I've had no luck so far with identification guides. Anyone know this guy?? I saw him travelling on Monday along the strait of Georgia. We were travelling east between lasqueti island and French creek. The only identifier I managed to see was his dorsal fin.
All around the internet I’ve seen very agitate reactions to the VanAq bit. I could understand the sentiment if the place was a long-blameless bastion of cetacean rescue, but if you look into things… it’s really not. Activists don’t want cetaceans to die, they want the nonsense to stop. Of course, the Aquarium only has rescues right now, sure. Because all the other animals are dead or away on breeding loans.
Exposure to parasites, pathogens, and pollution are the likely reasons why two wild dolphin populations were found to be sicker than two...
And the takeaway should 100% be “let’s clean up the environment and stop polluting the shit out of it” not “we need more captive dolphins.”

Drone footage of a Basking shark in clear Scottish waters
The moment a mother and baby whale and a mother and baby dolphin meet has been caught on camera off the east coast of Australia. In the clip, which was filmed in early October, two humpback whales can be seen swimming near the surface behind the two dolphins. The whales seem fascinated by the smaller mammals, but the dolphins do not appear phased by their new company. ( source )
