doesnât glance back at your brother. He just follows you out of the house like a shadow.
The car ride is silent. He doesnât start the engine right away when you both climb inâjust sits there, hands limp on the wheel, staring through the windshield.
You cross your arms, sinking into the passenger seat, then say sharper than you mean to, âCan we go to the hotel, please?â
He flinches. But he turns the key. The drive is only ten minutes, but it feels like forever. No music. No words. Just the muted hum of tires on pavement and the ache of something cracking between you.
He parks. You both get out. Check-in is stiff, wordlessâhe pays, and you trial behind him to the elevator, eyes on the floor.
When you reach the room, he unlocks the door and lets you walk in first. The moment it shuts behind you, you just stand there. Motionless. The room is dim and clean and painfully quiet. It feels sterile. Temporary. A holding place for whatever happens next.
You turn to face him slowly. Nam Gyuâs already watching you. âGo ahead and ask,â he murmurs. His voice is steady, but thereâs something hollow behind itâsomething bracing for impact.
You swallow. Your throatâs dry. âIâŚdonât know if I want to hear it.â
His jaw flexes. He looks away, then back at you, eyes dark and tired. âThatâs fair.â
You stare at him for another beat, your chest rising and falling too fast. The air between you feels thick. Heavy.
âI didnât hurt her,â he finally says, voice quieter now. âNot like he thinks I did.â
Your heart knocks hard against your ribs. But you donât speak. Not yet. Because some part of you still isnât sure which version of him to believe.
You cross your arms tighter across your chest, your nails biting into your sides. âThen tell me,â you say flatly. âI guess.â
Nam Gyuâs eyes search yours for a long, tense moment, like heâs checking for how much you really want to hear it. But then he takes a slow breath and begins. âIt was bad between us. Me and her,â he explains quietly. âI was using all the time. Coke. Pills. Anything to get through the day. She wasnât much better.â
You donât interrupt. Just wait.
âWe fought constantly. Screaming, throwing shit, doors slammingâŚthe cops got called once. She said I grabbed her arm too hard. I probably did.â He shrugs, but itâs bitter, like he hates himself for even trying to sound casual. âI black out half that week. The only reason I remember any of it is because of the court transcript.â
You swallow hard.
âShe dropped the charges a month later,â he says, gaze fixed on the floor now. âSaid she exaggerated. Said she didnât want to ruin my life. But the damage was done. I did six months for possession and resisting arrest.â
You stare at him. The hotel room is quiet. The carpet beneath your feet feels like it might give out. You take one step forward. Then another. And then you shove him. Not hard. Just enough that he stumbles back one step back. He blinks at you, stunned.
âWhy,â you begin, voice cracking with fury, âdo I still fucking love you after that?â
His eyes fly to yours, wide. âWaitâŚyou whatâ?â
You shove him again. âYouâre not a good guy.â
âI know that,â he says quickly, hands open like heâs surrendering, but thereâs something desperate in his voiceâlike he wants you to hit him again, just to feel it.
So you do. Push him harder this time, until he stumbles back onto the edge of the bed, catching himself with his hands. Youâre standing over him now, your whole body trembling with rage and confusion and want.
âSo why do I love you,â you whisper, âand why do I wanna fuck you right now?â
Heâs breathing hard, looking up at you like youâre the only god heâs ever believed in. âI don't know,â he whispers. âBut pleaseâŚdo it anyway.â
Nam Gyu looks up at you like heâs already undone. You climb onto his lap without a word, straddling him, grabbing the front of his sweatshirt and dragging it up and off with a force that makes him gasp. Your nails scrape down his chest as you lean in, mouth at his jaw, biting hard.
He groansâloudâgrabbing your hips like heâs afraid youâll vanish. âI missed you,â he pants, âI missed you so fucking muchââ
âShut up.â
You crash your mouth onto his, messy and hot, all teeth and tongue. Heâs already hard beneath you, bucking up into your core like he canât help it. Your hand fumbles at his belt, yanking it open, and he moans like it physically hurts to be touched again by you.
âFuck, fuck,â he stammers, head tilting back as you reach into his briefs, wrap you fingers around him. âPlease, babyâplease, I need youââ
You tear off your shirt, your bra, and then stand up just long enough to shimmy out of your pants and panites in one frustrated motion.
âLook at you,â he whispers, nearly breathless. âAll for me?â
âWho else?â you snap.
He surges forward, mouthing hungrily at your chest, hands roaming your thighs as you push him flat on the bed and straddle him again, dragging his cock through your slick folds.
âBeg for it,â you whisper into his ear.
âPlease,â he groans instantly. âPlease ride me, baby, Iâll do anythingâneed you so badâbeen so fucking empty without you.â
You sink down in one swift, brutal motion and he chokes, hands flying to your waist like heâs trying to anchor himself. âHoly fuck! You feelâfuck you feel unreal.â He gasps.
