I've seen the theory of the honey blood hallucination deers representing honey, paw, and tawny. I belive that this is intact just honeys orgin story, still leaving the big questing wtf is the black stuff for later chapters, however I like to stay open minded so I'll add something to the theory
I know it's unstable but, I think the old dying brown deer would represent honey in some way and not paw.
1. The deer is dripping black stuff form it's mouth and honey is the only one with black blood
2. The fans feeding from the brown deer remind me a lot of how humans are almost addicted to honey and drinking from honeys hypothethetical udder could be symbolism for addiction
3. Again with the feeding stuff the white deer reminds me a lot of tawny almost instinctively licking the honey blood and paw instinctively going to eat the purple honey fruit
4. The deer being exhausted and dying is almost a foreseeable future with honey and paw, for example him almost using them as a trash can for rotten meat in chp 7 and his constant "honey will do it mentality
5. If I'm right with this paw attacking tawny is not that crazy especially how he's been treated tawny when she suggested to get rid of honey
Honestly this is just word a word vomit rant but I don't like the theory that tawny and honey are the 2 fawns that much, but ofc tawny is obviously the albino deer in terms of metaphors
