Sneaker Fever

If you are anything at all like me you will be much more of a girly girl than others. I am certainly not one to get around in sneakers. Even in active wear I keep sneaker wearing to a minimum. 

Until now.

Check out these adorable kicks. These are buy designer Phillipe Model. Phillipe being from France knows a thing or two about women and also about style so he designed a luxury sneaker line for the woman who hates sneakers but loves shoes. They start in the mid $200′s and are perfect for at least half the occasions you will find yourself at!

Gold Rush

I am so in love with anything gold or rose gold at the moment. And storage is a general must at any given time.

Ill put it to you that one simply can not go past the gold coated storage cubes from Target. No I am not going to pronounce it like a twat. Its target - like a dart board pretentious ones. Not like a French word that doesn't exist.

These cubes are $6! Yes you read that right. $6 and you have your hair products and your nail polish neatly stored away from plain sight.

Beauty Fix

Right now I am so incredibly in love with Nip and Fab. If you have ever had skin like mine you will make this your saviour. I still break out at my age! I don't mean horrific acne or anything but I certainly get the regular pimple here and there and while this does maintain  and certain look of youth it is eternally frustrating.

Nip and Fab are the best products to combat this that I have found in quite sometime. And the the fab part is that they are affordable! Each product is on average $30 and they are good enough to be used on their own if not in combination. If this is done I would recommend the gylcolic fix extreme night pads.

Nip and Fab can be found in Mecca cosmetic and Target stores.

So its Autumn once again. Yes yes yes. I love Autumn. But who am I kidding here! I love all the seasons. And the varying fashion that comes with each is epic.

A black tote is every girls must. Monday to Friday nine to five deserves one. So are you on a budget or can you splurge a little?!

If yes to splurge see handbag on the right.  A beautiful Michael Kors with gold buckles ($497). This is a structured and elegant bag. A dream to carry.

Those on a budget fear not. To the left we have the Collette version ($57.99). This tote isn't as structured but with the right outfit is is just as elegant.

Hooray for Hermes

Why go to work everyday if you can't splurge every now and then. Or have a luxury goal to work towards. 

My new 'goal' is an Hermes belt. If you go to the Hermes website you can look at the belt kits where you can design your own belt. You can pick the leather and then you can pick the 'H'. 

These belts start at $1030 and are to die for. Im in love and want them all. Will settle for one though :)

Pretty room of baths

I can not stress enough how important the bathroom is for ones feeling of well-being. Having said that my bathroom has not been up to scratch of late. 

I am a huge advocate of fresh flowers in the house - mainly bedside, bathroom and living room. There is something about a bunch of fresh petals that makes the room feel alive and vibrant. 

Flowers in the bathroom always make me feel fresh and happy.

Another thing to consider is the variety you can buy - some so cheap and then some a real treat to yourself. What better way to slightly change your interior once a week!

A drenching of sunlight

Winters in Perth are utterly divine. I adore them. Having grown up in the UK I can certainly attest to the fact that the summers in this neck of the woods are amazing. The sun shines everyday nearly and even when it is cold the sky is blue. Perfection.

On the days when you need an extra touch of spring splash on some Byredo Flowerhead eau de parfum. It is a delicious scent that is light and playful. Perfect for Spring in most countries but in Australia also perfect for those sunny winter days.

Never thought I would say this but Im loving flats at the moment. By flats I mean shoes. My latest obsession is the Nora Derby by Country Road coming in at $149.00 They come in dusty pink, black and grey. All patent. Im getting them all.

Winter Laptop Fashion

I am not a fan of laptop covers. I am one of those people that choose their laptops and devices very much based on the appearance so why would I cover them up....

But its winter. And dashing in and out of the rain with a 'naked' lappy is a pretty stupid thing to do.  So I bit the bullet and invested in a lap top carrier pictured. Marc for Marc Jacobs holographic gold case - $189.99 from David Jones. 

Suddenly the rain feels cool ;)

Givenchy Shoe Porn

For those of you that love shoes in any shape or form here we have a sample of perfection for you!

I remain unsure as to whether these are unisex or not and to be honest this is a time where I will not bother finding out. I think they could be and fashion is what we make it. 

The Rottweiler, the stars, the whole concept of the shoe just does it for me. Thank you Givenchy you genius. And with the little stars how apt for July the fourth.

