These remind me of this drawing by Franz Kafka from the 1900s. We've been feeling this way for a long time.

Different Types Of Dragons: Part One
hello, hello! welcome back to my page! so this post will be about dragons.
I was working on a fantasy short story and I recently finished it and I had different types of dragons included, so I figured Iâd make a post about it.
1. Western Dragon:
are Dragons with four legs and a pair of wings for a total of six limbs.
The term Western Dragon comes from the Dragonology-series of books.
also a generic term for describing any and all European dragons in legends and folklore.
In Japan, all dragons from western myths are called doragon, while in eastern myths they are called ryƫ
most western dragons in fantasy look somewhat dinosaur-like.
were created as the embodiment of ancestral fears humans had for big cats, snakes, birds of prey and bats as they generally resemble some amalgam of these real animals.
western dragons often called True Dragons.
2. Oriental Dragon:
Oriental dragons have serpentine bodies, four legs and no wings, and can fly.
They are said to be a composite of various other animals-the body of a snake, the antlers of a deer, the talons of an eagle, the soles of a tiger, the scales of a carp, and the eyes of a demon
They are found in folklore, mythology, and religion all throughout East Asia.
Oriental dragons were known to not terrorize people unlike the western dragon.
These dragons were said to been guardians.
They were also said to have been the protectors and controllers of both the Earth's elements and its weather.
they can have different amount of toes depending on their depiction.
3. Dragonnet:
The Dragonnet is a small dragon.
They are just as vicious as their western counter parts.
They are quite rare.
Dragonnets have the same look as a classical western dragon.
It has the same scales, claws, and horns. It can fly and breathe fire.
The only difference between the two are the size.
Dragonnets are human-size or smaller.
Dragonnets live and hunt in packs.
A group of dragonnets can easily bring down a human victim, and have poisonous blood.
Most dragnets stay away from settled areas.
They live on high, cold mountaintops, where they survive by eating the babies of larger dragons.
Sometimes they sneak into a dragon's nest after killing one of its offspring. They act like babies to get free food and protection from the unsepecting parent.
4. Wyvern:
is a dragon that most recognizably has two legs as opposed to four
are distinguished as smaller, more animalistic variants of the modern dragon that may or may not have a poisonous stinger at the end of their tail
they are typically weaker, smaller, and less intelligent in comparison to the modern dragon, overall having animalistic tendencies and serving as apex predators
They may or may not have a breath weapon
Additionally, a new classification of Wyvern, the pseudowyvern, which are wyverns that use their wings as forelegs
5. Quetzalcoatl:
is a Mesoamerican deity whose name comes from the Nahuatl language and has the meaning of "feathered-serpent"
has no limbs only wings and feathers
in the Maya area he was known as Kukulcan or Ququmatz, names that also translate as "feathered serpent"
the worship of Quetzalcoatl sometimes included animal sacrifices, and in colonial traditions Quetzalcoatl was said to oppose human sacrifice
There you have it folks! I couldnât find all the different types of dragons in one post, so Iâll make a part two soon!

How to Stop Hating Everything You Write
1. Don't be afraid of making mistakes.
Quit judging yourself for every mistake you make along the way. Whether you're writing fiction, fanfiction, or nonfiction, just write. If you can't correct your errors as you go, that's okay. When I don't have the brainpower to multitask, I focus on the writing stage one step at a time. Just write!
2. Don't aim for perfection.
"It's not ready if it's not perfect." That's a lie. When you're in the process of writing, it's best to concentrate on getting your thoughts on paper.
3. Seek feedback and learn to receive it.
Join lively communities with active writers or forums that host events inviting writers to share their work for critique. Not every critique is constructive; learn to discern which feedback to take on board and which to ignore.
4. Read, read, read.
You can't give what you don't have. You learn a lot from reading similar pieces in your chosen genre. Reading is also a source of inspiration that fuels your writing process.
5. Cut yourself some slack.
Writing is no small feat. It takes talent to formulate a story with your mind and skill to visualize it for others to see. Do you love writing? Then keep doing it because it takes practice.
How many drafts should you go through before deciding your novel is ready?
There's no specific (official) number, but to create a foundation that ensures you don't burn out quickly, overwork yourself, and get tired of your work, I'll say four. It's the same number I use for my students since most of them have other engagements outside writing that take up a copious amount of their time.
1. Initial or Zero Draft:
This draft is also called the 'just write' draft. Focus on putting that idea down. As the creative juices flow, let it all out. Don't worry about perfection or coherence; the goal is to capture your raw ideas and get the story out of your head and onto the page.
2. Second Draft:
This is the plot draft. Read through what you have written to see if every detail you added was meant to be. Here, you focus on the structure of your story. Ensure that the plot makes sense, the pacing is right, and there are no major plot holes. This is where you might add, remove, or rearrange scenes to improve the overall flow of the narrative.
3. Third Draft:
Character development draft. In this stage, you look deeper into your characters. Make sure their motivations, backgrounds, and arcs are well-defined and consistent. Flesh out their personalities and relationships, ensuring they are compelling and believable. This is also a good time to refine dialogue and make sure it sounds natural and true to each character. That's for this drafting stage.
4. Fourth Draft:
Grammar and punctuation draft. This is the polishing stage. Focus on correcting grammatical errors, punctuation, and spelling mistakes. Pay attention to sentence structure, word choice, and overall readability. This draft is about making your manuscript as clean and professional as possible.
Keep in mind that the goal is to define what completion means for each draft. Once you reach the goal, take a break and return to it for the next drafting stage.
Some writers pay people to carry out some of the drafting stages for them, so if you fall into that category, you might have fewer drafting stages to handle yourself!

