13 years ago, I started testosterone.

I got top surgery, had a hysterectomy, changed my documents, lived my life as a man.

I was steady, solid, grounded in my gender.

Asexual-leaning. Content.

I didn’t need much from my body, except for it to be quiet.

But then, something changed.

Something loud and frightening moved in.

CSBD.

Compulsive Sexual Behavior Disorder.

Like my brain short-circuited.

Suddenly I was obsessed, overwhelmed, disoriented by a hunger that didn’t feel like mine.

Like a stranger had hijacked my skin.

Hot flashes, sweating, mood swings — like a second puberty, but crueler.

So now, I’m doing something I never imagined I’d need to do:

I’m taking estrogen again.

Not because I’m detransitioning — I’m not.

But because my endocrine system is collapsing under the weight of silence.

I will be on one to two pumps of estrogel a day. 0.5 to 1mg.

I don’t know how much it will change me.

How close it’ll bring me back to my pre-T self.

It terrifies me.

But it also calms me.

I’m not choosing femininity.

I’m choosing balance.

I’m choosing peace over the chaos that CSBD brought into my life.

I’m choosing myself.

And yeah, I’m still a man.

Whatever that means — I’ve fought too hard to lose it now.

My doc said I’d be on non-binary HRT,which is different from T for FtM, E for MtF. Including low dose e or T, or both.

Someday I’ll be back on T, I sincerely hope.
