STEPHWOLF/HATCHETFIELD WEREWOLVES AU MASTERPOST
DON'T FORGET TO CHECK MY PAGE/MY REBLOGS FOR MORE ADDITIONS TO THE POSTS(and follow the #wolfstephau tag... that'll help.)!
WAAAAAAAIT while I'm here... I should post my werewolf steph au... copy-pasted from my discord thread about it.
WELCOME TO MY HYPERFIX WITHIN MY HYPERFIX.
So. First off.
She's been a werewolf her entire life. Solomon DOES NOT LIKE THIS.
(If you wonder where she got it from, it's genetic on her mom's side.)
He calls her a mutt, and forces her to suppress her lycanthropy, which is painful and potentially mentally damaging for her.
Think of it like holding in a piss. It's part of her nature, it's not HER fault she was born a werewolf
Werewolves were made by the Lords in Black, and they spread. But the humans fought back, and now werewolves are normally reserved for horror movies and are pretty rare.
There's a few werewolves in Hatchetfield, including Steph.
Nobody knows her secret except for Tom, who provides her a safe space and teaches her how to hunt animals to satisfy the wolf's hunger. This changes when she meets the nerds, though.
That all changes when she meets Peter in sophomore year. Yes this is my au, they're dating by junior year I love them.
As a HUGE show of trust, she revealed herself to Peter, and was pleasantly surprised when he immediately accepted her. Of course he had questions, but it's still Steph at the end of the day, and he loves steph.
Since the Lords in Black made werewolves, Webby made a few alterations to the curse and those bloodlines who stemmed from it. She altered how being a werewolf affects the state of mind, later down the line, gave the magical ability to retain clothing when transforming to wolf and back, and made transformations faster and more painless. It took a few generations before the alterations set in. (There's warwick from league of legends influence CAN YOU TELL-)
Steph has also told Richie and Ruth bc she trusts them and Peter trusts them. She and Richie geek out over werewolves and werewolf movies together.
Also she HATES twilight
By the way Peter isn't her "mate" or anything like that, and there's no alpha, beta, omega stuff.
She's an efficient hunter and actually shows some grace to her prey by always making it fast and as painless as she can
Peter, though squeamish, finds that fact sweet.
And she's a total cuddlebug. When in wolf form she doesn't feel the need to act all too cool n stuff. She can just be an affectionate dork
Tom is the largest werewolf at 10 feet, ethan is 9'6, lex is 8'1, Emma is 6'10, Max is 8'8 and steph is 9 even
The average female is 7-8 feet
So people CONSTANTLY assume steph is a male werewolf bc she's the taller than the average male
The male is around 8-9 feet tall. So Ethan and Tom are anomalies along males, and Steph is DEFINITELY an anomaly among females.
IS THERE A CURSE? YES, YES THERE IS. It involves blood mixing, using the Lords in Black, or a special potion with the blood of a werewolf in it. Yes, it can spread via bite, but that requires dumping a lot of saliva, and biting someone for long enough could kill them instead of turn them.
Werewolves are usually sensitive to silver, but with enough stubbornness, they can grow a tolerance to small amounts of silver. This results in wolfsbane ALSO being needed. This is why Steph still has her silver rings, namely as a "fuck you" to her dad.
The "inner wolf" has to be accepted in order to maintain complete control. Werewolves still need to hunt. Whether or not it's people or wildlife, it doesn't matter. The beast needs to feed.
We got it? Good! Onto art!
I'll need to add more art... I'll make a hashtag so yall can find it.
There's downsides to repressing the wolf.
Less control, more frequent outbursts, cravings are more intense, generally worse mood, and if it gets bad enough—physical pain
