Chan's heart breaks at your expression and he wraps his strong arms around you shoulders as you bury your face into his chest, crying into the soft material of his shirt. He smells the way he always does, of cloves and vanilla and home, and your heart clenches painfully at the realisation that your finally in his arms. Your day had been awful, school becoming a suffocating prison like enclosure that held you and the other students captive. Not to mention that particular group of boys, always trailing around you, making you uncomfortable. But this time, this time, they went too far. They did something despicable, and your anxiety has shot through the roof. Mumbling something about being grateful that Chan is your best friend, you clutch him tighter, his veined hands gently running through your frazzled hair. But unbeknown to you, Chan's face contorts with inner pain at your words. He's in love with you, with your soul, and always has been, but he's hidden it well. The pain of loving you more than friends hurts him more and more with each passing day, but he clenches his teeth, not giving anything away. Instead he tightens his hold on you, his chin on your head as be softly rocks you to calm you down. Inwardly, he sighs. Maybe now is not the time to confess his annoying feelings.