You ride himself without rhythm at first, just fast, messy, like youâre tyring to fuck the heartbreak out of yourself. His fingers bruise into your skin, jaw slack as he watches you, completely gone.
âYouâre mine,â you growl, voice raw.
âYes,â he gasps. âYours, all yours, alwaysâfuck, donât stop, pleaseââ
You lean down, press your chest to his, fucking him deeper, harder, his name falling form your lips like a curse. Your teeth catch his bottom lip, dragging it before you kiss him again, rough and desperate.
The bed creaks. The headboard hits the wall. His breath is ragged and stuttering beneath you.
âGonna come,â he whines, completely unguarded. âFuckâplease, can I? Inside you? Please let meâŚâ
âDo it.â
He shatters with a strangled cry, clinging to you like youâre salvation. You donât stop moving, riding him through it until you come too, a tidal wave breaking as your head falls into the crook of his neck, mouth open in a silent moan.
You collapse togetherâsticky, panting, clinging.
His voice is hoarse, barely audible. âI love you. Even if you hate meâI love you.â
Youâre still catching your breath, chests pressed together and damp with sweat, when Nam Gyu murmurs, voice low against your temple, âDo you love meâŚor do you just love fucking me?â
You huff a laugh against his neck. âDo I have to only pick one?â
That makes him laughâdeep and breathless, warm in your ear. His arms wrap tight around your waist, pulling you flush against him again. The air between you settles, heavy with heat and history.
âI do love you,â you whisper eventually. âBut if you ever do anything to meâŚI will kill you. Thatâs not a threat. Itâs a promise.â
He leans back just enough to meet your eyes. Thereâs no trace of amusement left in his faceâjust the solemn curve of his mouth as he nods. âOh, trust me,â he says quietly. âI know.â
You giggle a little, even as your chest aches. You curl tighter into him, cheek resting over his heart.
Thereâs a beat of silence. Then he whispers, âIâm sorry about how today turned out.â
You nod slowly, fingers tracing the faded ink on his ribs. âIâm justâŚglad to be done with it all, I guess.â
âYeah,â he says softly. âI get it.â
You swallow thickly. âI really miss them.â
Nam Gyu doesnât say anythingâhe just strokes your spine gently with the pads of his fingers, grounding you.
âI hope they canât see how things turned out,â you admit, barely audible. âTheyâd be disappointed in my brother and me.â
He exhales. âYouâre doing your best. You loved them. Thatâs what matters.â
You blink up at the ceiling. Your throat is tight, but the tears donât come. âI donât think Iâve ever really said goodbye,â you murmur.
Nam Gyu kisses your hair, cradling you like you might slip through his arms. âThen maybe we do that tomorrow.â
You let your eyes fall shut, cheek still resting on his chest. His heartbeat thuds gently beneath your ear, slow now. Safe.
You yawn, voice muffled in his skin. âI didnât go to their funerals.â Nam Gyu doesnât say anything, just keeps rubbing your back, waiting. You swallow, then keep going. âBecause I didnât want it to be real. If I didnât see itâŚthen it wasnât real.â
He exhales through his nose, presses a kiss to the crown of your head. âI understand,â he murmurs. âThey do too.â You close your eyes tighter. âItâs okay to grieve however you need to,â he adds gently.
âI guess my way of grieving,â you whisper, âis fucking a guy whoâs no good for me.â
That makes him laughâquiet and tired, like he knows exactly much weight lives in that sentence. âIâm trying to be good for you,â he says softly.
You shift, pressing your nose to his neck. âI know, Gyu.â
The morning comes with a dim gray sky and a chill in the air. Youâre sitting on the edge of the motel bed, tugging on your hoodie, still half asleep. Nam Gyu runs a hand through his messy hair, watching you quietly.
He speaks up, voice rough with sleep. âI could take you to see them. If you want.â
You look up, startled. You hesitate, heart thudding a little faster. âIâŚI donât know,â you admit. âIâve never been. Not even once.â
Nam Gyu stands, walks over to crouch in front of you. âThen maybe itâs time.â
You stare at him for a beat, then nod slowly. âOkay. YeahâŚokay.â
The cemetery is still. Wind rustles through the trees, leaves whispering to each other like theyâre trying not to disturb the silence. You walk slowly between the rows, your fingers curled tightly into the sleeves of your hoodie, until you see their names etched in stone.
Your knees give a little when you reach them, and you let yourself sink into the grass. Itâs cool beneath you, soft and damp. Nam Gyu stays quiet, standing behind you, one of his hands resting gently on your shoulder.
You stare at the headstones. Your lips part, but nothing comes out at first. It takes a moment for your voice to steady. âHi,â you finally whisper. âIâm here.â You press your hands into your lap, knuckles white. âSorry it took me so long.â
The air is thick with things unsaid. You look at the flowers someone leftâprobably your brother. You didnât bring any. Didnât think to. You feel stupid about it.
