i think completely pre transition trans people should be able to wear one tiny little pronoun pin and get gendered correctly every time. i think cis people should be transitioning just for the fun of it if they want to. i think you should be able to walk into any pharmacy and just buy hrt. i think that little boys should be able to sit in circles and play with dolls and paint each other's nails and make friendship bracelets. i think that little girls should be able to play with flaming monster trucks and play football and get competitive over video games. i think that arson (he/it/paw) should have paw's identity respected and treated as completely normal. i think that we should normalize neopronouns and weird genders and being weird or unusual in general. you should be able to explain your weird one of a kind xenogender to the least queer person on the planet and they should say "oh that's cool!! haven't heard of that gender before". you should be able to wear a tail in public you should be able to make out with your computer if you want i don't fucking care. i love transgenders i love neurodivergent people i love furries i love everyone outside the norm i love freaks i love nerds i love everyone.

She used to apprentice as a blacksmith / metal‑worker, forging blades, tools, and repairing metal gear. The outbreak hit while she was working in a small forge
Her past was rough- maybe involved in gritty or criminal‑adjacent work (like shady deals or metal‑salvage thefts) before things fell apart. That background kept her sharp, street‑wise, and not trusting easily
She’s highly skilled at sword‑fighting and melee combat thanks to her smithing practice- able to maintain, sharpen, and even craft / repair blades. Her sword is her go‑to weapon
She’s the group’s weapon‑smith and armorer. When others loot guns or fragile weapons, she prefers durable, maintainable melee gear that doesn’t run out of ammo
Waterboy (Herman)
Waterboy is a nickname given pretty quickly to Herman, because before the outbreak he was a janitor and apprenticing as a plumber, so he ends up being the only person who can fix broken pipes in safehouses
Waterboy is terrified of guns, so he carries a heavy metal mop handle as his main weapon, wrapped in duct tape where it’s cracked
Waterboy refuses to leave any hideout messy, even in an apocalypse; it’s partly coping mechanism, partly instinct. His cleaning reduces infection risk, but he thinks it’s “nothing big.”
During a rainy scavenging mission, Waterboy rigs a broken gutter to fill multiple buckets simultaneously, turning a random roof into a temporary water farm
He uses colored zip-ties (taken from his janitor cart) to mark safe paths through buildings- an easy visual language the whole group adopts
Invisigal (Courtney)
Her nickname “Invisigal” starts as a joke, because she is the loudest person in camp but somehow always disappears the moment zombies show up

Alternatively, she was a night-shift warehouse worker, used to navigating dim aisles and avoiding supervisors- her agility and stealth came naturally

Robert Robertson III
Carries a tool-belt / backpack loaded with mechanical tools, scrap metal, wire, duct tape, makeshift lock-picks
Keeps a small notebook / journal with building schematics, scavenging logs, safehouse maps- he’s the group’s planner and record-keeper
He used to be a mechanic before the outbreak, so he's skilled in improvised mechanics and engineering- he can fix generators, patch walls, reroute electricity, rig traps, salvage broken tech for use
Has a multi-purpose metal pipe or crowbar as his primary weapon- not flashy like Invisigal's, but reliable in close quarters
Prism (Alice)
“Prism” was originally her stage name- she used to be a small-but-growing pop singer before the outbreak
She keeps an old pair of sunglasses (or a visor) from her pop-star days, it helps shield her eyes from dust or zombie guts
She’s surprisingly good at finding alternate routes, backstage corridors, roof access, maintenance ladders, dressing-room vents
Has a performer’s ability to read crowds, which in the apocalypse becomes a talent for reading hostile survivor groups
Has an instinctive sense for acoustics from spending years around sound tech; she knows when a hallway echoes too much or when a room is dangerous
Uses a reinforced microphone stand as her main weapon- blunt, sturdy, and she calls it “The Mic Drop.”
Flambae
His nickname “Flambae” comes from that first dramatic moment the other survivors met him: he used a makeshift flamethrower to burn back a group of hostile scavengers- scary, loud, and unmistakable. The name stuck.
He’s handy with flame: using a makeshift flamethrower, molotov‑style incendiaries, or flare‑guns to clear hordes, destroy barricades, or flush out hidden threats
He’s good at cooking and preparing meals for survivors, he can make a can of beans seem like a five course meal
His reputation as “the guy with fire” acts as deterrent vs. hostile human survivors or looters: sometimes being feared keeps conflict from ever starting
Golem (Bruno)
“Golem” comes from his massive size and broad, sturdy build, people joke he’s made of stone or concrete
Given his massive build and resilience, he’s the one entering unstable buildings, collapsed ruins, or hazardous areas where most others won’t go- salvaging resources, finding survivors, or creating safe paths
Uses heavy, simple weapons like a sledgehammer, brute force over finesse
Before the outbreak, he worked in construction, moving equipment, or warehouse jobs, which explains his strength and survival know‑how
Punch Up (Colm)
Before the outbreak, he was a carnival strongman / underground brawler- used to fights, heavy drinking, and street‑level violence
Uses brass knuckles as primary weapon; an excellent for quiet, short‑range fights (zombies, raiders) where gunfire isn’t possible or safe
Carries a small, sturdy backpack with essentials: a collapsible crowbar or pipe for crowded spaces, a makeshift club or bat for backup, spare gloves, bandages, etc
Keeps a pair of fingerless leather gloves under his coat: easier grip, reduces noise, better control when punching or climbing through ruins
Coupe (Janelle)
Coupé now goes by her code‑name only. Before everything fell apart, she was a fighter pilot- trained for precision, discipline, quick reflexes, and danger. The apocalypse didn’t strip her of those instincts
Throwing‑knife expert. She has uncanny accuracy and is able to hit a zombie or human target’s weak point from distance. "Guns are noisy; knives are silent" she says
As a pilot she was used to maintenance, tools, quick repairs; in apocalypse, she repurposes scraps: fashioning blade‑holders, makeshift armor from seat‑belts or metal shards, rigging silent traps or alarms
She carries her knives with her at all times, no matter what
Phenomaman
Phenomaman grew up in an Amish community, so he’s strong, self-reliant, and hardworking, but a bit out of touch with modern technology and urban life
He still favors simple tools and practical solutions over gadgets or electronics
Before the outbreak, he was known for his physical strength and endurance, often helping with farm work, building projects, and heavy labor- skills that translate perfectly to lifting debris, reinforcing barricades, or carrying injured survivors
His Amish upbringing makes him quiet, polite, and respectful, which can be jarring to more brash or chaotic survivors. People often misinterpret his manners as naivety, but he’s thoughtful and observant
Because he’s a bit out of touch with modern society, he sometimes misunderstands slang, urban customs, or contemporary technology, leading to awkward but endearing moments with the group
His primary weapon is a reinforced shovel
Blonde Blazer (Mandy)
Before society fell apart, she was the boss of a business, giving her experience in management, logistics, and organizing people- skills she now uses to coordinate survivor camps, ration supplies, and plan safe excursions
She was an avid martial arts hobbist before society fell
Her martial arts background gives her precision, agility, and control in combat; she can handle hand-to-hand confrontations, fend off zombies at close range, or subdue hostile humans with skill rather than brute force
She uses a metal baton or a staff, depending on the range needed