Anxiety/Nervousness
She fidgeted with the hem of her shirt, her fingers tugging nervously at the fabric as she struggled to find the right words.
They bit their lower lip.
He looked away, unable to meet her gaze, a clear indication of his guilt.
She absentmindedly rubbed her neck.
He chewed his nails, a nervous habit that he couldn't seem to quit.
They rubbed their hands together nervously.
He tightened his jaw.
She felt beads of sweat forming on her brow, betraying her calm facade as her heart raced.
Frustration/Impatience
Their fists clenched at their sides.
He tapped his fingers rhythmically against the table, a clear sign of impatience as he waited for her to finish.
He rolled his eyes, the gesture full of exasperation as he dismissed her words.
She let out a heavy sigh, the sound heavy with resignation as she faced the inevitable.
He threw his hands up in defeat.
Curiosity
He leaned forward in his chair, eager to hear more, his eyes sparkling with curiosity.
She raised an eyebrow, her expression skeptical as she questioned his intentions.
She tilted her head slightly.
He watched intently, his eyes wide with wonder as he took in every detail of her story.
Confidence/Assertiveness
He stood tall with his shoulders back, projecting confidence even in the face of uncertainty.
They sat on the edge of their seat.
She gestured wildly, her hands moving animatedly as she tried to express her excitement.
He stood with his hands on his hips, exuding an air of authority and control over the situation.
They held their chin up high, projecting self-assurance even in the face of adversity.
Defensiveness/Resignation
He crossed his arms over his chest, a defensive posture that spoke volumes about his discomfort.
He braced himself against the wall, a protective stance.
She folded her hands in her lap, a sign of restraint as she fought the urge to speak.
They shrank back slightly, their shoulders hunching as if trying to make themselves smaller in the face of criticism.
He held his breath momentarily, steeling himself for the inevitable conflict he sensed was coming.
She covered her face with her hands, overwhelmed by the situation as she tried to block out the world.
Thoughtfulness/Concentration
She furrowed her brow in concentration, her mind clearly racing as she tried to solve the problem at hand.
She nodded slowly, processing the information, her expression thoughtful and contemplative.
He stared blankly into space, lost in thought as he processed what had just been revealed.
He drummed his fingers on the table, the rhythmic sound a sign of his deep contemplation.
She tapped her foot lightly, her mind racing.
Eagerness/Excitement
He paced back and forth, his restless energy manifesting in the constant movement as he considered his options.
She bent forward, her elbows resting on her knees, a sign of intimacy and engagement in the conversation.
She swayed slightly from side to side, a subconscious display of her nervous energy as she waited for the verdict.
He bounced on his toes, his excitement palpable.
She jumped up and down, a spontaneous display of her joy that couldnât be contained.

âWake up, lazy,â Character A murmurs as Character B groans into their chest and murmurs, âMmm, two more minutesâ back at them with that cute, half-awake tone of theirs, their arms tightening around Character A.
Character A crawling into Character Bâs arm, a pout on their face. âIâm tired,â they whine, and Character B only chuckles as they hold Character A closer to them. âThen letâs rest for the night,â Character B says, planting a kiss on Character Aâs forehead.Â
Character A taking Character Bâs phone away, mumbling âEnough phone time for tonightâ so they can cuddle.
^ Alternatively, Character A and Character B go through their nightly TikTok together while cuddled up in bed. Â (I do this with cat guy and then I get sleepy after a while of scrolling lmao)
Tickle fights turning into late night cuddling sessions (and maybe a bit of kissing here and there).
Character A whoâs warm as fuck and can be used as a portable heater and Character B whoâs always cold for some reason, so Character B uses Character A as their human heater on cold nights. (Character A is me and Character B is cat guy lmfao)Â
Character B trying to go in for a kiss attack while cuddling and Character A laughing, playfully trying to get away from them.Â
âThe sun is too bright!â Character A whines, hiding their face in Character Bâs chest while Character B giggles softly. âYes, yes, itâs too bright for vampires like you.â
âIâm sick right nowââ âWell, doesnât matter because Iâve been in such close proximity to you, itâs inevitable Iâm gonna get sick too. Now move over and make some room for me, I want to cuddle my sweetheart.â (Cat guy to me but in an exaggerated fashion)Â
âVery warm and soft,â Character A murmurs sleepily into Character Bâs neck. (My manâs does this to me all the time wlkefkewfm)Â

