Puritanism and Purity Culture are not the same thing and I don’t know how y’all got the two confused.

Purity Culture was supposed to meant misogynistic experiences in the Christian sphere, and was a term mainly used by ex Christians.

Puritanism is a religious movement from the late 16th and 17th centuries, that aren’t as “purity centric” as people thought they were.

Calling someone “Puritan” these days is like being called a “Witch” in the 1600s. The action never changes, only the words.
