She nodded once, some relief in finding that the male and his belongings were okay and that she hadn’t done anything too wrong. “Good.” She responded, a small smile making it’s way onto her features before twisting with slight discomfort at his question, gaze scanning the area around them briefly. “I, uh -…someone told me there was a grocery store around here somewhere? …though, I suppose whether that’s true or not could be a whole different story.”

“A grocery store? Well, there’s a small market just two blocks down...” He shrugged, never going to the big, expensive grocery stores.

“No, no! Okay well. They’re not terrible. They just um.. not very,, uh.. I still really appreciate you feeding me.”

“Just say it, they’re awful.” He sighed, looking down at the disgusting plate of food. “I won’t be offended...”

“Yes, but I didn’t realise the answer would take half-an-hour” he knew he was exaggerating, but he didn’t really believe it mattered.

“A half hour?” He questioned, glancing at his watch. “Dude, it’s been like ten minutes... you’re so dramatic.”

“It’s a bachelorette party,” she told the nearest person when she stepped out of the bar to take a cigarette. “I didn’t willingly cover myself in dicks.” Granted, it was very minimal compared to the bride to be, but she was already regretting her decision to join in on the fun. And had she not been forced by her cousin to attend, as well as encouraged with the idea of free alcohol, she probably would have skipped it all together. “Probably best if you don’t ask questions.”

Charlie sat at the bar, watching as the women acted crazy. He needed some air from the commotion, stepping outside to find a woman smoking. "I won't judge." Charlie shrugged, chuckling slightly. "Can you bum a cigarette?"

"I'm sorry... I'm not exactly good at cooking tacos. Are they really not that good?"

“I’m going to have to stop you there, because you’ve been talking for a very long time and I haven’t actually been listening” Carter was aware that was rude, but at this rate the conversation was never going to end.

"You're the one that asked me a question..." Charlie rolled his eyes, clearly annoyed with this man.

“Mhm, it’s so much more obvious to me now that I see you everyday. Perfect pretty boy Charlie.” She whispered and pressed her lips back against his with a smile as he pulled her into his lap. “I am happy. It would be nice to have my career be better but I’m happy. But I can honestly say this is the happiest I’ve been in awhile.” She reassured her hands lightly massaging his back as she listened to him. A light smile tugged at her lips at his question, she found it adorable that he was concerned about her future schedule. “No, not every day. For now it’ll just be Sundays and Mondays. I’m just helping the choreographer with their younger dancers since I’m such a pro with today’s youth. I doubt it’ll be more than that. I’ll be back just in time to tuck you in and read Goodnight Moon to you. I promise.” She teased, pressing a firm kiss to his temple. “How was your day though? I want to hear about your day.”

Charlie massaged his hands into Olivia’s hips, holding her closely in his embrace. “Oh good, I was worried about how my sleep schedule was going to be changed... you know i can’t sleep if you’re not here to hold me.” He teased, smiling as she kissed at his forehead. “My dad wasn’t that bad... did a lot of work around town clearing most of the remaining snow... mostly laying down proper soil so the grass will benefit from the excess water with the snow melting.” Charlie rested back more into the couch, looking up at the blonde. “Parker is coming home for the week... some strange holiday they’re having at his private school.”

“I’m a little guy,” he chuckles, “Nowadays at least. I guess people do weird things sometimes. But I haven’t really left my house for a long time so my brain is just… double weird.”

“Why haven’t you left your house? Are you a hermit? Antisocial psychopath?”

“Whatever let’s you sleep at night. Clearly it’s this.” Edythe shrugged, crossing her arms in front of her chest. “This is weird.” The words left her mouth before she really had time to think about what she wanted to say. “Why do you want to meet him?”

Charlie eyed her for a moment, shrugging at her words. “Because you’re my friend... one of my closest friends and I wanted to meet the man that is part of your life or whatever.” He felt a bit slighted at the fact that Edythe wasn’t exactly interested in having Charlie meet the man.

Andrew shrugged. “I’m in the doctorate of Physical Therapy program at St. John’s. So it’ll be super awesome when I’m done. But it’s a lot right now.” He said. “Oh, I almost forgot. I’m also taking a photography class. That one is pretty fun. And it’s my relatively easy class for the semester.” 

Charlie nodded as his listened, giving the young man credit. “A photography class? Is that an elective?” He asked curiously, wondering if he was interested in photography too or if was just to complete the course work.

And just like that all her bad thoughts and the miserable mood she had muddling around started to fade away after hearing Charlie’s supportive words. He was speaking the truth and she was aware of the fact that everything wasn’t going to be smooth all the time, but this time had been the most successful she had been so it felt horrible to fall back to step one again. She was lucky though not many got as far as she had nor had someone as supportive as Charlie was being by offering his help. The tip of her nose bumped itself against his as she looked into his eyes for a second. “Why are you so perfect? I seriously needed to hear that. You’re the absolute sweetest.” Olivia replied, returning the gentle kiss as she let her lips linger against his for awhile longer. “I don’t want to give up but it just feels like I need to for awhile. I appreciate your offers though, I really do. I’m honestly touched.” She replied, sliding her hands over the tops of his as she ran her fingertips along his knuckles. “I’m going to take the job, just to clear my head and fuel my passion again. I think it’s the right thing to do.” She eventually ended up saying after awhile.

