Champion Thalia (17, she/her) and Rotom (he/ze/they/it)! [Pokemon RP blog, follows from @krisiverse.] [Header is a Naganadel drawn resting on a pet bed. Icon is official trading card art of an Arcanine, illustrated by kodama and scanned by @poketcg-art.]
Alola everyone! My name's Thalia and I'm the first ever standing champion of the Alola region. One of my friends introduced me to Rotumblr, and I've really been enjoying it here so far! Go check them out at @wyrmwiind if you get the chance, they know a whole lot about dragon types and other Pokemon from around the world.
I have a variety of battling Pokemon, including my starter Decidueye and two non-battling service Pokemon, Arcanine and Rotom. I'm legally blind and they both help me navigate, and Rotom also helps with grammar-checking my typing and reading signs and stuff for me.
Rotom posts here too sometimes and if he does, he'll mark it by putting this emoji at the start of messages: ⚡!

About
this is an in-character roleplay blog for my oc thalia! she is based off my playthroughs of pokemon sun and ultra sun, and her "canon" is a mixture between the two.
thalia is legally blind and fully night-blind; that is, she has a little remaining light vision, but cannot see in the dark at all. she's partly based on my own experiences being visually impaired, but my vision loss isn't as severe as hers is, so i'm always open to hearing how i can represent her better!
to the best of my ability, this entire blog will be screenreader-friendly.

Back in the day, people would use Pupitar shell shedding as insulation for armor and ballistics padding.
Now a days scientists have made a more syenthic and more affordable version, but they also found that Tyranitar have some of the best armor placement of a pokemon design. Between them, Aggron and Haxorous, their designs help design both crash, safety, sports, and on the rare occasion, battle armor.
(@champion-thalia) Hi I'm really interested in what you've been saying about mystery dungeons! They sound kind of scary but really interesting either way, did you spend very much time in them in your world? Do you think there's some reason there aren't any here?
Hiya!
I spent quite a lot of time in them in my world! Pretty much everyone does! They're the quickest way to get to places unless you want to take extremely long and winding paths around them.
I have no idea why they're not here in the human world!
That makes sense, I guess if it's something everyone's used to then they wouldn't bother avoiding it or it might be more trouble to avoid them than to just go through. I wonder if there's any way I could visit and see what they're like..
I used to be really embarrassed about getting stuck in the megamart for that long. But I realized it's like a ritual of passage for every kid trainer to get lost somewhere for a really stupid reason, and now it's just really funny

Why did nobody tell me using Latias would get me disqualified! She just wanted to participate in the contest! I even wore a special dress for her and everything. And I hate dresses.
Wait but why would using legendaries be grounds for disqualification in a contest? I thought it was supposed to be all about coordination and style and just being more powerful doesn't help you on that front. Unless you're literally causing damage to the venue, I don't see what the issue would be? It's not an unfair advantage when you're not battling..
