Bringing the boi meme into a game of four square
hell world
What a concept
I am mentally ill,, why does no one talk about them like hello???
jfk and ponce nation where are you
When you want dad to notice you but you also hate his guts.
I can see.
Bella turns to stare at the rest of her family. âYouâve never gotten Carlisle a fatherâs day card?â âNot exactly something high on our priorities Bells.â Emmett shrugs and looks to the rest of them who nod. Rosalie sits next to him and smiles. âWe should, I think itâd be sweet.â
âHow much are we betting he cries?â Edward raises an eyebrow as Jasper laughs. âIf we could cry Iâd bet at least ten he would.â Alice smiles. âYou guys have fun getting cards, youâve only missed what? At least a hundred fatherâs days.â Emmett and Edward frown. âWeâre going to need a bigger shop than the post office arenât we.â Rosalie grabs her car keys. âLetâs go. We can do the calculations on the way up.â
Jasper sighs chewing his lip as he repeats himself. âWell since Alice and I didnât meet up with you since the fifties weâd only have to get, sixty cards, one for each year. Which is one hundred and twenty total, Rosalie and Emmett would have to get seventy-seven and seventy-five respectively so thatâs two hundred and seventy two, plus, oh god Edward you have to get ninety-two cards bring up our total to three hundred and sixty-four, should we round up to three hundred seventy just in case?â âIf they even have that many cards.â Alice smiles at him. Rosalie laughs. âI sure hope they do.âÂ
The group stands nervously hunched over the half section of fatherâs day cards. âNot many left.â âWell it is tomorrow, so weâre asking for a bit much.â Alice turns to a worker whoâs wandered down the isle. âCan I help you?â âWe need three hundred and seventy fatherâs day cards.â Emmett nods to the woman. Rosalie rolls her eyes and steps forward. âWe work with a hospital charity, itâs for-â âThatâs so sweet, Iâll check in the back.â She moves off and the group breathes a sigh of relief.
She returns with two boxes on a cart and hands them over. âEach one of those has about two-hundred cards in it, so that should be enough. Now itâll be one thousand sixty two dollars and fifteen cents. Card?â She smiles as Edward hands over his. Theyâre halfway back to Forks when Alice asks if they have envelopes and Rosalie slams the breaks on and swerves to the side of the road ripping one of the boxes open to reveal each card has a matching envelope tucked in the plastic wrapping.
âOh theyâre all the same. I was hoping theyâd be different.â âIf you want to go back and pick out three hundred and seventy different fatherâs day cards you can walk back.â Emmett laughs under his breath and they all wait in the car as Alice goes in to make sure theyâre in the clear. âAlright weâll divide up the cards and everyone can sign their own.â âWe have to sign them?â âOf course we do, itâd be rude not to.â Rosalie hands each of them a pen. Emmett scowls. âWhat am I supposed to write on it? I mean heâs not really our dad.â âEmmett you donât have to write anything besides your name if you donât want.âÂ
Alice grabs her stack and retreats to her room. Edward vanishes warning them that Carlisle will be home from work soon. Rosalie and Emmett spread out their cards on the kitchen table sitting on opposite sides. Jasper retreats to his room after explaining to Esme what theyâre doing. She swears she wonât tell and promises to alert them when Carlisle comes home.
