For my first day participating at the #MythicalDogsWeek by @dreadfulhounds I represented Anubis. This deity was the ancient God of the Duat or the Hereafter, one who was not only related to death but with life too. After Osiris assumed power, Anubis dedicated himself to embalming the bodies of the pharaohs, guiding them to the Necropolis, and protecting them with his life. Another of his functions was to monitor, together with Horus, the scale on which the hearts of the deceased were weighed during the Judgment of Osiris. - Ph: Onix Model/Edition/Makeup: @emiliehaunted Candle: @dark_candles_
Mercurys Sodium Tail : What is that fuzzy streak extending from Mercury? Long exposures of our Solar System’s innermost planet may reveal something unexpected: a tail. Mercury’s thin atmosphere contains small amounts of sodium that glow when excited by light from the Sun. Sunlight also liberates these molecules from Mercury’s surface and pushes them away. The yellow glow from sodium, in particular, is relatively bright. Pictured, Mercury and its sodium tail are visible in a deep image taken in late May from Italy through a filter that primarily transmits yellow light emitted by sodium. First predicted in the 1980s, Mercury’s tail was first discovered in 2001. Many tail details were revealed in multiple observations by NASA’s robotic MESSENGER spacecraft that orbited Mercury between 2011 and 2015. Tails are usually associated with comets. The tails of Comet NEOWISE are currently visible with the unaided eye in the morning sky. via NASA
Back from the Dead
Hey all! I've started this blog as a sort-of revival of my old blog @dark-n-cute that I ran about 5 years ago. I know that's a long time, but if you remember that blog then you're a real OG.
When I deleted that blog, I was going through a lot regarding my mental health, and I have deeply regret deleting it instead of archiving it, but at the time I was unsure of how to do that. Since then, I've really missed running a blog like this! So I hope to begin posting regularly here, and hopefully get right back to where we were on the old blog!
If you remember the old blog, drop a reply below, I wanna see if any of the 42k followers from the old blog remember!
