i was recommended acetate ribbun a while back in my notes and i DID read it, here are my thoughts from what i remember about it 👇

Jesus Christ i can certainly see why its divisive. it also makes sense that this fic hit the ribbun streets like crack because its kind of everything youd want if you engage with ribbun as kind of a toxic/abusive thing. i'm not a "proshipper" by any means but i do like some grunge and acetate ribbun is very grungy.

i think maybe the only part i remember being a little squicked out by is that a few of the scenes are kinda... i dunno, bordering on assault? maybe i'm misremembering or interpreting the fic wrong but i think maybe the author had a slightly more extreme view of how they'd interact sexually than i do. it was definitely interesting though.

things that really stuck with me were gangle's disgust at finding out jax was into her and her ability to leverage that information over him and the fact that he had to deal with those things (awesome) and the amount of mutual physical violence (fire)

since reading the fic i have made a pomniganglejax post referencing it which the gangle va was kind enough to reblog (can't stop winning?) so ultimately it has improved my life i think. but if you lowkey think it sucks and is too close to being outright proship then i get that and i think that is a fine opinion. like i said i might have forgotten a thing or two but whaaaatever. it's been a couple months, ya know
