My dear lgbt+ kids,
2020 is only three months old and it feels like so many bad things have already happened - so I want to remind you of a few great things that happened!
January:
- Northern Ireland legalized same-sex marriage
- New Hampshire driver’s licenses now explicitly include an “X” option.
February:
- Gay couples in Croatia are now allowed to foster kids
- In Israel, a change of gender on a passport no longer requires surgery
- The Supreme Court of Israel also ruled the current surrogacy law (which denies access to surrogacy for same-sex couples) unconstitutional
March:
- Whasington removed the “gay panic defence” as a defence for committing a crime, meaning people can no longer use someone’s gender identity or sexual orientation as a defence for murdering them
- Virginia banned conversion therapy for minors
With all my love,
Your Tumblr Dad

Me starting WS with expectations for snowbaz
I saw your review on carry on and YES. I’m seeing all these negative reviews but I liked it. It wasn’t straight into everything’s fine cause it’s not and I liked seeing a development
Thank you!!
I can (sort of) understand the negative reviews. Because Carry On was so lovely and there was so much sappy romance–honestly, even when they hated each other all Baz and Simon could do was talk about each other’s eyes or hair or whatever. It was ridiculous and perfect. And that’s what so many people fell in love with, so that’s what they expected to find again. And they were sad or disappointed when they didn’t.
But.
At the end of Carry On was this huge thing, and our boys really need to go through the aftermath of that trauma…not just skip it. And Rainbow did our boys right, giving them a real and true and messy life. Because that’s what life is. And they will go through it. They won’t stay there, they’ll come out on the other side, and everything will be brighter and stronger because of it. (For Penelope and Agatha too.)
And Other Wayward Son Lines That Will Take You Apart — installment one
“Because just look at him...
Off the sofa, out of the flat. Over the ocean, under the sun. Simon Snow, it hurts to look and you when you’re this happy. And it hurts to look at you when you’re depressed.
There’s no safe time for me to see you, nothing about you that doesn’t tear my heart from my chest and leave it breakable outside my body.”
i don't even know how to feel about the fact that the "angsty part" of simon and baz's relationship is entirely them being so insecure about themselves, they just think the other one is not in love with them anymore just because they struggle so hard on actually saying how they feel but if they could ONLY know what we do know -that they would still kill and die for each other and really never stopped loving and
Wayward Son by Rainbow Rowell
Simon Snow, it hurts to look at you when you’re this happy.
And it hurts to look at you when you’re depressed.
There’s no safe time for me to see you, nothing about you that doesn’t tear my heart from my chest and leave it breakable outside my body.
o u c h
bruh y’all need to stop being pissed about the wayward son ending and the entire plot in general. a lot of you guys expected this entire thing to be all happy with no reference to the trauma simon faced and that simon and baz would immediately be lovely dovey. that’s just unrealistic. the story and ending did a good job setting up the third book.
y’all need to relax. the next book will resolve the problems
it was real. trauma.. doesn’t really end well. it doesn’t end tied up neatly with a bow. and sometimes it never really ends, and sometimes another person no matter how involved they are, doesn’t get to see that other person heal and doesn’t get to see how it’s truly effecting the other person
S H E P A R D ! ! !
"I'd give him all that I am. I'd give him all that I was. I'd open up a vein. I'd tie our hearts together, chamber by chamber".
Simon Snow, it hurts to look at you when you’re this happy. And it hurts to look at you when you’re depressed. There’s no safe time for me to see you, nothing about you that doesn’t tear my heart from my chest and leave it breakable outside my body.

Every Year
Lucious: “How’s your friendship with Harry Potter going, Draco?”
Draco: *thinking about all the fights and petty comments that happened over the year* “Uhh.. Good, father, good...”
my girlfriend got a NICE pair of jeans and I completely understand how simon feels
Fangirl:
Baz. “Have you ever done this before?”
Simon: “Yes. No.”
“Yes or no.?”
“Yes. Not like this.”
Baz. “Not with a boy?”
Simon. “Not when I really wanted it.”
Carry On:
Simon:
I’m not sure why I’m so happy. Nothing’s changed.
Has anything changed?
The kissing. That’s new. The wanting to kiss.
The. Wanting.
