âYesâŠ?â He wouldâve thought it was something universally understood, but it seemed that she had a little bit of trouble catching on to his words. He had to wonder why, and then she brought up the short time sheâd only been living in the city. Still, even he knew what hot coco was when he as still in Tennessee, and he was about to ask where she was from, originally, when a strange place was mentioned.
He extended his arm before her to stop from stepping forward as a speeding motorcycle passed by at the last minute before the pedestrian light turned green, before they moved forward. âCornwall?â He glanced at her as they crossed the street and towards the small cafe.
â Oh - thanks, that could of a lot less fun, real quick.â Charlotte rolled her eyes at the motorcycle slowly fading into the distance, quickly stopping her forming curse word as she saw a small child walking with his mother their mother beside them. âOkay so, Cornwall is a county the south of England, think the opposite of New York, its by the sea, we surf, make ice cream and a mean pasty.â She smiled reminiscently, her eyes become cloudy for a moment, before she blinked her tears away. âI miss it,â she whispered quietly as she pushed open the cafe door, âa lot. But hey, this is my home now!â She perked up pretty much instantly with the smell of the cafe, her eyes darting around for an empty table.