“I’m just perfect.” Charlie shrugged, smiling into the kiss as his hands held tightly at her knees, keeping her close. He listened quietly as she spoke about her decision, nodding softly. “I understand... if that’s what you feel is best right now, then I’ll support you.” Charlie assured, pressing another kiss to her lips before letting his hands slide to her hips, pulling her into his lap in a tight embrace. “I just want you to be happy.” He whispered, pressing another kiss to the crook of her neck. “Does that mean you’ll have to be commuting to broadway each day?” He asked curiously, knowing that’d mean he wouldn’t be able to see her as much as he’d like.

Danny blinks, eyes narrowing at the man. He was right, though, but Danny wouldn’t count himself as a kid. (He couldn’t help how he looked young, he’d look the same since he was like 18, ignoring the weight he gained and lost after the band failed.) “I don’t have any one me,” he says after a moment, “I don’t deal.”

Charlie rolled his eyes, shrugging his shoulders at the man. “Alright, I respect that, bud.” He watched as he continued to ride the child’s toy. “It’s pretty impressive you fit on that...”

Andrew shrugged slightly. “I know it is. It’s just also a major pain in my ass.” He said cracking a smile at the man who sat down across from him. “That sounds good, keeping busy, and all.” He said nodding. “A bunch of science classes: physiology, organic chemistry and kinesiology. I’m also taking this dumb spanish class that I hate already and labs for my sciences. Nothing too fun right now.” he said with a shrug.

“Hard work is always a pain.” He shrugged, stirring his coffee slightly with his straw. “Why are you taking so many science classes? What’s your major anyways?”

“I never said that I didn’t like him, I thought that was obvious.” Edythe was more than a little self aware, she knew what conclusions her friends would come to once they heard her talk about him, but she wasn’t trying to get anyone else involved. He was right, she turned rather secretive (more than she already was) whenever something or someone she cared about was the topic of conversation. “My ass is definitely better than yours and you can tell all the time.” She was no stranger to the way in which her attire accentuated certain parts of her body. It was all always done on purpose. “I’ve been training and running marathons half my life. I’ve got you beat.”

“Bull shit... I have the better ass... and I’m the better kisser.” Charlie laughed, shaking his head as he challenged her. “I’m just the best.” He shrugged, scratching at his beard while he smirked. “So tell me more about your boy... you like him, duh... but do I get to meet him?”

The last two weeks had been difficult, she had taken a leave of absence at work and had stayed at her apartment all day and all night. Booze had been her best friend, ice cream her lover and Netflix her shelter. She didn’t have many reasons to feel as much of a screw up as she had been feeling, but the heart and mind could be wicked sometimes.

Going out for the first time in fifteen days, Addison was sitting in a Westbrook coffee shop all by herself, the cup of hot chocolate held between both her hands as she stared at the people passing by through the window glass. “I know, I haven’t been around.” The girl said out loud as someone took the seat in front of her, without even turning to look a them.

Charlie scanned the cafe for an empty seat, cradling his coffee in his hand. He shrugged internally at the sight of the empty chair across from the melancholy brunette, moving to take the seat across from her. “I guess I’d have to know you to know you haven’t been around…” He smiled as he gently chuckled. “I’m sorry, I just didn’t see anyone sitting here. I hope I’m not intruding on…” Charlie glanced at the woman, trying to choose his word choice. “Your people watching… its always way more fun if you make up a backstory for them.”

“Shit…” New York; a stark contrast to the quiet and spacious world of Texas she was so used to, noise and crowds taking up the streets and leaving her feeling overwhelmed. She had only just gotten there a few hours prior, so the place was very much still a mystery to her, something evident in her lack of direction. What was meant to be a simple trip to the store ‘just around the corner’ to grab a few essentials had quickly gotten her lost and sent her colliding harshly with another body, the curse having slipped from her lips as she stumbled backwards. “Sorry! I am so sorry.” The girl quickly dropped downwards in order to grab fallen items, her voice making it clear that she felt badly for the incident, as did her features, drawn with anxiety and concern. “I am…I am such a mess. I just got here and this place is a lot more hectic than I am used to and it is a lot to take in and I’m trying to…sorry. I’m rambling.” Her rushed words slowed as she realized the way she was speaking, the girl shaking her head in an attempt to pull herself together, rising to hand them back their items and seeming to actually look at them for the first time. “Are you okay?”

Charlie hadn’t been paying much attention as he went through his work emails, though the small collision didn’t cause much of an impact since he was significantly bigger than the girl. “No, no… no harm, no foul.” He chuckled, waving off the brunette’s concerns, listening as she spoke about being all disheveled. “Well, do you need help? Was their someplace you were trying to get?” Charlie asked, hoping he could be of service.

                  “No, Charlie. No.” Adrian shook his head fast and gazed at his fried with firm urgency. He even brought a hand to clutch at his arm. If the thought of Charlie becoming involved ignited this kind of fear into Adrian, he couldn’t even IMAGINE what Zoe was going through. Things were being put in perspective every day that went by, excruciatingly so. He took another drink, downing the rest of his glass contents without realizing it. The guilt was intense. He never wanted Zoe to be fearful, but here they were. He hated himself for causing her pain like that. “I think she blames herself. Which is horrible, because it’s no one’s fault but mine. And yeah. I don’t— I don’t even want to repeat the things he said. Ugh.”

Charlie shrugged at his protest, knowing that Adrian really just wanted to keep the peace between his girlfriend and her ex. He couldn’t blame him, but at the same time he should just sit around and be disrespected. “Well, if you’re not gonna give me any details about the situation… the only advice I can offer is to either let it cool down and lay low… or go talk to Zoe and confront the issue head on instead of letting it grow.” He suggested, bringing his glass up to his lips. “Get her some flowers… beg for forgiveness…”
