Ever notice when Second Amendment Patriots rationalize their arguments as to why firearms, especially ones that are intended to inflict a large amount of damage in a short amount of time, should be available for civilians to purchase and use with virtually zero restraint or restriction for “home defense” almost always do one of two things:

Because they’re the end-all-be-all on firearms laws in America, and most Americans who identify with the Republican party and the Libertarian party (along with Anarchists of many flavors) view their presence as unwarranted. Their mission is essentially to persecute victimless crimes (ex: Moonshining, growing tobacco w/o a permit, or owning a rifle with a barrel shorter than 16″ w/o a permit). I’ll probably catch heat for this; but the ATF shouldn’t exist and everything short of the NFA itself is product of fear mongering in the United States congress.

It’s not about foregrips, holding your arm further out is more stabile and allows faster transition between targets.

No swinging the mass forward of the mag well is easier when you have your hand on it. That’s literally how it works. It doesn’t make mag changes “easier”. You might be slightly faster (tenths of a second) only because your hand is placed further back, but that’s also a training deficiency if you can’t reload quickly with proper hand placement. And I wasn’t advocating foregrips, I only use them when I’m running a barrel shorter than 14.5" but I’m advocating holding the fore end or rail.

Having your hand out further means there is literally less rotational inertia beyond your hands control so yes in terms of physics, target transition is better holding the forend, which is why handguards exist....

Quick note...

If you have no respect for police or wish any ill will towards them, do me a solid and unfollow me. There are bad apples in every profession, race, religion, culture, gender, etc. Letting the negative actions of a few dictate a hatred towards a group of people is called stereotyping and for the most part, the men and women of the police force go out there day after day with the simple goal of protecting us all. In no way am I defending the actions of some of these events of police brutality, all I’m asking is for you to not let a few bad apples promote your hatred towards an entire group of people. This goes for all groups of people, not just cops.

Lots states have anti milita  laws in the first place, so even if the right to keep and bear arms was dependent on participation in a milita, there are total bans on forming milita and participating in milita training, in direct violation of the second amendment.

Yeah, it’s fairly common on handguns for the barrel to move during operation.

By arguing on the basis of 'mass shootings' you know they aren't talking seriously about reducing gun violence since even in America were they happen 'all the time' they represent an infinitesimal amount of gun violence. It is in fact also true Australia had so little gun violence before their gun control that even if their gun violence had gone down by some substantial factor, it would have had very little effect on overall violent crime.