Red, White & Blue

Ok I realise this isn't the USA but there is nothing like an excuse to get dressed up, open the bubbles and eat some good food. So July 4th is it. And that is tomorrow. Or tomoz as us Aussies would say because lets keep it real - we aren't actually American.

So here is a cute red, white and blue recipe that looks delish. 

Sold? Here’s what you need:

Ingredients: 500g angel food cake  30g box Jelly Cheesecake Fat-Free/Sugar-Free Pudding or the closest thing you can find (this is an American recipe so improvise if needs be) 1 cup unsweetened almond milk 300g container Cool Whip or fat Free Whipped Topping 1 pint fresh blueberries (2 cups) 1 pint fresh strawberries, halved (2 cups)

Instructions

Prepare angel food cake according to package directions. Set aside and let cool completely.

In a large bowl, whisk Jelly Cheesecake Fat-Free/Sugar-Free Pudding with almond milk. Mix for 2 minutes until pudding starts to thicken. Fold in Cool Whip or fat free topping into pudding mixture and combine well with a spatula. Store in fridge until ready to assemble.

Wash and drain blueberries and strawberries, thoroughly dry them off. Slice strawberries in half. Set aside.

Cube prepared angel food cake into 2cm cubes.

Feel free to layer this dish in any fashion you like! We chose to do the following: Using a trifle dish, start layering 1/2 of the angel food cake cubes in the bottom of the dish. Top with 1/2 of the pudding mixture (I used a plastic bag with the corner cut off to pipe pudding mixture on top of the cake cubes). Followed by 1/2 of the blueberries and 1/2 of the strawberries. Repeat layering with the remaining angel food cake cubes then the remaining pudding mixture. In a design of your choice, top the trifle with the remaining blueberries and strawberries.

Its raining, its pouring

Today I woke up to torrential rainfall. Which I love. Except when one has to get up and attempt to run and/or get from A to B sans car. There really is nothing less fun than damp clothing and frizzy hair. 

How does one make this ordeal more bearable? I say buy an umbrella that you love as much as one of your handbags!!

The two I recommend are Oroton and Burberry. The Oroton umbrella costs around the $60 mark so affordable. The Burberry however starts at $250 and head up to $600 depending on the size and style. 

Im not one to discriminate due to price so I say if you are going to do something just do it well ;)

Winter weight - summer cover-ups

Yeah its winter. And f%$# its cold. This is coming from someone who detests the cold complaints but facts are facts - its bloody cold.

So you take a trip to Thailand, Vietnam, Bora Bora - anywhere that you dont need an electric blanket and has a tendency to make you need ice cold cocktails. 

But wait - the shame of it - you have a very little muffin top. Those winter comfort meals served a purpose at the time but now look at whats happened. With still four months until the 'real' bikini season this seems unfair.

So what better way to lounge about the pool than in a sexy little cover up. Im not talking a bulky rip curl-esk type tshirts or horrendous board shorts. We are talking about a 1kg weigh gain here - nothing else so a nice little linen or silk number should do the trick.

Skin Food

Now that the summer is in full swing it is important to not only keep your skin cancer free but it important to keep it hydrated. Even the most diligent shade dwellers can suffer from this heat. 

A couple of brands that I like are Kora Organics - Miranda Kerrs product child and Body Shop Body Butter. Kora is a little more expensive but organic so you get what you pay for there. The Body Shop is known for its love of fragrance and non of the Body Shops body butters disappoint.

Cool Summer..

It is really summer now. I mean really really summer. How I love this weather. Balmy evenings, warm mornings. An excuse to pretend we are in Spain and have a siesta..

Here in sunny Perth we daily feel the need to 'cool down'. So how are you going to do that?

This is how I am going to do it. With a home made icy pole (pineapple juice with strawberry pieces are my fav) and a magazine in the garden.

I love such simplicty.

Comfortable Style

In the last year I have really embraced the concept of flat shoes. It was a tough transition. For so many years I really couldn't handle the idea of anything less that at least a pointy pump. The heel seemed necessary. So now I am having fun finding an array of flat shoes.

But lets face it, its just an excuse to expand my shoe collection. I am sure that next year I am sure I will realise the necessity of boots…...
