Reduce Government Payroll
Congressional Leadership take notice.
There is now a larger Federal Employment number than a private
sector employment number and private sector taxing will
not be able to support this group. You can look at many cities
and states and see the writing on the wall. The overhead from
lucrative, unaffordable salaries, health benefits, and pensions
cannot be supported. Check out Greece and many other
countries that have transferred personal responsibility of
Government workers to the private sector. Financial implosion
is the outcome. This trend must be stopped.
The reality of the strength of S E I U will be seen when serious
steps are taken to reduce their generous benefits and they are
asked to accept personal responsibility. i.e. Wisconsin budget
management. The future will see a time when “The Union”protests and walks off the job. The U.S. Government will grind to a halt which will ripple effect to all the private business that cannot function anymore without Federal Permission or oversight.
A policy should be considered which requires aggressive attrition rules in all Federal Departments which restrict re-hires to replace retired workers.
A policy to reduce the size of Federal Departments should begin by requiring each Federal Department to reduce staff by at least 5%.
Oversight by Congress of rules mandated by Agencies should be instituted. The populace of the United States are being overwhelmed with rules from many Federal Agencies and there non-elected representatives who feel compelled to be the “know-it-all” for society. Just look at the Affordable Care Act and the proliferation of rules from H.H.S. and I.R.S. The previous may seem off topic, but consider that all those “knows-it-all” people at a Federal Level are unconstitutional as the Founders envisioned the scope of the
Federal Government. States Rights need to be protected. In the vain of protecting States Rights and reducing the size of Federal Employment, the Education Department is overreaching, the E.P.A. Is overreaching, the Agricultural Department is too intrusive,etc..
Government waste and cost of implementation of policy is well
known and has been largely ignored. The solution to most
acknowledgment of poor results is to throw more money at the
problem rather than admit the original intent of the policy was
poorly conceived and unmanageable at a Federal level. War on Poverty, war on Drugs, poorly educated children, malnutrition,etc.
S E I U rules and Congress does not acknowledge the problem and merely tries to find ways to fund it as if all the people within the Union are necessary to a viable Country.
Privatize the T.S.A. It was a mistake to Federalize airport security
and this responsibility should be redirected to the Airlines and the
Airports. Why would you think the Federal Government has more
reasons for safety of the public than the businesses which
profit from the best customer experience? Private companies with
the support of Federal Knowledge on world threats would function
more efficiently, with direct results of both satisfying the customer and neutralizing the threat of attack. This change in security would make it much easier to get competitive bidding from companies interested in providing secure travel at minimum disruption. The security would be provided to the airport and airlines and would be structured to fit each specific issue at each specific location rather than the “one-size-fits-all” Government security solution.
Bottom line, reduce the size of the Federal Government workforce before it overwhelms the budget.
