The bar was near empty save for herself, the bartender, a few wasted scavengers, and this arsehole. With a quick flick of a dirty fingernail she removed some crumbs from the rusty counter. The radio continued to crackle and croon another Pre War tune. Not as if there was anything new to listen to anyway, apart from the occasional interruption of some irritating DJ. 

Sitting not far from her, he must have caught onto the accent when she ordered another beer. Another tiresome question, and perhaps another tiresome joke about being Irish.

“If ya most know, I’m just a girl from another country tryin’ to make a few caps.” The fighter gave the stranger a once over. “What about you?”
