Ngl the split between Twitter and tumblr/bsky in terms of transmisogyny/transmisogynoir and white supremacy feels almost identical to how it felt racially to move from Montana to DC.

Like yeag I’m a lot less likely to be called a slur because they’re so caught up in Looking Right, but it’s replaced by near omnipresent gaslighting, intensification of the panopticon for Identified Targets, and using “social justice” language to say the same damn things while Looking Right because they just can’t get *caught* upholding white supremacy.

Meanwhile both cohorts have a vested interest in lynching me, just in one the KKK directly threatens to set my parents house on fire, the other white “Leftists” either try to find a justification to “rightfully” lynch you, or try to make existence so hellish you do the job for them.

Like, y’all ain’t all that different beyond the language/playacting you do, the difference is mainly in which tactics. Both groups of whites and their collaborators believe they’re good people just trying to save their community from a Threat. They’re “doing the right thing!” Just one is consciously upholding white supremacy and the other is unconsciously doing it bc they was raised in, and live in, a white supremacist society.

They’re trying to “fix” white supremacy so they’re included as “properly white” to the former group when they’re an otherwise marginalized white, not abolish whiteness.

They’re out here Queering White Supremacy(tm)

And the collaborators will be just as bad because they think if they sacrifice enough marginalized folks, they’ll get given an honorary white card, without realizing that sometimes the whites will lynch “the good ones” to make a point.

You cannot escape white supremacy, you can’t fix it, you can only fight for its abolishment. Anything else is just upholding it.