âI didnâtâŚI didnât want it to be real,â you say. âI thought if I just kept going, youâd still be out there somewhere. I didnât want to see this. I didnât want this to be true.â
You draw in a shaky breath. Nam Gyuâs hand squeezes lightly. âI miss you both so much,â you whisper, your voice breaks a little. âI think Iâve just been pretending that Iâm fine. Like maybe if I didnât cry, I could just keep going. But Iâm not okay.â
You look up at the sky. âIâm trying. I donât know if Iâm doing anything right, but Iâm trying.â
And then, slowly, you glance over your shoulder. Nam Gyu is still there, hands in his pockets now, watching you with that same unreadable expression that somehow manages to be both calm and full of quiet affection. When your eyes meet, he just offers you a small smile. Gentle. Patient.
Thatâs all it takes.
The tears come without warningâhot, soundless, unstoppable. They roll down your cheeks like something broken, finally cracking open, something too tightly held for too long.
You turn away quickly, but Nam Gyu kneels beside you. Doesn't say anything. He just wraps an arm around you, pulling you into him, tucking your face into his chest as your shoulders shake.
Still quiet. Still safe.
You cry there, finally, in the open, in front of the only people you ever wanted to be proud of you. And Nam Gyu just holds you, steady and still, like he knows this is what you needed more than anything else.
The takeout containers are scattered across the bed, half empty and grease stained. Youâre both sitting cross legged, the TV playing something mindless in the background, the glow of it soft against the hotel room walls. Nam Gyuâs balancing a carton of noodles on his thigh, shoveling them in like he hasnât eaten in days.
You stab at a dumpling with your chopsticks and laugh when it slips out of your grasp for the third time. âOkay,â you grumble, âIâm gonna sue.â
Nam Gyu snorts. âSue who? The dumpling?â
âI donât know,â you say, popping a piece of broccoli into your mouth instead. âWhoever invented chopsticks. My hands are too sweaty for this.â
âYou want a fork, baby?â he teases, nudging your side with his elbow.
You roll your eyes, pretending to be offended. âIâm fine. Iâm strong. Iâm independent.â
âYouâre losing a war to steamed vegetables.â
You laugh, that warm, honest kind that makes your stomach flutter a little when you realize how easily he draws it out of you. You let the moment breathe, quiet and soft.
Then, Nam Gyu asks, gentle and unassuming, âHow are you feeling?â
You pause, the air in the room suddenly a little heavier. You push a noodle around your carton. âI was fine,â you say, voice light and falsely bright, âuntil you asked.â You look up at him with a shaky smile, then down again. âIâm okay. Or⌠I will be. I think.â
Nam Gyu doesnât press. He just hums quietly, finishes chewing, and reaches for one of the fortune cookies on the nightstand. He tosses one toward you, and it bounces off your chest before landing in your lap. âOpen it,â he says. âLetâs see what your fate is.â
You crack it open and read the slip aloud: âYour strength is not loud, but unshakable.â
Nam Gyu grins. âItâs true though. Youâre handling all thisâŚbetter than I ever could.â
You crumple the fortune and toss it toward the trash, missing entirely. âThanks, I think.â
He leans back on his elbows, watching you with something quieter in his gaze. âYou donât have to be okay right now. You donât have to be anything for me.â
You make a face and throw a balled up napkin at him. âOkay, stop being sappy. Iâm emotionally fragile and your tender little voice is gonna make me cry.â
Nam Gyu snickers, catching the napkin before it hits his chest. âFine, fine.â
You nudge his leg with your knee. âWhat does your fortune say?â
He breaks the cookie with a dramatic flourish, unfolds the tiny strip of paper, and squints at it. âHuh.â
âWhat?â you ask, peering at him.
He looks at you, deadpan. âSays Iâll receive the most mind blowing head tonight.â
You stare at him, horrid for half a secondâbefore you burst into laughter, clutching your stomach and nearly knocking over the soy sauce. âShut up! No, it doesnât!â
Heâs already cracking up too, shaking his head. âNah, Iâm kidding. It actually saysâŚâ He clears his voice and reads it in a mock serious voice. âA long awaited answer will arrive when you least expect it.â
You go quiet for a beat, your laughter trailing off. âThat oneâs kinda eerie,â you say.
âYeah,â Nam Gyu murmurs, folding the fortune and slipping into the takeout bag. âGuess weâll see.â
You smile faintly, then settle in beside him again, letting your fingers brush against his without holding onâjust a soft, simple connection. And for a moment, nothing hurts.
The silence stretches, warm and steady. He doesnât say anything else. Just leans his head back against the wall, eyes half-lidded.Â
Outside the city hums below you. Inside, everything is still. You think: maybe this is where the worst ends. maybe this is where something new begins.
You donât know what comes next. But for now, you stay.