Writing Notes: Positive Communication
Positive Communication - is conceptualized as ârelational communication facilitative of happiness, health, and wellnessâ (Pitts & Socha, 2013, p. 1).
Skills that enhance empathic listening include (Leal, 2017):
Quiet your mind to focus on the person speaking.
Listen to them fully and openly.
Listen through the words.
Avoid interrupting them when theyâre speaking.
Use your own words to reflect back what you heard them say, including the emotional content of the message.
One approach used to teach positive communication skills is the relationship enhancement (RE) approach, which focuses on conversation sharing, conflict resolution skills, and effective self- and other-changing techniques for enriching relationships (Pitts & Socha, 2013).
In order to accomplish these relational milestones, the RE approach (Pitts & Socha, 2013, pp. 150â151) encourages the study and practice of skills, such as:
Empathic (listening)
Expressive (speaking)
Discussionânegotiation (conversing)
Problemâconflict resolution
Self-change
Helping others change
Teaching or facilitation
Generalization
Maintenance skills
Leal (2017) believes preparation for empathic listening starts with empathic awareness:
Recognize the inherent value and dignity of yourself and the other person.
Foster a desire to want to listen and relate to the other person.
Think of the other person in a positive light.
Humility resides in these components.
Newberg and Waldman (2012, p. 123) discuss compassionate communication and list strategies they believe should be adhered to consistently. They include:
Express appreciation.
Speak warmly.
Speak slowly.
Speak briefly.
Listen deeply.

Oddly Specific Romance Prompts Vol. 4: Attending a Formal Dance/Gala
âRelax. You look gorgeous.â
âPeople are looking at us.â âYeah, theyâre jealous about my hot date.â
âMay I have this dance?â âOnly if you donât mind me stepping all over your toes.â âItâll be worth it.â
âYou lookâŠwow.â
âSorry, I don't normally dress like this..." "Well, you should. You're stunning."
"I've never slow danced before." "That's okay. Just lean on me and follow my lead."
"You smell fantastic." "Thanks. I broke out the expensive perfume/cologne for the occasion. I was also kind of hoping you'd notice."
"When did you learn to dance like that?" "Oh, it's just something I picked up on over the years. Try to keep up."
"I feel stupid in this dress/tux." "You certainly don't look stupid." "What was that?" "Nothing."
"Why don't you dress like this more often? I could get used to this look."
"Here, take my jacket. You're freezing." "No, it's fine. It looks better on you, anyway." "Funny. I was going to say it looked better on you."
"It might just be the champagne hitting, but god I could kiss you right now."
"We're running late; can you zip this up for me?" "Actually, I'd rather unzip it. What's a few more minutes?"
"You're, by far, the hottest one at this stupid gala; and it's not even close."
Words You Always Have to Look Up
Nonplussed
Means âperplexed.â
But there is a further point of confusion that can send someone to the dictionary: since the mid-20th century, nonplussed has been increasingly used to mean âunimpressedâ or âunsurprised,â and this use, though often considered an error, has made the confident deployment of this word a fraught issue for many.
Anodyne
Sometimes words sort of seem to telegraph their meaning: pernicious sounds like a bad thing rather than a good thing, and beatific sounds like something to be desired as opposed to something to be avoided.
This is all fairly subjective, of course, but the sounds of words can have an effect on how we perceive them.
Anodyne doesnât give us many clues in that way. It turns out that anodyne is a good thing: it means âserving to alleviate painâ or âinnocuous,â from the Greek word with similar meanings.
Supercilious
Used to describe people who are arrogant and haughty or give off a superior attitude.
It comes from the Latin word meaning âeyebrow,â and was used in Latin to refer to the expression of arrogant people, and this meaning was transferred to English.
Amusingly, the word supercilious was added to some dictionaries in the 1600sâa time when many Latin words were translated literally into Englishâwith the meanings âpertaining to the eyebrowsâ or âhaving great eyebrows.â
