@chaotic-diabetic
you don’t look diabetic…
and you don’t look stupid, but here we are
We can’t rage bolus our way out of this one, boys.
Me, an insulin pump haver, when I see a character who has medical tech parts:
As a type 1 diabetic it is so strange to go on a little walk without my Bag O' Food. I feel naked. There is no familiar weight on my shoulders and i can feel the wind on my back, how strange. It feels dangerous but oh does it feel good to run free. I am an untethered astronaut!
Having type 1 diabetes with an insulin pump is like playing with a Tamagochi but you're the pet
Me: I will not over correct again
Me when the low bloodsugar bad feeling hasn't gone away in five minutes: It's not working I need to eat more sugar
Me later: Why am I 300
if youre ever going low but think "hmm i'm too lazy to go eat something maybe it'll go away in a couple minutes" dont listen. thats the devil talking
Sometimes though… It does fix itself if I close my eyes, wish hard enough, and fall back asleep.
Shh, that's devil talk.
fun things to call your fast acting insulin shot that will sometimes make your mom mad:
• shooting up
• pregaming
• daily dose of dr banting’s juice
• coming down from a high
• doing my bastard son’s work (pancreas)
this illness is hard to take seriously sometimes like “oh i gotta eat these peeps so i don’t die” like what the fuck is that!!?
Fate thought it was pretty funny making me, who hates math, a diabetic
Yesterday I felt thirsty, so I checked my cgm and my blood sugar was fine and I was so confused that I had to double check with my meter.
I then realized that I don’t associate feeling thirstiy with needing water, I associate it with needing insulin.
Diabetes is wild.
non-diabetics will never know the glory and satisfaction of guessing the correct dose for pizza
It turns out that sometimes going into your medical appointments and simply admitting that you’re a complete mess both medically and emotionally is actually the best policy.
Nice blood sugar levels you have here, be a shame if something were to… happen to it.
