– Well, of course Zack was out and walking around on a day like today. It was gorgeous out! And he was definitely going to sap up the sights of a place so utterly green and not-so-dead like his home planet was while he could. There was no doubt about that.
It was pretty surprising how far his nature walk had taken him by now. Wasn’t he near the hospital or something like that? He wasn’t sure. He had been here a good while, but hadn’t exactly memorized the layout of the isle yet.
It was honestly rather uplifting. Seeing nothing but a sea of green and plant life, hearing the sound of grass, small flowers and weeds be crunched over his SOLDIER-grade boots…
The atmosphere made his heart soar and brought his spirits up by a noticeable amount… but the attachment to the nature around him was broken by the sight of a black silhouette just a ways in front of him.
It… looked familiar. Was that… that hedgehog he had made friends with on that island vacation a little ways back? What was his name again…?
… Ah, right! He raised up a hand and waved at the hedgehog with a smile on his face.
Once he was sure he had gotten the mobian’s attention, Zack sprinted to close the distance between them. The black of the silhouette… remaining black. And Sonic’s quills looked… different the last time they met… did he change his quilldo every day? Zack caught the red stripes on the hedgehog’s spines and his red eyes and…
Oops. Well, too late to turn back now. Good job, Zack…
He finished his sprint, standing just in front of the hedgehog he had yet to meet properly, breathing in deep to get a headstart on catching his breath.
“So… Sorry about that.” He laughed out. “You look like a guy I know.”
“I’m guessing you guys know each other? You two kinda look alike.”
Questions still had obliterated the hedgehog’s mind as he still was unsure as to what he was doing exactly on this island. He had met a few individuals for answers, but it lead to nothing for him. Perhaps he was just destined to remain on this island for good? Who knows. Those answers still remained clueless for the poor hedgehog, now just remaining to aimlessly wander about the island.
He watched as birds fluttered on by, chirping in the blazing sun and listened carefully to the gushes of the wind. It was a very nice breeze, at that. Shadow was always one to lurk within metal containers of dark buildings, out in the night or perhaps in the depths of space, but being in nature definitely had its advantages and was a lot more different. Although Shadow didn’t exactly take well to change, he was still accepting it, regardless. He had no choice to in the matter, really.
However, someone had shouted out a name. He knew it wasn’t his name but he still turned his head to see who it was. A human? He hadn’t really communicated with humans often, or at least that in a very long long time. He watched as the human ran up to him and caught his breath. His red orbs narrowed towards the happy male, still not really recognising him. Was he meant to?
A guy he knew? Who was he talking about? Was it the Professor? Was it the Doctor? Maria?
“... Who are you talking about?”