âRosalie is it okay for me to say âthanks for not letting me die from a bear attack?â or would that be too inappropriate?â âI donât think it is, I told him thanks for giving me a second chance, after I was left for dead. Iâm sure everyone else is doing the same.â She shrugs and tenses as she hears his car pull up. Esme appears in the doorway smirking. âBetter hide that kids, or dad will find out.â Rosalie rolls her eyes but smiles as she tucks the cards under her English homework. Emmett panics shoving them into his backpack as Carlisle walks in. âHow was school?â âGood. English was boring as usual, weâve moved onto essayâs now.â Rosalie holds up her notebook. âReally?â Emmett shrinks at his voice as it veers into a disappointed chide. âBecause the office called, saying all of youâ He raises his voice slightly. Alice and Jasper appear heads sunk on the stairs.Â
âSkipped after lunch. I understand itâs boring but please try to act like you care about school. You remember what happened when you had to repeat senior year.â âWhich time?â Edward laughs as he makes his way down the stairs. Carlisle claps his hands together. âHow about a hunt! Charlie invited us to spend tomorrow at his place; apparently Sue and Bella arranged a fatherâs day party. Isnât that sweet.â He turns towards the door gesturing as Esme stands next to him. âCome on, we wonât be able to hunt tomorrow. Besides itâs been a while since we had a family hunt.â
The hunt ends quickly and soon enough everyone retire to his or her rooms. Emmett ignores the bed in favor of finishing writing his cards. Rosalie manages to coax him to stop insisting he can put them in envelopes tomorrow. Esme gives them the all clear as Carlisle leaves for work. Emmett rushes over to the table bringing out the envelopes and carefully keeping them separate as he starts to sign the ones heâs stuffed. âEmmett seriously? You didnât put them in last night?â âI had to make sure I wrote in each one, and then Rosalie distracted me so I couldnât finish. Well couldnât finish the envelopes.â He winks and nudges Rosalie who kisses his cheek and helps him stuff the remaining envelopes. âTheyâre all done! When will he be back?â âIn six hours.â Emmett scowls fixing his stack so the corners line up.
Carlisle arrives back to the house to a suspicious amount of quiet. As he steps into his home Esme kisses him on the cheek taking his coat off and handing him a small box. He smiles fondly at the tie, returning her kiss but pausing when he hears strained voices. âShould we have gotten a present?â Rosalieâs voice piques his curiosity as he moves towards the dinning room. Alice and Jasper shoving cards into his face obscure his vision. âHappy fathers day!â he smiles holding a pile of cards. âThese are from jasper and I.â Alice beams. âThis is really sweet.â âWait what are those?â he gestures to the stacks of cards on the table. âWell those are from Edward and Rosalie, and Emmett.â Alice points to each stack. âOne for each year.â Edward smiles as he picks his stack up and holds it out towards him. Carlisle swallow nodding. âThank you.â
âRead mine first!â Emmett shoves his forward excitedly. âHeâs not going to read âhappy fatherâs dayâ seventy-five times just for you.â Emmett looks confused. âI only wrote that for one of them, I wrote different things for each one, thatâs what youâre supposed to do right?â Rosalie nods. âWell yes, but we all had to write at least sixty things, thatâs a lot.â âBut it was easy? I could fill up at least fifty more with things dadâs done that I appreciate.â âIâll be sure to read them when I get the chance, now we have a party to get ready for.â As they separate Carlisle sighs and peels open Emmettâs first envelope. -Thanks for seeing something in me worth saving- He sets the card on the table, opening the second one. -Thanks for teaching me how to properly play baseball. - He sighs laughing at the memory before opening the third. -Thanks for not laughing at me when I started crying when you bought me new clothes. - Carlisle turns to Esme who plucks up the three opened cards. Carlisle hands her forth when he finishes reading. -Thanks for making sure I knew I was always welcome with you. - Carlisle looks at the rest of the stack sighing and pushing them away as Rosalie walks in. âThe bottom one is the one he spent the longest on. Iâd read that one if I were you.â Carlisle pulls the last card free and rips the envelope open. -Thank you for always being willing to teach me more about myself than I have ever known. I truly love and thank you for that dad. Having your admiration and support means everything to me. Thank you, from my non-beating heart, for everything youâve done and helped me do Carlisle. I will never forget it. âLove Emmett. Carlisle sighs tucking the card against his chest before tucking it into his work case. He places the unopened letters in a pile and turns to Esme who smiles. âIt was their idea by the way, no prompting from anyone.â
