My page is called “Crowning Glory-The Hair Diaries” simply because our hair is our crown of beauty and glory. We have received such a bad rep as black women we we don’t believe that we carry crowns because of our texture. Our hair is absolutely beautiful and there is always an opportunity to adorn this beauty with health and beautiful accessories.

I added this beautiful wired flower crown to execute this perfect queenly look. I also added a piece of recycled weave to create a “faux bun” similar to the texture that I was working with in the front sections of my hair.

It’s winter in Cape Town (the mother city).Despite the winter conditions, I have summer in my heart.This is a throwback to a wonderful picnic I had on the beach last year..I love this amazing Bantu knot twist out I am rocking with the perfection of the flower crown and a red lip.

The Journey of my hair growth has been phenomenal...From a chiskop to a mini afro,I have enjoyed the journey completely and am still getting into my personal regime. My advice to anyone who is interested in growing their hair to the best of it’s ability would be to leave it in it’s natural form, give it lots of TLC according to your product choice and then speak words of growth over it, faith filled words,do not curse your hair (I know this last section seems super weird,however it works.)

Simplicity

So in december (the festive season is pretty huge in South Africa) I met a pop of colour and an energetic ball in the form of a dynamic singer and songwriter who goes by the stage name of Elo_Zar .The first thing that stood out about her (as a hair blogger,I would notice this ) would have to be her candy floss pink hair. I thought I was daring sporting Ice white braids during the festive season but she was just next level. I soon realised that this hair was more than just supporting her brand as Elo_Zar,but it was actually a representation of her personality; radiant,bright,cheerful and loud. I later followed up on her and realised that when she is not rocking her bright pink hair,she is sporting a head wrap or “doek” as it is fondly known in South Africa.
