The first 10 days of the 24-day Challenge are the Cleanse Phase. As of today, I am on day 13 of this challenge so wanted to give a quick review of my experience during this first phase.
Thankfully, the challenge comes with a handy dandy guide as to what you are supposed to eat and when to take all the different ‘supplements’. By what you eat, I mean protein, vegetable, complex carb, etc. It took me a few days to know what I was supposed to take and when. That guide pretty much never left my side. You can just check them off as you go so you know exactly where you are at all times (unless you forget).
Honestly, I took day 1 off from work just so I could prep. That was essential for me. I figured out my meal plans, did grocery shopping, and prepped meals for the week! Meal prep is huge. I mean HUGE! I cannot stress preparation enough. It took all of the thinking out of it. I knew exactly what I was eating for each meal.
I was really nervous about the whole drinking water thing. For people who know me, I consume about 8 ounces of actual plain water a WEEK. Yes, you read that right. I tend to fill myself up with coffee, Rockstar and other caffeinated beverages. Well, it turns out, it was much easier than I expected. The first two days were a little bit of a struggle due to feeling full. But, that quickly passed and now I find myself thirsty and craving water. I never in my life would have thought I would ever be at this point.
I also thought that eating 5 times a day...3 meals and two snacks, would be really difficult. If you calculate it and feed yourself every 2.5 to 3 hours...easy peasy. I learned the importance of not skipping any of those meals as well as how to determine portion sizes.
Now, my results. After 10 full days of this challenge, I lost 5.5 pounds and 3 overall inches. While I am not yet brave enough to post pictures of my progress, I will tell you that I am only 5 feet tall and started at 118.5 pounds. After 10 days I am down to 113! Everyone keeps saying phase 2 is even better so I can’t wait to see what my final results will be. Of course, the scale results are not the only thing that is important. It’s about how you feel, how your clothes fit, etc. And, I must say, I feel AMAZING!
This is, of course, my own personal view of phase one. Results and feelings are going to be different for everyone. Since I said this would be a quick review, I will wrap it up. But, if you have any questions I would be happy to answer them.
