SO LIKE IN THE DREAM , SANJI HAD GOTTEN BADLY INJURED AND USOPP WAS CARRYING HIM OVER TO WHERE CHOPPER WAS . While he was carrying him , sanji was so genuinely out of it from the injuries that he just kissed usopp on the cheek and promptly fell asleep in his arms . Usopp was so startled and shocked he almost dropped sanji LMAOZZ . They’re so cute this should happen in canon .

Shuggy where Buggy is convinced Shanks just liked him because they were the only children on the boat for a long time and got over him quickly (not helped by Shanks playing it cool at Marineford).

Meanwhile, Shanks is convinced Buggy knew how he felt and didn't reciprocate.

Why? Because several of his pirate dads took him aside as a teen to tell him "I know puberty is hitting you hard right now but you need to calm down. You're sniffing Buggy like a dog at the breakfast table. You growled at this poor guy who tried to flirt with him. Buggy isn't a piece of meat and you're going to creep him out".

It was sincere advice, unfortunately Shanks immediately jumped to "I'm being a creep towards my best friend who doesn't reciprocate my feelings" and the whole asshole sperm donor revelation didn't help because he immediately went the opposite extrem to not be like Garling.

Also, Buggy was too busy being both insecure and insane about Shanks but also not talking about it to anyone so nobody knew what happened in his head was stuff like:

"If he really loved me, he would've stabbed this guy who tried to flirt with me" Or "I knew it, i let him hit and he isn't sniffing me anymore, it was just hormons"

It got worse after the break up. Buggy convinced himself Shanks has a secret wife and Kids on an island somewhere and he's very mad about it. Shanks' secret family he invented has names and lore. It's bad.

Shanks was so afraid of making Buggy run after Marineford he got overly cautious, very careful with touch, keeping it friendly (and ragebaiting because he loves pulling pigtail). This man slept on the floor of his own cabin to let Buggy have the bed, tricked him three times more with the treasure map trick before giving him a real one at the end of the journey, lended Buggy his own clothes and gave himself a perpetual boner.

Buggy stayed very mad and in denial the whole time.
