im so glad they finally addressed how hostile maya was being to the coterie!!! like brennan was already interpreting the danderhoof interference for them as ‘someone you thought was an ally is flying off on their own’, followed by maya saying ‘i know it’s going to be tough to explain to your coterie members why i don’t want to meet with them, but those are my terms’

and obviously it’s totally justified - like maya is absolutely playing it correctly with all the information she has!!! but it just felt so freeing for HJ and bat child to acknowledge that yeah this feels really shitty and leave, and for lavonte to be the one to come in and clear it all up was such a beautiful way to wrap up that animosity/distrust between them

it also felt so good esp bc HJ was absolutely right - in terms of actual changes to the town, lavonte is the one outright tackling the structural challenges and making moves, so no wonder talking to HJ and bat child wouldn’t move the needle on those huge systemic issues
